I got the email also, and my immediate reaction was one of suspicion.

How to stop the use of digital currencies in drug trafficking? de-criminalize drugs.
Yeah, but that is not too likely to happen right now, as various intelligence agencies the world over like to use drug-dealing to pad their black budgets.

Yes, and when Bitcoin miners and users are targeted we will all be in for a world of heart heart or hurt? lol

I can't send BTC from my iPhone using Blockchain.info. I have "Watch Only" accounts and I'd like to scan in the Private Key from a paper wallet when I send. However, I get a message that says "Cannot ask for private key without user interaction disabled." Can't figure out what that means.
I am having the same issue, only I am unable to send funds associated with an address to which blockchain.info already has the private key. I can send from blockchain.info from my computer but not from the iPhone.

Laszlo, PM me if this deal is still on.

Also keep in mind that your transaction is sent to *everyone*. This is great because it means that if you have your wallet.dat file with you, you could theoretically travel the 7 seas, hop off at the nearest port, walk up to the first best PC that is synced, update the wallet.dat file and start buy from whichever merchant you choose right there and then.
That's correct right?
That's about right. It is also possible to "receive" bitcoin to an address that is paired with a private key that is stored on paper, having never been connected to the internet. When the time comes to spend to coins held on said address, the private key is imported into a Bitcoin client or redeemed through a reputable service, such as blockchain.info.

Most of the old bitcoins probably are lost. Back then they were worthless, people just mined some and then just uninstalled bitcoin and deleted the wallet.
Lol, this is so ridiculously funny, I can just see people telling their grandchildren about it a hundred years down the road and it will sound something like "Well back at the day we mined and smelted Gold for fun and then we threw it away!" Hahaha, pretty much!

Who earns the transaction fees? Someone is coining it with these fees.
Miners. You must be new.

I'm trying to export/import now but am having trouble with it. How do I do it?
Export your private key from whatever client you are using, then create a blockchain.info wallet and import private key under the import/export tab.
|
|
|
Easy.
Get your private key for that address and import it to another client like Armory or blockchain.info.

If Barack Obama deserves a Nobel Peace Prize, then Bitcoin does not.
I would have a hard time accepting such a prize, given the likes of which have been given it in the past.

I would also like to pass along my gratitude!
Armory is great!
