281  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Butterflylabs Huge SCAM on: May 30, 2013, 01:58:15 AM
Butterfly labs is awesome at scamming

I thought they were shipping now? Or is that all BS? I was very tempted to buy one at one stage but just went with 2 7970's instead... I am very impatient and I would like to mine some coins before they all run out! lmao
282  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: help with silk road on: May 30, 2013, 01:55:55 AM
Wow, hate for silk road/peoples choices is strong in here huh? Bitcoin used to be something beautiful, but now it has turned into something ugly and elitist... I've nearly had it with this crypto crap! It's not the crypto's themselves, it is some of the people involved with them!

Why judge? Just help! If you don't want to help fine, then just move on to another post you DO want to help with... Totally pathetic!

To the OP, hope you got the problem sorted, it wouldn't surprise me if these naggin ninnies haven't found a way to block silk road... If they could they surely would! How dare you decide to spend YOUR money where YOU choose! Don't you know you need to yeild to control freaks? Come on man, get with it! /s
283  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN][BBQ][POOL][PPLNS][STRATUM][0% FEE] Silverwolf's BBQ Pool on: May 30, 2013, 01:45:35 AM
I left the pool today... The guy/guys (?) over at BBQ.org are proper fools! They refuse to listen to any advice from anyone and are not welcoming at all... These cryptocoins are all about the community, why would you treat the community like crap? Especially when the coin is struggling as it is!

Any way, it is a waste of time to be honest and the price just keeps tanking, shame really cos it could have been good! Oh well, back to the old faithful for me.

Good luck with your pool, hope it picks up and I hope the guys at BBQ.org can pull their heads out of their arse! lol

GPU-README

search for --gpu-memdiff

Okay so read that, I don't get it though because I used to use guiminer and could set the clock/mem to whatever I liked within catalyst...

That is really odd... So to get this straight I can not have a difference bigger than 150? Even though people claim to be doing that all the time lol... In fact I have done it myself many times...

Also I am back on litecoin at the mo seeing what is up there and it is doing the exact same thing...

I am confused...

Sorry for the delay just been fiddling and encountering more problems... Something defo isn't right... When I try to delete something out of the folders it goes to the bin but doesn't leave the folder... God knows what I have done...

I will try to read the read me but I find it so confusing, I know it is probably really straight forward for you but for me it is gobbledygook. lol

Oh and another thing... Isn't sha supposed to be easier to mine than scrypt? But so far it seems I can hit 750 kh/s with scrypt but I can't even hit 700 with sha... Strange...
286  Bitcoin / Mining support / cgminer is being funny... on: May 29, 2013, 10:03:05 PM
Okay so I just switched over from mining script (fancied a change) and cgminer for some reason keeps playing up... For 1 it is locking up a lot! Just freezing then the display driver crashes... Another issue is that when I try to change the clocks it won't let me do certain things... Like if say I adjusted the mem to 800 or 900 it just won't have it... I can go to 1000 or 1100 but when I go below this it auto adjusts it back to 1345 or something like that...

I must be doing something wrong Sad

I will add that today I flashed one of my cards as it was getting a fairly low hashrate. I have reinstalled drivers today too... It was acting up a little with script too but nowhere near as bad...

Anyway it is hard to know what is going on as I have made so many changes! lol...

Anyone fancy troubleshooting this one with me?

I even started with a fresh cgminer folder thinking that maybe something from my script mining was interferring... But that did nothing... I would normally use bitminter but it seems I can not go above 660 kh/s on that, no matter what I do...
287  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is special about BBQ coin? on: May 28, 2013, 12:14:24 PM
I've been mining BBQ coin this past week and I am loving the amount I am getting! I know it is not worth much right now but who knows! Popularity and interest is building so hopefully it will keep going and do very well. Jump on-board while the difficulty is still low!

I am toying with the idea of making a middleman type site for ALL tradable crypto coins. I think it would be nice if people could buy things with any coin they like! I could really do with some help getting it together. If anyone is interested in helping/joining with me then please send me a PM.

I think opening up the market a little would be great for all coins and all crypto junkies! Smiley

If you are getting artifacts you might want to turn the mem speed down a bit.  Other than that it looks pretty good to me.

Okay cool, thing is I have always gotten artifacts while I'm mining, no matter which miner I use, youtube vids won't play properly either, the picture keeps freezing... Do you think more ram could solve this? I only have 4gb of system ram at the moment and I see from the task manager that I only have a small ammount free, although it says I am using 46% or something, still don't get that. Does that take into account virtual memory or something?

Is there a way to turn the intensity down within cgminer or does it have to be done in the conf/.bat file?

Also how come I can change a conf to a txt and then edit it but I can't change a .bat and do the same... Is there a way to edit a .bat?

Oh and yeah I was gonna say, turning the mem speed down wouldn't do anything surely? Because no matter what I set the mem speed to cgminer will use it to it's fullest right? Leaving no room for anything else, only thing you could do is turn the intesity down? I used to do that in guiminer when I watched a film as I used to get screen tearing and artifacts. Turning the intensity down solved that.

With cgminer though I no longer get any problems with video playback, except for online videos.

I saw a thread before about using on board graphics for running the OS/GUI, do you know if that is possible? I believe there was something you could possibly do in the bios though I'm not sure.

When running cgminer, press G to change the gpu settings.  You can try different settings here before typing them into the configure file.  They will take effect as soon as you change them but will be not be saved.

The memory speed will certainly make a difference.  Cgminer will run it at whatever speed you set it at, too fast and you'll get artifacts, rejects, or crashes.

running your desktop off the built in graphics and just using the cards to mine is possible, but it's sometimes hard to get working properly.

you can edit a bat file by right clicking it and choosing "Edit" from the menu.

Silly me, didn't see the intensity option before! doh! lol...

Well just had a play with both intensity (going down to 10) and mem clock speeds (going down to 1300) on the main gpu (display gpu) and nothing helps, the videos still jerk and such. The sound plays okay but image freezes and jerks. Just checked I have the latest flash and I do... As a control I disabled the gpu and youtube ran fine...

This is very odd, I have not come across this problem before. The only thing I can think is a ram issue or maybe a driver issue. Grrrrrr, well I will have to live with it I guess, I so want to get a dedicated miner! lol... One day, cheers for your help any way.

Hey there, finally got down to sorting my cards out and I think they are doing okay now... Can I just post my stats and ask you to look over them for me incase something is no good...

cgminer with 2 7970's

Clock 950
Mem 1680 (it hasn't crashed but wondering if I may cause damage?)
fan speed 75%
Temps 75

Hashrate 666 (dun dun duuuuun) when pc not in use and 640 ish when in use...

card 2

clock 990
mem 1664
fan speed 65%
temps 76

Hashrate 692

This seems to be the best and most stable I can get it... I have no pci risers yet else I'm sure I could get those temps down some or even eek a little more out of the cards.

I am getting some artifacting on screen with firefox but movies and such play fine.

Do you think this is okay to leave for long periods?

If anyone would like to know more about how I got this please ask. Smiley

And to silverwolf... Still haven't got round to doing that tweaking, grrrrrr, why do I never have any time when I need it! lol...

Any way donation is now set. Smiley

How about implimenting an indicator for the donators? As they do with other pools I have seen...

And I had another idea regarding the BBQ's... We need to start up a middle man service ala bitcoin. So that people can spend them, I think it would be a great boost for the coin and make it more profitable to mine. I am looking for people to join up with to start such a service... Would you be interested? Is there anyone that is interested?
292  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN][BBQ][POOL][PPLNS][STRATUM][0% FEE] Silverwolf's BBQ Pool on: May 24, 2013, 01:54:18 PM
Love the pool

Love the contest even more (especially since my computer is about as fast as a Commodore 64...and it takes me a week to get 1 BBQ Coin)

Fingers crossed-hoping I win

This pool is great, Im getting shares faster than any other pool that I have used prior

Hey fella, why not treat yourself to a 7950 or even a 7970? Take your computer to a whole new dimension, and hash some nice coins while you're at it! Smiley

Btw if you were part of the competition then you did "win" as the pot was split between us equally regardless of hashing power.

That may well change though, in fact not sure it is even still going...

I have still to set my donation (naughty me!) but I will do that right now while I remember...

Any way glad to have you on board and glad you are enjoying yourself. Smiley

I am mining BBQ at the moment but I am beggining to wonder if it is worth it, people are dumping hundreds of thousands on the exchanges. Does anyone think BBQ will recover from this? At the mo even CNC is worth way more than a BBQ lmao... Any way I will stick at it for a while just incase.

That is the way mining goes. The coins that seem profitable are the ones that fly, then often crash and burn, because all their network hash (miner-tarts) deserts them as soon as a better (apparent) prospect comes along.

The coins which survive and prosper are generally the ones that build up slowly , with longer term supporters. (check out the history of BTC and LTC)

Lol yeah I guess, it was nice watching hundreds roll in everyday rather than a fraction of 1 though lol... Nevermind, it might surprise us and rise like a pheonix out of the BBQ flames! Lmao On that day, I will be rich! Smiley

Just wanted to pop by and let you know that I am on board, and that this is the first time I have seen my name next to block found Smiley lol...

I wonder, do you fancy helping me tweak my miner a little? I have 2 7970's and I always struggle getting a good hashrate with script..

My current settings per card...

Msi ghz 7970

clock: 855
mem: 1500
guiminer: 7970 (low usage)
Threads: 2

Hashrate = 588

Powercolor non ghz

clock: 830
mem: 800
guiminer: 7970 (low usage)
threads: 2

Hashrate = 564

Windows 7, GUIscrypt alpha, 4gb of ram and an intel i5 cpu...

I can get a little more but I gotta crank everything right up and it doesn't seem worth the extra noise from the fans to get the little increase...

Also whenever I mine scrypt I see that I get loads of blocks on screen, but when I mine with bitminter client I don't get that and I get a better hashrate...

If you can help me out that would be great and as a thank you I will set my donation Wink

Please help cos I don't seem to find anything that works for me... Sad

you are not going to get your money back ... but a GPU is a GPU .. better use another 7970 for Xfire and enjoy some good looking games for a long time :>

Check if your PSU can provide enough power also.

Well I will still have some fun all the same and like you say there is the gaming option... Obviously this is not aimed and mining bitcoin btw...

So what you reckon? 7950 or 7970?

Power should be okay. TX750

Oops I'm tired, didnt even see your suggestion lol...

Might as well go with the 7970 then...

Nice one.
