I just did the numbers on our rags 2 riches promotions and made a slight change and addition to it.

Our objective with these tournaments is: giving players a way to build their roll for free to join the major tournaments lateron, but at the same time keeping the costs for this promotions low.

To balance this out, I updated these tournaments once more, to bring both objective in balance.

From now on the tournaments in the Rags2Riches promotion will guarantee 4 entrants payout. This will half the overlay we currently have on these tournaments. In exchange we have added a step 4 to the series, a s22 tournament with a guaranteed prize pool of 80 chips. Although the guaranteed prize pools are lower for the tournaments, this extra step makes it easier to move up to our s550 tournaments within bankroll. We will be reviewing the costs of this promotion for the coming week to see if we can add the final step: 200 guaranteed for s55 buyin, making the way up complete.

With our upcoming promotion on various forums and poker school sites, we expect that a lot of beginning players and grinders with limited budget don't know anything about bitcoins and how it works and we will offer them a free way up to become site regulars, allowing us bigger fields in the guaranteed tournaments to attract more depositing players. When these people move in, there will probably be no overlay anymore and we can then adjust the guaranteed prize pool upwards again.

I'll keep you updated

great news! keep the good times rollin'

now a technical question: i am not familiar with some of your special flavours of sng:

what are the rules [or where can i read it, to save your time explaining] about:

top pair / overpair / two pair / trips / set / straigt / quads / straight flush sng's?

i love sng, but how does this works? whoever hits the said combo first, wins? what if they blind out, etc.?

Hi Jack!
We had to come up with names for the Sit and Go's, so they are easily recognizable for the players. On most sites, they are given names of cities or whatsoever. We decided to give them names of hand ranks, with lowest buyin being just top pair and highest straight flush. There is nothing extra to it Smiley

Our installer has now been signed by Perpetuum Software Ltd which is a daughter company of Enterra, our software developpers. Now antivirus programs and windows stops warning people about SatoshiPoker potentially being unsafe.

thanks, Satoshi Poker is awesome - everybody's invited!

i have made a few buddies with the regular crew, and games are held in a friendly manner;

i wish more people would come soon, to make new friends, have more powerful adwersaries and to up my game&bankroll;

dear admin, do you plan to expand the challenge steps beyond "Step 3"? like, buy-ins 20+s5 and wins s100 or something...

anyhow, i am happy to be part of this and hope to see each and everyone of you and the newcomers @ Satoshi tables soon!

p.s. "rags 2 riches" challenge is going steady for me, and i am building some roll, thanks for the nice advice, admin! bless you!

More players will follow soon. I am about to wrap up a thread on twoplustwo and some other forums. The grindabit deal has done very well for us. We hope to expand on that Smiley

New Desktop Client Update 7/18/2013

1. Tournament table issue fixed: Users were registering to tournaments, and the game table was not showing up automatically causing users to miss games. This now works as it should with all the tables in queue showing up automatically.

2. Unsigned application warning fixed: When installing the application users were receiving "warning" messages from Windows about our application being untrustworthy and lacking a CSC (Code Signing Certificate) for .exe applications. We now have a certificate and the warnings should now be fixed.

3. Auto update fixed: The client is now updating automatically. This feature now works again.

Please upgrade to the new client at the link below to benefit from these important fixes.

There are many more exciting changes to come so please stay tuned!

any plans to make it so I can play in tourneys on my ipod touch?  It says it does not support that table size.  thanks
We just got news from our development team. They were unable to fix this now and need at least one more week to tackle all screen issues for the HTML5. Also the messed up 10max tables will be solved so we hope to go out of beta with that update.

I will keep you up to date...

Anouncing swap of 20K Grindabit Guaranteed and Nightly 25K Guaranteed

Some members from the Grindabit community requested that their 20K guaranteed tourney will be held at 9PM instead of 10PM. To facilitate this we have moved the tournament to meet their wishes. As we don't want to host 2 prime tournaments at the same time, we have moved the Nightly 25K Guaranteed to 10PM.

Hi All,

just wanted to ask if anyone has been able to successfully withdraw money from Satoshi Poker?

Everytime I try to cash out and enter my bitcoin address in the browser window that opens when choosing "Cash out" in the "Cashier" dialog, I get the error message "Invalid bitcoin address."

Any ideas?

Thanks & Best regards,
wispli

Yes, and then not allowing players to withdraw? Look at your twoplustwo thread. First learn how to service players, then learn to not scam people out of their roll, and then you might be taken serious when you're posting in a topic which is not PD related.

BitcoinFlush has a service thread for satoshipoker.org under Economy/MarketPlace/Gambling.  His posts end with a tag line
Quote
0.4 BTC Freerolls - 10 BTC Jackpot - Lowest rake in the industry

In raked poker, the rake percent doesnt tell the whole story about the house take.  When questioned in his thread about it, BitcoinFlush said:

Quote
We charge 2% of rake, but we don't have any cap on the rake.

That is not a low rake!  A 2% fee of the total pot will turn out to be a much higher effective rate than most of their competitors charge.

I have played their freerolls and like the site.  I have withdrew funds from the site and it was executed promptly.  I want this site to succeed and I want to play there.   But, I will not  play cash games with such a high take, and I have made a living playing them for 12 years.

If feel they have earned my constructive input.  I was only trying to help when I brought the subject up with an observer in one of their freeroll tournaments called "admin."  I asked him if he was BitcoinFlush on bitcointalk.  He said that BitcoinFlush is just an employee of the company.  But in the referenced thread there is a flame war going on with mem.  And it appears that BitcoinFlush is either the owner operator or acting directly on the owner's behalf.  "admin" would not address my concerns about the cash game rake in the chat box.

They can do whatever they want with the rake.  Most others will pass up the cash games along with me if they don't cap the rake.  There, I've done my part to help you.

Now, if you only play in heads up or short-handed games this is not an issue at 2%.  It is just in the big multi-way pots, the kind I like, where this is a concern.  And it gets to be a bigger problem as the rake percentage goes up.

Thanks a lot for the constructive input! I remember this conversation vaguely and didn't see this thread. I never hide that I am admin and owner of Satoshi Poker and definately never said that he is an employee. Most of our players know that the site is run by 3 parners only. I guess we must have had a miscommunication somehow. We did get a lot of requests from players to cap the rake, and as we usually implement the wishes of our players, we have capped it at 350 chips (1btc = 10000 chips).

Well, if nothing else, you [and Dominicano] have built up my e-wallet. Grin Grin Grin
I'm more of a draw and stud guy than a holdem guy... aorn, I'm getting more
than my RDA of daily shoving/trapping/pokering.

Keep doin' what you're doin', it's turned out g00t. Grin
But ima wait a few months until fall/winter, b4 hunkering down into all of these huge turnys, K?
we are a little short of stud games at the moment. If you'd know some other stud players we could host some tourneys Smiley

And we got small tourneys too Wink

Dear players,

from 1AM EST till 4AM EST we will be performing an update to our software to get rid of the last bugs and finally get our HTML5 going. Please dont buyin to any tournaments during this period. Any buyins will be reimbursed when we shut down.

296  Economy / Gambling / Re: SatoshiPoker ♣ Freerolls ♣ Guarantees ♣ Low Rake ♣ 20% rakeback ♣ Affiliates on: July 17, 2013, 05:38:37 AM
is it possible to take steps (eg lottery tickets every day with a buy in of 500 coins? every 10th participant + ticket?) to super sunday 50k? Or something like that at your discretion!

P.S. and even better would be if the buy in of 100 coins with the possibility of re-buys, strangely sure that no steps with rebuys until the larger tournaments!

We added 3 sit and go sattelites to our Sit and Go schedules, for entry into the Super Sunday 50K Guaranteed tournament. These are the tournaments:

1. Heads up
Easy. Pay half the ticket, defeat your opponent and qualify for the 50K. Buyin: 2500+250

2. 6-max Double or Nothing sattelite
Same as above, buyin 2500+250. Top half gets a ticket.

3. 10-max sattelite
For 1100 buyin, having the top 2 qualify for a ticket.

We will look at a structure for a sattelite on sunday, with a lower buyin, but we have to see what is doable with the current traffic...

too bad you decided to save on hourly s100 freerolls,
that was the small pocket change to invest into my learning poker;

now you will have to stay and tend your "pros"...

On second thought, if you want to learn poker, you have to build experience, even more than just bankroll only.
So specially for you I added this to our shedule:

Every 30 minutes we have a "Rags 2 Riches Step 1 - 10 Chip Turbo Freeroll, paying the top 2 players each 5 chips.
Every whole hour we have the "Rags 2 Riches Step 2 - 25 Guaranteed" with a total buyin of 5 chips.

With proper BR management you should be able to grow a stable roll, move up to the 11 22 and 55 tourneys untill u can get to the 500 Gtd's, with a buyin of s110. This is my challenge to you.

Tournaments will show up within max 2 hours.

Good luck!

i thought about this for over a day, but still want to say it: "bring back the hourly s100"

all you have done is cut your daily expenses on freerolls 4x, but it might also bite you in the backside, i bet...

we have changed the freerolls, we have one every 3 hour, a nightly 500 freeroll and on sunday a 1000 freeroll.
the hourly has been s110 but was now s55 with 500 gtd prize pool. As this overlayed every time we sat down and changed our tournament structure. We still have 500 Gtds, multiple per day and they have the s110 buyin you requested...
299  Economy / Gambling / Re: SatoshiPoker ♣ Freerolls ♣ Guarantees ♣ Low Rake ♣ 20% rakeback ♣ Affiliates on: July 16, 2013, 01:19:33 PM
Usually and reasonably the frequence of smaller buy-in GTDs should be higher than bigger one  Huh
BitcoinFlush, you should try to ask pokerscout.com for including your site traffic in their main page. They will usually do it free of charge. They can also  put an ad link to your site for a fee in that page as well. (pokerscout is the main traffic monitoring site of online poker, very important)
You can also ask pokerfuse.com (the main poker news website) to run an interview with you about your site, its potentials, visions and promises and whatever that makes it unique.. (though the interview material and context you should prepare with the help of an expert carefully)
Was waiting for your pm all yesterday evening, but seems you prefer things the other way, that's okay.
As always I wish great success and bright future for satoshipoker to come.

We had backend issues causing a great amount of tournaments not to start, and yes, the number of lower buyin GTD's is higher than the bigger buyin gtd's. We are already busy developping an XML feed for Pokerscout and I expect us to show up there real quick. I like the pokerfuce.com idea, i will contact them to see what is possible. I didn't mean to be rude by not sending you a PM. Had been overloaded with malfunctioning backend and because of that it slipped my mind. Have sent you a PM now. Thanks for the blessings at the end Smiley

made a complete ass, now even guarantee 500 runs every 15 hours, and it is not clear to whom the warranty 2.5k and 5k for two or three people?

we had some backend issues causing tournaments not to start, you should find plenty of games troughout the day now Smiley
