Not to deflect from the playoffs but what's everyone's take on chet holmgren.  Personally think he is too frail, but reading a ton of "analysts" and they love the kids prospect to be a huge impact player.  Kid looks like he is gonna snap, and can't see how he defend against the likes of the centers and power forwards in the league.  They will bully him into injury.  Kinda glad the Knicks are in the 1-4 hole they would probably draft him lol.
2742  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: May 19, 2022, 10:50:33 PM

I'm disregarding any analysis for now and won't be in my usual bettor mode.

I will just place my bet on the Dallas Mavericks regardless of the odds because I want to.

In the whole playoffs series, the Dallas Mavericks never won a Game 1 yet. I like them being an underdog for an odds boost. They might lose on this Game 1 but my bet is still for them. I'm really biased at Dallas Mavericks since then. Smiley

They got smoked.  Golden state on a home playoff game is tough to bet against.  Luka is gonna need a ton of help this series, not sure I can see how Dallas can come out of this series even if they take the next game.  Dubs are just too good at home.

I think this might be a sweep honestly aswell. Goldenstate is much better in every possible way and i think Luka Doncic cant play alone in this series against them. Hopefully they can win at least at home to try and make things intresting against the Warriors

Yeah I want to lean that way but I thought the same against the Suns.  I will give Dallas the benefit of the doubt just not in Oakland.  They need to obviously be able to sneak a win on the road I just can't see it.  They don't match up well against GS like Memphis did.  Gon a need someone to really step into superstar shoes for Dallas to have a shot....and I mean someone other than Luka obviously..

Tonight gimme Jimmy and the Heat at home only laying 1.  Think I'm gonna hit each home team in this series so long as nothing wildly changes

What is going on in the crypto market? The stable coins are no longer stable. The market is still in a bearish zone, but when things return to normal, and we'll see the bulls?

Not for a long time.  Bears sink their teeth in and everything is unstable during.  Best to stay out of flimsy plays in keep your core position in bitcoin.  I'd say we are a good year or 2 of disappointing days, get ready for it.

Hitting the over.  I don't like the spread line and ML isn't worth it to me.  At golden state and without the constant pressure that Memphis put on them I can see the dubs putting up a 120 here tonight.  That means Dallas just needs to show up to hit the over.  I just hope it's not a blowout either way to be honest.  Like nice tight games in the Con finals. Enjoy the games peeps

The '22 NBA draft lottery concluded just moments ago. Orlando Magic won the lottery and will pick first in the upcoming draft which is set for next month (June, 23). Most draft boards have Chet Holmgren as the future number 1 pick, he is a big man that can shoot/space the floor, but also a very good shot-blocker at 7'0 ft, 3.7 blocks per game in college. Jabari Smith and Ivey from Purdue are two outstanding young players which are projected to be lottery picks as well. My favorite prospect from this year's draft though has to be Paolo Banchero. He has the size, the athleticism, excellent passer with an alright jumper coming out of Duke, and is possibly the most NBA-ready player. Interesting to see where he lands, lots of upside, him to Houston at 3 looks good imo...
Just finished watching this and also checked different mock drafts.
Chet in the favorites as 1st pick but I think Orlando Magic's missing piece is a great shooter and Jabari Smith might fit that hole. Then, I doubt OKC Thunder will pass on an opportunity to get Chet Holmgren. I think he will be a good pair for Shai.
3rd pick for the Rockets which I think will be a difficult decision. Ivey or Banchero. I am guessing it will be Banchero to add more height because they have lots of smalls already.

Chet is gonna be a flop.  Kid is gonna sit on the 3 point line and if he thinks he is gonna bang down low against the likes of embid and protect the rim its gonna be cringy.  Those knees won't hold up against a rigorous nba schedule and the physicality he is gonna see.  Just don't see how he ends up good against grown men.
2747  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Which collectible creator is responsible for 'locking up' the most crypto? on: May 18, 2022, 04:06:15 AM
Not that it represents "the most" but an honorable mention for loaded coins should be the 1,000 monero gold coins.  Think there was a quantity of 10 made.  At its peak that had to be $5mil locked up in 10 coins or something around there.

2748  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: New LUNA vs. Classic LUNA on: May 18, 2022, 04:00:58 AM
Does anyone have good info on the new proposed LUNA vs. classic LUNA?

Whatever quantity you bought before the crash, when the total # of coins in circulation was 764M should be converted to New LUNA, 1 to 1.

Whatever you bought after the crash, when they started diluting the hell out of it by adding 6.7T more coins should be converted to Classic LUNA, 1 to 1.

Any thoughts?

My thoughts on this is, it's rediculous.  It's a failed project period.  They tried, got exploited why would you go backwards.  Plenty of other "good" projects to lose your money in 😅.  Seriously it's mostly garbage so without looking old and new luna should be sent to the graveyard too.

So I know conf finals start tonight but as an avid knick fan....it's lottery night!!  Knicks with a 10% shot to jump into the top 4.  I'd love to see them hit in the lottery and get a wing like bachelor or Jabari Smith.  Would take ivey too, so many holes to fill on the team.

Sorry just as a knick fan every year this is a big night for us.😭

I don't know that tonight is the lottery night?

New York Knicks ended up in the 11th spot this season in the Eastern Conference so I think it can be expected that at least they can get the draft rights for the top 6-10 or much better in the First Round. But if they did some trade before involving trading this off-season their future picks, maybe don't expect good.

Are they cleaned from any trade in the 1st round draft pick? What I mean is, that they will get the rights of their pick with no prior trade arranged during the current season? Damn, am I explaining it right? haha.

Yeah the Knicks hold the rights to theor pucl this year.  Next year they have theor own and dallas's first pick from the kristaps trade.  Was hoping they hit the top 4 but low and behold 38 years since they won the lottery and moved up.  Knicks luck on lottery and draft picks is terrible.

Jimmy at home didn't disappoint, 40 piece for game one.  3rd quarter they destroyed the celts.  Just one game and I expect a tough back and forth series here.  This could be one of those series that each home team wins out.  Good game 1 so far.
2751  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: May 17, 2022, 11:17:38 PM
I'm taking Miami-3.5 at home and nabbing the under.  Think it's gonna be a tight game with key injuries on both sides.  Just like Jimmy at home for game one

After leaving incredible matchups behind in the conference semi-finals, we see these ones in the current stage:

Miami Heat - Boston Celtics
Golden State Warriors - Dallas Mavericks

I believe each one of them is going to be hell of a series. For the first one, I'm favouring Celtics to advance the NBA finals. After seeing how they believed and performed against Bucks, I also started to believe they can at least make it to the finals. And for the latter, I don't have any favourite for now. But if Mavericks play like this again then Warriors had better be ready for a huge challenge.

Has to be a dead heat.  No pun intended there.  I picked celts to move past Miami but it can just as easily go the other way.  Miami has been clearing teams out.  Jimmy B is playing as good as I've ever seen him.  Gonna be a fun series either way.
2754  Economy / Economics / Re: Buy? . . . Nah, hang on a minute. on: May 16, 2022, 11:42:29 PM
We've been told to buy when the price is low and sell when the price is high. This is pretty much the thumb rule in trading.

But that is not without conditions. It isn't absolute. It doesn't always guarantee profit.

Let us not forget the RISK. And risk correlates with volatility. High volatility means high risk. And since the crypto market is a volatile market, the risk is higher here than in the stock or FX market.

So, the "buy=low, sell=high" strategy only works when you successfully manage the risk.

You can do that by:

1. Investing less than 5% of your total portfolio in crypto
2. Prioritizing other aspects of your finances ahead of investing in crypto
       - emergency fund
       - retirement savings
       - high-interest debt payment

In other words, invest only what you can afford to lose.

To sum it up--"Buy when the price is low and sell when the price is high, BUT invest only what you can afford to lose."

It may not guarantee a profit but it can help cut down loss when the bear attacks.

Giving percentages without knowing a situation doesn't work.  I mean someone who can literally hemmage 90% of their money and still be rich might want to put more than 5% in crypto.  Or someone who is rail thin with margins in their budget might not want to even invest in crypto.  Either way the real risk management lies in WHAT crypto you have in your crypto portfolio.  Putting 5 % of your portfolio in shibaElonDaddyInu coin or whatever makes no sense.  So it's the crypto which needs to be monitored.
2755  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: could TERRA LUNA go back to $1 dollar? on: May 16, 2022, 11:37:46 PM
There are so many questions that I come across about Terra Luna. starting from whether to rise again? will it return to $1 ?
and I also can not respond because of my limited knowledge about this.
maybe here friends can explain a little about the possibilities that can happen to this Terra Luna coin.
I will appreciate any of your opinions. because good conclusions can not be drawn if only done alone. it requires collecting data from multiple sources and many people.

Not a chance.  They liquidated themselves into a complete mess.  Too much coins now for it to ever even sniff anything near $1.  People will talk about it for a bit and eventually it will be worth zero.  Don't bother
2756  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: PoW coins vs Non Pow coins on: May 16, 2022, 11:34:58 PM
I want miners opinion about PoW altcoins and non PoW altcoins, do you think that Proof of work projects are more reliable than other projects that people raised money for? Which is more likely to fail than the other? It seems IEO and ICO projects die faster than mineable coins, the only PoW coins that failed are bad from the beginning (shitcoins) what do you say.

PoW is at least "fairly spread".  I know it requires hardware which limits people's ability to mine but tokens and ICOs IEOs or whatever else when you just give people bitcoin or eth to buy the token it breeds scamming.  Those tokens are created in minutes, promoted like hell then drop the project and move to the next.  Are there decent ones out there?  Maybe but nah no thanks.
2757  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Shiro Go: New Move To Earn Coin, Let's Go With SIRO on: May 16, 2022, 11:30:53 PM
Another pointless coin amongst the sea of crud.  How many copy/paste ideas do we need here?  I'd be surprised if the same "team" isn't behind all of these coins coming out.  But just like with everything else, people will buy it and eventually lose money.  Wash rinse repeat.
2758  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Your NBA Champion this season? on: May 16, 2022, 11:28:07 PM
Now that we are down to 4 teams I didn't expect any of these teams to be left lol.  So if I had to pick I'd say it will be golden state versus Boston, with golden state dominating the series.  Don't like golden state, but I thought Memphis was the best team in the field and GS took care of them.
Surprised me too. I didn't expect the Mavs to be in the Conference Finals or maybe even the Finals if they can defeat the Warriors.
I am happy they took care of the Jazz because that team really sucked in the playoffs just like last year. But defeating the Phoenix Suns? That's some feat they showed there and I bet they are all full of confidence now which is good.
It will be a difficult road though from hereon as they will be up against an experienced team who made it to the Finals many times and they are hungry again.

The Warriors may become the champion again.

If I'm being honest I had the mavs counted out first round, I thought they matched up oddly against the Jazz.  This feels kinda like the year they won ot with Dirk.  Wasn't buying in until they just kept rolling in the playoffs.  Don't get to see Luka day to day so it's been a pleasure watching the dude Ball out.  He's different
2759  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are you buying the dip? on: May 16, 2022, 04:08:47 PM
Major cryptocurrencies have been on a downfall this past week, as investors lost confidence on Terra (LUNA). Bitcoin, as well as, Ethereum, Cardano, and several other "blue chip" coins are being traded at a discount these days. This could be a huge buying opportunity before prices bounce back to their original levels. If Bitcoin is predicted to reach $100k, then imagine how altcoins will rise in price. Buying the dip might be the best thing you could do right now. If you're into crypto for the long haul, you'll know what I'm talking about.

That said, I'm curious to know if you're buying the dip? If so, I'd like to know which cryptocurrencies do you think are worth the investment for the long term and why? Your input will be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Smiley

Always buying the dips just not Alys right now.  There is a ton of downside risk for alts I think this just started.  Stacking sats right now but beyond that I think you are just throwing away money.
2760  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Celtics vs Bucks 2nd round Series. on: May 16, 2022, 04:06:30 PM
Boston Celtics now finally end the series. I don't know what happened to Milwaukee Bucks.

Still, this series is hard to predict at the start as both teams are doing well. The Celtics will now face the Miami Heat at the Eastern Conference Finals.

Salute to Giannis. He did his best. Milwaukee Bucks will come strong next season.
Giannis has always been doing his best in all his games, but i guess today's season is not really for his team. Bucks wilted and made bad moves, and end up defeated by the Celtics. I guess many have expected that Bucks will win this game, and that Celtics are the heavy underdog. But oh, it turned out that the prophecy of Celtics' coach made into reality, and that they end up the game sweeter than in their previous games.
Bucks were able to give a good fight on the Celtics despite missing Middleton, so even if they lose, it's not really that bad because they tried their best to be in the conference finals.  Giannis is the best player of the Bucks, but no enough support from his teammates, against the Celtics team where everyone makes a great contribution.

Yeah Middleton would have definitely changed the series.  Too much on giannis to lift the heavy bag by himself.  Jrue is good, real good but not enough to spell giannis on a down game or 2.  Boston surprised me and taytum is top 10 in the league, possibly top 5 right now.  Dude is unbelievable.
