I was going to ask where my order asset history went to...I kind of need that information.
quick fix would be to switch to the python command line client. that was capable of browsing the complete history (not only the 10 last entries as 1.0 did). final solution is to wait for N to migrate that information to 2.0 well, at least it does not show completed orders as 0 volume @price of trade good catch. a bug indeed

until nefario started collecting e-mail addresses as part of the registration, it was pretty untraceable who owns shares at glbse. the only link in 1.0 was a keypair and incoming bitcoins. with 2.0 e-mail is linked to an account and there goes the plausible deny ability.
as non U.S. resident i look forward to the rising supply of shares caused by this regulation. </sarcasm>
thanks for the link.

I've noticed forms forget field values/content when refreshed (confirm/create, form has invalid input, shows error message but upon redrawing the form, all entry fields are empty) not bug, just annoying a bit
It IS annoying, although I've not found the proper way to pay this form information around maybe a warning or note in the howto would make user aware that they should prepare their data (text for IPO p.ex.) in an external editor and keep this copy elsewhere and just copy paste. this seems like a few steps extra but for example contract and other stuff should be prepared in an external tool anyway. just to say that in advance. loosing test data is not an issue while an hour work on wiring the contract directly in the form and then loose it that could be disappointing.

Have you found any more bugs?
nope. no more known issues (I'm not a penetration tester though) I've noticed forms forget field values/content when refreshed (confirm/create, form has invalid input, shows error message but upon redrawing the form, all entry fields are empty) not bug, just annoying a bit

Yes glbse.com will be the base domain, but I don't think it's going to be the root url, I think it will be: https://glbse.com/app/All fees are user settings (defined by me, not the user), so it shouldn't require any programming, I've already reset the dividend fee to 0, so give that a try. dividend fees are OK (nill), done testing. I've noticed something interesting (not an issue) instead of payment of 1.63 as requested I paid 1.62999758 similar instead of 16.3 payment was 16.29999771 I know where it comes from and can not be reproduced for in most cases. it works because of 163 and 313 are prime numbers and don't divide well as i said, not a bug; more like precision thing application behavior is correct

Mila, I think I've fixed the reserve bug, give it a try.
I confirm, it's fixed. can not reproduce any more congrats. what's next? turning off the dividend fee? and could you, please, move the buy/sell orders of a given asset move higher in the page? http://dev.glbse.com/asset/view/TEST0if not move it at least consider possible change I'd put them on top, right under the header and above the charts, it's the replacement of market depth imo it's the most looked after piece of info and should not require scrolling the page each time

thanks for all your info, mila
I entered "0.1 hours from now" for ipo time
you're welcome. your asset was issued, creating a sell order should be now possible.

I entered "0.1 hours from now" for ipo time
it looks like the date is saved properly just the 0.1 hours should have passed by now could you try with 1 minute from now or yesterday's datum? dates from past should work. I summarized my browser history values in here: https://sourceforge.net/p/glbseguide/wiki/IPO/

guys, sorry I'm late to the party, maybe too late.
I created and account (worked this time) and tried to create a issue (PROFIT). I played around but can't seem to even do the most basic things like enter orders.
Is there any documentation (guess not, right?)
Is there a place to talk? checked #glbse, noones talking.
http://dev.glbse.com/asset/view/PROFITshows 0 shares issued. at the same time http://dev.glbse.com/ipo/6 shows that your IPO time&date is not there yet. just repeat the create step with another ticker and as time of ipo choose yesterday or 1 minute from now the script that issues shares runs every 2 minutes so it might take a while your ipo seems like waiting for midnight ... as for the documentation, I wrote the claim your account page first https://sourceforge.net/p/glbseguide/wiki/Home/and will add more text as time goes by. probably IPO should be next.

will the improved bitcoin history also show paid dividends? I keep paying and they only show up as records in 'fees paid' but not as a bitcoin spending.
and I edited my previous post to add a wish to access motions for my asset. I have to guess url atm

I think the reserve bug is now fixed, can someone try to prove me wrong please.
no, it is still out there. buying shares @2 (ask 1.5) and the difference adds up to the btc reserved ... while you're hacking the sources, could you add a link to motion 'results/tally' pages somewhere? I guessed the url http://dev.glbse.com/vote/view/1 to see the results but I think id deserves a link

Are we still having issues with the BTC reserve going down after orders are processed?
yes. see user ne@nada.va gui/design remark/wish: can the "Account showing:" be visible on every page while user is logged in? currently it's only visible in 'Portfolio' and I think it even changes while I click on the assets and different other pages and often loose track which account I am using. that would be huge usability improvement (keep the Account showing: in header on all pages) also I miss a summary 'Bitcoin history' view in the 2.0. got used to it and it's easier to read than the tables with partial info (fees paid, trades, etc). just my next 2 satoshi on the subject. also zero volume trades are still possible : (

(with the exception of approximately 1.5Ghash of mining power from John, who should be coming online this week, due to the renovations of his house, you can see details on this in our forums at forum.btcsyn.com)
the referenced thread is here: http://forum.btcsyn.com/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=40 any pics from the cabling progress?

... and as my understanding will solidify I would like draft summaries and recommendations in the IT lingo for development ... I can commit myself to closely watch glbse related threads ...
thus said ^^ I do have some CS background, so if you would like to translate the "shoulds" into dev-lingo, I'd be thrilled to read them and make comments.
that's my plan. to check with you if the change requests (feature requests) make sense and add to the usability of glbse for ETF there are also some practical questions, such as: question is: should the ETF pricing be derived from the aggregated underlying bid/ask? should the pricing be done by the issuer or from GLBSE ? etc etc
as long ETF is a standard asset with generic buy/sell orders (and nothing else), GLBSE has no tools or rules how it could influence the pricing (it is the responsibility of the asset manager and his ability to react accordingly on market moves). I have only a basic understanding (imagination) how pricing derived from bid/ask could be dome. such option would simplify the "minute to minute" operations right there at the server side without the need to develop a bot. it makes sense as well to leave this repetitive and error prone task to a computer. my first thought was a but ... the price would be then 'free floating' subject to all (also to sudden) swings in supply/demand and price changes. pricing by glbse would require new types of asset where the issuer would agree to that and the rules would be well known and properly supported by the software. is not glbse too small for that yet anyway? moving prices with control of let's say 20-40% shares in 2/5 of constituents should be easy, especially if bot would react in real time and could be trapped in a position that triggers asset sell off (note to myself, thing of built in limits, conditions to check for, border conditions and user/issuer preferences p.ex.) if nothing would change, ETF manager would be as any other asset manager, manually creating orders, by your previous note closer to managed fund than ETF and deviate from constant ratio of all constituents at all times (p.ex. great differences in price per stock, up to 15x cheaper/more expensive shares of mining companies exist. sales of the expensive stuff would occur only 1 in 15 times where the cheaper asset should be sold.) assuming trading volume will not burst and spreads would be reasonable, how the aggregate pricing formula would look like in real world exchange, please?

I do read the 2.0-thread from time to time and even tinkered with the GLBSE2 for a day - just do NOT have the time to commit.
I'd be more than happy to lay out how it "should be", though. This thread is here for exactly that - figuring out how ETFs work and how they should work on GLBSE.
I appreciate your comments, (re)read them carefully and reflect on them. From my point of view it is already as good as it can get (reading your posts, from an expert voicing the "shoulds") and as my understanding will solidify I would like draft summaries and recommendations in the IT lingo for development and hope they will make it on the development roadmap. if accepted for development, write test cases and see how it goes from there with the 2.0 being out 'any day soon' and only a finite number of important & missing stuff & promised new features that need to be developed ... one day requests from the community may be taken into account. while waiting for that to happen I can commit myself to closely watch glbse related threads (and poke nefario). alles gute!

I realize that GLBSE 2.0 is in beta and I'm trying to play around with my fake 1,000 BTC. None of my orders executed so far, but I'm not sure how many orders really exist or are functioning at this time.
hi, welcome and try to visit following links http://dev.glbse.com/asset/view/TICKhttp://dev.glbse.com/asset/view/SYN1http://dev.glbse.com/asset/view/MUMRAHand place orders at 1, 2, 3, 5, 10 to see if you buy something. I see an issue with closed orders not being purged from the interface, this might be indeed confusing but I created sell orders at various prices in all 3 assets listed above try to imagine that the upper 50-90% of the table of sell orders have been already executed/paired and should have been removed (at least this is how it worked in 1.0 and that it will be addressed in the coming days). nevertheless set higher buy price (recommended above as well) to see what you can buy and that you can buy. with the entries at the bottom of the "sell orders" table you have higher chance that they are open and can be bought. what I created for you known sell orders at the time of writing MUMRAH 1.0 5 2012-03-20 08:41:28 Cancel MUMRAH 2.0 5 2012-03-20 08:41:35 Cancel MUMRAH 3.0 5 2012-03-20 08:41:43 Cancel MUMRAH 4.0 5 2012-03-20 08:42:15 Cancel MUMRAH 10.0 5 2012-03-20 08:42:24 Cancel SYN1 10.0 99 2012-03-20 08:42:33 Cancel TICK 2.3333333 300 2012-03-20 08:42:53 Cancel TICK 2.0 500 2012-03-20 08:52:01 Cancel SYN2 5.0 200 2012-03-20 08:52:11 Cancel it's play money, play with it and once you run out of the 1000 btc welcome credit, create new account and play further

I PMd nefario, the owner and lead dev od GLBSE. Maybe he'll regard this as important enough to include in future revisions.
If you like playing with raw software, you might want to try out the "2.0" and propose change requests how the needed things could be properly implemented. I'd love to discuss alternative ways of doing things at the exchange (and at least semi-privately half-open to users to reap relevant feedback) I still hope he'll be opening the circles of co-workers on this and split the work between non-programmers your expertise as consultant who can word change requests (what's missing in the standard etf manager's tool box; you've got knowledge) his experience id developing and running the whole stuff other active folks (afaik the 'BitcoinGlobal' - mother company of GLBSE had several founding members). In the novel snowcrash the term 3 ring binder was used to describe rules and protocols. your guide to ETF or it's a very promissing sprout (stub, Keimling ?) Nefario fixed 'all known bugs' & could be in good mood & after some rest. Please share notes for comparison, if possible
