i started a poll on the ecoin forums....http://ecointalk.net/topic/477-a-chance-for-black-arrow-to-set-up-and-make-things-right/

if you're a batch 1 customer, please stop in and vote, maybe we can get a little something for our lost time.

Hashing for us with their bitfurys does sound pretty reasonable to me. I doubt they have enough hashing power to cover 1/4th the total ordered hashrate though.
2742  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Black Arrow 28nm 100Ghash Bitcoin ASIC from $1.99/GH/s, miners from $2.97/GH/s on: January 31, 2014, 04:47:56 AM
Well.... thats not the most implausible thing I have heard

So now that you're here can we get an official statement regarding the delays?

How will the extra 25% cloud mining be handled for us who bought through your site?

Also I assume there will be no refunds but many are wondering so a clear statement would help.

Thanks
2743  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER: Entering the Future of ASIC Mining by Inventing It on: January 31, 2014, 04:18:02 AM
  • What is the order of magnitude of 3rd generation chips ASICMiner anticipates to sell (total / first batch / first 3 months)?
  • In the new chips announcement, friedcat stated that the chip prices will be based in USD. A rising BTC price would thus mean lower dividends - since less BTC to pay the dividends can be bought from the incoming payments. What happens when the BTC price - for example - doubles, will the price of the chips be adjusted accordingly?
  • A continuation of mining would be an excellent hedge against a rising price of BTC if done by a company with access to chips at almost zero cost - like ASICMiner. How probable is a continuation of mining done directly by ASICMiner (or franchisees) and how will this be decided?
  • What is the currently anticipated long-term strategy for ASICMiner after the 3rd generation?
  • What is the status and capacity of the immersion-cooling data center, and will it house some of the 3rd generation hardware used for mining?

Excellent, I'd just add one, if I may:

  • How many shares did you buy back after you willingly let them drop to <0.5?

I can answer that one for you: none.
2744  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: {BFL} TigerDirect is making a BIG MISTAKE partnering up with Butterfly Labs! on: January 30, 2014, 11:39:06 PM
After reading Tigerdirect's Return Policy @ http://www.tigerdirect.com/sectors/help/return.asp, what is stopping someone from purchasing one of those units, mining with it for 13 days (not that it would be particularly worthwhile), then requesting a return ?

If they keep it maybe we should all let them know how refunds work in the btc mining world. When they end up with a bunch of used hardware nobody wants I'm sure they will change their mind.

Of course this would be somewhat pointless since current bfl hardware is weak compared to the competition.

And most likely TD will have a steady stream of idiots who think they will see a positive roi buying the hardware.

@Ukyo This is good news! Keep on keeping on Smiley Just want to say to the naysayers: I have been scammed in the past and I have learned that scammers stop communicating with the people they scammed. they either feel bad or are worried they will be found and tortured to death Smiley

Not sure what is worse, having a scammer steal your money and run, or have a scammer steal your money and tease you with it for 3+ months.

If you can't handle a few months of delays, you shouldn't play the game. Or you could buy an asicminer gen3 device in march but I would expect to pay a premium.
2747  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER: Entering the Future of ASIC Mining by Inventing It on: January 30, 2014, 01:41:39 PM
So with tapeout in March, what's the earliest we could see finished chips?
Tapeout in a few days

Finished chips in march.
2748  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Black Arrow - Status of pending orders - Prospero X-1, X-3, and Minion on: January 30, 2014, 11:59:03 AM
Looks like Batch 1 is delayed till May now. :|

There goes any chance of ROI via pooled mining. What do you guys think the chance will be to solo mine and nab at least one block in May? Considering Cointerra is shipping, difficulty may be greater than previous predictions no?

Zero. You will need around 100th to get a single block per month

Well, it is better than zero to find a block solo mining with less. Otherwise pools wouldn't pay anything for your contribution. The easiest rule of thumb is: How long would it take to earn 25BTC while pool mining? That is approximately how long it would take to find a block solo at neutral luck.

With difficulty increases it will just become more and more unlikely you generate a block. You will need at least 100th as to generate a block solomining. It is better to mine on a pool and get paid now rather than maybe later. Chances are you will solomine for 2 months and never find a block and have hardware that will by then be impossible to generate a block with all the next gen hardware to be released.

I transfered (to havelock) some of my direct shares 1 or 2 days before the dividends.
The transfer was successful, and on AM1 I have the correct amount of transfered shares, and have received the dividends.
However the rest of my direct shares did not receive anything.

Is this normal behaviour?
I.e. is it expected a delay in dividends if you had a partial transfer ongoing?
I'm worried they miscalculated something and my shares could have vanished...

I didn't receive yesterday's dividend either from direct shares.
I will wait a bit more before reporting it as missing.
(And I wasn't doing any operations on shares).

its too late, share price has hardly move, this is bad news, fc gave the update to stop it from sliding to .1 btc which is still overpriced. I'm afraid its all over at this point.
That sounds totally unrealistic. The price will however drop back to around .3 when the price manipulation is over.

I doubt we will see 0.3 again. 1 month now until beast next gen chips are  produced and dividends will only increase from then on.
2752  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Black Arrow 28nm 100Ghash Bitcoin ASIC from $1.99/GH/s, miners from $2.97/GH/s on: January 30, 2014, 07:45:49 AM
Oh crap, don't think I can get back my 5BTC if they deliver it on May. Best case scenario it will return 3BTC.

Its not impossible. Nobody knows what the difficulty will be in 2+ months and you also have to remember you can resell the miner for around half the original price.
2753  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Black Arrow 28nm 100Ghash Bitcoin ASIC from $1.99/GH/s, miners from $2.97/GH/s on: January 30, 2014, 07:28:57 AM
Although disappointing you can't say unexpected. Hopefully the competition will be delayed equally as long.

Anyways anyone know how the 25% extra will work for those who bought through minersource.net?
2754  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: {BFL} TigerDirect is making a BIG MISTAKE partnering up with Butterfly Labs! on: January 30, 2014, 07:05:44 AM
anyone get the TD daily emails?

noticed some poop on it near the bottom of today's..

WHAT!!!!!!!!!!!
35$ per GH/s.... I paid 28.5$ per GH/s for 3 of my Antminers U1.... But, those prices are better than eBay prices for 10GH/s jalapenos.... They didn't specify if they can't be returned or not, EVERYONE GOGO BUY 10 AND RETURN AFTER 29 DAYS!

Edit: I just noticed it says 1 per customer... Clever... Just order 10 with 10 P.O. box and under different name and gift card, easy.

Good luck returning a bunch of used hardware that way. Its not like you would even really benefit from running 10 jalapenos for 1 month. I think this is geared towards td users and not actual btc users (as we all know not to buy a bfl product)
2755  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER: Entering the Future of ASIC Mining by Inventing It on: January 30, 2014, 07:01:16 AM
More than 5+ hours have passed , last price is 0.56000000    , if it where good news price should be above 0.7 BTC

What are you saying?  How can you possibly set targets for some binary interpretation of news?

It's simple. If you own shares this is great news. If you don't own any shares and/or are trying to acquire shares then it is "bad" news.
2756  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER: Entering the Future of ASIC Mining by Inventing It on: January 30, 2014, 01:27:44 AM
Interesting, a late announcement made late tape out a great news. Is there anything new in the announcement? Great strategy.
Interesting, a late troll made late FUD attempt on great news. Is there anything troll can say to lower price? Great strategy.
I will only try my best to analyze based on facts rather than emotions. What I saw in this announcement was no different from the last one. Specs are the same and just more details. Tape out day was changed from 20 Jan to mid February.

Imagine this news was announced on 20 Jan instead of now. Will you be happy as now or disappointed?

I'm just commenting on this strategy and saying nothing about the future and price of AM shares, because Nothing can be analysed before the chips are ready. So please  stop saying me spread FUD.

Moreover, think a second about how those who panic sold feel about this late announcement. If we don't press AM to improve PR, we may be the next victims.

Did you read FC's post? 0.5-1$/gh is insane along with overclocking and high efficiency.

Yes, there was plenty new. Follow the link on Friedcat's post to see the specs on the new chips, and the hoard of people excited about it that posted on the thread and want to buy those chips. That is what has gotten everyone excited, not a late tapeout.

Don't forget mass production in march

I see a new batch of rookies getting fried in the gold rush. Smiley The people that know how to trade know the rules. Buy on roumors, sell on news.

Congrats for adopting phrases, newbies / cheapsters. You seem to have no idea what will happen (or you do, trying to talk the price down).
We'll talk again in April. Smiley

I will hold all my shares.

As a AM bull I have to agree with papi. Every time fc makes a post price spikes and then steadily decreases until next announcement. Still 0.6/share could be a great deal if all goes well. I can see 1btc/share easily.

any proof this is not a scam yet?  Grin

who received something?

They sell bitfury boards that are shipping now. Prospero still a ways away though.
2760  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: BlackArrow => Scam or not? on: January 29, 2014, 10:01:55 PM
They sold miners through card read factory many moons ago. What do you think "smallest portable magnetic stripe card readers in the world" are used for? Many people on these forums have bought their miners and we've had photos from inside their factory, saw their FPGA to ASIC development hardware, if it's a scam, they went to a lot of trouble to hire a factory and fill it with mining hardware.  Wink

Of course they could fail. Building a board and putting someone else's chip on it it easier than building your own ASIC from scratch. We saw that happen to bASIC, they delivered FPGAs, but later failed to deliver on a subsequent ASIC project.

Many in the community thought Butterfly Labs would be a scam, but they delivered (eventually), on their promises.

If you don't want to risk money in a pre-order buy a 28nm miner from Technobit with PayPal, but even he gets scammer accusations!

It's just the nature of the Bitcoin market... More risk, more reward!

Thanks for the great list of sources. I agree that this does look like bfl but from what I've read BA has a much better track record of shipping on time. I'm hoping for less than 1 month delay. Or at least before asicminer gen3 chips go up for sale.
