I hope to sell 3-6% of my total MSC holdings (5000-10000 MSC).

How is the selling going, JR?

Seems like it wasn't the best idea to do it this early  Cheesy

2743  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Question on BTC-E commission on: January 12, 2014, 05:09:24 PM
BTC-E has a commission of 0.02%

So, I asked for 0.01 BTC, and it gave me 0.0098. This means that it's deducted the 0.2% from BTC

The "standard" fee is 0.2%.

Announcement
I want to announce two new Bitcoin to Mastercoin exchanges.
I created the Dutch www.koopmastercoin.nl and the world wide www.mastercoindirect.com.
The reason I made these websites is the low volume of Mastercoin trades at this moment and to make it easier and faster to buy Mastercoins.
Both websites use a simple 'send and receive' payment system, so quick and anonymous trades without the requirement to create an account.

Please feel free to give me any comments or ask me any question.

- Jeroenn13

We are trying to make the purchase of Mastercoins easier and quicker. If you want to use our services feel free to do so, if you don't want to then don't.
Thank you.

Lol, I always love the progression from "I" to "we".

They also merge threads occasionally.

Not sure if theymos or justmoon ever use this feature, but for mods it is disabled. But we do split threads from time to time.
2746  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: www.bitstamp.net - owner has denied your access to the site. on: January 10, 2014, 03:08:34 PM
Not very wise of you to place so much trust in any single exchange (or person).

On how many exchanges are you?

My point is entrusting anyone with one's own life savings is not the most prudent decision one can make (to put it mildly).
2747  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bitstamp - wanted to withdraw money and was hit with these weird KYC questions on: January 10, 2014, 12:46:47 PM
I would take my business to a different exchange if I were asked questions like that (glad that I'm not using bitstamp).

How would someone submit a receipt or invoice for a miner that was bought 2nd hand?

Or if someone mined with GPUs and sold them in June/July at the latest when it was no longer profitable to mine?

I don't think I'd be able to document the majority of my holdings as they were either GPU mined long ago, or earned from trading on now-defunct exchanges, or from offering goods or services to businesses or individuals whose identities I no longer know, or have never known.
2748  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: www.bitstamp.net - owner has denied your access to the site. on: January 10, 2014, 12:27:56 PM
Now this gets me worried of course, not being able to go into the website that has all my life-savings.

Not very wise of you to place so much trust in any single exchange (or person).

No payment yet. Malevolent emailed him yesterday.

TomatoCage is rarely wrong my friend.

Sorry for your loss.  Sad

I know haha. I will wait for the outcome.

Thought the guy could be trusted since he had positive feedback from a staffmember.

Got a reply from him: he said he will return the money around Monday or Tuesday because he hasn't got access to his wallet now.

We'll see. Roll Eyes

BTW, always check the links referenced in Trust feedback, if you followed it you would see that I was very cautious while dealing with him:

OK, you just proved that you at least controlled private keys to those addresses at some point in time. (because I have no way to know that it was signed just recently) Wink

Next time try signing more specific messages, e.g. "forum_handle + current_date + last_blockhash message for bitcointalk.org, requested by user malevolent"

Now that you posted it publicly there is a (small) risk that someone may try to use it to impersonate you, remember to always sign messages that are very specific.

Thank God I made my investment back and I had invested in NXT.
This is doomed...
And I still hold >300MSC and have many friends convinced to invest @0.25
Again NXT saved them (I invested for them there too).

This is probably the end...

(NXT, eMunie and most of all XCP).

The end of what?
The distributed exchange will be launched in a few weeks, this will be the start of Mastercoin.
Selling through the Dist. Exchange would be a better idea for everyone.
Dream on - I have 15 years experience in software houses as a developer (not competent for sure but I know how projects are professionally build).

This is a dead end clusterfuck - I hope I will be proven wrong because I have hundreds MSC at stake...

You don't talk like a person with hundreds of MSC at stake.

Go fuck urself

Could you sign three messages, one with each address?

Thanks

I don't remember people panicking as much with deepbit in 2011.

did deepbit try to double spend on a dice game?

There were no dice games to double spend on at the time, but people are forgetting two things:

a) it is possible to double spend with less than 51% and for some reason...
b) ... it happens very, very rarely. Miners don't have the incentive to undermine peoples' trust in Bitcoin.

2756  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: BTC-E.COM Is it a scam and who are they? on: January 09, 2014, 01:09:06 PM
Haven't had any problems with them, though I only use it for trading, and I don't perform fiat deposits or withdrawals.

You're not the first to come with a similar idea and so far it doesn't seem like you are providing anything to justify the $2.5M valuation, I think you should reconsider your numbers.

2760  Economy / Services / Re: John (John K.)'s escrow service (previously known as johnthedong) on: January 08, 2014, 04:47:36 PM
Tis troubling that he hasn't at least popped in to say that he is busy. Does anyone have John K's contact info?

As I said on previous page, pekv2 migh have his contact details (because he leaked John's email address few weeks ago), I also found John with those info on facebook but haven't bothered saving the info anywhere, so I wouldn't be able to contact him now.
and he is online on facebook?

I did not add him so I don't know if he was/is online but he uses it occasionally judging by his activity there.
