1: how are members going to stake on those predictions,  are we going to have a dedicated address where the the fees to take part in the prediction going to be send to and payment going out to the winner from same address in form of escrow wallet for this game.

If I understand the ops idea correctly , I think it's something that is not that complicated to understand, it's just like two people arguing on whether chelsea or Manchester united will win the match , and then decided to place a bet between themselves.

If after the game, Chelsea won, the friend that said Chelsea will win will take the entire bet, but if Manchester united won instead, the other friend who supported Manchester united will take the entire bet, but if the both team draw, then each can take his or her money back ..

It's a good idea though, but I personally do not this is feasibly, possibly because alot of activities on the forum might not allow such bet competition to last, and again, what about times when the majority of users seems to be supporting one team to win the match, it means one can't possibly find someone to bet with, which can kill the morale to continue to participate in the competition, this is just what I think though.
I understand the idea behind the game os that simple but we should not totally outride the possibility of any difficulties during the bet and from your explanation if both ops bet on each team to win,  where the game is that simple to understand because os either Manchester United win or Chelsea to win,  which will be easy to settle the bet between them both.

But in a situation where the game end in a draw how will that be settle,  or may be the bet will involve multiple members which will bring us back to the same idea as the old one holding a tournament or making a prediction pool,  this makes sense more that way.
2722  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Friendly wagers in Bitcointalk on: September 11, 2023, 12:57:32 PM
it's just that there isn't a lot of trusting going on these days between the members that aren't as established compared to the old heads here.
That’s why i think it’s should be done with someone you know before and trust, a user with some positive trades and history and after all it’s only a friendly bet there’s no harm when the other part doesn’t pay as promised and people will only avoid betting with him. I agree that old days here were better and there was more trust between users.
What constitutes a friendly bet? The winning party always expects payment no matter how friendly the bet is and things could easily turn ugly when the loser doesn't fulfill his end of the deal. I know relationships in real life ruined because of this.

It's just too much of a hassle for me. Why bother to go through it when there are plenty of bookies that are more convenient to use.
I bet to avoid such ugly scenarios that is why we proposed an escrow for the bet,  since it call friendly it may turn out that the other party will not want to keep to their own end of the bargain since it just a friendly bet.

But to give it some such of credibility,  the escrow will allow for such a guarantee that the winner will be getting his rewards,  and this is what will sustain the bet for the long term,  knowing that you get your payment when you make a winning.

The problem is is any government backing this project,  because for such project to succeed it must have the collaboration of a state,  and I think if this project want to achieve any success it then need to approach countries that already legalize cryptocurrencies and are on the verge of developing the various level of blockchain-based projects that could allow for the accumulation of such electoral processes.

Some countries have been approached with similar offers before but funny enough is that, they rebranded it and called it electronic voting,  and that is what is currently being considered in my country,  to conduct free and fair elections.
2724  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Behaviours of gamblers you dislike. on: September 11, 2023, 12:29:23 PM

Exactly, you should not be force to provide tips even there's pressure from people who are waiting for it, the money that you are using is your hard earned money, if you lose no one will give you your money back not even those who ask for a tip from you, it should be a free will that will lead you to share your knowledge but never be an obligation that you needed to provide.

Like what you said, it's annoying if someone is forcing you are requiring you to share the information, and it will also divert your focus and bother you when picking your bet.
Yeah, most people will not understand this fact because they focus more on the fact that they just want to copy your bets and if you are not smart enough you could miss calculate and lose your focus on selecting the best bets, This is why I mostly walk alone even though I mostly gamble online I still avoided getting too much engagements during the day so that I could focus more on my games analysis.

Sometimes such distractions are from physical casinos or betting houses and if you are wise enough you will avoid those places.
2725  Economy / Gambling / Re: No KYC Crypto Casinos & Sites | NoToKYC.com | Exclusive Bonuses on: September 11, 2023, 12:20:45 PM
To complete kyc is really troublesome. Handing over my legal documents to others is really risky. So I welcome this kyc free platform. Although I don't have an account on this platform. But those who have account and are using this platform should share their experience here.
It has always been a big flaup to many casinos who request for gamblers' documents for verifications but in the end leak the documents to hackers who may have them on the black market for various criminal reasons.

More also is the risk of those documents being used to commit various degrees of crimes,  putting the original owners of those documents at risk of legal problems,  so This is the reason that KYC is mostly avoided by cryptocurrency users.
2726  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is the Difference Between Plying Gambling on Online Sites and Real Casinos? on: September 11, 2023, 12:07:47 PM
Of course mate it is a different feeling when playing online casinos and land-based casinos. Both are real casinos and both have cons and pros. Even before the pandemic I still prefer the crypto-based online casinos because I felt like the house edge on land-based casinos is higher. The ambiance though in a land-based casino is a different feeling. You can hang out with your friends while gambling and having fun. But online casinos are very easy to access, you can maintain your privacy and there is no need to make an effort travelling.

But what matters here is your curiosity OP. Maybe someday you can look for cheaper promo flights to countries near you where gambling is legal. And then experience the vibes and play there yourself.
Really I haven't noticed that,  despite the fact that I haven't visited any physical casino before but I have friends that play on physical casino in my environment and some time we use to talk about football analysis and that make me know that sometimes,  while they prefer visiting the physical casino in the area I prefer to stake whatever beta I want online and also play other in house games through my devices.

But in most cases,  we win almost the same amount since the odds of same and we have a local casino that operates both online and physically and the odds offered are almost the same.
2727  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Quit gamble! Easy or Hard? Let's talk. on: September 11, 2023, 12:02:30 PM

Take for example being told you can only eat one taste of your favorite dessert. That's the whole problem with addiction, right? Some individuals may think, "Hey, just one more turn on the roulette wheel or roll of the dice." But occasionally, one becomes a hundred. It's interesting how a straightforward action may turn into a routine, then a habit, and finally an addiction. Similar to how water falling on a stone initially seems harmless before gradually wearing it away

Your concept of a target makes me think of enclosing a playground with a fence. You can play inside the fence, sure, but don't go outside of it. Sounds sensible, but what if the fence is constructed of marshmallows? Self-awareness and understanding when to fold are better than targets. Who wants to be a lifelong member of the "I Should've Stopped" club, after all?
You last paragraph boosted my bubbles and make me wanna think what the heck are we all trying out here because when we think we are in control pf the emotions and the wheel,  we tend to go overly too much to the point that we seems losing our balance and stance which make us question our ability to control our gambling tendencies.

For sure it is better never not to have a taste of an addictions tendency,  than to try to fight it,  because a lot of pleasure comes with addictions and that is what got many hucked won't in most cases.

2729  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do star players affect the odds of a match bet? on: September 11, 2023, 11:16:49 AM
Let's think of it this way;
If Al Nassr didn't have Mane and Ronaldo, they wouldn't be almost heavy favorites in every match, right?
The fact that Ronaldo and Mane's names are in the starting XI every game shows that Al Nassr are heavy odds-on favorites against their opponents, which could indicate that Al Nassr can score at least 2-3 goals every game. Looking at their last games, Al Nassr have managed to score 4 goals or more, almost all of them scored by Mane and Ronaldo.

Agreed. It's not really that hard to answer which made me laugh when the topic was raised. It's a no-brainer unless someone is not really that keen on sports gambling. The fact that these superstars are paid heavily means they are well-proven to players and they matter a lot for a team to win. The same thing when they are also injured as it will obviously hurt their team's chances of winning, unlike their other teammates who have a lesser impact on their team.

That is why it is important for teams to sign star players when they have the chance because they can bring their plays to higher levels.
When star players can give their best performance for their club, it can raise their club's rating to become one of the best clubs in the Saudi league. And of course, more and more sponsors will collaborate with their clubs and use their players to help with the promotion. This is another advantage the club can get because they can show the role of star players in raising their club's ranking in the Saudi league. And the clubs in the Saudi league know that their strategy of buying star players has worked well and soon, the clubs in the Saudi league will get other benefits.
I think the sole proponents for odds calculation is the players feature by each team and what their stand to offer against their opponents,  that is why players purchase price differs in a lot of ways,  you can't compare a team that have star players like C Ronaldo one benzema on the same team against team that have less known players that don't have any track records or winning any awards in the football industry.

Al these are the sole proponents that determine what we see in sports bookies' dashboards as odds allocations
2730  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why gambling beginners must not joke with casino announcement on: September 11, 2023, 11:02:52 AM

Thank you for your post; it should be pinned. It seems that many such casinos don't care about the long-term, and all they do is try to catch up with a high-roller, take his money, and disappear or continue scamming unless they stop getting new players.
Let me let you know one fact which is in crypto gambling or any other gambling you must not trust anyone because doing that will get you in troubles and be very careful enough it to leave a large gal ce in any casino and if you are warn about a casino,  you should be extra careful while using them.

Because in most of the cases of scams ranging from accounts lock or bonuses winning and other such crises that we have seen in recent times which have made us to be very careful about how we accept promos and bonuses that are offered to us and at that, we must be careful to checkmate our activities in online casinos most especially when we dealing on cryptocurrency casinos.
2731  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is the Difference Between Plying Gambling on Online Sites and Real Casinos? on: September 11, 2023, 10:54:50 AM
In my country there are no casinos operating because it is an illegal activity. However, many online gambling sites operate and have many users from our country. So, even though I often play on online gambling sites, I have absolutely no experience playing gambling in real casinos. I often watch YouTube about gambling in real casinos, especially about slot machines. I noticed that in real casinos, slot games do not have a buy free spins feature

Do you have experience playing at real casinos and online gambling sites? Is there a difference playing there? I want to know.
Physical casinos have lost it popularity since the start of covid-19 varus which hard the world on lock down for several days,  weeks and months,  this have pushed a lot of attention to the online gambling and what has also made this move more popular is the introduction of cryptocurrencies/ blockchain-based gambling which have open the way for more privacy and this have interest a lot of us in the industry.

So for that,  even though gambling is illegal or legal in your jurisdictions you still have the chance to gamble with any test of a physical casino, In my country gambling is not banned but the presence of a of physical casinos is almost zero and that shows how gamblers value privacy in my country.
2732  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling should be play with care on: September 11, 2023, 06:28:16 AM
People don't have statistics to play gamble and that is why some of the gambling enthusiasm do experience (shege in gambling... meaning much loses in a gambling) so it's good for gamblers to know a specific amount that should go out in their wallet weekly or monthly.

I have experienced shege banza pro max some time ago and that is why I have now come to the realization that,  if you want to be at advantage and spend less then you should reduce the level at which you make deposits into your gambling account,  this is important to guide your excesses and as a matter of fact also help you to reduce amount you stake on each game.

Recently I have drafted out a technique that works out for me a lot on stake,  which is to set a certain percentage of my income weekly to gamble with,  and if I eexistthat a balance I want to make any deposits into the account again until my next payday,  and if I make some winning,  I will withdraw everything except my percentage amount so that I can gamble further with the remaining amount.
2733  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: describe your ideal altcoin on: September 11, 2023, 06:19:48 AM
Well then since you said we should stay away from mentioning project names or coin,  this is good any ways so that some people wanting to promote they shitcoin,  won't flood the thread with of topics replies,  but then how do you intend to control the conversation here of the comment is on the topic but violates your set rules?

Since the thread is not self-moderated I bet you're going to give moderators a lot of work reporting posts most especially those that are high-quality posts.

That is by the way,  back to the discussion,  my ideal altcoin will be a coin that has a robust ecosystem that supports the liquidity of the coin to keep its price up for a long-term base,  and we already have a few of such altcoins in the market but since you said we should stay off mentioning projects name I will abide by that rule.
2734  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bank vs Crypto: Are they opposites? on: September 10, 2023, 11:04:24 PM
You tried in your definitions of both topics of discussion but you have not really taken the time to discuss the underlying relationships between bitcoin vs banks but for as much as I know,  cryptocurrencies are best alternative to traditional paper currency and more so also,  blockchain technology is the best alternative to banking systems,  but both institutions work hand In hand with each other and that is something that we have to acknowledge at all time.

But between the two, banks have been a little hostile towards Bitcoin since there have been several attacks coming in from the banks towards Bitcoin,  with some central banks making restrictions between bank involvements in cryptocurrency transactions.
2735  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Quit gamble! Easy or Hard? Let's talk. on: September 10, 2023, 10:57:56 PM
I don't know if those been addicted ever had the foresight of going to get addicted later in life before they found themselves now into it, am sure it's not something that just occurs like that, it must have started from somewhere and gradually increases till it got to where we are with it when things were already too late, this means we need to set caution to how we gamble, exhibit a disciplined lifestyle as a gambler and not be a full-time gambler without having a job or something important to get busy with.
I believe most of the addicts did not know that they were going to slide into such addictions and a few of them who are aware of the risk assessment will rather try as much as possible to get out of such addictions and give it all they could to make sure they become addictions free,  but then also,  that requires a lot of efforts and time to make it happen in the long run so for such avoidance,  one need to protect it from happening in the first place since we are all aware that,  it is easier to avoid becoming a gambling addict than trying to be free when you have already become addicted.

One of the most similar attributes of those in that addictions category is lack of decisions and target,  because if one have set target and time to discipline yourself from getting too much engage in gambling,  this will help to reduce the level of your involvement and also set a template for you to guide your gambling activities.
2736  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why gambling beginners must not joke with casino announcement on: September 10, 2023, 10:10:00 PM
This is what I don't get as well. People who have been here for months or years try casinos that cannot be found on this forum, and then complains about getting scammed the next day asking for help to identify who the operators of the casino are. It doesn't work that way; if you want to be safe while gambling, better gamble on platforms that have active threads in here and runs a signature campaign. That ensures you that they are actively communicating with the community and can easily be reached out to if there are problems that need to be addressed.
Sound so funny how majority of those coming into this board are coming with one complaints or the other and this goes along to prove that their have not really read the forum rules to know that,  Bitcointalk does not regulate scam and at that every member of the forum is left with the sole responsibility to protect themselves against scam.

Highest we can do is to expose potential scams,  so as to warn others from falling victim to such scam in the future, Newbies should understand that,  and even some of the casinos with ANN threads here with representatives can still turn out to become scams latter so we all have to be very careful.

2737  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: do anyone have done this? with gambling platforms on: September 10, 2023, 10:05:23 PM

I would say that you have been very lucky because sometimes withdrawing those 100 dollars for many have to do other things like a quick kyc to enjoy them, and that kyc sometimes takes a while, there are some users who complain about the amount of time it takes It takes a while to be able to accept the KYC, nor do they like the idea that for any withdrawal you have to comply with a KYC and even less so if it is a KYC to request a withdrawal of 50 dollars or something similar, it makes no sense to comply with it for that reason, but you have to Casinos that interest you have as many KYCs as possible in their database so that they can be up to date with what they do their license audits.

Reaallty?

Doing kyc to get a $100 out of a casino sound so extreme,  although I have seen some casino even demanding kyc before a user could even set up his account on the casino,  so I won't be overly surprise at your statement of a gambler being ask to go through kyc for a 100 bulk.

But then I will like to point out something which may make that demand for KYC to withdrawal that $100 wrong and that is in the area were the casino allowed the gambler to have played and won that amount before demanding for such kyc from him,  and that be the case it then means that this is a clear case of potential targeted attack on the player,  with the aim of confistcating his account balance.
2738  Economy / Gambling / Re: Stake phishing on: September 10, 2023, 09:50:26 PM

Stake requires email codes in order to withdraw, pretty sure Stake will allow the hacker to withdraw the lump sum in his stake account if the hacker had access to his email not just his stake account. Stake may also think it's not their fault why the hacker got access to his email and casino account. Thus no refund for it.

But this appears to be an orchestrated post in the forum about Stake. The casino got hacked as well which is not a mere coincidence, stake is targeted by its competitors.

I agree with tou on this,  stake have been the most targeted in recent time and rising crisis that have befall the casino made it more suspicious to see any further attacks as related to any form of hack to be a targeted tool to further afflict more harm to stake in one way or the other.

And looking from ops statement,  one will already know that,  stake is not at fault in this phising attack on ops account,  since if the hacker have access to his email to be able to get the withdrawal code,  it then means that the hack was an insider job.
2739  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Google Play updates its policies permitting blockchain games and apps on: September 10, 2023, 08:33:02 PM
Google playstore already allows gambling app that accept fiat currency as mode of payment. I wonder how come they restrict NFT games before while it just same with other games that has a built-it in payment method or an in-app purchase.

I doubt that there’s still a new demand for NFT games unlike before during Axie Infinity become popular but this update is still good in preparation for upcoming bull market. NFT games or new trend will have a good exposure on playstore.

PS: Please use normal font size because it’s too big to read using hand held device. It’s not really helping if your aim is better readability.
Possibly because google lack the necessary tools to integrate NFTs games into their app store,  more also now that we have some series of apps on google play stores that have been proven security threats so for that, Google may be right in trying to put measures in place to protect the app users since NFT gaming is a new development.

The demand for NFTs may have reduced because it was just a hype era and as such it won't take long before the wave resides.
2740  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Learning from those who have experience on: September 10, 2023, 08:26:16 PM

The main thing that I can learn from this discussion is about protecting yourself from addiction or staying away from addiction after signs appear such as wanting to be addicted to gambling and these signs are quite easy for us to recognize, such as every time you want to gamble, always think about a certain type of betting game and always be curious. and want to get a big win.
Signs like this are often felt by gambling addicts before being addicted and this is a very appropriate early sign if someone is starting to become addicted and I think if someone feels signs like this it would be better to tell anyone they can trust to ask for help diverting thoughts on gambling.
Exactly,  learning how to protect yourself from getting addicted is the best form of practice and this is more so when you take every possible precaution to avoid getting addicted in the first place, A lot of newbies have used the help from this discussion to learn how sliding into addictions and avoid addictions since it has been proven that it is easier to get addicted,  but very hard to get out of it.

So the best practice is to safeguard yourself from getting addicted instead of trying to get out of it, Most of the gambling addicts who have come out of addictions have taken a long time and changes to come along which not everybody will be willing to take such route.
