So any update regarding the injury of Kevin Durant?

I think this is a serious matter that we need to discuss because if that injury is so bad and he will be advise to miss the remaining season, the Nets will certainly not be the same team anymore. Durant and Irving were the stars that was carrying the team to where they are now, but without Durant Irving will not make this team a playoff team.
To be fair, Nets will not be playing well with him or without him. Sure they had a good stretch for a while, but Lakers did too, and nobody thinks they will win. Durant being the best scorer we have ever seen, doesn't mean that they are going to win. Look at last year and how they lost even with Durant on the floor, because one guy is not enough usually (well maybe except Lebron).

So all in all, Nets with him or without him will be a bad team, and he should relax and recover properly and not rush back into playing. If he rushes back to make it to playoffs and try to win, the likely chance would be them not winning anything anyway while Durant injuring himself a lot worse.

Durant is going to be re-evaluated in 2 weeks. He has a suspected MCL sprain in his right knee. A shame because the Nets were just starting to get it together. They lean pretty heavily on Durant so the next couple of weeks are going to be rough on them. Hopefully Simmons and some of the other guys will be able to step up and score some baskets, but I wouldn’t hold my breath.

Yeah they were rolling, this is just going to be a fact of life for him.  Tall bodies as they age never tend to age well.  Their goal should be to get into the playoffs and limit his minutes when he gets back and then unleash him for the playoffs.  Might be worth betting on kyries per game point totals from here on out.  My guess is that he gets 30+ shot opportunities a game with Durant out.

Couple games live got to my picks a little late.  Today it's a mixed bag of home and away games.:

Home:
Pacers -5 against Charlotte, Pacers are playing real solid right now they should take this game
Memphis -8, this should be a blowout

Away:
Nets -3.5, they are rolling why not keep riding them
And minn -2 at Houston.  Wolves need to win these games if they want to sneak back in to the playoff hunt.  They win this one easily.

Good luck everyone.

2-2 last night not good not bad I guess.

As far as tonight I like 3 teams (and possibly a 4th)

Gimme Memphis-10.5 tonight gotta ride them
I like Sacramento at home -6.5
And last I like Nuggets-9.5 at home against the Lakers.  I mean who is going to control jokic lol.

And last my knicks were favored by 2.5 and now all the way down to 1 vs the Bucks.  We all know Bucks are good with giannis but that's a big swing against any home team.  Knicks are rolling...I'm going against the bettors and laying on the KNICKS TONIGHT!!

good luck everyone.

Everyone pretty much nailed it but there is no way to spot the next revolutionary idea from inception.  There are plenty of ideas that sound good in theory but when made practical does not work for one reason or another.  Bitcoin was one of those once in a lifetime ideas and made practical in real life.  If it were easy we'd all be rich 😀
1784  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What Is The level on impact of FTX crash on Your portfolio? on: January 08, 2023, 10:21:23 PM
Every market situation always have a high impact on alternative cryptocurrencies more than Bitcoin, this is due to so many features that differentiate Bitcoin from altcoins.
Even though alternative cryptocurrencies are best for short-term speculation and not meant to be held for long due to their unstable market reactions.
So the question is.
1: What is the impact of FTX bankruptcy sega on your
    altcoin portfolio?
2: what is the level of your portfolio recovery because I am well aware that some coins have started recovering already,  but we can't be certain how long that recovery will last.

I mean unless ypu literally had coin on the site and completely lost it then you could determine it.  But in terms of price going up or down you can't specifically say it was directly related to tlftx closing or not.  Am I missing something here in terms of what you are asking?
1785  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: January 08, 2023, 10:14:58 PM
Early games in our timezone again mate. But if Joel is not going to play against the Pistons, Detroit might steal this one, they are the underdog obviously at ML, or 4.5 to 5.5 for them is not that bad.
Oh yes, just finished checking the games for tomorrow.
One at 4 AM and another at 4:30 AM. I am not even awake at this time. No choice but to put our early picks.  Cheesy

Will try my luck with 76ers Embiid-less. Let's see if Harden could at least carry the team while their big man is resting from his foot injury.
Detroit Pistons - Philadelphia 76ers - 76ers -5.5

I don't know why Portland Trail Blazers are an underdog against the Toronto Raptors. I am guessing the combined homecourt and hunger of the Raptors to win because they are now on three losing streak.
Will take the favorite Raptors -3.5.

James Harden is literally carrying the 76ers by himself tonight, he's doing it all, Philadelphia 76ers are leading by 15 points 90-75, and James Harden with triple double already is the joint most-point, joint-most rebound, while also having the most assists in the game so far.

The Raptors is also up by 5 points at halftime, but the game very far from over as the Blazers aren't just going to go away that easily in the second 45 minutes.

I'm going with the Brooklyn Nets -2.5 vs Miami Heat for tonight, the Dallas Mavericks -4.5 points is also something I was willing to give a go on, but definitely not with Luka Doncic out.

Yeah Luka out in any game and Dallas is bound to lose, they aren't a very good team without Luka starting and actually Dallas is +4 not -4.  Either way I was looking at okc -4 at home , Dallas is going to lose a game during this streak why not this one.
1786  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: January 08, 2023, 09:47:53 PM
It's looking good for the Chicago Bulls and for their fans out there.
3rd a winning streak. Zach LaVine is sizzling hot. Yesterday 41 points were against the 76ers and now a hot 36 points against the Jazz and defeating them in the process. That's a back-to-back game for him and yet there's no trace of exhaustion.
With him playing like this with most of their games, they will go back to a higher seed in speed. Now, they are sitting at the 9th spot but that should not stop there.
Their next stop is against the Boston Celtics on the road, it will be a rough game for them. Offensive duos will clash at TD Garden.

Yep mate, that's what I have predicted that's why I chooses the Bulls to win again against the struggling Jazz team. Remember that there are rumors that he wants to be traded, but we are not sure about it. But with this performance of him and DeRozan, it's hard to stop them if both star players are playing that offensive basketball.

There were anxious moments in the game wherein I thought that they are going to lose specially at the start of the 4th that they are still trailing. But in the last 8 minutes, both of them turn the game over, they made a run and they build a 10 point lead and that was enough to hold off the Jazz late rally.

If both stars will play in the same level the winning chance of the team is better, those trade rumors might cooldown for a while and we
are seeing good performances from Lavine and DeRozan.

Like you said, if they will continue playing like this and those role players who are playing with them will also contribute decently.

They can move back on top and chase for the playoff spot, too early but hopefully they will.

I keep hearing lavine talks to new york but why would the bulls give up on Levine?  I think it's all talk and click bait.  They knicks have 7 first round picks in the next 5 years but lavine's spot as a guard isn't what the Knicks need.  Depending on how obi rebounds from injury, the Knicks need another viable power forward.  Lavine ain't going anywhere.

Hornets game was a bit weird. I mean you would expect Bucks to play better, but at the same time I really didn't expected Hornets to play this well neither. They played one of the best defences I have seen in a while, the fast breaks after the turnovers caused so much scoring for them, it was really an insane period.

I would expect Bucks to have some bad days, that's normal and nothing weird with that, but to have Hornets play this well? That's very rare and not going to see that again for a while. So, when you have one of the best teams in the league, playing against one of the worst, and the worse one dominates? That becomes something seriously good.

Yeah I went with the Bucks my only loss last night.  That's the NBA though right any given night.

In other news how boutique my NY Knicks with a big win on the road against Toronto who has been playing better of late.  Nice string of wins they are putting together.  They need to try to close the gap on the top 4 teams, they need to rip off another 4-5 games here.  They are looking good so far.
1789  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: January 07, 2023, 10:44:39 PM
Couple odd lines tonight I don't know which way to go.  The only pick I'm convinced is a lock is the Spurs at home +15.  This smells of back door cover all day plus they have been home so this should be an easy cover.

And I'm taking the Pelicans on the road.  Dallas can't keep ripping at this rate I expect a close battle here.  Pels getting +9.5

And last gimme the Warriors-7 at home against Orlando.  That's a tough trip from the east coast.  I like this game.

Good luck everyone!

If it does it won't be on a huge scale.  Nothing is moving 20x in this market that went from micro to small cap to get it to large cap.  Right now it has around a 10btc daily volume which isn't much so it can be manipulated that high with the right pump but it will never be sustained.

Well I was hoping the gD BE CONTINUED AND WE WOULDN'T HAVE HAD TO DEAL WITH THIS BUT OF COURSE THATS NOT THE CASE.

Typeing on shit kybd at casino sry.

So I wont be home until maybe tomorrow, I left when the game got postponed.

This is obviousley unpresendated terrirtory as in the past it was assumed games would always be completeleted and have even when players have died. So the league is changing their stance without prior notification and are openeing themselfs up to liabilities which I don't doubt will e settled in court with big players.

Even Damar Hamlin asked who won after he woke up and was told what happened so there was even an expectation from him.

What really sucks besides the guy dropping dead is this had culmilated into one of the greatest matchups in fantasy to date. all the stars aligned for the top players to all be in a position to put up huge numbers. I was really expecting some massive numbers for my number one and 3 pick in this game and am pretty disappointed that we cant see an exiting end.

As Southpark offered I'm of the opinion a tie is the most appropriate outcome.

I guess we could play the gme next week if he wants and I would be fine with that but I relly dont know how playoff contentions and such would effect the play time next week and I have no way to check the teams as I don't have the password with me for the league.

Its weird I had this trepidation about this game and couldn't understand why as its not that important in the scheme of things but i just couldnt shake the thought of something i couldn't put my finger on.

Anyho this is the first game in history that a injury has effected and entire industry.

In some high dollar leagues its getting bad in terms of what to do lol.  And you are right there is an insane amount of stars that could move the score: Allen, Diggs, chase, Higgins, burrow, Mixon, etc.  All capable of putting up big numbers.  This league specifically is a tough call because of the players involved and the points as of now.
1792  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: January 06, 2023, 07:39:58 PM
The next All-Star NBA game this 2023 season is right around the corner, and regarding the updated voting I think Lebron James and Kevin Durant was still the favorite to be captains of the team, and their guards for the West is Stephen Curry, and for the East is Kyrie Irving, surely enough I am excited about who's going to be MVP again, I have seen that Russell Westbrick was on the list and many are complaining about Austin Reaves getting on the list aswell, which is I really think seems OK and surely Shai Gilgeous-Alexander have made it while he is extremely great at playing at the Oklahoma City Thunder,

While here is the list for the All-star voting for now, I really don't know if this is updated and I have just seen it on the news,

All star voting is a complete joke.  Austin reeves as an all star lol.  And on the east Derrick rose doesn't even play!! (And I'm a knicks fan).  Sometimes it's more just big market voting since there is mass in numbers of fans.  All star game is fun to watch in the 4th quarter but before then it's a little meh anyway.  Every year professional sports all star games get worse and worse.

A good Friday night lineup and liking a bunch of games here.  Here is what I have so far:

Pacers -2 at home vs Portland.
Nuggets -5.5 (how can't you bet on them all the time!)
Spurs -1 against Detroit.  They played NY tough I expect that to end with a win here at home.
And last Bucks-10 at home vs Charlotte.  Ginnis to get a solid 45 pts to run Charlotte off the court.
1794  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: January 05, 2023, 10:51:01 PM
It looks like i'm the only one taking the plus points on Magic +8.5 @1.61  Cheesy the odds keep on shifting to the side of the Grizzlies but I prefer the Magic to cover the spread as they still have a solid ATS record.

Both teams with limited rest and even though Grizzlies had a blowout win in their last game I still think they'll have a hard time in Orlando after the upset that happened from their last meeting.

Honestly this is one of those games that I'm more apt to pick the magic as well.  Again I think Grizzlies come in lax and any team at home getting almost double digits isn't all that bad.  As long as orlando can keep it close they can cover with a backdoor win at the end of the game getting garbage points.  I'm in on orlando

Damar Hamlin is showing good progress on his recovery, which is great news as some of us feared the worst, and is now awake and even communicating in writing, and while he still has a long road ahead of him it seems he is headed in the right direction.

Source: https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/nfl-week-18-picks-best-bets-bills-cover-in-emotional-matchup-vs-patriots-cowboys-sweep-commanders/

Sorry I didn't see that, I should have checked.  No worries here, as long as you guys are okay waiting.

It looks like Saturday's and Sunday's games are still on the schedule, but I don't see any indication of whether the Bills and Bangles game will be resumed.
I think it is about time we talk about this, if the game between the Bengals and the Bills is played then there is no issue and whoever scores the most points is the champion.

But what to do if the game is canceled? Which by the way seems as the most likely scenario at the moment, one option would be to take the posture yahoo is taking and accept it as is and move on, and in that case the Q/Cows will get the win.

However while I am not an expert on law practice, there is a concept called an act of god, which allows for a party to not be held responsible for their inability to fulfill their contract obligations due to extraordinary circumstances, so our informal social contract which can be roughly described as 'a group of NFL fans that agreed to compete on a weekly basis by selecting players to try and see who is the best among them during the 2022 football season' cannot be fulfilled anymore if the game is not played, using this reasoning I would have no problem splitting the money with Hueristic in half and declare two champions or no champion at all.

But this is not for me to decide so I am interested in hearing the opinion of the rest of the members of the league about this.

In another league I'm in it was just conceded as the points that were in were in.  Other leagues were blowouts they just ended it with no drama.  The difficult part for ff leagues is when I player is only marginally losing and has superstars yet to field, Diggs, chase, burrow, etc.  Definitely a wierd way to end the ff season for sure.  Glad to hear the kid is awake and holding his families hands that's a great sign.
1796  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: January 05, 2023, 07:10:07 PM
It's even surprising that the Lakers were able to beat a team like the Heat without LeBron and Davis. However, it should be noted that it's been almost halfway through the regular season, but the Lakers are still struggling, and it looks like the second half of the season will be tough for them because they still don't even qualify for a play-in tournament. As for Schroder, he performed really well in this game, but it's a pity he rarely performs that well.

Since the Los Angeles Lakers are "consistent from being inconsistent" due to several factors including missing key players, a tough road to securing a playoff spot is one of the biggest tasks that they are facing right now. As you mentioned, they are even not qualified even for a play-in if we based on their current standing.

On the other hand, Miami Heat is disappointed with how that game turned out even playing in a complete lineup. Supposed to have a big chance of winning against the handicapped Lakers but end up in a bitter loss.

Happens all the time I think it's a mental thing.  Going in knowing lebron and AD are sitting out, I missed gbling games yesterday but I would've laid on the Lakers.  Bettors and vegas never take that into consideration and the spread always is out of line.  Not everyrime but when a group of stars are out a lot of times the young guys are hungry to prove they belong knowing it might be theor only shot to showcase it.

No is covid shaming anyone here?  Is there the typical twitter fight between both sides of this discussion haven't really been on social to see what gross things people are saying about this.

I'm not suggesting that anyone here is shaming anyone else, just speaking generically.  It does seem like it's rather difficult to get decenting opinions from experts through the normal media channels and on social media.  Anyone who isn't fully on board with the vaccination recommendations is dismissed as a conspiracy nut.  I may be or may not be a conservative, a conspiracy nut, a right wing zealot...  but all I'm asking for is information that isn't politically tainted.  This is a health issue, not a political issue, but it seems impossible to find information that isn't filtered through some political agenda.

Anyway, on a positive note, today's reports about Damar Hamlin's condition suggest he's improving.  That's the most important thing right now.

Yeah I literally stopped reading anything that says vaccination on it and tied to a situation.  It's so politically charged its annoying at this point.  It would be nice if there was just good old reporting without biased but those days are long gone.  I honestly can say I don't even know what is happening in terms of covid/vaccinations at this point I stopped reading, too much garbage to sift through.

And yes boy looks like he is on the right side of recovery for today so that's a good thing.  If anything I hope this leads to are protective game for the kids high-school and younger.  Those are the most vulnerable in the sport.

I miss the 80s/90s era with defense and hard fought games.  Imagine Jordan playing in this era where a simple hand check is a foul.  That's why all these guys are scoring 50, 60, 70 points.  The level of play isn't better it's just the lack of defense that's prevalent.  The NBA, and all major sports for that matter change rules to encourage scoring which enhances the entertainment for the average fan.  Me personally it feels more and more like an all star game than anything, which isn't a good thing.
1799  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏈🏈 The American Football Discussion Thread 🏈🏈 on: January 04, 2023, 03:18:53 PM
I've heard reports that suggest a significant increase cardiac arrests among young male athletes who've recently been vaccinated.  One particular cardiologist, Peter McCullough has been talking about this for quite some time, but finding information through the usual channels is hit and miss.  There're are plenty of news sights that post articles picking his theories apart without actually mentioning what his theories are, but very few that a seem willing to discuss his concerns without bias.  Here's one relatively neutral article:

https://survivalmagazine.org/news/wellness-company-headed-by-dr-peter-mccullough-requests-to-release-damar-hamlins-vaccine-status-as-part-of-any-investigation-into-this-tragedy/

The unfortunate truth is we don't know if this was a result of the vaccine, covid, or something completely unrelated.  We've been hearing for well over a year now that there's a high risk of myocarditis in young men resulting from the vaccine.  We've also been told that it's temporary.  I don't know if Damar Hamlin was vaccinated recently, but it's certainly not wrong to have the discussion.  As a father of a 21yo son who's physically active, it's something I find rather concerning and so is the effort to shame me for being concerned.

No is covid shaming anyone here?  Is there the typical twitter fight between both sides of this discussion haven't really been on social to see what gross things people are saying about this.

What is the crypto projects in top 20 that will fail to retain their position in the next bull market? There is a saying that in every bull market new projects will take over the top 20, do you think another project can rob the positions that Avalanche, Matic, Polkadot and Solana tomorrow?

Easily and probably will.  There is no way the top 20 stays the same.  There will be a new fad and new coins get mega pumped just like in every other cycle.  One thing is almost certain though, bitcoin will end up in first just like it always has.  That's why altcoins aren't meant for bag holding.
