2781  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Can IDENA price touch $1 ? on: September 29, 2020, 09:26:10 AM
i will not risk my money in this one for now mate, why choose top 100 currency than this one who seems to be no future at all.

touching $0.3 is an achievement for this Shitcoin so don't expect to much increase, ranking number 722 in CoinmarketCap ?be happy in the highest price because now it is falling down badly.

Do you know that this raking is based on coins (price x supply)? Ranking will go up with price. Based on what you post in here i doubt you have any clue bout investing, CMC rankings, supply, demand, price, value. Go and buy another DEFI scam.

So basically you like investing in something when it is expensive enough. If its expensive than it must be good - Damn you are so clever investor.

Meanwhile, after validation IDENA has 4500 NODES. According to this research IDENA just surpass DASH and will surpass ETH in next 2 months if it will continue to grow that fast. And these are unique and equal nodes. But go and call it shitcoin only because market is excited too much about defi scams and pump shit instead of looking for another gold deal.

This coin in terms of fundamentials is in top 50 and top 10 in terms of innovation. Price will fallow sooner or later.
2782  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: DeFi: yield farming with Obyte. on: September 27, 2020, 05:18:27 PM
I am one from team.

Tell me then why so strange marketing? Why Obyte did like 10 airdrops and didn't spend even a fraction of this money for good listing. There is literally no place to buy Obyte. Bittrex force KYC, BitZ and Folgory has 3$ and 11$ volume, Finexbox has 1000$ volume but all 3 are no name exchanges out of nowhere. Swaps that has Obyte (simpleswap f.e) has 15% spread and looks scammy to me (no matter if you buy for 10$ or 500 BTC you have same spread. I wonder how they will deliver me 500 BTC worth Obyte if there is 0 liquidity on all exchanges). Give me safe place to buy with fair spreads and i'll buy.

I'm not talking about binance or other leaders. Even kucoin is good enough. Or qtrade (very small but has unique-zerohype coins and is fair for customers).
2783  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: DeFi: yield farming with Obyte. on: September 27, 2020, 12:34:07 PM
Interesting project, it seems to be a seperate project from origin protocol's OUSD because initially i thought they were same. I have not checked out obyte so who are the people behind? How is the previous performance? What is their reputation in the market and how safe is to make deposit on their platform. I think these questions need answers before risking our money.

OBYTE (byteball before) started as airdrop to BTC hodlers (fair and wide distribution). It is well known and established coin listed on CMC in 2016. I heard about it a lot of good stuff from technical guys (people with education related to cryptography).

It is a DAG - you can read more here - https://academy.binance.com/blockchain/what-is-a-directed-acyclic-graph-dag-in-cryptocurrency

More about Obyte - https://wiki.obyte.org/Main_Page

I have no idea why, despite being so technically strong, it is listed on such a small number of exchanges, and the price just cant stop dropping (-98% from ATH)
2784  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Idena is the first Proof-of-Person Blockchain on: September 27, 2020, 08:23:33 AM
So, we've new version of the Idena app as there was a bug that should have been solved. New version of the Idena node Introducing us increased flip rewards that is positive, Idena team technically do the right things. I just curious to perform validations via Android, is there any update regarding this?

Community dev is making this app. It is already in BETA. You can download it from GitHub and use for next validation (but on your own risk).

https://github.com/redDwarf03/my-idena/releases

According to dev it worked during last validation:

[In reply to Rados]
It is not completely safe because it’s a beta version... but it worked last (difficult) session. The next validation session will be important to confort the tests

2785  Other / Archival / Re: [Tutorial] What is the Liquidity Pool? on: September 26, 2020, 11:20:52 AM
Thank you for explaining this and the op for putting a explanation about Liquidity pools. I swhat you explained called impermenant loss in LP's?
Is there any possibility that we lose value in USDT?

After short read it looks like impermanent loss is something that I've explained above without knowledge that it is it and has a separate name in the liquiditypools nomenclature:).

https://blog.bancor.network/beginners-guide-to-getting-rekt-by-impermanent-loss-7c9510cb2f22
Quote
"What Is Impermanent loss?
Simply put, impermanent loss is the difference between holding tokens in an AMM and holding them in your wallet.
It occurs when the price of tokens inside an AMM diverge in any direction. The more divergence, the greater the impermanent loss.
Why “impermanent”?
Because as long as the relative prices of tokens in the AMM return to their original state when you entered the AMM, the loss disappears and you earn 100% of the trading fees."

So risk from providing liquidity in case of high volatility. Price dump without recover.

2787  Other / Archival / Re: [Tutorial] What is the Liquidity Pool? on: September 26, 2020, 09:30:25 AM
So when proportions in the network are changing (f.e. due to price change on CEX and arbitrage traders or large orders directly on swaps) algo is changing price to compensate this. So if I get this correct fallowing scenario is possible on high volatile coins:

investment
1 ETH and 400 USDT (1 ETH is worth 400$ - total 800$)

ETH pumps x4 in short term ( lets say 4 weeks)

Balance:

0.25 ETH and 400 USDT (1 ETH is worth 1600$ - total 800$ + small profit from fees)

So if I evaluate my wallet in USD (i'm looking for USD gains) than i'm fine (but without LP i would have massive gains intead of few $ from fees) but if I'm a ETH hodler than i'm down 0.75 ETH that i wouldn't be if i just hodl my coins in wallet without engaging in liquidity pool.

Talking about dump instead of pump we get opposite situation.

This leads to the conclusion that liquidity provider is very exposed to price changes and is not as safe as it is presented to masses. Only low volatile pairs like USDT/DAI are safe, but you are exposed to USDT exit scam with whole your wallet (DAI will be dumped to USDT that will become worthless). So if any of 2 stable coins that you have will 0 whole your wallet will zero. That is extra risk that might not be worth taking for 10% annually that in most cases is the actual ROI.
2788  Economy / Speculation / Re: Globb0 BTC charts on: September 26, 2020, 08:37:38 AM
Same, I expected some follow through from bears when the daily lows were undercut 2 days ago. Instead, price just sat there and then sprang right back into the range. Makes me wonder if this is going to be a sideways time-based correction (like this past June-July) rather than a deep price-based correction.

I'm also very confused. BTC and SP500 are very correlated last times.I can't imagine SP500 crash without BTC dump. When i look at sp500 chart it seems to me that we are doomed to do something like this or even steeper.

While on BTC i'm a little less bearish. Going for something like this (weekly candles on both):

Do you think its time for BTC to finally show it strength against SP500?
2789  Economy / Speculation / Re: Globb0 BTC charts on: September 25, 2020, 12:18:25 PM
Interesting. Didn't Clinton have similar landslide numbers before being upset in 2016?

You are right. I forget the fact that Clinton was a favorite and yet she lost. Even rates were similar:

https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2016/upshot/presidential-polls-forecast.html

Back to BTC. Nice recover after breaking 10200. Didn't expect that.
2790  Economy / Speculation / Re: Globb0 BTC charts on: September 24, 2020, 10:45:12 AM
What's your take? Is the market pricing in a Trump loss and a subsequent repeal of his pro-business tax policies? I don't have the best read on election prospects right now.

If we are in a mid-term bear trend, do you view it as continuation of the post-2017 bear market? Or a temporary pullback in a new bull market?

According to forecast trump has little to 0 chace to win.

I think that market won't like it and we might see further dump till elections. Then we will have buy rumor sell facts stage - recover. Than printers will continue to do brrrrr and market will fully recover.

Venezuela

Your country may be on fire, but if you do brrr quickly enough stock markets will grow 10x in a year.

2791  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin 200 week Moving Average (MA) on: September 23, 2020, 08:11:57 AM
Its good to know that i'm not the only one who can zoom out BTC chart Smiley

The only thing that lowers my confidence is the unfavourable environment mainly COVID-19 second wave fear that might effect in similar dump like 03/2020. I don't think that panic sellers will push price that low once again (i think they get their lesson seeing how fast bitcoin recovered doing +200%) but 7000 is very possible.

And end of US bull run that started in 2008 might be a case to in long term.
2792  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Idena is the first Proof-of-Person Blockchain on: September 23, 2020, 06:01:12 AM
Everyone ready for today hardfork? It is planned from 12:30 to 13:30 UTC. All mining status will be deactivated. You will have to update node to start mining again (It's good to update ASAP to mine faster (with lower difficulty) before others update their nodes).

Quote
Dear Idena community,

We plan to release a new version of the Idena node tomorrow, on September 23, 2020, from 12:30 to 13:30 UTC.

It will be a hard fork. The miner status for all validated nodes will be deactivated in the new version. Please be ready for the update.

Planned changes:
- Introducing increased flip rewards
- Flip reporting system improvement
- Flip lottery improvement
- Last 10 epochs results to calculate the total score
- Invitations distribution improvement
- Restricting the stake withdrawal address
- Gas model for transaction fees
- Introducing predefined smart contracts
- Peering improvement

Please see the details here: https://medium.com/idena/idena-hard-fork-announcement-b8e36ee756bb
2793  Economy / Speculation / Re: Globb0 BTC charts on: September 21, 2020, 05:23:06 PM
Seems doubtful now. Today's daily candle (-5%) looks like a confirmation of a lower high.

Yes. I started doubt in my prediction after strong bounce from 11000$. Now its just impossible.

BTC and stocks both look quite ugly right now. At best, sideways. At worst, significant downside. That's my opinion.

So much blood everywhere. We have covid-19 second wave fear, US election fear. It will all make next 3 month very exciting/frightening.
2794  Other / Archival / Re: Bakkt - New ATH in bitcoin futures on: September 20, 2020, 08:07:50 PM
Key : influence and reputation.

Weak volume = no liquidity = easy pump/dump (price manipulation) = impact on high volume markets (crypto exchanges) = cashing big positions.

The script for manipulations is written by itself

Written in 2018:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5091123.msg48962463#msg48962463

Crypto is new technology. Our tokens are a dozen times better than stocks, contracts etc. Why we are struggling with implementing new technology into old technology hoping that old technology influencers will let us in just because they are old guys with money. Tokens are new technology.

I made this topic to start conversation about showing middle finger to old technology with old guys on board. We need them only for volume. We don't need to hear all the time "we will let your new technology to be trade on our old technology platform by old technology assets but not today ... maybe tomorrow... maybe next year"

Forget about them. Build use cases for new technology and they will come to us.
2795  Other / Archival / Re: Bakkt - New ATH in bitcoin futures on: September 20, 2020, 10:39:16 AM
Anyone got idea there why we still don't see a huge upward price actions on Bitcoin?
Like if we will compare before when we reached all-time-high around $19, 000, I think Bakkt is still not operating before when we reached all-time-high. But now, we already experienced another new all-time-high volume on bitcoin futures but we don't still have new all-time-high on Bitcoin price.

Futures and margin trading is much more popular now compared to 2017, when we seen bitcoin ATH. And both (futures and margin) provides easy way to play in both directions (long/short). Now we need much more volume to grow because we need to buy from all dumpers and from all shorters.
2796  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Idena is the first Proof-of-Person Blockchain on: September 20, 2020, 10:34:46 AM

Sorry was not much active here can some explain what was the main reason for them to do a hard fork of the network? and is everything is alright right now? When is the hard fork scheduled for?
Thanks

Everything is alright. Hardfork is scheduled for September 23, 2020 (in about 3 days).

https://medium.com/idena/idena-hard-fork-announcement-b8e36ee756bb

Main reason? I was already writing here about changes. I'll quote it once again.

Quote
1. Introducing increased flip rewards
2. Flip reporting system improvement
3. Flip lottery improvement
4. Last 10 epochs results to calculate the total score
5. Invitations distribution improvement
6. Restricting the stake withdrawal address
7. Gas model for transaction fees
8. Peering improvement
2797  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Idena is the first Proof-of-Person Blockchain on: September 19, 2020, 01:19:16 PM
Is that the upcoming hardfork, or is another one planned to implement this? Either way this is a pretty big deal. zso many people are blind to this project, hopefully updates like this will open their eyes soon.

Hard forks are quite often in here - experimental mainnet. I think we will have at least 2 more before end of 2021 - when smart contracts will be released.

closest hard fork changes that will affect network 23 sep 2020:

Quote
1. Introducing increased flip rewards
2. Flip reporting system improvement
3. Flip lottery improvement
4. Last 10 epochs results to calculate the total score
5. Invitations distribution improvement
6. Restricting the stake withdrawal address
7. Gas model for transaction fees
8. Peering improvement

hopefully updates like this will open their eyes soon.

Naaah. Money loves silence ... Smart money needs time accumulate. Then 100x pump and then hype and every influencer talking about idena so that dump money could jump on the top of the new tech bubble and loss money again. Thats why everyone is talking about DEFI now (not when projects like Link was in accumulation zone 2017-2020). Its the top of the DEFI bubble - you know that by looking at alt section seeing 70% topics being about DEFI.
2798  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Perfectly balanced as all things should be on: September 19, 2020, 10:00:52 AM
Professional investor knows that money management is the key to earn on market. You can invest in the craziest and riskiest ideas as long as you do it responsibly (using only small portion of your wallet).

Perfectly balanced crypto wallet in my opinion looks like that:

>50% bitcoin
<30% strong alts bought at the dip (never on pump). Market leaders in its category (for me it's BNB, leading exchange with undervalued coin, deflationary with massive passive income).
<10% innovative one of a kind altcoin/altcoins out of top 500 CMC for a lucky shot (It's IDENA for me - first proof of person coin with 4000 unique nodes with equal voting power - the most decentralized coin in whole crypto industry)
>10% USD or BTC (BUSD locked in savings for me) to always be able to jump in new investment without dumping others.
I also have <10% in bankroll investment in yolodice for passive income.

How does the perfectly balanced crypto wallet looks for you?

2799  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Inspirational gambling quotes. on: September 19, 2020, 09:21:42 AM
Pro poker players, but more so pro betting people, always have some shadiness around them for the general (ignorant) public. While stock exchange traders and investment bankers have a rather good image, are assumed to be very intelligent/successful businessmen and a lot of people look up to them, the "gamblers" are often considered lunatics, criminals and what else. But a pro poker player or professional punter does exactly the same what these "gods" do, i.e. investing money in EV+ things. Even insurances do the same: They calculate what is the possibility of you having an accident with your car and put up a - for them - valuable premium for that. They do that with millions of customers and each contract has a lot of value, thats why these companies are filthy rich Smiley

Very well explained.

Both poker player and investor/trader have the same crucial skill - ability to responsibly manage funds under pressure. The only difference is the first one is betting based on his hand and other one is betting based on market data that he knows (that is sometimes even less than 5 out of 52 (insiders etc.). I even made a topic that encourage traders to start playing poker to train skills necessary for trading faster than with regular trading. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5122226.msg50225995#msg50225995

That's why poker-like games (PvP, no house edge) should not be called gambling and those rules does not apply to gambling (roulette, dice etc)
2800  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Inspirational gambling quotes. on: September 19, 2020, 08:30:07 AM
Gambling is part of some people's daily lives, there are some people who considered this as their form of entertainment and source of income. Losing and winning are normal and part of your gambling story, don't lose hope whenever you fail for once, just make it as your motivation to do it again with a different approach. I just want to inspire you with these good quotes.

Great quotes but I would only like to add one important thing. They are all related to poker-like games. Player vs player games where none of players has any statistic advantage over others. Here your strategy (mainly money managment) and given rules may work. Nothing will ever work in games with house edge that are based only on luck. Any strategy, motivation, different approach will only make you lose more. The more you play to more you lose.

And now i will only ask if professional Poker player is a gambler? If not (for me his not) than those rules are not related to gambling.
