R: is rejected, and HW: is hardware errors. A: is accepted

you have to minus the percentage of errors and rejected shares from your hash rate to get hash rate that pool should show.

eg.  if your hash rate is 300GH/s and you have 2% errors and 1% rejected then 300-9 = 291GH/s

Thanks. Ok, where do I find errors? The rejects are .13%. Also, I'm not following your formula. Your example is 2% errors and 1% rejects (3%) subtracted from the hashrate (300). That's 297, not 291.

That said, if I followed your formula, I'd be less than 1% plus presumably 30% errors (326 - .13% - [30% errors]. That seems incorrect?

You would have to get the information from cgminer on the device.

So either SSH onto the box or use the API and a third part App, or use Bertmod and it will show the Hardware errors (HW) on the web page.

thanks ! Don't you think that jupiter clocked on 325 mhz is too dangerous for a long run ?

Not dangerous, but it does void your warranty, which is why I would NEVER overclock my KnC hardware, but I have a purely scientific interest in these find people investigating the inner workings of the hardware.

But if I was, theoretically, going to overclock my KnC hardware then the requirements of getting as many coins as quickly as possible would probably override my concerns about danger or warranty becuase by the time they actually started to be a concern, well, with the difficulty increases we have had recently, the equipment would be mining dust by then really.

Just say its parts for the customised Computer Games Arcade booth for Comic Con that you design

Gaming Arcade was the exact thing that crossed my mind as a possible reason to buy these.
Btw the lady on the phone asked if I am a private a commercial person. Is there a difference in terms of Duty/VAT if you import these as a private or business person?

That is the problem with Chinese outfits that lie on customs documents. Yes it saves you the tax/duty, but if the transaction gets questioned you're in the unenviable position of either having to say that the description is wrong and it's really something else or trying to get it released without outright lying to the customs officials in order to get it released.

Personally, I'd rather just pay the tax. I do a decent number of crossborder Canada/US trips, and the unilateral power of those guys to detain and hold people is unbelievable. Once you get on their list as someone who tries to avoid paying taxes, you get your scarlet letter and special treatment every time you go through.

Well if one has to be ecompletely honest then 1.9BTC should be the declared value, but that will create more problems that it will solve.
I doubt anyone here is mad at Bitmain for declaring it with a low value.
I will just make up a plausible story and stick to it Smiley

Computer hardware for a gaming project sounds good.

Did you use bitcoins you had mined to pay for it? Theoretically they have no value, or only the value of the cost of the electricy and equipment used to mine them, being a virtual currency blah blah.. Smiley

They probably want to know if you have a VAT number if you are a commercial entity, because its really about the VAT, there are no import duties for computer parts.

max stable performance for october jupiter ?

I've seen 650-670 in really well cooled environments

1 or more fan(s) per board ?

Just with the stock fans, but adjusted so that they are sitting on the crossbar

this position is better for having less temps ? Could you please post images of yout setup ? Smiley

Its not mine, I run mine 100% at stock of course.

Simple and doesnt need to be a lie..

http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Application-specific_integrated_circuit

So just tell them its fpga and you have a project that requires custom programming with fpga.. I would avoid mentioning word cryptography. . Especially when you mention china..

Got a call from UPS to confirm the value of the items as there was a mismatch between the invoice and the reported value - no idea what that means.
They send me an email to which I just replied that I am a private buyer and confirmed the value of $120.

UPS also attached a copy of the invoice that states: Computer Game Gateway, so I wonder if UPS decides to ask questions how do I best explain what I am buying, so it doesn't raise any concerns.

Just explain that they're high performance cryptographic machines, coming from China. Customs loves that. Tongue

That sounds too suspicious  Grin
Any other plusible explanation?

The description on the invoice is already a lie: they think its hardware for gaming.
I might be just paranoid, but I want to know what to say if they start asking questions Smiley

Anyone got any tips for what to do with a board that has all 48 cores off??

RMA it
2730  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: January 24, 2014, 10:24:24 AM

The thing had actually worked well originally, I seem now finally to abe having the kinds of problems so many people started up with right out of the box.

Anyone have any idea what the thing was that would turn all the dies or ASICs or whatever back on?

Or are these newer firmwares supposed to include all that stuff themselves already?

-MarkM-

how much do you want for the dead board??  i bet a few people here would take a chance on it

I would but I only have 1000w PSUs and with 5 boards overclocked on each jupiter i am at ~910w already at the wall

Actually I hoped it wasn't really dead but that if I can find that turn everything on again script it will turn the thing back on.

Too much to hope for eh?

Do these things have warranties?

-MarkM-

Have you tried going to the Advanced menu and bumping the voltage on that core?

Usually works for me.
2731  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Antminer S1 open for sale again] The last round before the Chinese New Year on: January 24, 2014, 10:17:51 AM
Guys first of all I would like to thank all of you that helped me get passed my problem.

I have managed to edit and save the configuration file and I am not getting any errors.

My problem now is that I am not getting any mining out of my Antminer either.

Miner status shows zero activity even though there are no errors now.

What?Huh?

What do I do?

1. Now you don't have ntp on the miner the clock might be wrong, check that first, go to system menu and click on "synch with browser"
2. If still not working, go to Network -> Diagnostics and put in your routers IP address and see if you can ping it, or put in something like www.google.com and see if you can ping that.

That should test you have your network setup correctly, if it fails then you need to setup the miner on your network properly.
2732  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Antminer S1 open for sale again] The last round before the Chinese New Year on: January 23, 2014, 06:03:13 PM
urgh... still not hashing!!!

every applying chnages is perpetual, meaning it rarely stops saying its 'applying changes'

something is definitely NOT right!!

Hey edgar, I'm in the UK if you need any help. PM me.

Is the miner setup on the same network settings as your home network? Gatweay, DNS server etc?

What I mean is you may have to change the network settings for the miner to be able to get to your router and out to the internet, the default settings may not be setup correctly for your network.

Try going to "Network" -> "Diagnostics" menu and pinging the default host there.

If you had just 100 Bitcoins, and the price settled over 10k.....   someday mate....  someday soon  Wink
People will be so glad their machine spits out .005 a day....

maybe at 0.1 or 0.05, but not at 0.005 a day, this will only be $50 at $10,000 per bitcoin, then takeaway power cost it will be even less...

sure you calculated it correctly?

$50 a day is not that bad as long as it covers 50% of your operational costs.

e.g. $50 a day, 50% maintenance costs (energy + space rent + time etc etc) you still got 30*$50*.5=$750 net per month.

And how much will $750 a month buy at 2140 inflation levels? Smiley

You guys do realize they are selling these on their website for 1.9 BTC right?

LOL

Any update today Bitmain? I will keep asking daily until i get communications from you.

Communication is your biggest downfall and can be read in any thread your machines have been sold.

I was going to buy from bitmain/sushi. But after seeing how they handle problems with respected members of the community I changed my mind.
It's a shame. Really.

I think if you are buying one or two S1's you will be fine, but if you buy in bulk then make sure everything is sorted out with customs beforehand.

elasticband is noisy (understandably) but I don't think there is that big of a problem. Most of the time S1's get shipped out within a few working days of ordering without issue, the only general communication issue is with delivery tracking details being sent out sporadically.
2736  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: January 22, 2014, 09:33:55 AM
Maybe they should just do a die shrink of what they have now, stick two of them on a daughter board, 4 daughter boards in a the same case they use now, water cool it and call it Sol (cos its gonna be HOT).

That should be a quick turnaround in time for Q1 and net them close to 2 TH per box.
2737  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: January 22, 2014, 09:28:21 AM
Anyone know how to remotely setup and login to a Jupiter?

Well you would need someone there to plug it in and power it up. Not easy considering the jury rigging of the power supply needed.

After that well.. do you have remote access to a computer on the same network the miner is plugged into?
2738  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Antminer S1 open for sale again] The last round before the Chinese New Year on: January 22, 2014, 12:11:52 AM
Hi, we shipped out by sequences, but we did not get the tracking number by sequences.... So please don't worry, the tracking number will be provided soon.

I think we are just a little concerned because last time the shipping info was so quick and so was the website update.

Can you please confirm my order 00120140119164603621ox8jVUY606B3 has shipped?

Many thanks

Like someone said earlier, you can set your account up to voluntarily pay a fee to the pool.

When you consider, during the recent problems, Wizkid had to manually pay out a million bucks in BTC to get things caught up and that was 2 days worth!

If everyone just set their account to pay a 1% fee to the pool for a week, Wizkid would have enough to get some upgraded hardware/servers/infrastructure.

Please respond if you are willing to do this!

I've been doing this since I started using the pool.

My order 00120140119223526663zB49XKks06A0 placed 2014-01-19 22:35:27.0 has status Paid - Unshipped - Valid. Never got a confirmation e-mail, but I assume all is well as it says Paid and Valid.

Received confirmation this order shipped now.

Hmm mine was before yours and still not shipped, I would have expected them to go out on Monday really if its anything like the last load of orders.
