i think you are in the wrong thread, its about T2

No IS the correct thread because Inno makes the T2. Their point is that Inno has historically been a horrible company to deal with as alvynly and other folks in other threads are pointing out. Buyer beware!
2722  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: Antminer S9 FW with voltage/fan/frequency control on: June 25, 2018, 06:28:07 PM
^^ Not a bad idea to keep speeds down. One concern would be the higher current the chips will be drawing and connections to the buck inductor. Some of the miners have rather poor solder connections. The connections on BOTH SIDES of the boards should look like this and be completely filled with solder:

Many times soldering on the backside will be very marginal. If you think you can reflow the connections be aware that because of the very thick copper leads you will need a very high wattage iron - at least 100w.

Gods forbid you perhaps read one of the MANY existing threads on this... Most recent is here

Highly suggest poking around here: https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?2364269-Need-Experts-Knowlegable-People-on-12v-24-Power-Supplies and definitely read https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?2052083-On-Converting-Server-Power-Supplies-for-Hobby-Use
As long as the DC output is isolated from ground *should* be no problem.
2725  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Solo mining with an s9 on: June 21, 2018, 06:20:54 PM
Absolute easiest way to solo mine is use -ck's solo pool at  solo.ckpool.org. Ya is an oxymoron but it gives painless access to solo miners. Their thread is here I suggest you post this question there as -ck or someone else will have your answers.
thanks for answer, but i would like to mine solo without using any pool. is there a configuration that would work for 1 s9?
You missed my point; -ck's solo pool does not share the rewards among the pool users. The finder gets all rewards and TX fees minus a 1% operators fee. As Fanatic said, he just made a painless way to solo mine vs setting up your own node. And, much discussion of your odds etc there.

If out of bounds on this thread I apologize. I just can't find a good discussion or answer to the following. Since there are many Halong references in this thread and they are a primary group of workers here I ask. Can someone tell me what is the max ambient room temperature it is safe to run a dragonmint T1 (or cluster of them). I am currently using 85° F as the cap and become frustrated not being able to run all my miners. Is 85° the correct cap? All input appreciated.
The correct area is Hardware and the Halong T1 thread is here
Be aware that the first 3/4 of the thread is speculation about if Halong are legit and if the T1 even existed..
2727  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain Announces the Antminer R4 and APW5 Power Supply, Designed for Silence on: June 21, 2018, 03:26:13 PM
^^ Please READ the thread.....
The R4 has been out of production for well over a year and given their poor reliability, beware of any found on eBay or elsewhere.

The cost difference will be about half of what I pay now which factors to .138/kwh currently at residential rates. So at the commercial rate we'll be around 0.08/kwh estimated. Through the summer though I'll be interested what the cost would be for the time of use plan I linked prior as 10pm-6am is rated at 0.04/kwh (before all fees).

Also thank you for the heads up on the taxing. I have all my expenditures on file and on spreadsheet. Really hoping to be live again before ramp down if everything goes well. Should have done this months ago. There's even a special rate for industrial once I get to that point with my mining plan. Currently I could have 8 asics with the two 240v lines I installed this last December at the house. So at least room for four more. Which I have the s9i coming and have two s7's, two 821's, and one 13.5 th/s s9. Would be nice to get everything humming soon and add a couple more.
Corrections: The correct IRS guidance site is http://www.section179.org/section_179_deduction/ and the deduction for 2018 is up to 1 million dollars.
2730  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [170PH] ckpool.org ZERO FEE SPLNS no registration mining pool US/DE/CN on: June 20, 2018, 03:58:29 PM
We are pumping the PH. 238PH. Is this a new record?
Yep it sure is. Still mostly Halong, but there are a couple of newer sizeable hitters.

This is great, still waiting for "permission" to mine again. Lot's of back rubs and full wine glasses for the wife. Applied for a business licence we'll see if I can get that $0.06/kw power rate and power on even sooner.
Don't forget that as a business you also get nice tax write offs such as cost of the equipment, power, etc. If you get access to more power to fuel expansion, look at Section70.org edit: correct address is Section179.org as the IRS lets you write off up to 500k $1,000,000 per year in equipment costs instead of the usual multi-year depreciation.
2731  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: Antminer S9 FW with voltage/fan/frequency control on: June 20, 2018, 01:47:43 PM
Whats a safe TH go adjust to without burning boards out?..
Thanks
The only 'safe' speed is the speed the miner had when sold. Even then an unmodified s9 is not known for being reliable.

When you overclock you are on your own and yes, you WILL shorten the miner life even more.

Also, can i step down the 8" to a 6" duct further down the line...maybe 10 feet down the line from the inline fan?
Don't do it. These things need to be able to breathe and any kind of resitriction is to be avoided whenever possible even when using booster fans. Also beware of using any kind of flexible duct tubing - they have horrible resistance to air flow. Standard rule-of-thumb is that 1ft of flex tube has the same flow resistance as 10ft of solid ducting. Be sure to account for that.

Kind of funny they mount them right next to each other like that when their own support will tell you not to and that they are too close.
First I have EVER heard that and frankly there is no reason to separate them. The amount of heat radiated from the sides of the casing is very tiny compared to how much the fans remove. All my miners for the past several years have always been packed next to each other and I have never ever had an issue with cooling them even in 90F ambient.
2734  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Newbie Miner FIRST Rig in route (Antminer S9) - Outlet/Plug question on: June 19, 2018, 06:12:01 PM
This does not address the power question but - next time go with Canaan's Avalons, the latest is the A841. Why? Because Canaan actually has several Authorized Distributors around the world -meaning full 2-year Warranty support - and they take credit cards. In the US I prefer using Blokforge.com

For cords, most of the time I get mine from Stayonline.com who actually make the cords which have full CE/UL certifications..

When lookin at my stats page what do I go be for my "rate"? Share rate or Hash rate? Tryin to get above that Dust level. Gots four S3s running right now and the "big" AC is off. Numbers are crawlin up but it's beginning to get warm. "The power management struggle continues!"
Um you *do know* that a single undervolted A741 or even A721 will pull less power than those 3x s3's and still give around 5-6THs right? That is substantially above Dust level (and hopefully will be for quite a long while!). Just sayin'...
2736  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [∞ YH] solo.ckpool.org 1% fee solo mining USA/DE 249 blocks solved! on: June 18, 2018, 03:52:16 PM
anyone know if i can put the s7 firmware into a v9?Huh since everyone is claiming they a refurb. s7's anyways
And just *where* is this 'everyone' to be found?
The s7 and s9/T9/V9 use entirely different chips.
2737  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Canaan releases the "Moose" - Stackable unit containing 12 x 841 ready to mine. on: June 16, 2018, 01:09:13 AM
Ja. Even with them turned down a bit you are still talking 15+kW per cube. Hardly 'home miner' territory.

Hmm. I've seen similar from Mennekes but didn't know they were a standard. Nice to learn something new Wink Usually I design power inlets to use either hard wire/conduit or Harting connectors for flexible cords.
2739  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: DragonMint T1 16TH/S halongmining.com on: June 15, 2018, 05:22:00 PM
@MyRig
Kudos for your supporting the community by doing that!
However, it still raises the question of why you - a 3rd party - is doing that instead of Halong providing the support. Same with MyRig funding -ck to get the T1 driver working decently. Now perhaps you have an agreement with Halong to handle that end of things (do you?) but driver development and supplying miner access when needed is normally the manufacturers bailiwick. Publicly Halong has done zilch to build support for their own product.

did we take a calculated risk in a doggy company .. NO (to clarify that, Im saying Halong is a good company, otherwise we wouldn't have taken the risk)
did halongmining intentionally mislead us .. NO im sure they faced many engineering challenges that fort to overcome to provide us with a product
do I think halong are passionate about there product .. YES
Just keep drinking that Kool-aid then... Just how/in what way is Halong a 'good company'?
Frankly from day-1 Halong struck me to be far worse than BFL/AMT/Bitmine.ch/BlackArrow/etc ever were.

As for being 'passionate about their product' - then how about them offering help to pool ops who are interested in letting the T1 join their party, say remote access to a miner for them to test their pool changes with. Hell, even an official thread from them vs this one that began as speculation and then devolved into this would show some pride in their company.

A prime example of how a miner manufacture should run is Canaan with their Avalon miners. Hell, even Bitmain has more transparency and yes, even honesty, than Halong has shown us.

Back to class actions: Look up how the ones against AMT and Bitmine.ch went in 2014. Despite both of the companies horrid actions  - failing to deliver product at all and failing to refund their pre-order sales investomers - not pretty results.
