@Phil - Is this Panda completely just powered by PCI only?  This would be fantastic news, as I can power a ton of this without needing ATX Power supplies.  The IBM 4KW Server PSU bundle seems like a winner's choice for this.  .
yes the Panda need only PCI-E 6 Pin nothing else.

How many PCI-E sockets in total please?

seven
27202  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Review of Panda Miner coming up. on: January 04, 2017, 05:54:45 AM
Phil, some questions:

1. 4GB RAM enough? I know 8GB RAM is just nice, 16GB maybe overkill in a miner rig. Did you have to setup 16GB minimum for windows virtual file, as required by Claymore to run his miners?

2. Pandaminer paint and finish seems nice from pix -- good sturdy build? At a glance from your pix the miner is quite small.

3. From boot up -- could you see any BIOS opening screens, ie. American Megatrends, Panda? etc. Have you tried all the possible keys to enter BIOS?

4. The small "on/off" switch is tiny as per pix but I think like it this way to prevent any accidental  reboots or shutdown. Did you have any specific reasons to have the button larger?

5. In a multi-panda farm format; with some clearance on top and below, do you reckon that can easily rack the miners vertically? PSUs on top of rack?

6. What is Crimson drivers that was installed in the miner? Have you tried upgrading to 16.11.4? Compatible with W10 Enterprise?

7. Have your tried running Nicehash Windows Miner? sgminer-gm? wolf XMR miner?

Thanks

1. I was worried that 4gb ram could have issues  so I upgrade to 8gb stick.

The mobo only has 1 slot and it is laptop sized ram.  Ddr3l. Only goes to 8gb

2. The case is fairly sturdy and uses only Phillips screws.

3. It does show a screen American mega trends then the win 10 sign in reads pandaminer but there is a script that signs you in to the normal screen where you can enter a mining folder.

4. The small button needs a tool to press a clumsy person could press it hard and break it.
It could be bypassed if you break it.

5.       Psu
        Pandaminer
        Pandaminer.

On a shelf would be easy you need a 20-24 inch shelf
10 units on a five shelf rack.

The method below may not work
P p
A a
N n
D d
A a
M m
I I
N n
E e
R r

6 do not know AMD drivers

7 so far clay 91 and clay 93 and eth 7.6

I need to fully build clay 93 on a second pc. Then put it,on a USB stick then move the stick to the pandaminer and it works that way.

Since I am not the best software guy  I won't push  until I have a working clone of the oem msata.

then If I brick the clone I still have the oem.

Phil, do you have number for Monero???

Later in the week.

I want to run eth for three days in a row.

It does run hotter so I want to be sure it can handle hot ambient room temp of 96f.

As my garage is in the mid nineties .

I ordered 2 of these fans from newegg .

I think they will work  and be quieter.

not going for 9 unless they are great.

It looks like the production model changed from using the 60mm "screamer' fans in the prototype to a lower number of 80mm fans?

Cloning a working SSD setup under LINUX is trivial - all you need is DD and either the original working SSD or an image file.
Can be done under GRUB if you hand-edit the FSTAB to use standard /dev/SDx type naming instead of that bloody irritating UUID garbage (I wish I'd figured out to do that months ago).

Has five push 80 mm

Has four pull 80 mm

They are still delta and they seem to be 25 mm thick.

They would be easy to swap out.

I am running eth for around four hours slight drop in hash from 235 to 219

The garage is 96f. As I am burning 5500 watts of gear.  Outside temps is 42f

Back door to garage is open entire house is warm coldest room is 77f
27206  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: PandaMiner Launches Global Sales! on: January 04, 2017, 01:26:34 AM
Maybe Helios would be willing to setup a donation address to fund his Pandaminer OS build and ROM's project?Huh

I would love the rom and linux for this miner.

worth some coin to me.

here it is running eth on the stock windows 10 provided

note it is rig 8

this gear is a beast  234-237mh on stock settings about 1150 watts on an evga 1600 g2
27207  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Help with Antminer S9 HW errors (numbers)? on: January 04, 2017, 01:15:04 AM
Hello I'm a new miner in need for some suggestions from more experienced miners.

I have two Antminer S9 11.85/Ths and 13/Ths but they have so many HW that I understood HW is for errors count number.

The room is very clean there is no dust the temp is like 10C all the time.

I will upload the screenshot of my Antminers errors please advice.

Antminer S9 13/Ths

Antminer S9 11.85/Ths

I will upload the screenshot of the status of the Antminers to see if the latest and correct firmware is installed.

Antminer S9 13/Ths status.

Antminer S9 11.85/Ths status.

Thank you

okay they should show

your photos do not show as they are oversized shrink them to 1200 x 1000
I did fix one and I circled the important number

so for every 100.0000%   you are losing 0.0008%

the hw gets big    cause the gear mines fast.

if that number goes from 0.0008% to   0.0300%

 you may need :

 1) better psu
 2) cooler room

I assume you have an autotune s9
since you have an autotune GUI

27208  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Pandaminer -> Linux on: January 04, 2017, 12:51:53 AM
It appears that they changed fans somewhere between the prototype (that used 7x or 8x Delta 60mm screamers - that ARE very good reliability) to 5x of some sort of an 80mm fan?

I've not seen any pictures that actually showed the actual fans on a production unit though.

delta 80 mm  they are loud but not nasty pitch  they use  .8 amps at 12 volt  that is about 10 watts a fan

possible replacement

https://www.amazon.com/Bgears-Performance-Black-b-PWM-2Ball/dp/B00UTIB994/ref=sr_1_fkmr1_1?

also delta makes  a slower fan

if this can run in a 96f garage  doing 237mh for eth

commonsense means lower ambient  temp would allow for lower fan speed.

I will buy a few fans use them as push.

the unit uses 9 fans

push pull over the  gpus  and push over the cpu.
27209  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Pandaminer -> Linux on: January 04, 2017, 12:46:54 AM
WOW - I knew you will mod these 480M sooner or later!

What sorcery .... 6200h sgminer-gm XMR at 880 watt ~ 4amps !!!

And those temps -- are you for real? Amazing!

I can probably do better though..

Ha, yeah, have to admit, the panda is in a warehouse where it's around 5-10 degrees at this moment.

They're still low though, when running stock it was an average of 44 degrees, highest temp is now at 40 and lowest 31 Smiley.

Will post updates as soon as i can. Busy busy..

my panda is in a 95f garage  running  the oem windows 10  .

I updated to the latest   eth miner  from claymore for windows and I am getting  237mh  at 1125-1150  watts

every gpu reads 30 or 31 mh
27210  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: PandaMiner Launches Global Sales! on: January 04, 2017, 12:43:53 AM
It's getting interesting now..

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1736623.0

Will do an update with modified roms (probably tomorrow)..

Greetings!

Pandaminer should pay you to develop this for them.  It is clear there is a problem with the Windows licensing.  This would solve their legal issues and you would be making their product dramatically better.  Just a suggestion for Pandaminer here....

Yeah  as I see it the miner needs an enterprise edition to run 8 miners on windows 10.

even if pandaminer  purchases a 500 pc or 1000 pc key  it is 1 key  for all the units.  this would leave them very vunerable to key fraud.

If they overlay  a good win 10  with an enterprise key provided from Microsoft   it protects them from key theft.

It also leave you with a win 10 enterprise LTSB that is not activated.  This protects them from key theft but leaves the miner in a gray zone.

Back to the miner  I am running Eth now  the miner is getting 237 mh  for 8 gpus  and uses around 1150  watts  on my evga 1600 g2.

I really would love to get a good linux for this miner.

How about that BTC price.

Yeah 1020 or higher is very nice.

Problem is solved withdrawal is made.

I switch the panda to eth 237mh does pull more power about 1150 at my pdu rather then 1030 for 1715 h for Zec
27213  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: My new ZEC + XMR+ ETH thread builds info links thoughts and photos. on: January 03, 2017, 09:41:34 PM
Having an issue with bittrex.com  I use them to  mine my zec  and hold or sell it.

So I can sign in  but the emails  are not coming to say I signed in  and of course the email to authorize  withdrawals  does not come.

Is anyone else having this issue?

Luck. Is what it is luck.

I pulled the old s9s and have the avalons pointed at the pool.

I may buy 1 more Avalon and hook it up to the other two.
27215  Economy / Speculation / Re: Once we hit $1000, how far will BTC drop? on: January 03, 2017, 03:46:42 PM
We are ay $1000. We can stay a while before pushing on, but... Bitcoin is traded in many other currencies and they probably care little about $1000. I think we should be around $2000 at the moment, so I expect us to push on to $2750 over the next few months. I would not be selling any Bitcoin until $2200+ and that would only be to catch a fall.

Im pretty sure very few will be selling this cheap. If we get lightning I anticipate $25,000+ coins within 18 months.

Most people would think that a 25,000 usd  btc coin can not happen it can happen.

Would be very nice to see 5k this year.

27216  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: My new ZEC + XMR+ ETH thread builds info links thoughts and photos. on: January 03, 2017, 03:42:47 PM
I don't want the thread to be sidetracked any more by windows 10 activation discussion .

The gear comes with  windows 10 and it was altered to  windows 10 enterprise LTSB

which is allowed by microsoft.  in fact they give the information on their own website.

Windows enterprise is need to do   8 cards.

and windows won't sell you a 1 pc code for a windows 10 you switched to windows enterprise using the info given to you from microsoft

ONCE AGAIN I AM ASKING WINDOWS/MICROSOFT TO SELL ME A 1 PC CODE.

IF THEY DON'T LET ME BUY THE CODE BUT LET ME CHANGE MY WINDOWS 10 FROM PRO TO ENTERPRISE LTSB   THAT IS WINDOWS /

MICROSOFT'S CHOICE.

To further clarify this..  the  code give on microsoft's website only works on a good copy of windows 10. As per the info on microsoft's website.

So as far as I am concerned I am fine with this arrangement.  If Microsoft  has a problem  once again I am willing to pay them  for a 1 pc key.

No more questions on the software.

Some more on the hard ware.

the stock psu uses only 220-240 volts  it pulls 4.5 amps  or 1080 watts doing   1715 h

the evga 1600 g2 uses 110-240 volts it pulls  4.3 amps or 1032 watts doing 1715h

27217  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: PandaMiner Launches Global Sales! on: January 03, 2017, 02:01:13 PM
30 day warranty...sheesh.....I"m probably out.

that will end badly for a lot of folk....we all know how new miner equipment just works 'dandy' out of the box the first 30 days Smiley

sheesh..man up and make a 1 year warranty will ya?

i thought about the same, i orderd 1 unit for testing, but it will most likely stay at that one unit. I think one of the big problems is you invest quite a lot slightly more than with a usual GPU Rig but you have to take all the Risk, if a card die you cannot replace it and even more important you have no warranty. With a Rig you build on your own, you can replace each part and have warranty for 24 month.

Hi, now we provide 180 days warranty period.

I will put that in my review thread.  It is good info and a much better warranty.

I have opened the rig and look inside it.  It appears every part is replaceable.
I have yet to check the cpu.
The most difficult part to get would be the mobo the next most difficult would be the cpu as it is a mobile model.

Every other part can be purchased with ease.

I do have one suggestion  fans could be lowered a bit they are full speed and the unit is very cool to the touch.

My garage is 94f..  So this gear does not run hot when fans are at 100%

The stock psu  uses 1080 watts to do    1715 h of zec  maybe it is a bronze

An evga 1600g2 uses 1032 watts to do 1715 h oc zec  this is a gold.

The stock psu  was not hot to the touch after 25 hours run time  the wires were not hot.
So for doing zec on Claymore 9.3  it is a good psu.

@pandaminer

your motherboard is very nice.

I believe you could sell the motherboard with a cpu as a package

you could offer your motherboard with:

http://ark.intel.com/products/84810/Intel-Celeron-Processor-3215U-2M-Cache-1_70-GHz = current cpu

http://ark.intel.com/products/84699/Intel-Core-i3-5020U-Processor-3M-Cache-2_20-GHz = an i3

http://ark.intel.com/products/85212/Intel-Core-i5-5200U-Processor-3M-Cache-up-to-2_70-GHz = an i5

and a driver cd

It would be easy to ship it.
The buyer would supply all other parts.

I will pass then as I don't really need it.

At op maybe I would take it. I don't like the skull  my wife has a strong superstition about skulls.

How do you handle payment mostly I self escrow but if  that does not work

the guy right above me is good for me as an escrow.

Did you use this thing for mining?

If so, for how long?

Not much mining , but it has mined.  It sat idle over 2 years I found it along with one I sold 2 weeks ago.  Right here on this site.

I have some flex in price but not much

here was the last sale
