Well someone did a very impressive job at creating the ultimate eth kernel, and now this dude is blatantly reselling this piece of craftsmanship: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1205258.0 because he needs money! Holy batman copyspeed kernel, who made this!? I just need to know how it was done!

i posted a couple of questions to see what the answers will be ...

so far - nada ...

i have also 'heard' ( by means of pm ) that the whole thing is a ripoff and contains a trojan that will try and hack your wallet accounts ...

genoil - the chances are that if you and the other devs are having one hell of a time to get THOSE type of hashrates - then the app ( and the guy doing it ) is a lie to try and scam people out of their btc ...

in this case - it certainly is ...

be careful guys - especially windows based miners ( unless its from a well respected dev ) ...

and tanx to those of you who messaged about it ...

#crysx

Looking at the GPU usage on the screenshot I don't think it's legit.

For n-factor 15 I get:
750 Ti: 1.26khs (-L 5 -l t5x16)
970: 3.27khs (-L 10 -l t13x24)

N-factor 16:
750 Ti: 0.53khs (-L5 -l t5x15)
970: 1.15 (-L 14 -l t13x28)

Correction: the numbers above are from Ubuntu with stock speeds and not from Windows.
Actual Windows + OC hashrates for N factor 16:
750 Ti: 0.36khs (-L 9 -l t5x14)
970: 0.97khs (-L 19 -l t13x23)

The N factor 15 hashrates are much closer (Win7+OC = Ubuntu Stock).

So yeah, LEO is linux only from here on out.

The warranty procedure will going to be a mess I suppose. I'd be interested in a list of products if possible.
2745  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: CCminer(SP-MOD) Modded NVIDIA Maxwell kernels. on: October 13, 2015, 11:15:56 PM
I use 4 x 970 (GV-N970WF3OC-4GD) cards plus 2 x 750 Ti per rig with a single high quality PSU (I refuse to use low quality/low capacity PSUs anymore). The 750 Ti's being anything but Gigabyte OC cards (GV-N75TOC-2GI ) because I had 3 out of 6 of them die on me in about 15 months while having zero issues with Asus and Msi cards. Even though the Gigabyte cards have 36 months of warranty, it take quite some time to replace them.

I've been used Gigabyte GV-N75TOC-2GI since it hit the market. I got 24 of them on 4 rigs. I run them overclock 24/7. Then, 2 of them died (broken fan) during this summer and I noticed that those cards were above the processor. There is extremely hot around that area. If I build a new rig in future, I'll move those cards away from the processor area.

I know a lot of miners like to overclock their cards maximum and they always push the fan faster to lower temp. However, they don't know the fan cannot handle it. In my exp, run at stock clock in the summer and do whatever you like in the winter. For me, I better buy 1 more GTX 750ti than overclock 6 x GTX 750ti to get a extra free card.

That's was not the issue in my case. I had them at 60°C temp target with about 70% fan speed and I don't think they ever reached 60°C and all 3 of them died the same way; computer randomly frooze, after restart the cards weren't recognized at all by the PC and the fans of the cards weren't started either. Also, there was a distinct discoloration (big brown spot) at the back of the PCB on all of them (even on the working ones) at the same spot. It's possible I might just had a bad batch but there's others out there with the same issue which makes me believe these cards are just simply terribly designed with subpar components. Also, I've never had any issues with any other Gigabyte cards (660, 780 Ti, 970) and any other 750 Ti cards (MSI, Asus). Edit: Also, the hottest parts of the cards were only around 70°C, measured with an infrared gun.

bro, this dev posted a topic without even look if the pictures are working and after that he left. He did not give 1 answer or reaction he just logged off, if any1 take this serious he's stupid.

☆ICO☆

No thanks. Funny how these scammers doesn't even take the effort to explain why they would need the money from the ICO and what they would spend it on. They just need money to buy shit I guess.

Last I checked scrypt-jane in SP's fork didn't work.

LEOcoin was stupidly profitable a few months ago but for a few weeks now it's not that profitable and now with nicehash adding it, it will probably keep diving.
The next n-factor increase will be in 38 hours though (n-factor 16) so don't spend too much time trying to find the best n-factor 15 config.

As a tip though, the fastest kernel launch configs are based on how many SM units a card have:
750 Ti's have 5 so the fastest launch config will look like t5x?, 970's have 13 (so t13x?), 980 have 16 and the 980 Ti have 22. With the correct lookup-gap of course.

I'm using an old version of sp_'s fork (somewhere around commit 800) and added a few basic command line arguments that are helping with scrypt-jane mining like being able to start autotuning from a set amount instead of having to wait from the beginning (so you can start autotuning from like t13x1), added another one that allows setting how much GPU memory ccminer can use (which is 88% by default on windows and 98% on linux), reintroduced the batchsize parameter since it was replaced with api-bind which slightly speeds the hashrate up. Just basic things saving some time and allowing to change stuff without having to recompile each time.
If someone need it just let me know.

For n-factor 15 I get:
750 Ti: 1.26khs (-L 5 -l t5x16)
970: 3.27khs (-L 10 -l t13x24)

N-factor 16:
750 Ti: 0.53khs (-L5 -l t5x15)
970: 1.15 (-L 14 -l t13x28)

These are for windows with oc, linux.

explain to me what your idea is bathrobehero ...

im interested in diversifying - but dont have very much support on my end either ... though my ideas are not taken 'kindly' by some due to their pockets not being filled 'immediately' instead of long term ...

thefarm is growing - and i am interested in hearing what else can be done with some of the assets i have at my disposal ...

a coalition was something i wanted to get together for so long - yet greed posses most ... some have the unfortunate and inevitable issues with keeping afloat due to the massive expenses that are accrued when maintaining a mining system ( let alone an enterprise ) ...

pm me if you will - or post here ... but i am interested in what your idea is for this coalition and what it will attain in the long term ...

which is where i always aim - long term ...

#crysx

I did that enough already and I gave up on anything like that long ago and I'm just running my mouth at this point thanks to mixture of a few fine drinks and boredom. For that matter, I also long gave up on everyting else even remotely serious I've mentioned in both of the ccminer threads because I haven't witnessed a single agreement between devs (or miners) in any of the major topics yet. I'm not blaming anyone though, especially as a miner (even though I think I paid my fair share of donations) but I can see why someone would see this place being full of shit.

Granted, I had a few but I have to say I'm completely lost sp_ if your comments were aimed at me as I have no idea what you meant by them.

nah. My bad.

This forum is full of shit.

I'm always open to non-shit conversations. Other than that, the 'Ignore' button is a great tool to make this forum a tiny bit better.

Whether you spend too much time depends on how much profit you make.

I say 'too much' based on how much hardware I have at my disposal, which is currently not much (~3kWh).

Another offtopic question: what is your most profitable card to get depending on your region?
Edit: where I live it seems the 970 has kicked off the 750 Ti off its throne a while ago.
I think you know the answer. Why do you ask?
I'm mostly curious about the significance of regional differences. So should I wait for the 980/980Ti cards to decrease in price or should I just stuck with the prices I'm given.
Mine and dump etherum(the donut coin) with the slow public kernals... works everywhere, and still profitable....
Ethereum was only profitable for exactly 2 days for me and even then only on paper since I have windows rigs and Genoil's windows miner had (and probably still have) significant issues with the dagger file with 750 Ti cards.

Yes. you seem to have inside information. No 750ti card need to load the dagger file... I leave it to the radeon farms. Free lunch

Inside information? No, I'm a solominer in every translation of the term and even though I've tried to gather a handful of reputable miners to form a coalition of miners multiple times (look a few hundred pages back, lol) for the sole purpose of sharing the most profitable coins/algos, it never gained any momentum so I'm as alone as I could ever be. I just simply spend way too much time on researching coins.

2757  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: GeForce GTX 900-series power consumption discussion thread on: October 07, 2015, 10:40:16 PM
Just replied to your PM, @ltc_bilic.  I see you are overclocking the memory quite a bit on those Gigabytes.  I think I have the same cards as you, but I only overclock the GPU, not the MEM.  We'll see if it makes a difference.

Overclocking the memory never gave me any noticeable increase in hashrate in any modern algos. I'm curious if you can achieve a higher hashrate with it though.

Oh, and the 3rd Gigabyte GTX 750 Ti just died on me last week (with the same symptoms).

Be aware that the Darkcypher Dev is already deleting posts in his thread.

Use this thread as an unmoderated thread to discuss.

At this point pretty much everything that is starting with dark is just a joke. And of course it's an ICO full PoS coin so there's that.

I wouldn't go ham on that one, 1.07 BTC could dump the price to 30 satoshis because that's all the buy support that exists for that coin (https://bittrex.com/Market/Index?MarketName=BTC-J).

Agreed. But since everybody is mining the wellknown algos, there are small blockchains out there that can be mined with a good profit with little hardware. 1 year ago we had several multipools wich dumped all the coin they generated for BTC. With most of the multipools gone, there are some possibilities for the satoshi hunters Smiley

That is the main reason why I have ROI well below a year; mining coins under the radar of multipools and plug&play miners. You should have just put a couple of cards solomining it so its market could absorb your selloff long term. Now it will probably get dumped though.

probably got broken when Vanilla was released... not a big deal to fix though...
(most likely not using the correct constant... or something like that...)
btw: whirlcoin is kinda dead (was never alive actually...)

yes, but the algo is being used in other coins. Joincoin is one of them.

With one rig of 6 750ti's you will have half of the global net hashrate of joincoin-whirlpool

Joincoin is $0.06 a piece and 9600 coins are generated every day. (576$)
