281  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin sent to wrong address on: April 26, 2018, 12:05:03 AM
Don't be in rush when making transactions always cross check before clicking the send button, a mistake made when making transactions may not be possible revised especially when it already on blockchain.
If you have not gotten your BTC by now,  there is 90% possibility that you must have provided the wrong wallet address while making the transaction. Check the wallet address you have in your dashboard if it same as the one you provide.

It is always advisable to learn from other peoples mistake.
282  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What is the difference between PoW and PoS ? on: April 25, 2018, 11:52:53 PM
In a simple terms, the difference between POW & POS is the mining cumputing power.
POW uses a higher computing power than POS,  and it also consumes more electrical power than POS.
To mine coins with POW you need to mining equipments, where as, to mine with POS all you need is a unit of some coin in your wallet, and have your wallet running for a period of time, as the wallet is running it automatically generate new coins for you.
283  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: 20 mnemonic words blockchain on: April 25, 2018, 11:39:57 PM
Ok, but now when I try this site https://iancoleman.io/bip39/.
He does not recognize my mnemonic words and offers an alternative to fix everyone.
Also in the list (Create a random mnemonics, or enter your own below Smiley I do not find - 20 words. only 15,18,21,24
the old 20 words mnemonics bc.info won't work on iancoleman.io/bip39
you should've written down the new 12 word recovery phrase
if you still have old wallet backup saved in your email, maybe you can decode the file manually
you can somehow use old password on your old wallet backup to reveal private keys of your addresses

The access to the email is also lost( there are other options?
what do you mean by you lost access to the email address you used?
If the email is linked to any of your other email address or any of your mobile number you can still gain  access to the email by doing a password recovery and follow the instructions. If you can get access to the you used to can get back to you bc.info account
284  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Legality of sending cryptocurrency as payment for completing online surveys? on: April 25, 2018, 11:27:34 PM

I was thinking about setting up a website that would ask people to anonymously fill out online marketing surveys and would reimburse them with a small amount of Litecoin for their time. They would just need to provide a public wallet address to receive the payment. It would be similar to PineconeResearch where users receive $3 for filling out a 10 minute survey, but w/ cryptocurrency instead of Paypal or Virtual Visa Debit cards.

If the servers are based in California and the website is sending money to anyone in the world, would this run into any money transmitter license issues with US Fincen or CA state laws?

As far as I understand, you're only considered a money transmitter if you're selling money. Businesses that take payment in cryptocurrency don't need a money transmitter license, and I'm assuming that businesses that are remitting payments in cryptocurrency don't need one either... or is it more complicated than that?
I see this as a faucet but with a different running,  method. I don't think you need any license or permission from any party to run this project.
Just consider it as a faucet

288  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Struggling to Reach Over 9K on: April 23, 2018, 04:10:34 PM
https://www.coindesk.com/bitcoin-struggles-above-9k-as-bull-breakout-stalls/

It seems as though the bull market everyone is hoping for and expecting is on pause at the moment. BTC has hit a point where every time it touches 9k, many sell orders go through and push it back down just below this mark. There will be a time when buys will overtake these momentary road blocks. Until then its just a waiting game.

Good Luck Traders,
The Elysian Team
Funny market... BTC price is  just dancing between 8.8k+ to 8.9k it doesn't want to go over 9k, but it definitely will.
289  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Liquidating crypto to fiat - suggestions ? on: April 20, 2018, 07:33:05 PM
What's the best way to liquidate your crypto to fiat? Every option i'm looking at you either have to wait for weeks or its expensive. Am I missing something?
It depends on your region/country, but I will recommend  you try localbitcoin. That's if you are looking for a means to cash out in fiat. I use this platform whenever I cashing out in fiat.
290  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ICO investment or Altcoin investment? on: April 20, 2018, 06:52:00 PM
Where is it better to invest our money? In famous coins or in ICOs projects?

99% of ICOs project are scams. They rip you off your money. It better you put your money on a famous altcoins than putting it in a shit ICO project that promise heaven and earth on their whitepapper and never delivered  20% of promises.

293  Economy / Speculation / Re: where is the bitcoin price going? on: April 20, 2018, 12:42:17 PM
The price of bitcoin has rallied at the beginning of April after suffering significant losses in March, as positive news in the cryptocurrency space has encouraged investors.

The volatile cryptocurrency’s value has shifted wildly ever since mid-December - when it hit a record high of more than $19,850 (£14,214) - with frequent heavy drops and speedy recoveries. Its price plummet back to earth in January and February, as governments and central banks around the world raised the spectre of future regulation.

Bitcoin’s value plummeted again shortly before Christmas, dropping by almost $2,000 (£1,449) in just an hour at one point, and almost slipping below the $11,000 mark (£7,970).

It then bounced back, before tumbling again in mid-January, recovering again, and plummeting at the start of February before levelling out for the rest of the month.

March saw bitcoin's price drop below $10,000, reaching a low of $6,500 before rebounding above $7,000.

And now, where is the bitcoin price going next?
As we all understand that the crypto market is unpredictable and volatile it will be wrong for one to actually say how the market will be in coming days, prediction is simply based on speculations. let keep optimism high why we try and manage the way we speculate about the strength of the market.
I personally hope to see bitcoin reach $9000 before the end of this month.
294  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Selling on Localbitcoins vs an Exchange on: April 19, 2018, 10:26:09 PM
Hey Everyone,

So I am relatively new to bitcoin and cryptocurrency in general, and I wanted to get a couple expert takes on liquidating bitcoin. Right now, I have a few thousand dollars worth of bitcoin and I was thinking of using Localbitcoins instead of a trading exchange like GDAX. A lot of the research I did points to it being a safe service, and without any fees. It seems great for the amount of volume I am working with now.

But how about larger volumes? Does it scale well? Should I sell, let's say around $50,000 worth of bitcoin, would you recommend using an exchange like GDAX instead?

Basically, my main concerns are getting the best exchange rate possible, as well as having the lowest fees. Speed is a concern as well, but it takes a back seat to getting the most value when selling.
you can consider spliting your BTC bit by bit, instead selling everything at once, am a fan of localbitcoin, I trade there almost every day. To get a buyer that will buy such amount of BTC at a spot Will take you sometime and the person will have to be a professional trader.

But it will be more quicker to sell if you split it like $10,000 $10,000
295  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: how to earn Bitcoin without investing?? on: April 19, 2018, 11:44:27 AM
Wow, great question...it's also commonly confused by newbies. We can help you!

Bitcoin is just money. So you can earn Bitcoin by doing anything it is you can do to earn money. You just need to ask your employer or customers to pay you Bitcoin or use whatever currency they pay you in to buy Bitcoin.

I think your real question should be "how can I earn more money [so I can buy more Bitcoin]?"

By the way, if you own Bitcoin you're investing in Bitcoin. It sounds like you're not ready to own any Bitcoin...clearly you don't believe it's worthy of investment.
Nice piece of advice, honestly this is the best way to make bitcoin world acceptable currency and also the best to make new comers earn and join the bitcoin raise.
But the question is, what if the employer dont have any clue on how to use or buy bitcoin and the person that is requesting for payment in bitcoin dont also know how or where to buy bitcoin, how do we handle such issues?
Google search is there, which i quite understand, but we all know that learn about crypto is somehow intimidating without proper guard-line.
296  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: how can i exchange my tokens? on: April 19, 2018, 11:13:23 AM
How can i exchange tokens from my wallet? I have tokens there and some have prices but i don't know where i can transfer it to another wallet in exchange of bitcoin to peso.
if you are referring to myetherwallet, to transfer/withdraw fund you need to first have gas, without gas on your wallet you cant withdraw fund. to get gas, transfer ETH to your MYETHERWALLET. after you have succefully done this; Goto www.coinmarket.com.

On coinmarket you can search for the coins have on your wallet by using the search button.
to see the exchange they are listed on, clicking market

Try and get some knowdge about any particular exchange you stumble on before proceding so you dont loss your funds

297  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Ledger Nano S has been lost! on: April 18, 2018, 11:00:06 PM
In as much as you have your pasphrase, Retrieving your funds won't be a problem. All you have to do is get another ledger, input your 24 phrase and you will get you fund back .

Please don't save your phrase on your computer, phrase should be saved offline
298  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why are bitcoin transaction prices so expensive? on: April 18, 2018, 05:56:09 PM
Fees are high due to inefficient use of the available block space. Fees are priced in BTC, using sat/byte not USD. The larger the transaction (in bytes) the higher the fee. This also means when the price of bitcoin rose 20x, fees rise at the same rate.

in other words, Miners don't set the fees, the sender does and they're used in addition to the block reward to incentivize miners. There is a limitation to the number of transactions per second based on the block size, so when the network gets overly congested (e.g higher adoption rates) you inevitably end up having to pay higher fees if you want your transaction to be included. The reason being that there are so many transactions waiting to be approved and miners will always prioritize those that have the highest fees.

299  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who is Satoshi Nakamoto? on: April 18, 2018, 05:48:16 PM
The best known Nakamoto-suspect is Australian computer scientist and businessman Craig Wright.

But unlike the other leading contenders, Wright actually claims he is Nakamoto and in 2016 provided technical "proof" to the BBC, The Economist and GQ.

This consisted of a demonstration of the verification process used in the very first Bitcoin transaction.

But The Economist claims "such demonstrations can be stage-managed” and reported Wright refused to make the proof public and to provide other assurances.

He then posted an apology on his blog stating that he no longer had the “courage” to continue the process of proving his identity.

Wright subsequently appeared in Netflix documentary Banking on Bitcoin and once again claimed to be Satoshi Nakamoto in what he said would be his final filmed interview.

Following the Wright speculation the Bitcoin Core Project – an open source project which “releases Bitcoin client software” – tweeted their own skepticism around the issue in May 2016.

The project posted: “There is currently no publicly available cryptographic proof that anyone, in particular, is Bitcoin's creator.”
