Where are all the banners of old women holding up block eruptor blades? I really used to enjoy those whenever FC made a State of the Union speech.

Regardless, I think it will be difficult for FUDsters to find a black cloud in this silver lining, but I am certain many will try.

How does the W/GH and price/GH compare to cointerra's offering?
I can't find info about their power consumption.

According to one of the first recipients, it hashes at 1.7 Th/s with 2 KW draw.  Although a firmware upgrade is suppose to increase the hash by 20% and decrease power by 20%.

Full devices from ASICMiner are definitely going to exist on the form of samples and small batches. ASICMiner may also build new mining farms based on new chips. Unsliced wafers may also be available for sale. But the main business direction is to provide packaged chips.

- This is the future of AM business, mining is on left for others , AM will focus on hardware sale. Posts like this make me laugh : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=438359.msg4820725#msg4820725
- Price is low and must be competitive, profits will be also low , unfortunately
- How much profit can you get from 0.49$/G-0.99$/g range  ? top will be 10$/chip.

Brief calculation (minerpumpkin) :

10 000 000/400 000 =25$/share/month
At 1000$/BTC = 0.025BTC/share/month
At 0.3BTC/share ROI=1year. If price of BTC goes up, ROI = bye bye.

Subtract all spending's, investment for next generation of chips.

My assumption is that we will never see 0.02BTC/share/month and ROI is ~2-3 years for all the shares bought above 0.4BTC

ps ...Please take this as a personal opinion , I own AM shares.

I will buy 20 shares at 0.5 BTC from you if you are willing to sell, and I can bet 1 BTC that the profit will be more than what you predicted there, will you go down against me on this one ? you have 1 hour to think about it ...

If friendcat's design pans out it looks like AM chips will be about 3x as power efficient.

Haha. Same here. I even transferred some to Havelock.

For those constantly asking / complaining about the transfer time: I requested on Monday, and friedcat confirmed the transfer today, just before dividend payment. I do not remember how many requests I have sent so far (plenty), and every single one was executed well within a week and before the next dividend payment.

Cheers to ASICMINER and all of us with balls of steel! Smiley

Update
The tapout date is pulled back to early Feburary due to further modifications for robustness and stability, but mass delivery date is still March.

Hello, first i want to thank you for the update. but some question for the curious:

How does this work, a later schedule for the tape out but no change in the timeline for mass delivery? As far i understand chip manufacturing it takes around a day per layer and there a over 3 dozens of layers to be processed?

The chinese new year.  Not taping out on-time doesn't matter when all the fabs are shut down.

So funny. In case anybody is wondering about the sudden dumps.

TAT just listed the recently transferred shares on Havelock (including mine. Big thanks to TAT for the swift action!). And the morons instantly dumped them.

They will regret it. Cheesy

Edit: To avoid confusion: I transferred 14% of my direct shares to Havelock to be flexible in a big rise. Not that anybody thinks I had turned moron also... ^^

This calc is FUD, IMHO.

As Btc increases in price, FC will just mine.  If hardware sales ROI > mining ROI, then FC sells hardware.  As more newbies join Bitcoin, FC will sell hardware at an ROI > mining ROI.

Congrats for adopting phrases, newbies / cheapsters. You seem to have no idea what will happen (or you do, trying to talk the price down).
We'll talk again in April. Smiley

I will hold all my shares.
