Hi Nav Coiners,

We are very pleased with our testing of the Navtech anon system so far and hope that you enjoyed the live demo we released yesterday! Today we have a very special announcement for you, something you’ve all been waiting for. We are very excited to announce that will be launching the live beta test of the anon network next week!

Quote from: Nav Coin

Navtech Anon Beta

Start Date: Wednesday 28 September 2016

THE UNBREAKABLE CODE

The beta test will run in stages and, ramping up the number of users until we are happy that it is stable for general public use. For the first round we require 10 lucky Nav Coiners who are willing to trial the system and help us to iron out any remaining transaction processing issues.

If you are interested in participating in the private beta, please join us on slack:

http://navcoin.slack.com

If you need an invite to the slack channel, just PM any one of the dev team with your email address and we can send you one. I have opened the invites to allow all slack members to send invites, so once you’re in, you can invite your friends!

Once you’re in the slack, please join #navtech-anon-beta

Next Wednesday we will pick 10 lucky people from the channel to help us with the first round of testing and distribute the anon enabled Nav Coin wallet to them and invite them to a private testing slack channel.

The first round of beta test will have low transaction maximums enabled and the server will also be running a lot of debug logging for post analysis. The first round runs for just three days, from Wednesday 28 September to Friday 30 September. If there were no issues reported, we will recruit the second round of applicants to join the group and begin testing with larger amounts of both people and NAV.

If we do discover any issues which need addressing, we will pause between rounds and make the appropriate adjustments to the system before continuing. We don’t expect any major bugs to be found at this stage, so any issues should be cleared reasonably quickly.

All going well, round two participants will join the test group for the second 3 day period running from Sunday 2 October to Tuesday 4 October. From there we will take a quick pause again to comb over the data and make any necessary adjustments.

We will then open the third round of testing to whoever is left wanting to participate, followed by the public launch of the updated wallet for general public use.

I am also near to completing the whitepaper, I plan to publish in the next weekly update so it is available for public consumption while the beta is taking place.

Very exciting times!

We have a bonus addition to this announcement today.

Really?  Yeah we will think about removing it. Thank you for the tipp!
Yes, I saw it two times.
If this site is to see swapped coins, then maybe rename it to Swappedcoin-list.

I've setup a redirect to https://chainz.cryptoid.info/nav/#!rich should stop the fudders! thanks for the heads up Smiley

how would you use nav to purchase services or items if you cant tell who the transaction came from?

Easy! If you think about how bitpay works, it doesnt care where the coins come from. It generates an address for you to send to and as long as the correct amount is received to the address they specify the payment is considered completed.

You don't need to know who the sender is!

Hi Nav Coiners,

It's time for the weekly update again! First, if you're new here or if you haven't been keeping up with the solid stream of development we've been doing over the last couple of months, please have a look at the great Nav Coin Monthly Digest that Sophia and Mark have put together.

Navs Coin’s accelerating technological growth

It’s been a busy few months for Nav Coin. Let’s grab a cup of tea and take a sum of our latest technological advancements.

In other news, we have been making great progress with the Anonymous Network. We have successfully sent tests through the live network! To celebrate I have put together a live demo of me sending some Nav Coin through the anonymous network for you to check out!

We are working hard towards the relaunch of the anonymous system and it is our top priority right now. I have cut back my work hours to 3 days per week so I can focus on delivering it as soon as is safe and practical. Please be advised that testing is a tricky process and we will not re-launch the network until we are fully satisfied that it can process without even the smallest of problems. We are undertaking exhaustive testing measures during this time. We take protecting your privacy seriously and want to make sure that our system is flawless!

Soopy and the gang have been busy both supporting the anon network testing and working on their own projects also. The web wallet and raspberry pi staking unit are nearing completion. We have also added a few new projects to the in progress list that I'm sure you'll love. Including bringing Nav Coin anon to Android!!!!

Quote from: Nav Coin
Android Anon Send and Staking Wallet

We are building a full node wallet for Android. This wallet is based on the QT version of the full node wallet and will be able to stake NAV and send Anonymous Transactions from your mobile!

Mobile iOS Wallet

We are building an iOS wallet for Nav Coin. Users will be able to send and receive NAV using the iOS device of their choice. This wallet will run using the same Electrum server as the Android wallet.

Android and iOS Nav Tickers

We will be releasing Nav price tickers for Android and iOS so you can check the value of your investment on the move.

To see their progress, please head over to our projects page: http://navcoin.org/projects

To say that we are busy is an understatement. We have so many exciting projects in the pipeline and with the anonymous relaunch just around the corner we are firing on all cylinders! I can't wait to see what happens next. I am blown away by our teams efforts every week!

Stay tuned for the next episode!

Craig.

hey Craig,go here http://navcoin.org/social and hit reddit, will gonna take you to a place where last post it's 2years ago Smiley

What I think he is trying to say is that if you go to that URL the reddit link takes you to the old Navajo Reddit page and not the new NAV one.  Updating the link would fix the issue.

I've fixed this on the website. Sorry about that

last chance to buy below 10k
Are you sure it will be announced next week ?

As always yes. Smiley
OK, awesome. Time to sell my crashing Monero to invest more in NAV :-D

Every Monday we give an update on our progress is the point soopy is trying to make. If you read back through the pages we are hoping to move the anon network into stress testing over this weekend. We also have a few other cool things up our sleeve Wink

from what i get you guys work on PR,why the reddit it's so dead?,2 years since no post there,XMR and other coins got a lot of attention from Reddit, please take a look on it and start to post also there, thanks Smiley

I think you must be looking at the wrong reddit?

To jump in on this also.

I am currently refining the code and writing unit tests so it is fully prepared when we release the system. Please realise that we will be dealing with thousands of dollars of other peoples money so it is very important to make sure that all security concerns are addressed.

I hope to move from unit tests to stress tests over the weekend. We will keep you all updated with the progress during our weekly update on monday. In my experience it is best not to rush these things, I'm sure you can agree that you want a fully functioning, safe, secure system. Not something i rushed out at 3am.

I have organised with my day job to reduce my hours to 3 days per week so i can have 4 full days per week finishing the anon system and working on decentralisation.

We are making good progress and we will continue to do so into the future Smiley

Cheers,
Craig.

Full Node Wallet for OSX

Dear Nav Coiners,

This week, we are breaking from the usual format of having one weekly update to bring you this special announcement.

We have successfully compiled the full node wallet for Mac OSX and it is available for download now! Big shout out to Soopy for getting this compiled and bundled correctly!

We have two options available, the zip file contains the NavCoin-qt executable which you can run directly, or the dmg file which you can open and drag to your Applications folder.

To get your OSX full node client, please visit our downloads page:http://www.navcoin.org/downloads

This wallet will operate the same as the Windows and Linux Full Node Wallets and will store the whole blockchain as well as participate in PoS mining.

To compliment this addition to our eco system of wallets, I have also created a setup guides page on the website under the tools menu: http://www.navcoin.org/guides

Here you can find comprehensive setup guides for all the full node clients:

http://www.navcoin.org/guides#NavCoinFullNode

and also for the Tor configuration for the full node clients:

http://www.navcoin.org/guides#NavCoinTorNetwork

We will be adding to this list of guides in the coming weeks when we release the anon system to the public as this will require some small amount of configuration also.

We hope you like the new wallet and that OSX we are very pleased to finally offer a full node solution for OSX users which compliments the recent release of our Thin Client for OSX.

See you at the Monday Update!

Talk Soon,
Craig

I think it's brand new. We will wait before adding it to the exchanges page, but if it is legit, it opens up some great possibilities for people to buy NAV without having to buy BTC first!

NAV is now on Crypto-trade.net
https://crypto-trade.net

new exchange low volume not in USA  not sure where but chat box has a lot of Cyrillic messages

Hey this exchange looks really cool! it has heaps of fiat pairs for NAV:

NAV / USD
NAV / GBP
NAV / CNY
NAV / EUR

Nice one, i will add it to the exchanges page!

If anyone tries to cash in or out fiat, please let me know your experience!

in fact, try this. It works for me every time when i have to reinstall my VM. Starting from the root directory you checked out the project to eg. ~/navcoin2/

Code:
sudo apt-get install build-essential libtool autotools-dev automake pkg-config libssl-dev libevent-dev bsdmainutils libboost-all-dev
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:bitcoin/bitcoin
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install libdb4.8-dev libdb4.8++-dev libzmq3-dev libgmp3-dev libminiupnpc-dev
rm -r src/obj
mkdir src/obj
mkdir src/obj/crypto
mkdir src/obj/support
sudo chmod 755 src/leveldb/build_detect_platform
rm -r src/secp256k1/
cd src
wget www.navajocoin.org/files/secp.zip
unzip secp.zip
cd secp256k1
sudo chmod 777 *
./autogen.sh
./configure --enable-module-recovery
make
cd ..
make -f makefile.unix clean
make -f makefile.unix USE_UPNP=1

If this works for you, I will update the linux build instructions.

Don't forget to

Code:
sudo apt-get update

before installing the packages. You may have an old version of one of them.

Then try

Code:
make -f makefile.unix clean
make -f makefile.unix USE_UPNP=1

Pretty sure I've seen this particular build error before, i can't quite remember what fixed it.

I updated and used your commands but it still not works
Here the complete output:
Code:
node@node-V ~/navcoin2-master/src $ make -f makefile.unix clean
rm -f navcoind
rm -f obj/*.o
rm -f obj/*.P
rm -f obj/build.h
node@node-V ~/navcoin2-master/src $ make -f makefile.unix USE_UPNP=1

I use linux to navigate, I do not like windows because it is dangerous.
Exactly this is the reason why I don't want to use Windows, I don't trust it.
To run the client on linux, is more safe.

To your problem.. if you think your system is corrupt, then dont connect it to the internet.
1. Run your wallet on a offline computer and extract the private keys to the adresses with your coins.
2. Import this keys on a fresh/clean system and client.
3. Transfer the coins to a new clean wallet to be safe.
4. Dont try to repair a corrupt system, better install the system new.

You're definitely on master branch right?

Can you please pull master again? i just updated some missing locale files that were accidentally added to my gitignore.

I don't think that will solve this, but you would fail GUI compiling without them.

I can't reproduce the problem here, but I have also all the libraries to compile bitcoin, so perhaps something in there is missing for you?

You could try adding the bitcoin build dependencies:

Code:
sudo apt-get install build-essential libtool autotools-dev automake pkg-config libssl-dev libevent-dev bsdmainutils
sudo apt-get install libboost-all-dev
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:bitcoin/bitcoin
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install libdb4.8-dev libdb4.8++-dev libzmq3-dev libgmp3-dev libminiupnpc-dev

I'm also wondering if you need to rebuild secp256k1, but that should be a different error.
