I've always long suspected this was the case happening on this forum. If you aren't familiar with them here is what I'm talking about:

http://forums.somethingawful.com/

They are "trolls" who troll each other  regarding funny shit and the like but they once in awhile take up causes that attack other people as we've seen today. I think there should something on a "users status"  on this forum that signals the member is associated with SA ( as we do with scammer labels) so other forum members know who they are dealing with ( in a good or bad way ). If this isn't done I think we are setting a bad precedence for the future of this forum and yes Bitcoin in general. At the very least create a sticky that lets people know who are current forum members and their affiliation to this group.

I know making such a request will bring them out in full force but it's a risk I'm willing to take  Grin

That is ridiculous, in so many ways.

and I'm wrong how?

The easiest way to do it is to just click the link they provide, instead of filling it in yourself.

The "click here" link doesn't work Sad
2744  Other / Beginners & Help / Intersango support ? on: August 28, 2011, 04:29:39 PM

2745  Other / Beginners & Help / [Resolved] Mt. Gox & Dwolla on: August 27, 2011, 08:52:54 PM
Hello all,

I've successfully deposited money into intersango & campbx    how does one deposit into Mt.Gox?

I see Mt Gox gives you information to send to:

You can send funds to:
Account number: xxx-xxx-xxx (click here to send funds directly)
Account name: Mutum Sigillum LLC

You must include the following message: MTGOX#xxxxx

I don't get where this goes? any help would be great!  Smiley

Figured it out!
2746  Other / Meta / Re: Scammer Label on: August 26, 2011, 11:28:16 PM

so a group of people called the scammer out and the mod's change their status?
2747  Other / Meta / Re: Scammer Label on: August 26, 2011, 11:23:07 PM
when someone gets labeled like this on the forum is it for real or what is this?

=========================================

It's when someone is proven to be a scammer.

wow! that is pretty intense thanks!  Grin

edit: who determines this?

I think we're seeing an enterprising scam to get bitcoins here.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nSAd26y8A_Y
"OpPaperStorm is an operation to spread awareness of Anonymous and our goals. To do this, we will post flyers and such in public places."

..right...  nice way to get that bitcoin donation address spread around.

As the Anons don't even know each other.. who's to keep the owner of that bitcoin address accountable?

It could be anybody posting their address as Anonymous's address.  Great idea.  Get Anonymous mad at you.   Grin

Judging from the genius regularly displayed by posters in this forum, I wouldn't put it past someone to try it.

lulz  might just be the thing we need to break bitcoins!
2750  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: ‘Anonymous’ – Now accepting bitcoin tips on: August 24, 2011, 05:49:17 AM

I know right!  I was really surprised I think the press is starting to turn around a little bit seeing that Bitcoins is still around  Grin

Ok, all yes so maybe this wasn't the best conference but it was the FIRST keep that in mind! To blame Bruce isn't doing anyone any good. Grant it I was one of the few waiting for streaming of the event "live" also and was dissapointed!  but this only means things get better from here! Grin

Paco Ahlgren moved the article to his economics blog. Here is the article's URL:

http://www.bottomviolation.com/bitcoin-cannot-fail/

he removed it again ...I think you are on to Satoshi ?

No worries, I have the full page saved in my computer. Complete!

wow, you saved it!? good job!  Satoshi is on the run!

Yeah, when he moved it from his main website to bottomviolation.com i suspected he might do it again, so i saved it Wink

Here you go
Code:
http://coinbits.com/bitcoin-cannot-fail.html

Save it for you before i get a DMCA! lol

lol'd  yes, thank you for saving it!   watch out for a DMCA!

You guys really think this guy is Satoshi?

if I had to go out on a "limb" I would say yes this guy is Satoshi - reason?  the moving of the article around + closest thing to making sense = Satoshi

I'm just interested in why you want to do this? hack the wallet?

more interested if its possible ... meaning have an empty wallet and take the private keys offline and bring them back when necessary..
