Thanks for the great questions and answers! As the info shows, the project may have hundreds of cards eventually.
My assumption, based on the information provided at the Tau Swapbot ( https://swapbot.tokenly.com/bot/m4nki/age-of-chains-official-swapbot-tau-the-time-traveller#choose) is that there could be hundreds of thousands of individual cards, possibly a million in total. The webpage states that the chances are way below 1% that Tau would be found in a deck pack. I take that to mean that, if there are 8000 Tau cards that would mean the total number of cards would be way more than 800,000. I could be misconstruing 'chance' or variables like the size of the deck pack, possible plans to destroy/burn cards, etc. Lots of variables could impact the final numbers. I'm wondering about the price of cards as well. How will the price of card packs be determined and will the $100.00 price be the average minimum for all future cards in that line (i.e., Tau) or will the average minimum be higher? We aim at having around 200 non cosmetic cards at release for creating a diverse deck building and playing experience. Not all but many of the cards will be blockchain based. I would love to create a supply of cards that grants us creating 100 million regular card packs, each holding five cards. The rarer a card, the lower the probability of obtaining the card through the purchase of a card pack. Feel free to calculate the drop probabilities of our exisisting cards in such card packs taking the above mentioned numbers but be aware that numbers are not final yet and still may change. However, this already demonstrates the direction in which we aim to head. The price of card packs still is being evaluated as it is not an easy task at this stage of development. One of the factors influencing this are Bitcoin network related transaction costs that might increase further up until release depending on the increase of Bitcoin's popularity. Transaction costs also might decrease, assuming segregated witness and lightning network are being implemented. Another factor is the decision of how many cards actually are going to be in a card pack as well as implementing different types of card packs with different pricing. Are all these cards tradeable ? and how to realize such a big list of trading items ? I mean it would not be practical to hope any exchange to lisk the whole pack of cards .
All of the cards sold so far are tradeable. I doubt that will change. Even the deck board is tradeable. They are Counterparty tokens which, once you own, you can trade, loose, destroy, or use. While many of our cards are going to be tradeable, we also want to make the game attractive for Free-to-Play players to bring in a huge number of additional players. As mentioned above, this means there will be some cards that are no tokens that can be earned ingame. how to realize such a big list of trading items ? I mean it would not be practical to hope any exchange to lisk the whole pack of cards .
It does not need to be an 'altcoin exchange' that lists the cards. Spells of Genesis cards are not on exchanges. The exception is the Counterparty DEX where SoG and AoC cards (and other game tokens) are both being traded at present. I would say that an important aspect of the 'tradeablity' is being able to trade one specific card for another specific card. It can be done with the DEX (maybe with IndieSquare wallet now?) but the experience is not so user friendly. The AoC team could fork IndieSquare or develop their own wallet. Exactly right: We do not necessarily need an extra exchange for our cards as the Counterparty Dex as well as other apps such as Book of Orbs (where we are looking to get listed on in the future) work great for that. We also aim at creating a possibility to trade your cards within our game to remove additional effort from the player and give him the full experience within our environment. Would there be an essential asset or card acting as the currency inside the system? Good question. I'm guessing that it will be released with the 'ICO'. I would love to have a token related to our lore acting as the main medium of exchange within the game. A potential ICO would introduce it to us.

Thanks for all the posts, guys - great to see some action going on in here! Also another big thanks to the supporters that have been buying cards in the recent days - we now are in Tier 2 for all cards except for Woodcoin's Guardian where two cards in Tier 5 are left before being sold out! If you do an ICO, I hope you will burn all the tokens after redemption of ranks/ICO assets or whatever benefits. I would hate to see another shitcoin being used for game assets. I have to say that the way you have done it so far is excellent by only accepting BTC or XCP for selling your cards.
We are evaluating all options considering the ICO. I already have something in mind but that would not include burning the tokens such as BitCrystals is doing but rather serve creating a direct flow of fiat money into our network. Anyone here on LinkedIn? I would be happy to connect: https://www.linkedin.com/in/kilian-kunst-b7a36b88/For securing more intros towards angel investors, I am crawling my network for checking who could make intros to relevant people so any connector willing to do intros can be of great help. I have asked for a more detailed explanation of these communities interest in the heart for follow this community Not sure what you mean by that. Could you please elaborate? bounty for german translation?
We already have done a German translation of the initial OP but did not receive much traction on it - our core thread is this one. Just pleading to the devs: pleaase don't allow for mega-super-ultra face smorc decks like Hearthstone. Yes, like I've said earlier in this thread: I do love HS. But that is the one thing I really don't like. I want all decks to be at least somewhat thoughtful and well paced, not mindless "go face" until your opponent dies on turn 4 because he has nothing to contest you with.
(PS: new account since my original got hacked)
Thanks for this feedback, we indeed put lots of thoughts into deck creation to avoid the problem you mentioned. I will also forward your feedback to our game designer and am looking forward to having you participate in our playtesting phase in case you are interested, so you can try it yourself and have some influence on the game design. Game ICO, finger cross! You know people like games and recent game ICOs are very successful, Nexium, Augmentator Mobilego and so forth. You will definitely rock!
Thank you, dragonares!

That is weird, what kind of error are you getting? It should work fine.

Nice to see the team keep making progress.
Good luck.
Would there be a ICO for the project?
Thank you, overthetop2011! Yes, we plan to have an ICO before the release of the game. On a side note, there are just two Woodcoin's Guardian cards left before they are sold out.

Incoming MessagesTwo signals are reaching us from outer space, coming from different directions. One of these messages is electrically charged and caused our message decrypting expert to collapse when the signal reached his machine to which he was connected to via headphones: The other transmission seems to be coming from all directions, no matter where we point our radio telescopes to. It somewhat seems to be an omnipresent message that we have found here: A decipherment of these two messages is to be expected within the next 48 hours. Maybe you already have an idea?

Qtum is taking Bitcoin Core 0.13, integrating the Ethereum Virtual Machine, and adding an "Account Abstraction Layer" so that existing Etheruem contracts will work on Qtum with minimal changes.
Counterparty could be competing with Qtum.
Why arn't they doing this.
I want an answer from the devs.
P.s For your information, i am a XCP holder/big supporter since ICO & i want us to compete with them !!! Devs Why are we not doing this !!! regards Bitdexter
I think it is a wise decision not to go after the hype of turing complete blockchains.

your game graphics are not good , sorry about that. i didnt like it.
Good luck.
Well, duh. It's not even in alpha yet. Nobody is supposed to like these graphics, it's just a mockup (google it if you don't understand the game design process). Thanks for sharing, dev. It's always a risky move to show these early development screenshots since not everyone understands the concept of sketches/mockups and how much they differ from a final product. On to the picture itself.. my first thought was "what's with the 3 separate parts of the board with different planets?" Care to explain a little more? I'm curious. Hey kwest, great question! As a player, you will be in the position of defending three individual territories, herein represented by the individual planets. Whoever manages to first destroy two out of three territories of the opponent, wins the match. When having a match, you have to carefully decide which of the three territories you backup with troops. As a nice customization aspect, the territories will vary in environment depending on which planet they represent and you as a player will be able to change your particular territory pregame by owning certain cards representing the respective territories. --- Also, thank you for the amazing buy support! There is currently just one Woodcoin's Guardian card left at Tier 5 that I will transfer to the swapbot at a random time within this month so if you want to secure yourself the last Guardiancard, make sure to stop by its swapbot once in a while. After that, our first card's direct purchases will be sold out - you will only be able to buy it on the open market or get it by chance through the purchase of card packs upon game release.

It is a pleasure to see concrete progress. First sketch is pretty good. But the avatar of the player is bad.
Good Luck !

Thanks for the feedback. As said, this is just an initial mockup to give angel investors that have no idea about trading card based video games a first impression of the game. It is not at all how the game will look like upon release.

Congratulations!
Congrats and Good Luck !
Awesome! Congrats. Looking forward to trying out your game. I hope you'll make an alpha/closed beta available to your investors here on the forum. I've beta tested other games, including Hearthstone. It would be really fun to have some part in the development of Age of Chains, even if it's just bug finding and giving feedback.
Thanks everyone! We definitely will make the prototype accessible to a selection of community members as we know how valuable your feedback is. Great to know that you already playtested comparable games before! I will dive deeper into it once the time has come. To get a first glimpse about our game board across, I share with you here a first sketch: Note that this is just a first draft that we use in our pitchdeck. The card layout and everything related to the board will look very different and much more advanced within the game. Also note that our current plans for deck-building are that a deck will consist of 40 cards including one commander card. Commander cards are very powerful cards. Upon start of the match, you will automatically already hold the commander in your hand so you can count on having it ready to play when you need it. All three cards released so far are commander cards.

Very interesting. Will definitely follow the development.

So, we're past the deadline now. How did it go?
Waiting for the evaluation of the pitchdeck. OK. Good luck! Thank you, kwest! Our effort has been rewarded. =)

UpdateAccelerator Phase 2: Investor TargetingWe successfully passed the first phase of the accelerator program and are now entering the investor targeting phase. If you happen to know an investor looking to possibly get involved with Age of Chains, we welcome you to reach out to us.As part of the program, we are looking to get to ten investor introductions by Monday next week. As mentioned before, our goal is to raise the funds (~ $800.000) from angel investors as a seed round within the duration of this program, which will end in April/May. We hope to be done as soon as possible with the fundraising process. Community SurveyBetter understanding who you are will strengthen our position in front of angel investors and increase our chances to successfully secure the initial seed round that we currently are looking to close in order to being able to deliver you an amazing game within a relatively short time frame. Therefore we are grateful for anyone within our community filling in this anonymous survey - thank you! ---> Participate Here <---Technical PrototypeWe already have developed the game mechanics and cards to an extent where we are able to playtest the game. Currently we are setting up everything for an initial technical prototype that enables us multiplayer functionality (1on1) to bring further playtesting to the next level. We will build a team of playtesters to kickstart our feedback loop and constantly improve the game balancing & mechanics until release. This way we ensure to build a game that people love.

Thank you for the amazing support, everyone! Current card sale status: Woodcoin's Guardian: 7 cards left in Tier 5. Tau the Time Traveller: 438 cards left in Tier 2. L'ourn, Hidden Defender of Monero: 365 cards left in Tier 2. The accelerator is about to enter the second phase. We are currently working on an overhaul of the pitchdeck and have already put lots of work into it. In my eyes, it looks good but does not seem yet to satisfy the accelerator's program leader. We got a deadline due to Monday to significantly improve the pitchdeck or we will drop out of the program. If that would be the case, we would continue our path as before and still move on reaching out to investors for securing an initial fundraising round. The traction we have achieved so far due to your support has proven that what we are looking to achieve has gigantic potential. Our revenue so far looks as follows: Continuing our card release and development progress, we are confident that even if we would not secure outside funding, we will achieve our goal of coming out with a revolutionary game to be known among the world. So far, you have been helping us a lot for realizing this vision - thank you! I have hired a designer for drafting out a preliminary version of our game board and I am looking forward to sharing it with you in the upcoming days. We will soon start inviting our community to join our Slack. Please pm me your email address if you would like to join. Best, m4nki
