Or they could host bitfurries for everyone starting March 1 until we get the Prospero Do they have enough to host to compensate everyone for the amount of THs each person ordered?
If they host the bitfuries there will be no money for prosperos.

Wow, just wow. May? ? 25% for 4 months??#$!% I had 3 miner pre-orders that I deem likely to ship by 1Q - the Prospero 3 batch 1, BFL Monarch batch 2 (late but cheap), and AMT's 1.2 Th/s unit. If you had asked me a month ago, I would have said BA 90% by March, BFL 50% by March and AMT 25% by March. My how the world has changed!! AMT shipping in a couple of weeks (maybe already started), BFL on tape-out looking likely to delivery within a month on first batch (!?) if they aren't lying, and BA? Well, sorry. BA just got BFL'd. And KNC? They might as well not even show up to the party. So much for reputation in this industry; it looks like success is a one night stand in ASICland.

They've cited W/Ghash & user experience as the delays. I don't think many of the customers will be as concerned with the features regarding the user experience or the power consumption but moreso the feature of mining crypto currencies at the rate specified on the date specified. It is unfortunate that that date is not able to be made because the new date doesn't allow one to make a return on the investment. This is unfortunate, and this news will very negatively effect my life. This is a great deal of money I've invested in this company and this miner. I've only done so after spending literally days convincing myself that as risky as it was it was worth it given my estimates. The biggest gamble was being able to trust the company's word on their release date. Now that I feel like I have no hope of returning this money I can't describe how frustrated and sad I am at knowing how many hours of my life I worked to make money I'll never see again, because I put trust in black arrows confident production statements.

I don't believe W/Ghash & user experience were the reasons. I believe they just could not do it and were buying for time.

So disappointed, thought Black Arrow was one of the "Good Guys" in the mining business. We are "ahead" of schedule, we're "on target"....
All Lies!
No wonder they danced around all questions, and remained mute for last month or so.
Guess no Asic manufacturer nowadays can keep their word, promises, or truly remain transparent to the customer.
Overpromise, underdeliver is the mantra of the mining world...

I do believe BA were the ones who jacked up the Drillbit boards on Barntech's project.

bobsag - any thoughts? It would be interesting to see if this sort of deal (and/or the refunds) can be filtered down through Minersource as well...

Even then it won't be competitive versus AM chips based on efficiency. IMHO, BA needs to halt production ASAP, offer to refund what they can and offer customers a chance to recoup via investing in a farm using AM chips. BA chips are not going to be here on time or be adequately efficient.

A 32% difficulty increase to infinity is a little extreme, no? The network hashrate has to approach linear growth eventually.

hey I just got an email from black arrow saying the 4 machines I ordered for almost 25k USD is going to be delayed for 3 months and be delivered with batch2. I immediately submitted a ticket saying that was unacceptable and they could either deliver my miners on time or refund me.
anyone else get that email?? I'll copy paste for you guys :
We have to inform you that our schedule to manufacture and assemble the system has been disrupted and we are unable to make delivery of the Batch 1 Minion ASIC chip on the initial scheduled date (end of February). We are now expecting to dispatch all Batch 1 orders on 1st of May 2014.
Please be re-assured we are confident that we have tried our best to accomplish our initial ambitious targets. However, we came to the conclusion that it is in the best interest of our customers to delay shipping in order to ensure that the product provides the best-possible user experience.
Without this delay we would have achieved 1.5W/Ghash which would have meant that our chip would not have been competitive at all.
We have now finalized the design process using our newly improved code and will start manufacturing the chip (tape out) in the next few days.
We are happy to announce that Black Arrow Software’s products remain on target for being the best in their class for power consumption. We confirm that our latest improved design has the following technical specifications:
·0.75w/Ghash on TT corner @ 25C which is expected to run at 120Ghash/sec.
·SS corner will be 0.6w/ghash and will run at 100Ghash.
·A further underclocking and underpower should be possible and should yield 80Ghash @ 0.5W/ghash. However, please note that this is not guaranteed to work stable.
Please note, that a further push for improvement in the optimization process would have guaranteed further delays for at least 1-2 months.
It is no secret to us that the Bitcoin mining process is proving to be more and more difficult every day. To compensate our loyal customer for the unforeseen delay of in delivering our miners for batch 1, we are happy to offer free extra hashing power which consists of 25% of your purchased hashing power from our Rent-Some-Minions cloud program for 4 months.
The account for the tape-out has been settled in full and we are confident that the delivery will be completed shortly.
We are taking all the necessary measures and positive actions to expedite delivery to you as soon possible and we are confident that we have the resources to be successful.
Please note:
·We estimate that the delivery for the Batch1 will coincide with the delivery of the Batch2
·The delivery of Batch2 remains unchanged
·The one-off offer presented above is open to the customers who placed orders for Batch1
Sincerely,
The Black Arrow Software Team

Although disappointing you can't say unexpected. Hopefully the competition will be delayed equally as long.
Anyways anyone know how the 25% extra will work for those who bought through minersource.net?

Oh crap, don't think I can get back my 5BTC if they deliver it on May. Best case scenario it will return 3BTC.
