2761  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Introducing the Bitcoin on: February 03, 2021, 07:07:31 AM
You can introduce people to bitcoin, but you can't force them to trade crypto.
Trading is not for everyone to be honest, not everyone has the time to watch the prices, someone has to do other things right? I don't necessarily agree with OP because I believe in the diversity and uniqueness of personality of each individual, it is difficult to categorize them on a set in stone category, you need data gathering and data compilation to create a systematic category that has data backing up your category. You do not need to force them into believing into something, introduce them and let them decide, this is a free world of some sort right and everyone can and should make their own decisions.
2762  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who is the people or group of people will buy the btc top ? on: February 03, 2021, 06:01:37 AM
Who would have imagined a year ago that the btc would have the value of 33k $? And if you look in the news you will read that MicroStrategy bought a few million dollars in btc at 33k $ on average, the whales have sold to these types of institutions and they buy them because they know that it will continue to increase, if the btc reaches the figure of 100k It will still be sold because it will continue to increase and can reach up to a million dollars in about 10 years. Grin
Supposing that will be the case, will we ever reach a stability in prices because as far as bitcoin is concerned, its market is still volatile as ever. I finally understood what OP is saying by reading most of the replies and the quote above, the answer will be the same, people will still buy bitcoin no matter where the prices lands, it is their fault that they are late in the game except of course to those who doesn't really know it.
2763  Economy / Economics / Re: Elon Musk goes against Vlad of Robinhood full discussion on GME/AMC stonks on: February 03, 2021, 05:23:56 AM
I was simply amazed about how easy was for Elon Musk to never allow any of the fake talk of the Robinhood CEO to go unnoticed. At the start of the conversation he began explaining and pitching Robinhood App! Nobody asked!  Smiley
The poor guy reminded me Mark Zuckerberg early versions were he was not even able to relate with his interviewers. Elon, on the other hand, is totally from another planet.
Elon knows how to sway the hearts of the masses, especially on Twitter, with him having a cult following of nerds that accepts as the word of God every thing that he says, it is fairly easy to do that, now imagine if you are a nobody that talks back against a big personality like the guy from Robinhood, you wouldn't be heard or worse, you would be shunned. This is just the basics of public relations and Musk is winning the hearts because he lowers himself for the people to reach him, there isn't a lot of billionaires that accepts guesting in podcasts, be on a cameo on a cartoon show and be a meme lord on Twitter.
2764  Economy / Economics / Re: Global Wealth Disparity is going to cause a lot of issues soon on: February 03, 2021, 04:39:06 AM
The global wealth disparity will be a thing no matter how much we change things. There'll always be someone who earns more (or steals from others). We can't really change that unless we apply communist rules.
We can change the global wealth disparity not by communism, remember that it didn't work so it is not worth doing a do over. What we can do is make more people in the population less ignorant, make them see the wrong things that have been plaguing the society and then they will elect the smartest person in the bunch that doesn't get scared or get bribed.
Second, I'm afraid there'll be no fix global currency because there is no global government. Currencies are government-issued. The global currencies that we have today are those of the most powerful nations. It's just logical. But there will be changes as time moves on as there are inevitable shifts of power among nations in the global stage.
I think that USD serves as a faux global currency with a lot of countries holding USD as a reserve currency aside from gold, I think not all currency from powerful countries are a good global currency, look at Russia's ruble, China's yuan, France is using Euro and UK is not that good with foreign policy. I don't want a global government, that thing wouldn't be easy to pull off, the only time that it will work is if terror reigned around the globe and no one can stop the rise of strong government.
Third, the great wealth divide will always stay. Bitcoin is not here to plain the field. It is not Bitcoin's objective to address the unequitable wealth distribution in the human race.
The divide will stay if the people are happy with just being given a crumb of bread every time they bow down and accept situation when they could get the whole bread, r/wallstreetbets did the impossible, which means that if people were to bond towards a common goal, I think that they will achieve something, those rich people are not untouchables, they just have bodyguards and when that is gone, the masses can easily tear this people apart.
Finally, even a great financial reset, provided it is not just a utopian imagination, won't do much. In the first place, who will do it? The current elites and powerful? Do you think they would envision a world where they will end up in the same situation with that of their maids, nannies, gardeners, and so on?
There is no utopia, the root word of utopia sort of means "non-existing place". The only way that we will topple the hidden pyramid of classes that divide the people is for the masses to have an individual mind and a high level of critical thinking.
2765  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why was Musk so late to the party? / or Publically support BTC on: February 02, 2021, 07:47:13 AM
Well he probably was busy playing with rockets and cars, but i guess he finally got it. Next step in proving support, is accepting bitcoin and paying wages in bitcoin. Time will tell how genuine he is.
That is one way to put it, and not to mention that he is also busy with Neuralink, Starlink, The Boring Company, Hyperloop and OpenAI, so my guess is that he doesn't have that much free time to consider the wonders of bitcoin at that time. It doesn't really matter though, everyone will eventually support this bitcoin, the ones that are afraid are the people that are going to be hit by the hypetrain that is bitcoin.

2767  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin of America Expands to 600+ ATMs on: February 02, 2021, 05:05:53 AM
It's really a great news without government involvement these stuffs cannot happen, I think biden's government is favouring their people in their own risk and this is what other people are expecting in their country as well.

All these things happening only because of demand which makes BTC and other crypto currencies more stronger than ever a clear picture for long-term investment and future.
Indeed a great news, and to make this even greater, I want to say one of the advantages of bitcoin ATM, one of them is that the chances of the money being stolen in the ATM is zero because AFAIK most bitcoin ATM only has the terminal. I don't think that having an expansion in the terminals for bitcoin ATM's is not the government favoring the people, remember that a massive KYC regulation on US exchanges are being developed by the Congress. It's not just the demand that makes bitcoin grows stronger, it is also the potential for a massive growth that many people saw as an opportunity to profit.
2768  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: India makes ownership of Bitcoin criminal offense - How to respond? on: February 02, 2021, 03:49:09 AM
Why India bans private cryptocurrencies to support government solutions. The official currency will give the country more control to limit foreign influence, but it will also provide the kind of stability associated with conventional currencies. The prices of Bitcoin and similar currencies still tend to fluctuate wildly and are more susceptible to manipulation. In theory, India can accept pure digital currencies without digital traps.
Well, India is run by the government that is why they ban cryptocurrency, they see cryptocurrency as a threat so they have to neutralize it before it gets bigger. Your theory of India accepting pure digital currencies contradicts with your other statements which is the wild fluctuation on the prices of bitcoin and other currencies and that the official fiat currency will limit foreign influence and create a stability.
2769  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Broner vs Santiago Feb 20 on: February 02, 2021, 02:56:50 AM
He is giving Broner a chance to win, it is really a nice pick for their promoter and Broner. With a 14-0-1 fight record for Santiago, it is very obvious to think about what will be the possible ends. This is likely just an exhibition fight and an easy win for Broner.

But I don't think it buys more interest to the public and I'd never think about a close fight scene. Thus, I expect a higher odds for Broner, of course, it is the best choice to be made when putting a bet on them.
The public will still bite it and most of the people who will not be enjoying this fight is the boxing fans that wanted to see the Campa v. Broner fight but here we are, Santiago v. Broner. Broner could handle this one in my opinion, Santiago is not that big in the scene as Campa is back in his homecountry Mexico, the record is the only one that backs Santiago and I think that with Broner, he will be tasting defeat.
2770  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: People die from heart attack when they hit the jackpot. on: February 02, 2021, 02:18:28 AM
Most of the revenue from the sale of the lottery tickets goes to the government and only a small fraction ends up in the hand of the winner. And even from that amount, you can expect a tax cut of 60% or more. But the proportion will depend on the game and tax rules. For example, in the US in most cases less than 10% of the revenue is given as prize money, after the government cut and taxes. On the other hand, in the UAE, this is close to 100%.
That is if you get the lump sum in one go although that is the better option too. Most revenue from state sponsored lottery are used for creating projects although that part is debatable as most government are corrupt enough to misuse the lottery revenue to useless projects. In the case of US, they have a lot of lotteries going around the country which explains why they get a lot of money from these winners, not to mention that the taxes in US is a lot higher than most countries.
2771  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The gambler who manages to beat the casino through cheating on: February 02, 2021, 01:32:48 AM
~
If you are openly declaring the rules of the game(terms and conditions) beforehand, this is not cheating. Players can examine them, and decide whether they want to play on the site. No pitfalls will be left for someone who read the ToS carefully(talking about honest gambling sites here, of course). Cheaters do not disclose their methods beforehand, and that's the difference. There's nothing to admire in their actions. Cheating is bad.
That's just cheating with extra steps, the problem with our notion of cheating is that it has to be illegal, if you know how the system works or you created the system, you can find or create some loopholes that will not be a problem for you if it ever comes to that. ToS is a pitfall, if you do not accept it then you can't play at their website. I know that cheating is bad but give credit where credit is due.
2772  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: May-Pac 2, will it finally happen? on: February 02, 2021, 12:51:59 AM
I think this is better than Garcia. We all want to see May-Pac 2 and both of the camps knew it as well that the fans wanted to see another fight from these great boxers.
Pacquiao is a Champion in Recess which means that there was no other fights ever since Keith Thurman, which could be a possibility that Pacquiao will not accept the fight, I do agree that the it is better than Garcia fight because I feel like Garcia should get on a bout with Gervonta Davis because as far as I know, Davis was the first fighter that he wants to fight after his match with Campbell, but there are looming rumors that a Garcia-Pacquiao will be a thing. I don't think that there will be another May-Pac fight in awhile, Pacquiao is busy as heck in his country as a Senator.
2773  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Jake Paul vs Ben Askren on April 17 on: February 02, 2021, 12:15:56 AM
Wait what?! The Ben Askren that was on the receiving end of the fastest KO in the UFC history? An MMA fighter who specializes in wrestling is competing in a fist fight Grin Is this fight for charity? If yes, I'll support it. If not, I hope nobody buys tickets/PPVs.
That's the Ben Askren, if my knowledge serves, it is against Masvidal. I don't know about Askren specializing in wrestling being a problem, in my opinion it is not a problem, Askren got a 19-2 record to back up his reputation although the Masvidal's knee kick really did him good. No matter what we are hoping for, people that support Jake Paul will buy those tickets and other people who wants to watch it will always buy one, one thing that I hope is that it is for charity.
2774  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The biggest 10 countries that gamble the most. on: February 01, 2021, 08:27:21 AM
Interesting one on China. I thought gambling is banned in the country, or may be the stats is focusing on those who bet on things like lottery(which I guess the country allows)?
So, I wonder what exactly the post is focusing on: Is it focusing on people who take big betting risk (or simply gambling), People who Bet generally (whether the risk is low or high), or people who spend alot of money on bets?  The right answer to this question will help make the stats clearer, and would be important for the use of proper term and stats that qualifies it. I always assumed that certain countries have strict safety guidelines for betting and only encourage responsible betting.
I did check, it is a pretty interesting take on gambling, banning everything that a private owner can own but not the state run lotteries which is a good move for China because they are monopolizing the profits pouring into gambling industries, I found out too that gambling debt will not be a problem in Chinese soil which means that if someone has some sort of debt that involves gambling, they can just go to China to prevent possible litigation. I think the data focuses more on the individuals who gamble. Guidelines are not followed, businesses will not stop an addict from losing because that is how they get profit, they will stop someone occasionally to make it look like they are watching out for the welfare of their clients.
2775  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Esports Prediction & Discussion Thread on: February 01, 2021, 07:41:42 AM
Well, their captain is Skem which is a former pos 5 while their offlane was the former pos 4. I say that all of them are versatile and very flexible with their chosen roles or there's a sudden agreement from any of them to play the other position if they want to or if it's needed.
Their drafts are totally crazy and gets into the meta even though by just looking at it they're seems to be funny yet but the execution and performance is always flawless.
Good to see that no one is talking about OG as the only darling of the crowd, it seems to me that I have a lot of catching up to do with all this new teams. After this DPC season, The International is going to be field with new young teams that are pretty promising considering that a lot of the old roster from TI9 has significantly change, hopefully this meta will be a gamechanger for the International and to be able to see another team that is going to hold the Aegis of Champions.
2776  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Tyson Fury vs. Anthony Joshua on: February 01, 2021, 07:02:10 AM
The motivation of Tyson Fury is incredible, all of his big fights where he was written off by the experts and going to the opponents home ground to face them and then dominating them is a skill in itself. When he faced Wladimir Klitschko no one gave him a chance to beat Wladimir Klitschko but he defied the odds and won and that was the case in the Deontay Wilder fight.
This means that the odds are high on Fury, which means that a defeat from Joshua will be a big money for those who bet on him. I am on Fury's side though, I posted awhile back my analysis on their stats and Fury has the most advantages in this fight in this thread. We won't know until it happens, I just want to see an entertaining fight and I hope that this two can give it.
2777  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Thailand government seeks measures to tackle the problems of illegal gambling. on: February 01, 2021, 06:16:30 AM
~
Talking about corruption, I don't know if there is someone, a country had left not doing this. They have the reason why they push themselves on the position and that to take advantage of their citizen. And to say about the stoppage of illegal gambling, that could be a hard thing to do, IMO.
I don't think that this raids on illegal gambling will last because this illegal gambling houses are a source of funds for this corrupt officials, this is just a show to distract the people from the real problems. People do have a choice on who governs them, it's just that they do not realize the power they have, remember French and Bolshevik revolutions, corruption of the monarchs were destroyed by the people. I do not think that it is acceptable to have a reason for exploiting your citizens, no matter how you explain it, corruption is corruption, there is no in betweens.
2778  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Thailand government seeks measures to tackle the problems of illegal gambling. on: February 01, 2021, 05:33:40 AM
~
Government regulations would push every individuals to abide their rules on taxation, by virtue of no choice. This became mandatory on every business establishments, because if they don't follow certain implementation they're considered as illegal gambling operation. If there's a need for petition when there's really a hardships encountered, then it's always open to raise for congress or some officials who can help in a specific country.
People still has the choice not to abide the rules in taxation if they want to, remember that revolts can happen and the government continuously oppressing their citizens will only result in a dumpster fire of chaos and unrest, you can't trust the Congress or the officials if your country is ruled by corrupt people.
2779  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: February 01, 2021, 04:50:41 AM
Salaries should not be part of the discussion here. It's not a problem if CJ got a special offer from SMB. It's personal stuff. There is no problem if teams want to get stronger but the recent CJ Perez trade isn't fair no matter how you looked at it.

The subject of the majority's concern is those players involved in the trade. CJ can be traded but DYIP should get good role players in return. If they want to rebuild, they can demand role players as CJ is a big fish. But they end up accepting those bench players and that was the issue insisting it's a fair trade.
Even if salary is not part of the discussion, we can't rule out that fact that the player might have seen a good offer than what they already have. I do agree it is an unfair trade but what can we do, SMB has been creating a super team ever since and they have the money at their disposal to do it.

I don't know how that inspired you since they are cheating. I don't know if you want to cheat to beat the casino or you just want to beat the casino. With the system that we have now, that is not a skill, that is cheating. Obviously, the casino banned these because it is cheating, I don't think they would be allowing that for so long unless someone knows something and kept it for himself.
I think the reason that he/she was inspired is because of the courage to pull off such an act, I do admire courage no matter how legal it is, I give them the slack. Obviously they are cheating and it is an unfair practice against other player, but don't you think that casinos should get a taste of their own medicine from time to time? They do some form of cheating too, they just call it a house edge and gambling.
