2761  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What is the current situation of crypto currency on: February 11, 2023, 02:04:03 PM
I want to know more about the crypto market how it can be in couple of years just as u said will the bitcoin be the best coins to invest in the couple of years

The OP's question is quite clearly directed in the direction of the price, and he is not interested in any regulation or the relationship of individual countries towards Bitcoin or any other cryptocurrency. Simply put, he is asking if it is worth investing in Bitcoin today or if another coin should be considered - and that is a question I would not personally interfere in - because I do not want anyone to accuse me of convincing others to invest in Bitcoin, and I also don't want anyone to miss the chance of a lifetime because we said that all altcoins are garbage.
2762  Other / Meta / Re: It is possible to ignore signatur code & Avatar? on: February 11, 2023, 11:39:40 AM
According to the post history, this individual is in bitcointalk primarily for the purpose of participating in bounty campaigns. Even checking his own personal settings is beyond this person's time constraints.

Out of 591 posts, even 587 are in Bounties (Altcoins) and I wondered how he managed to get even 8 merits at all, and that brings us to this post for which he got even 5 merits - and more than obviously a classic merit abuse.

Given that @Groomerboll is tagged as an account/merits seller, the OP undoubtedly bought those 5 merits. I think that the OP opened this thread to try to get some merits, because this post talks about the fact that he needs 2 more merits for the next rank.
2763  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: February 11, 2023, 11:22:06 AM
you could have googled it yourself but here you go:

You could also post a link that mentions LB, not the one to the article from Europol.

I did not make that connection and I did not know that they reported on things like this.

For someone who should be a Legendary member soon, you seem pretty lost in every thread on this forum, but if that's any consolation, you're not the only one.
2764  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: February 10, 2023, 04:32:40 PM
But it seems they also infringed on the Russia sanctions by being one of the biggest Bitcoin sender to Russia connected exchange Bitzlato whose management was arrested.
https://www.europol.europa.eu/media-press/newsroom/news/bitzlato-senior-management-arrested

I read the article, but there is no mention of LB anywhere (unless I missed it). Maybe it's just two events that are not directly related? About 3 weeks ago, we had a thread published in the Legal board on the subject of that exchange.

interesting how reliable is that source?

You've never heard of Europol? Well, it's not exactly a third-rate news portal that publishes clickbait headlines to get as many clicks as possible.

Headquartered in The Hague, the Netherlands, Europol’s mission is to support its Member States in preventing and combating all forms of serious international and organised crime, cybercrime and terrorism. Europol also works with many non-EU partner states and international organisations.
2765  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: What after localbitcoins.com shutting down on: February 10, 2023, 03:58:24 PM
You can trade on Binance before without KYC, but Binance had no option than to make KYC mandatory. Yet, Binance remain as the exchange with the highest trading volume. Although, some people that are concerned about KYC left the exchange at the time. Jeremias Kangas founded Localbitcoins in mid 2012. 2022 crypto winter wasn't the first, that makes your post valid, but regardless of what happened, it is still about the survival of the fittest, but not necessarily about KYC as well if other things has been in place. Although, I am not disputing the fact that KYC could have been the reason for the start of Localbitcoins collapse.

It is not very logical to compare LB, which was a Bitcoin exchange, with that CEX, which achieves its trading volume thanks to countless shitcoins, its own token and the fact that CZ, like all Chinese, has learned very well how to fake trading volume. If some kind of internal audit entered their system, I wouldn't be surprised if their actual numbers are at least 30% less than what we see in public - but when you buy CMC as one of the most popular crypto sites, then you can very easily build an image that you are best.

If he's an early adopter probably he has 100x more than what would be left over a year stashed in BTC already.

After 10 years, I wouldn't be surprised if the man decided that he had enough money to end the whole thing and maybe devote himself to some new challenges. Some are surprised by this, as if a person has committed to providing a service for life, and how many people have been active on this forum for 10 or more years - or how many will be there in 10 years?
2766  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [Warning]: Enigma Info stealer on: February 10, 2023, 02:52:23 PM
Thanks for warning us. Meaning even just by opening the file from the email it could start downloading already  and chance to steal your crypto from an app or software wallets?

If you open the exe file and install that malicious program, then without any doubt you have infected your device and enabled the attacker to do the final stage, which consists of collecting all the important information you store on the computer and sending it to the hacker. Just opening any e-mail will not do any harm, although some e-mail providers/clients will not even allow sending exe files precisely to prevent the possibility of malicious attacks.

@virasog, Scammers count on people's naivety and greed, but this is something that must change in people's minds so that each of us who are aware of it will warn others, whether it is about this forum or the people who surround us every day. It will never happen that everyone will be aware that you should not look for money online with help from complete strangers, but if only one out of 100 people fell into the trap, maybe the scammers would become discouraged and start giving up their dirty work.
2768  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ark Investment lanches report Big Ideas 2023: bitcoin price above 1mi in 2030 on: February 10, 2023, 11:52:12 AM
But that is not a blindly prediction, they made a report show where this money comes from. You can even see in the image I posted in the OP. Money will flow from 5 to 25% from remittances, 0,3% to 10% from emerging markets, etc

They're just speculating where the investment could come from, but that's an old story that's been around for as long as Bitcoin has existed. Even today, the comparison of gold and Bitcoin is very popular, especially when talking about the possibility that some investors decide to sell gold and buy BTC. If only 10% of the value of gold (market cap $12.36 trillion) was transferred to Bitcoin, what would happen to the price of the same?

The fact is that there is constant speculation about how various companies, funds or individuals will allocate part of their funds to Bitcoin, but wouldn't it be logical if they had already done so or are still doing it today? Some will say that maybe they are waiting for some kind of more favorable legal framework, but in most of the developed world, even today, there are no obstacles for someone to buy Bitcoin.

If I know the potential of Bitcoin and I have the means to invest today, why wait for the price to be x5 or x10 higher? Saylor must have regretted many times that ten years ago he believed that Bitcoin would fail, as well as many others who will realize the same in the next ten years.

You guys remember Covid?

Well Vitamin D was the solution all along. Oh well, at least Pfizer made billions I guess. Such a lovely company as are our criminal politicians... so lovely jovely. Non of them had any vested interest in locking us down and forcing unnecessary "vaccines" on the working age population.....  Roll Eyes

No worries, they say they are working on mutating the virus, at least if one employee is to be believed who literally bragged about it in public while being filmed, he is truly a genius Roll Eyes

i did provide this docs  (which was difficult because its in arabic and i hade to travel to DC to translate it from verified translator)  :

Given that you say you are in Syria (currently), and you mention DC, does that mean you were in the US at some point? I ask this because for me and most people from the West, that abbreviation generally represents the District of Columbia (US). Far from justifying these scammers you trusted, but changes in the IP address (if any) of the country from which you accessed your wallet can create additional problems.

The only advice that makes sense is the one already written to you by @ETFbitcoin, because if you don't put pressure on them publicly, they will just continue with their insane demands, hoping that you will give up.

Multiple posts in a row are against the forum rules, so use the quote option and try to answer multiple posts in one post.
2771  Economy / Invites & Accounts / Re: ANNUAL & MONTHLY DISNEY+ PLUS | THE CHEAPEST LEGAL SUBSCRIPTION ! on: February 09, 2023, 03:46:39 PM
Is there a special reason why you didn't update the prices in the OP considering that you privately ask other (higher) prices several weeks already?
2772  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Which countries do you think this year will adopt Bitcoin as a Legal tender? on: February 09, 2023, 03:26:30 PM
Which country are you talking about? Which one is a third-world country? Why do you believe only small countries with poor economies will adopt Bitcoin as a legal tender? Why not a Country like Russia? The world abandoned Russia due to the war they were involved in. Don't you think Bitcoin could be financial freedom for them? They get the benefit of Bitcoin during the war. Poor countries with poor economies won't dare to invest in Bitcoin because of its volatility.

Do you really think that under this kind of political leadership, Russia would ever decide to accept something like Bitcoin? I can't imagine that in any realistic scenario, and personally I don't want something like that to happen at a time when that country is carrying out open aggression and occupation of an internationally recognized country.

Bitcoin as a "legal tender in Russia" would mean that it would very likely be blacklisted and sanctioned by the West, and that is not exactly something that would suit the majority who just want to see the price of the same thing as high as possible. As far as I know, Russia does not have any benefits from Bitcoin, but Ukraine accepted donations in Bitcoin from the first day and the total amount of donations is 646,80424950 BTC

Maybe Ukraine could be a good candidate for the European El Salvador?
2773  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ark Investment lanches report Big Ideas 2023: bitcoin price above 1mi in 2030 on: February 09, 2023, 11:55:06 AM
I don't know why they choose the year 2030.

Because it is a nice round number that plays its role in such speculations - regardless of the halving in 2028 and the possibility that 2029 will be the year of some new big bull run. Furthermore, any speculation that sets a range as wide as $250k to as much as $1.5 million is nothing more than mere speculation, regardless of whether it comes from someone who people think knows what will happen in the future.

I basically agree with you, and I think many others share that opinion, although in 7 years most people think that the price of 1 BTC will be in the six-figure zone, so we will not be disappointed if Cathie is right Smiley
2774  Economy / Economics / Re: Untouchable Savings: Do you have it? on: February 09, 2023, 11:28:22 AM
Saving is important for anyone who can afford it, because everyone knows that there may come a time when they need much more money than what they receive as their weekly or monthly salary. But I know personally of people who save to the extent that sometimes it seems that they need financial help, and at the same time they refrain from spending at least as much as they need for a life worthy of a human being.

Come meal time, I would also request that the serving be made in half. That's to save money. But I had the money. I always made sure I have some. Emergencies and unforeseen expenses may arise anytime. So I need to have money all the time, but I won't touch it. Ironically, it also gave me hunger, inconvenience, discomfort at times.

Such saving through personal renunciation of something that you need to function normally is wrong for me personally, and I believe that you understood that after you experienced it on your own skin. A man cannot function normally if he is hungry or if he is cold, and at the same time he has means that can solve all of this, but he refuses to use them. Saving money by giving up cigarettes, coffee, bad food, alcohol and the like is logical, but being hungry and at the same time having a full wallet is simply wrong.

My story is rather uninteresting, but let me know yours. Does this idea also apply to you? You could have the money to buy a new car to replace your old and broken one but you prefer not to touch it. Do you hold yourself from spending what you have to the point of depriving yourself of what you deserve? Do you keep significant savings for occasions that might only happen in your imagination? Or at what point would you allow yourself to be drained of your last penny?

If the car is very old, breaks down often and repairs are expensive, then you are literally wasting money trying to keep it in driving condition. In addition, the safety of you and those who are in that car can be endangered, so a new car is not a luxury, but a necessity that has a purpose. In addition, you can save significantly if you buy a used car that is in good condition.
2775  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What are the two most effective pieces of advice you could give crypto investors on: February 09, 2023, 10:46:37 AM
Do not fall in love with your coins

I have to admit that this is very strange, considering that it is about cryptocurrencies, which for most are just an investment instrument, so what does love have to do with that? Do you feel the same about the money in your wallet or bank account? Love, greed, envy and ignorance are only obstacles when it comes to any risky investment.

My one and only advice is: don't invest in something you don't understand, because the chances of you experiencing a financial fiasco are much higher than success.
2776  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: When to sell bitcoin before the next bear market starts? on: February 09, 2023, 10:22:29 AM
~snip~

Instead of trying to do something in which you will obviously fail, I would suggest that you set an exit price for yourself and that at the moment of reaching that price, you simply sell what you want to sell. No one will be able to predict with certainty what the maximum price of the next bull run will be, and everything will again come down to speculation and various plans and charts, which in most cases will not be accurate. If you wait, you will miss the train again and you will wait at least 4 years for a new opportunity.

Never! Because bitcoin is money and you don't sell money, you use it. That's what you should do with bitcoin too. When price goes up, instead of trying to "dump" it to get your fiat and and then use the fiat you can instead use bitcoin to pay for stuff you need. The adoption has been growing and will continue grow so you will have a lot of options for when you want to spend your bitcoins.

The problem is that most people don't see Bitcoin as a currency, and we can't blame them too much for that, considering that public opinion has been shaped to the point that people have simply taken it for granted. Let's just remember Mr. Mars and his statements about how BTC transactions have a harmful effect on the environment, or how Saylor accumulates BTC without showing that he is using it in a way that would be right.

I agree that there will be more and more ways to use Bitcoin as a currency, although for those who currently have nowhere to spend it, all that remains is to convert it to fiat.
2777  Economy / Speculation / Re: Can we experience $80k this year? on: February 08, 2023, 04:50:42 PM
Regardless of the fact that the OP is not quite accurate with some facts, and that he mentions some kind of investment in stablecoins, he is obviously under the influence of some "crypto expert" who is playing with numbers just to attract as many followers as possible on a social network or YT channel. However, anything is possible when it comes to Bitcoin, but I am much more moderate with the numbers when it comes to the highest possible price this year.

In one of the polls I think I voted for a max price of $40k by the end of this year. Maybe I'm wrong, but the new ATH before the halving doesn't seem like a viable option.
2778  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Can this forum be targetted? on: February 08, 2023, 04:32:41 PM
With a strategy to stop the growth of bitcoins by reducing the community behind it, Is it possible that the government (say a collective effort by them all) target bitcointalk since it is the largest community bitcoin has(I think), to stop the activities of forum members from staying together to ensure that this community is disbanded?

A few hundred or maybe a thousand to two unique users actively participating in the forum in terms of somewhat high-quality discussions is not something that Bitcoin depends on - and even if that happens, I believe that the community would reorganize and continue on a new forum. I am also of the opinion that the governments of the world have much bigger problems than dealing with forums, so don't worry too much about such things.

Some local communities (Russian board for example) have already been banned from accessing this forum. For them, it is now impossible to participate in discussions except through sophisticated means that allow them to bypass those prohibitions. However, these tools are getting actively banned too, so, with every passing day, it is becoming harder and harder to access the website.

I did not notice that members from Russia (at least those who are active outside the RU board) disappeared from the forum because of that ban - and I would not agree that VPN or TOR are something sophisticated that every average user could not use. The latest report on the activities of the local boards does not really support your thinking.

2779  Economy / Reputation / Re: First Bitcoin earning (Signature) on: February 08, 2023, 03:53:17 PM
Congratulations on your first payment when it comes to signature campaigns because it is certainly nice to combine participation in the forum through the acquisition of new knowledge with the possibility of earning something along the way.

Lesson well learned, and such a mistake won't happen next time.

When it comes to mistakes, I would like to draw your attention to one very serious thing that I noticed in Meta - and it is that you are accused of word spinning (plagiarism). As far as I can see, your post has been deleted, but you have not received any punishment (so far), and it seems that the moderators had mercy. I hope you will take advantage of this opportunity, because not everyone gets it.

Now Craig has filed case against 12 developers. What is next ?

Maybe you're next on his "what I need to do" list, because you claim to be Satoshi Nakamoto the same way Faketoshi does, without any evidence.

~snip~
Gavin needs to come out with a better public statement denouncing CSW because even if some members here do not like him any more he still has a influence on members in the community and he can use that to do some good by coming out with a stronger statement against CSW

Which members does he influence in any way? To those who have no idea who he is at all, or to those who know very well what he has done, and by that I mean all those bad things from the time when he allegedly cared about Bitcoin? That man has 0% real influence, and he'd be better off crawling under a rock and staying there. He is fake to the same extent as the faker he supported.
