Many of the changes brought by theymos few years ago were very good ones in my opinion. DT has been very centralized before and in my opinion, the current trust system is more aligned with Bitcoin's decentralized approach. It should be possible for everyone to have a vote in DT, while scammers or trolls can still be restricted quickly, therefore it was a good decision from theymos. A decentralized DT will also encourage participation. I'm in favor to change DT1 inclusions to determine DT2 and increase required inclusions. Only one DT1 inclusion can be easily abused and 2 would be better for sure. If there's still abuse, present in on Reputation and DT will review it. That's DT's job. But I'm not sure if clearing our trust lists to achieve changes is really necessary. Why can't our moderation simply give a statement if they are in favor of changing requirements? Creating a new topic on Meta should be enough but since lots of things are taking extremely long, like our new forum design, I'm also clueless what to do. Emptying our trust lists just to get a response from the moderation is a bit too much. We all know the trolls are still around and they can activate their accounts very fast. In case of an attemped hostile takeover we would have more drama than with our status quo. Trolls, scammers, sigspammers are just waiting to get back to their business. It's a shame anyway that some accounts are spamming for 1xbit while being negged... If there's a tipping point and they can take over DT, we might need a reset from theymos. Similar for some centralized shitcoins.  I'm not in support to risk it, while I'm still for more required inclusions. Since DT is discussed here, I would like to add some more points: - Bring back a column for "risked BTC amount". It's very useful and maybe some people might give out "nice guy" feedbacks less leniently. - The current space for feedback text is not enough. We can barely describe and justify some trusts. It's currently limited to 3 rows, can't we make it at least 5 rows? I know it got abused by trolls when they posted walls of 50 rows or more but 3 rows are almost nothing. Or increase available rows per account rank. Up to Full Member get 3 rows, Sr. Member 4 rows, Hero 5 rows and Legendary 6 rows... - Increase limits from 10 / 250 Merit to 50 / 500 Merit. Merit scores are increasing daily and are far away from the meaning when DT was changed. 10 Merit is obtainable by almost every troll account very quickly.
But I know the fewer the DT members, the stronger the system and the more easy for it to be hijacked and turned into a gang or a cult.
Again, if the larger the DT members, the less powerful and maybe effective it will be.
For a more decentralized system, each DT account will have less power, which is effectively better in case someone turns out to be a scammer / hacked. I would compare it to Bitcoin and Shitcoins: Bitcoin is very decentralized, many nodes and even miners. Shitcoins are reliant on a few (trusted) nodes, often hand picked by the developers. Very centralized. A few nodes going offline / malicious are a big problem. Take Solana how often it crashed down. Effective is for me, to weed out scammers while enabling broad participation of as many accounts as possible without DT getting easily compromised. |

Ja, Gondola, Hurrican Swap, Lydia Finance usw. waren ziemlich der Reinfall. Da gibt es nicht vieles, was aktuell noch gut aussieht, am ehesten vielleicht Trader Joe. Bei Pangolin, Kalao, Benqi Finance und anderen DeFi-Projekten sieht es ebenfalls nicht so gut aus. Und meint ihr wirklich das die Avax Chain noch wirklich gebraucht wird wenn die ETH2 Sache perfekt anläuft ?
Weil Staking und Tokenburn ist ja nun nicht alles was ein Projekt können sollte das auf einer Chain gelistet wird.
Auch NFT's werden eines Tages verschwinden bzw. uninteressant wenn Leute merken sie sitzen auf den "Bildchen" fest.

Was passieren wird, kann man natürlich nie mit einhundertprozentiger Sicherheit vorhersagen und dass so Müll wie Shiba Inu aktuell wieder vor Avalanche steht, zeigt, dass der Markt einfach nicht rational ist. Man liest ja auch das es extrem weniger Transaktionen auf der Avax Chain gibt. Von 50% weniger usw. geht man aus.

Very good idea. I've totally missed these boards like Bitcoin Discussion or Altcoin Discussion etc., where spam is still an issue. Good point. Bringing a campaign there could have a considerable impact. Fortunately, my Nigerian local board is still a growing community compared to several other boards on the forum, there are no none spammers and low quality posters in my local board that I know of, else, I would have applied to join the campaign.

Macht euch das inflationäre Konzept ohne geplante Begrenzung der Coinanzahl nach oben nicht stutzig?
Ich hatte leider noch keine Zeit, mich mit Aleph Zero im Detail zu beschäftigen aber beim ersten Check kam mir das auch komisch vor. Es gibt aktuell ca. 300M Aleph Zero auf dem Markt, jährlich kommen 30M hinzu, also 10% Inflation. Das ist dann, zumindest nach dem aktuellen Stand, nicht viel besser als Polkadot. Dass diese über das Staking an Staker zurückgegeben würden, führt ja bloß dazu, dass Staker immer reicher werden gegenüber Nicht-Stakern, was eines der bekanntesten Nachteile des PoS ist. Außerdem verliert man selbst Geld durch Reibungsverluste, Steuern und Gebühren an den Node vom Delegieren. Wobei ich nicht weiß, ob Aleph Zero eine Gebühr zum Delegieren hat. Siehe auch: PoW vs. PoS – was verhindert Akkumulation vieler Coins bei reichen Besitzern?Das hat Avalanche mit dem 720M Coins Limit gelöst aber wenn es bei Aleph Zero 30M jedes Jahr sind, würde es zumindest über Zeit immer geringere Inflation geben. Ist halt einfach ein Nachteil von PoS zu Bitcoin. Bitcoin ist als Wertspeicher überlegen, die PoS-Coins haben mehr Funktionen (DeFi, NFT etc) Im Moment scheint es, dass Aleph Zero nicht als Wertspicher punkten kann aber dafür mit den Anwendungsfällen. Aber wie gesagt, zeitlich hatte ich nicht alles durchgesehen und erst einmal alles überflogen. Vllt kann jemand die Zahlen akkurat auflisten, was Dev Premine, etc. betrifft.
Und wie viele Devs hat so ein Team normalerweise? 30 Leute klingt irgendwie nicht allzu viel für die ganzen Roadmap-Ziele...
Die Liste der Devs kann sich schon sehen lassen und ich denke, dass sie aktuell das Team noch aufstocken. Von Avalanche kann ich dagen, dass die Größe des Teams zu diesem Zeitpunkt ähnlich war. Alo in Sachen Devs sollte Aleph Zero gut aufgestellt sein. |

I haven't seen any post he makes regarding vaccines, would you mind sharing a link? I don't say a word for vaccine's effectiveness, because I don't have any evidence to support my statement. Yes, I haven't seen him making posts about vaccine's effectiveness as well but my point was since he's making accusations about restrictions being too much, the vaccine being pushed too much, he's commenting on the assumption, that Corona would be "just a flu" and that restrictions / vaccinations wouldn't be beneficial. That's why I said: = He can’t judge the outcome properly (measures to prevent Corona / vaccinations), when his basic assumptions are wrong already because he’s not capable to do the appropriate research. And that’s why DerGigi's conclusion ("the whole systemic propaganda that was launched and that had a terrorist character" as you said) is completely wrong.
Of course, governments will launch a campaign to recommend vaccination because studies have shown it's beneficial. Today, almost no restrictions are in place anymore in Germany, infections numbers are 20 times (!) higher than last summer and still only few restrictions like mask and test in hospitals to protect vulnerable groups, so I can't see "Agenda or tyranny". There are misguided politicians yes, but as NotAThether said: politicians are very different on various issues. A society where you will agree to everything doesn't exist. And even when it's your neighbour doing bullshit and you don't agree with. If you are talking for China: yes, it's a different thing in China and we could describe it as "tyranny" indeed in China, when people's frontdoors are sealed by the CCP. But how can we try to improve posting quality in addition? I've tried to come up with various ideas and the one presented here is what should achieve the most impact, in addition to my 1miau Merit criteria. Even if we can improve posting quality only a little bit, it would be beneficial for everyone.
DT support DefaultTrust has nothing to do with post quality: The system is for handling trade risk, not for flagging people for good/bad posts/personalities/ideas. That's true, DT has nothing to do with posting quality and it was not intended like that from my site, so maybe you got my intention a little but wrong but how do you measure support from (quality posters / established accounts) for an idea? Merit? (I don't know if Merit should be used for "supporting" something and a Merit coming from someone like you has more weight that a Merit coming from a scammer) Established accounts? (how to measure that) So, I was going for DT as a general set of established accounts, nominated from a decentralized way of determining "good judgement for leaving trust". I’ve tried to incentivize a good posting quality in our German local board by my 1miau Merit criteria, where I’ve outlined points resulting in Merits and points making it much less likely to receive some Merits. Anti-Merit-Offenses (translated) Anti-Merit-Offenses will reduce your chance for Merit massively: - Unnecessary use of "Denglish"*.

Interessante Zeit die uns da bevorsteht. Bin am überlegen ob ich 50% meiner BTC nun in ETH wechsle um dann die / den fork mitzubekommen.

Das ist mmn ein Ritt auf der heißen Kartoffel, ETH hat BTC im letzten Monat überdurchschnittlich ausperformt (+40%) und jetzt durch das bekannt werden des Forkes ist mir das auch klar warum, da hat sich wieder jemand vor der Bekanntgabe (Insider) eingedeckt (reine Annahme), so wie bei jedem Fork bisher, die Gier nimmt da überhand und es zahlen die drauf die zu spät eingestiegen sind. Gute Punkte, Ethereum ist bisher beachtlich gegenüber Bitcoin gestiegen und so hoch stand Ethereum gegenüber Bitcoin seit 2018 nicht mehr, wenn man die kurze Zeit im Dezember 2021 ausnimmt:  Aber die Übertreibung bei Ethereum auf unter 1k USD war schon heftig, sodass der Vergleich etwas weniger deutlich ist, als er zunächst scheint. Jetzt bereue ich es noch mehr (ja da war ich zu gierig) das ich meine Gold Tokens bei 1k $ nicht in ETH getauscht habe sondern noch auf die 800 $ gewartet habe, aber da sitze ich jetzt aus, sollte der Fork kommen werde ich wie bei den BTC Forks die neuen Coins nehmen und verkaufen. Danach gehe ich von einem Fall des Forkes und auch einen leichten Rückgang von ETH aus, da könnte wieder einiges Kapital zurück in ETH fließen.
Nun, es hätte auch anders kommen können, wenn der Merge wieder verschoben wird oder andere, unerwartete Probleme auftauchen. Was ich mir durchaus vorstellen könnte: Bis zum Merge ist es noch über 1 Monat und der Hype ist aktuell sehr groß. Was Merge als auch Fork betrifft. Wenn die Euphorie etwas abreißt, wäre eine kurze Zwischenkorrektur plausibel. Das ist natürlich nur geraten, würde mit aber nicht wundern, wenn es zwischendrin noch einmal korrigiert. Kann natürlich auch weiter steigen, aktuell steigt Ethereum ja täglich deutlich gegenüber BTC... |

I'm a little late to the party, but I finally get it now. He's talking like he's knowing everything about virology, medical research and so on but what's his profession exactly, virologist? He actually doesn't. I've never seen him talking about the vaccine's efficiency, which is what a virologist should be doing. What he does do is analyze certain distortions that were proved they played a key role in the world of health, the legal consequences of mandatory vaccination, and generally the whole systemic propaganda that was launched and that had a terrorist character. And that’s DerGigi's big problem. DerGigi's statements are done without any background knowledge of the actual issue, he’s commenting on. The Anti-Vaxxers have one thing in common: they are talking a lot and very loud, but they are usually from a different profession or coming from different branches of medicine, like Bodo Schiffman from Germany, he’s specialist for dizziness attacks. DerGigi isn’t even involved in health issues... So, how can he say that Covid19 is just an overhyped flu when he hasn’t done any studied research or isn’t capable of reviewing studies? His statements are based on the wrong ground, therefore he’s advocating that restrictions are "dictatorship" when he’s saying, Corona would be just a normal flu. Heck, obviously he doesn’t even look at the excess mortality we had in Europe, when Covid hit us in March / April 2020. He’s saying that vaccines don’t work and therefore everything saying otherwise is "systemic propaganda" for him. But he can’t review even the basic medical studies because he’s a Bitcoiner. DerGigi is caught in his conspiracy bubble. = He can’t judge the outcome properly (measures to prevent Corona / vaccinations), when his basic assumptions are wrong already because he’s not capable to do the appropriate research. And that’s why DerGigi's conclusion ("the whole systemic propaganda that was launched and that had a terrorist character" as you said) is completely wrong. Of course, if the government doesn’t act against Corona, the conspiracy nuts will come up and say "the government is going to kill us all, Bill Gates has advocated for the reduction of the world population in the past, it‘s his Agenda and Klaus Schwaab agrees".
In Covid-19, just like in climate change now, it was demonstrated that in order to encounter the pandemic, draconian moderation must be justified, which is a common phenomenon in totalitarian regimes. Not only that, but the governments (which appear to be ruled like puppets from another group of modern-aristocrats) misrepresented reality; threat became incentive, punishment became paternalistic protection, deathly risk became solidarity duty. There are statistics and there’s no doubt that climate change is happening. And it’s getting worse. But it’s real and not some random "invention by Klaus Schwab" same as Corona is not "just a flu" like DerGigi claims it is. It might be a bit different with Omikron right now as it was expected by experts, that the disease will become endemic and less harmful over time. It could still take some more years, which is especially risky for elderly people. And no, I’m not a grandpa, I’m in my 20s and I’m not part of the risk group. But the numbers are there, we can’t deny it and just because some people on Twitter or BitChute with no special knowledge say "it’s just a flu" or "vaccines are „death jabs“", that doesn’t change the fact that Corona shouldn’t be underestimated and we should take appropriate measures against it. Similar to climate change. In Germany, the green party suggested a speed limit recently. The conspiracy nuts are saying, that will endanger our freedom. Honestly, a speed limit will not endanger our freedom and wearing a mask doesn’t endanger our freedom as well. Wearing a seatbelt is also not a danger to our freedom. But the other thing: is a speed limit really effective to against climate change? In my opinion, that’s not achieving much. But it’s also not harmful for our freedom. But of course, conspiracy nuts will come up with a special story again and say otherwise. For our current drought they are also coming up with interesting stories. |
