281  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Thai Baht (฿) has always been the most frequently used Bitcoin symbol right? on: October 03, 2012, 03:08:56 PM
This is what I see:
282  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ASIC testing on main net is wrong, PERIOD. on: October 02, 2012, 11:11:03 PM
There are some offers from several manufacturers... Take them and deal with consequences, or design your own chip. It's simple as that.
283  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Buy BLF Now a Good Idea? on: October 01, 2012, 08:49:34 PM

if you buy BFL, you have some sort of upgrade path for the future.
Inaba, you should have posted this with your BFL forum account, so it's clear to OP that you are BFL employee.

Disclaimer: I'm not BFL hater and I have some Jalapenos already pre-ordered Smiley
284  Other / Off-topic / Re: Why do people play Minecraft? on: September 30, 2012, 11:23:06 PM
Minecraft is simply the best game I've ever played. I've been resisting it for the long time because of ugly graphics, but after I started plying, I realized that it's actually part of the game.

For those who like survival mod and are fans of post-apo, try PAS-HC server http://pashc.zapto.org/. There are mods like BuildCraft, Forestry and many others... also, HC in the name means everything is allowed there.
285  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin currently under attack? on: September 28, 2012, 09:28:05 PM
Few days ago I have seen someone complaining about snoopy constantly contacting him while not answering any requests. Good to know what it is and who's running it. Good luck in your research.
286  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: [Electrum] Independent monitoring of running servers? on: September 28, 2012, 12:00:52 AM
I love you guys! (not in a gay way Smiley )
I was thinking about something like this for a few weeks. I'm using Nagios for electrum and bitcoind monitoring, but tool like this is needed.
287  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why did you get into bitcoin? on: September 26, 2012, 11:14:17 AM
P2P
OpenSource
Relay on math, not trust.

At first I was like "How is this even possible Shocked ?"
But then "Of course! The blockchain! Why haven't anyone invented this before?"

288  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Cooling mining rig with winter temperatures on: September 25, 2012, 03:27:00 PM
For easy setup and good remote management - use BAMT
I had my rig outside last winter. I was worried at first too and was expecting some future problems with the machine, but everything is still 100% working. Only issue could be quick temperature decrease when internet connectivity is lost (but you can set-up local bitcoind, set it up as backup pool and go solo until the connectivity issue is solved if you are worried about water condensation).

CPU temp. - 0'C to 20'C
GPU temp. - 55'C to 70'C

22 confirmed orders for BFL SC ASIC Minirigs will have more hashrate than all current miners put together.
And it's a good think that this transition is happening now, and not 10 years later when everyone is using bitcoins.

gunmetal black, not plastic... just add texture like this...

...and it's exactly how I imagined it first time reading about it.

298  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Tulpenmanie, an exchange client on: September 10, 2012, 04:04:12 PM
Are you going to implement some simple rules (if price higher than X, sell.. etc.) or at least possibility to create bots as plugins? Btw. dividing app to server/client part would be awesome.
My first speculation profit is going to your donation address anyway... thanks.

I was wondering all day "what is that bet everyone is talking about?" Is it this one? I am giving 100% ROI to anyone who honestly thought this wasn't a joke. 1GLuTrFW6Bzu54ej6nkoxRA8esHBUHmXPY

300  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: What features would you want in an Exchange? on: September 09, 2012, 07:51:09 AM
Public source code of actual running instance so anyone can check. (unlike all except intersango for a while)
Not hosted on VPS (unlike bitcoinica)
All partitions encrypted (unlike bitfloor)
Two factor auth (yubi key / google auth / oath)
Clear terms and conditions, so the account is not frozen AFTER the money arrives. (unlike Mt.Gox)
Possibility to lock withdraw info. So potential hacker cannot do the worst.
Prefer security over comfort (larger offline wallet even if it means longer waiting time)
