281  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] SpreadCoin on: July 30, 2014, 01:23:07 PM
I had not heard about the 2106 time stamp problem before, so had to look it up Wink So apparently timestamps in bitcoin only run until 2106 unless a hardfork will be made.
Is this problem general in cryptocurrency or only for bitcoin/darkcoin ? What I mean to ask: Is there any other coin that is addressing this problem and that already has this 64 bit timestamp fix?
Probably it's not a big problem and I'm sure Bitcoin devs will be able to handle it if time will come, though they will need to put some effort in it. AFAIK most Bitcoin forks are affected by this issue and I don't know about any other fork which fixes it.

Meanwhile, I added checkpoint into wallet, you can download new version from OP. Also, I tried to make 64-bit Windows build (mining should be faster with 64 build), I made some fixes for it but it still fails with some strange linking errors.

Well, if you are the first to address it then it is definitely a point of sale, even if it is a problem that won't appear before 2106. Will download the new version. Mined quite some blocks now, it is funny to see the amount of coins per block decreases very slowly. Coins per block are now at around 66.65761667.

I dunno. It kind of sounds like you want the price to boost for your own personal gain...Wouldn't blame you but...I dunno.

I sold my 12K.  True story. I'm not a whale but bought in early enough...I currently have no QLT but am watching this thread precisely because I think that solution would benefit all.  The Pre-Mine is the only reason, in my opinion, that this coin is so undervalued.  All of the factors are here..low coin count, innovation, active dev...the potential is mind blowing.

That pre-mine won't be worth nearly as much now as it would cut 75% and the next QLT-Trader update...rare coin with unique feature.

I'll buy back in spades if that happens...give or take a percentile.

So yeah, I want an indication that the price will boost...why else would I be posting?  Markus just released something that is ridiculously cool and the price is dropping...the reason is obvious.

I think the real reason why the price is dropping is because that is how markets work: Buy the rumour, sell the news. It will go up again, might take some time, but it will.

This coin deserves much more attention than it is getting until now! People check it out, it is a real deal, which is so refreshing in this environment where fake coins pop up every day!
284  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [Moderated] [ANN][URO] A Real Long Term Currency: 1 Uro = 1 Metric Tonne Urea on: July 29, 2014, 06:42:07 PM

 Okay, for example

Dollars per Barrel of oil are currently 93 dollars, empty barrels make the most noise, but you still get scrap metal price for your empty barrel.
Dollars per empty Uro coin are 2 dollars, there is no scrap price.

So what is it, a bag of hope?

Try gathering 12500 coins and order a shipment of urea. See if you get empty bags. If you get full bags: Try selling them for 300 dollars. Then tell me what is the value of urocoin.

I am very curious to hear your plans for further development DEV  Smiley
My immediate plans are:
1. Set up a DNS seed. Currently it uses open BitTorrent trackers for peer discovery but I feel it uncomfortably to rely on 3-rd party services.
2. Make better logo and new splash screen. I'm not a designer myself but I have someone to ask.
3. Make block explorer inside the client. I already have some working code but it is yet incomplete.
4. Make online block explorer.

As for the more distant future, I have many great ideas. Many of them will probably be to difficult to implement but I still want to make something special for this coin.

Sounds good Smiley
Maybe you can keep a contest for the logo, there are some good designers that might be to make something nice.

I haven't tested the new bot trader yet, as i'm on linux Cry

Could someone write a little review?

Also will there be plans for a Linux wallet? or do we have to run through programs like wine?

Maybe it will work with mono (linux implementation of .net), I did not have time to try it myself yet, but I will when I have time. Quatloo-trader does not work with wine, I tried that Wink

288  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] SpreadCoin on: July 29, 2014, 12:03:52 PM
I love the guerillalaunch!
I also love that it is only minable with the wallet, meaning that there is something new inside.
Mining with my homepc now, hope to scoop some coins, although difficulty is increasing fast Wink
I see that the DEV, although not experienced with cryptocurrency, is an experienced programmer, not afraid to try something new.
Would be great if someone can review the code to see if there is hidden premine or something like that (don't think so, but just to be sure).
That being said: The OP should be containing more information. The coin needs a nice logo.
Also I got an error compiling in Ubuntu, a leveldb error.
Was able to solve it like this:

cd spreadcoin/src/leveldb
wget https://github.com/bitcoin/bitcoin/raw/master/src/leveldb/Makefile
chmod 775 * -R
make
make libmemenv.a
cd ..
make -f makefile.unix USE_UPNP=1

So in Ubuntu spreadcoind is working Wink No qt yet though.

I am very curious to hear your plans for further development DEV  Smiley

If people are really that worried about the premine why not research where it is? It is not that hard to read the blockexplorer. Everything is out in the open, it just takes a little time to find out that:

http://explore.quatloos.org:2750/a/QQZ36DF5yN
QQZ36DF5yN4PjzxqApCPZcdLXJVpXAZz3t
390810 QTL

This actually is part of the premine that is left untouched

http://explore.quatloos.org:2750/a/QYQTfJQG6H
QYQTfJQG6HBMFSB62d8GTAJBhzvJMVrvji
180633 QTL

This is an address that holds parts of the premine. If you follow the money from block 0 you will find out that a lot of amounts like 5000, 1000 are paid: most definitely the bounties.

These 2 addresses contain most of the premine: 571443 QTL.

Do your own research and find out that DEV is doing a good job, paying bounties and working very hard for this coin.

That can't be because URO coin is a scam right? geeze, everyone knows that...  Wink

yes, the same as the moon landing...... that was a scam to  Wink Cheesy Cool
What? Is URO going to land on the moon? Gonna order some urea to fertilize it Wink
291  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [Moderated] [ANN][URO] A Real Long Term Currency: 1 Uro = 1 Metric Tonne Urea on: July 26, 2014, 04:07:34 PM
I have been reading Uro thread for quite sometime, including the previous Uro thread that has been closed now, due to FUDsters horrible acts. Similar to other crypto threads in the bitcointalk.org, FUDsters are always present. How to deal with those FUDsters ? First, let's keep ourselves cool and calm in dealing with those FUDsters. I am "coolncalm" - new bitcointalk username.

I also found a good way in handling those FUDsters which have been implemented very well by the Vericoin community, which I strongly suggest that Uro community implement similar (or better) way of handling those FUDsters.

Here are the pointers in handling those FUDsters as in the Vericoin thread:

1. NEVER quote whatever the FUDsters post. If we still want to reply to those FUDsters, we do reply WITHOUT quoting his/her post.

2. Make a FUD List and a FUD Poll in which Uro community members can vote which of the FUDster rank as the top FUDster of the week. Members can vote once in 24 hours. Please visit Vericoin FUD List and FUD Poll here at http://www.vericoinish.com/index.php/blog/the-fud-list.

Quote from the above Vericoin link:

"Know Your FUDsters
We are all aware of people out there that love to spread Fear Uncertainty and Doubt but if you are new to the forums --- ALL THE FORUMS then this is a list you can use so you know who to ignore or block so you can just get the facts."
"
The FUD Poll
Who are this weeks FUDsters?

    Bobsurplus
    barabbas
    kenji

View   Vote
"

3. Put the link to the FUD List and FUD Poll on the top page of Uro thread permanently. Also put the link within the thread page and bump it once in a while if necessary, i.e: when a FUDster is present or just for the sake of bump.

Hope this post gives positive contribution to Uro community.

coolncalm

I agree, even though it's sometimes funny to laugh at their psychosis, quoting them just looks ugly.

Thanks DeepBlue. I hope someone from Uro community or Uro developer team can make that FUD List and FUD Poll. That FUD List and Fud Poll will eventually drive the FUDsters away, in full of shame, due to the hall of shame of the FUDsters.

I think it is a good idea. Hope more people will come with creative ideas like this one to stop the FUD  Smiley

This coin will survive all FUD. Not only because of support (which it has, and which is expanding), but because of it being a real innovation, and because of it being backed by a real life product. Don't get fooled by the FUD-ers, they are just boring frustrated people with too much time.
293  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [Moderated] [ANN][URO] A Real Long Term Currency: 1 Uro = 1 Metric Tonne Urea on: July 26, 2014, 03:21:29 PM
Even IF he filed for bankruptcy, than his company would be under a magnifying glass, making it MORE trustworthy, because he can not make mistakes without being noticed!
It is written here: http://sittingduckassetprotection.com/sites/default/files/bankruptcy.pdf
"If you run a business while you are bankrupt you must keep all proper accounts showing your business transactions and financial position."
294  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [Moderated] [ANN][URO] A Real Long Term Currency: 1 Uro = 1 Metric Tonne Urea on: July 26, 2014, 07:19:46 AM

"You have no idea about this guy he is the lowest form of scum. Preys on the unsuspecting innocent, his last scam made him bankrupt and his about to lose everything. This his is last dash for cash. So you can only imagine the lengths he will go to in order to save himself. His days are numbered.

I don't know about Australia, but are you aware that accusing a non-anonymous person of scamming in some countries is called slander and that you can actually be accused of slander and brought to trial?
295  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [Moderated] [ANN][URO] A Real Long Term Currency: 1 Uro = 1 Metric Tonne Urea on: July 26, 2014, 06:30:47 AM
I think we should get from this that people that get bankrupt or almost bankrupt are more likely not to be scammers, otherwise they would have found illegal ways to prevent bankrupty.

Wow, that's messed up man...

Has anybody heard anything from DEV's ?
I notice even the GF members have stopped posting in this thread.
Can somebody please inform us on what is happening here Huh

Well guess nothing is happening, which is the cause of all the problems at this moment.
Dev comes online from time to time (Last Active: July 24, 2014, 09:57:49 PM), but clearly chooses not to respond in this thread.

Very glad with this news!
Now the road is open for the further development of the NURO wallet and maybe other cloudbased applications!

You did. I needed a little bit more confirmation on the information you gave, and now I have it.

Ok, I am tired of all this. Coming no response whatsoever from the developer, while he has been online in the meantime. No sign of any improvement. No accounting for the expenses. No sign of working on anything like a revolutionary DAC implementation. Saying you are testing software, but not giving any insight on what is being tested or who is testing. Accepting no help nor other input from the community. Actually I think all the other people that were hired here are already gone. Only a developer that has sold a large amount of coins and does not care about the future anymore.
This once seemed to be a very promising coin. If all the promises were kept it could have been one of the best investments of 2014. But clearly it will not be.
I sold my whole bunch of Noirshares 2 weeks ago, just after the whole NoirShares facade imploded, and invested in another very promising coin, which had brought me more than 10 times my investment. I had invested in NoirShares for somebody 1 month ago. Sold 2 weeks ago with 50% loss. I was lucky 2 days after that with the other investment, his investment gave a return of 400%. Could have been with NoirShares if promises had been worked out in reality. I have been in this since February, so I have waited for a long time, but I call it quit now.
If someone is interested in my  0.26 BTC share of the General Fund, I am considering to give it away for the symbolic price of 1 satoshi, unless things change within the next week. I don't count on it, but miracles do happen sometimes  Roll Eyes
To people that are looking into this as a new investment: Don't buy at this point, it is a lot of talk and promises, but no action at all.
