It's not that there's huge 40k resistance it's traders being cautions on upping each other to be the last one being dumped on. Interesting cat and mouse game so far, I wonder where this will lead within 24 hours.
You have totally misunderstood what a prolonged tight trading range with very high volume means. Take a look at the charts on MintPal and do a little TA on 24 hours, 3 days and 1 week periods. Which part exactly do you disagree with? We had huge volume sub 25k just 48 hours ago, I don't think all the buyers from that range have exited. Resistance at 40k is visible on the charts going back 3 days, also so is the rising support trend. So which information are you looking at to deduce your analysis? just wanted to know why is buy sell so big difference? sell 38400 and buy 37555  Someone constantly selling for as low as 1000 under the lowest sell order, i'd guess w/o having watched it. Someone who would benefit from a "mini-dump". are they retarded  The guys on the buy side are accumulating heavy. A big push from here in 40k range is a near certainty. Net effect. You need BTC or LTC to buy BC. BTC/LTC are not steady at all. BTC will go down for a while (everything about the future is speculation, so I can be deadly wrong!). Most people actually do not want another major pump/crash but steady rise.
