NoirShares Users always get a share in anything i do. Expansion of thought Experiment AntimatterThis is an expansion of one of my older ideas into reality using the skills gained while putting together NRS 2.0 and Project X

It didnīt work with antimatter and now you are just trying it again or what is the difference?
Antimatter was the concept and needed refinement, also i had not learned the skills required to actually carry it out properly. You'll see that it started as a clone of a thought experiment.

Giving up private keys for multiple coins to one untrusted source? Do you even understand what i said? Noone except you knows your private key, you are not giving them up to anyone.

Is the percentage share divided evenly between each participating coin, or does is each coin's cap also factored in? I'm interested to know how you calculate the relative worth of holding a particular crypto that participates.
BTC will represent 1 unit of the currency, that means ~13 million units allocated already. ALts are generally valued against BTS so we'll use their market prices and money supply. Say there are 3 Million NoirShares , each at 0.00005 BTC, that means that NRS will account for 150 units in XUC Using this metric we can allocate for all existing coins based on market rates. Please note this is existing coins, not the total coins that will exist in the chain. Also (maybe) to encourage alt users, we may reduce the portion that goes to BTC.

Project XUC ============================ What Is Project XUC? ---------------------------- Project X Union Currency is meant to bring as many crypto users as possible under one banner. It stands as a refinement to the Antimatter initiative i started long back here:- https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=223454.0 as a clone of the thought experiment Abstract Coin. Some of the ideas are discussed here :- https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=247585.0 On it's functions. The inital implementation was nevercarried out as i lacked the necessary skills to execute the project. The idea was to bring the holders of coins into a single coin, that has been refined to the following 1) Coin must be traded 2) Coin must have a huge following 3) Coin dev/community must agree How will it be done? ----------------------- The proposed implementation is to parse the blockchains of selected participating coins and create a snapshot of the balances. Then relative to their price at date of snapshot each blockchains allocation will be calculated and entered into the genesis block of XUC. So one maintains the value of their coins relative to other participating currencies, but gains the benefit of having huge user base and wide spread initial dispersal. When will XUC be launched? ---------------------------------- Tentative Expected Launch date is 15/10/14, this allows for time to select participating coins, get accurate snapshots and acquire realistic price snapshots. Why XUC? -------------------------- XUC is chance to bring together as many current crypto users into one unified coin with immense benefits from user and developer interest. Overall, as some coins have had stalled development due to technical constraints or developers abandoning them , it offers holders of those coins a chance to move under a new banner while maintaining their relative stake in the crypto sphere. XUC also offers a rough method of combining ones entire crypto holding into one single wallet allowing greter simple personal control of your finances in a single application. XUC uses a crowdfunding platform adapted from MMC 2.0 to ensure that developers are always on call and any under performing ones get fired. This means that instead of developers abandoning projects, they will be lining up and competing for the job. This will encourage innovation and dedication to the currency. How to get your Coins -------------------------- There will be no IPO or ICO, the community has already done all of that in advance by participating in any of the selected currencies. When the Wallet is made public simply go into your wallet of any and all of the selected currencies and HELP--> DEBUG WINDOW --> CONSOLE type dumpprivkey "insertyouraddresshere" and copy the result. Then in the XUC wallet HELP--> DEBUG WINDOW --> CONSOLE type importprivkey "yourprivatekeyhere", Your balance should show up immediately. How to Help -------------------------- I need help identifying any and all possible coins that can be added to XUC to ensure that as many people as possible can have a stake. If the coin is dying then i may need a copy of the blockchain data. Why Help and why participate? -------------------------- A lot of coins depend of the cost of mining to prop them up or have a lot of money thrown at them, this coins value will be based off community acceptance and how each individual values their share. Does this affect my holdings in the participating coins? ----------------------------------------------------------- No, your coins remain yours in all the currencies, you just have a stake in a "commons" currency that you can do with as you wish. XUC Specifications --------------------------- **Coin Generation**:50% of total Money supply is allocated in the genesis block 1% is allocated to me personally. (Premine)49% is allocated via PoW **Proof of Work Algorithm**: CPU Only Memory hard Algorithm **Total Number of Coins**: 21 million **PoW Block Reward**: 20 coins per block (standard reward) with random multipliers. Block XXXXX:- reward is 999 tokens (this will be expected Launchdate) **PoW Target Blocktime**: 3 minutes **Time to Maturity**: 150 Confirmations List of selected coins( will be updated as more will be added)

Hi all temp fix( until i get my vps running) Windows Wallet for source use the branch franken-code-lotto-voting, use master. For now, i have decided that lets use the system as it stands. I will use this time to work on the GUI and will push all the changes mid-week , effectively pushing us into the beta phase. By next weekend we will be in production. I deleted a comment that asked why i was stepping down, i would like to address that. I am not stepping down from the group, simply i will step down from controlling NRS, if i leave it in someone else's hands i can begin working on Project X full time. If i have to keep jumping between tasks, thn we'll end up with another long wait. And to answer the next obvious question, yes the NRS and NRB snapshots will be used in Project X, and yes, GF members will have the lion's share in this one. Full specs will be released once we are in production phase of NRS 2.0

The issue is mainly just that the seednodes were offline, i am setting this up now, sorry for the delay.
edit:- no joy.
my vps provider has really screwed this up.
So, instead, i am uploading a version that allows connections from previous clients. please note that this is a temporary situation until i either get new vps provider or the current one gets their services in order.

"error loading blkindex.dat" when i try to run the new wallet..
1) Check if shares.txt and shares2.txt are in the folder. 2) Did you delete old NRS chain data? Back up wallet and delete old data 3) Is it first run? if so try a second time. 4) Post debug log is all the above are in order. 5) Please use github to report issues.

Wait for it guys, don't panic.
It's all getting sorted soon.

We need to see more nodes. Anyone have a node list for Protocol version 60009 (v0.2.2.1-alpha)?
i am working on a possible solution, just give me an hour.
|
|
|
PLS LET'S FOCUS ON THE SERIOUS THINGS.... WALLET v.0.2.2.1 WONT SYNC....
The issue is simply that some users have not updated the the new wallet, i am using remote access to fix the issue but it's taking time, give me an hour to come up with a solution.

Usually, it is best to try something out before trying to poke holes in it or to outright dismiss it, it's a bit narrow minded. And "simple" usually has better results with regard to software in comparison with complicated solutions.
I take voting seriously, if you call that narrow minded, well... If you implement a voting system, that has to be based on trust. I just show you what you have to be ahead of if you do not think in advance about how you want to implement that. You can take my advice or leave it. The problem is that I ask for a technical explanation, and you are only throwing in about 3 lines that do not explain anything. So if I call that simplistic it is because you are not trying to explain. did you read this part I'm mobile so i cant say too much, but let me correct you.

I am sorry to be negative, but that system cannot work. It is very simplistic and fraud will be imminent. 1. I can send multiple tokens (coins?) to my own address, each is one vote, so then I will pay for my own votes and get chosen. 2. A website cannot replace the blockchain, in fact has nothing to do with the blockchain other than that you can represent information from the blockchain on it 3. People can vote multiple times for the same person 4. How do I know who voted? In the GF I guess that other GF holders vote, but not other people, how to prevent that?
I'd imagine sending the token transaction indicates that the sending address votes for the receiving address with its remaining stake, so Sybil attacks nor voting for multiple people are not possible. I could be wrong. Edit: Or just slow. increasing the vote size from 0.001 to 0.1 still conts as a single vote, and multiple votes using the send many function are treated as one vote. most would try to have a script that creates new addresses and sens sya 1 coin to the address then vote with those addresses, this was encountered in the first implementation and was countered by considering what % of the chain is held by voting addresses, this means that even a thousand micro votes will not unbalance the scale since votes from actual holders will counter the effect, essentially, that person will just be losing themselves a ton of coin. One issue i am aware of is a 51% attack, where in reality if a single person holds more voting power than the rest of the voters then can easily manipulate the system, however , based off information from the snapshot, this is not likely, and any person willing to buy up the required coin to do this would meet the same constraints as trying to 51% PoS.

3) Begin your campaign, and entice investors and users to vote for you by proving that you are a capable and viable candidate
How will the actual voting go in that way? I generated the address, have found people that want to vote for me, and then? For now, you have to be voted in manually. To Votesend your candidate a small token maybe 0.001 NRs to signify your support, the more votes that person gets, the higher the chances they will succeed. Once we get a web dev, we'll get the website updated. As for syncing, our servers at centarra are not useable at the moment, i am considering options. I'm mobile so i cant say too much, but let me correct you. So user A votes themselves multiple times. the question becomes what % does this user control of the total money supply? If user A votes for himself and controls 10% of the money supply, but other users B-Z vote for user a1 while they control 10% as well, then user a1 gets elected. The website is not meant to replace the block chain, it is meant to provide voting instructions in a clearer manner than these posts on the forum. You did ask how it works right? We also use the website to show information of which candidates address has how many votes and who currently occupies the office. Later on, this will likely be worked into the client, but for now, you will be referred to a website to get the stats. Does it matter that a person has voted multiple times? In this case it does not because we do not only count votes, we also consider what weight of the chain is controlled by the voters. a 0.001 vote from an address holding 0.1 coins is worth much less than a 0.001 vote from an address with 10 NRS. We can always have a print out of who voted, and votes in NRS are for the community, not just GF, the GF has exclusive voting rights in NG but not in the DACs themselves. that system cannot work. It is very simplistic Usually, it is best to try something out before trying to poke holes in it or to outright dismiss it, it's a bit narrow minded. And "simple" usually has better results with regard to software in comparison with complicated solutions. I'm not saying there aren't flaws, there are obviously issues with every system, but lets try to use the boat, not put cannon balls through the hull.

3) Begin your campaign, and entice investors and users to vote for you by proving that you are a capable and viable candidate
How will the actual voting go in that way? I generated the address, have found people that want to vote for me, and then? for which position?? I look at evening I meant hypothetical. I don't think anyone would vote for me now But if I would want to, how do I get the votes? Do people just pay some NRS in that address or will there be "yes" or "no" coins? And how will we know I do not vote for myself? I am interested in a more technical explanation of the underlying technology (maybe a whitepaper?) These will likely be done on the website. We really need it updated
