281  Economy / Long-term offers / Re: ♔ RUSTYRYAN's 3.0% Weekly Term Deposits ♔ on: October 05, 2012, 11:26:38 PM
A quick message to Ryan's family and possibly a visit to his house should be enough to verify whether any such break-in occured.

Hahaha. "Yes, hello, your family member Ryan stole some of my internet monopoly money."

Man, I would laugh at you on the phone, if you turned up at my house I would laugh in your face, and the police would laugh at you, but they wouldn't laugh at me when I reported you for intimidation and harassing my family.

When will you people learn that Bitcoins can be stolen with complete impunity? No government in the world recognizes them as a currency, a commodity, or a financial instrument of any kind. Why on earth do you expect a government law enforcement agency to step in when you are dumb enough to be scammed out of your coins?

Here's an easy answer: stop giving them to people who you don't know or trust because they offer to borrow from you at an insanely large interest rate. You'd think that would be common sense even for real, government issued money with legal recourse, let alone fucking Bitcoin which is anonymous and has no legal standing.

Stealing Bitcoin isn't a crime. You wanted a currency that exists outside of governmental systems, and now you've got one. Stop crying to the police when people steal them from you. It's YOUR responsibility to protect your coins. If you are too fucking stupid to do that, and you can't help yourself from just handing them to anyone who asks, then you shouldn't be involved in Bitcoin in the first place.

To everyone who lost coins in various Ponzi schemes: I am glad you had your money taken from you. You would only have spent it unwisely. I hope that you have been left at such a severe financial disadvantage that you are unable to look after your children and they are taken from you by the state so they can be looked after by people with better critical faculties than your own. If you don't yet have children, I hope that the financial loss leaves you stinking and in rags so you are unable to reproduce. Your genes should not be passed on to humanity.
282  Economy / Long-term offers / Re: [CLOSED] ★ VESCUDERO's Risk-free Weekly Term deposits at 1.5% ★ on: October 05, 2012, 03:13:58 PM
You forgot a few things: first of all, the interests were not compounding, so this is not 1.5% weekly => 117% yearly, but 1.5% weekly => 78%

Wow, you're right. That's much more reasonable. It must be totally above board with that kind of rate.

Maybe I'm gullible

Um gee, ya think?
283  Economy / Long-term offers / Re: Dank Bank Deposits - dank soul guarantee - 1.2%-2.0% weekly on: October 05, 2012, 02:45:33 PM
So you're going to organise a music festival for over half a million people by the end of the year?  Bwahahaha.

Dank got high and watched Wayne's World 2 last night.

Is there any particular reason you are choosing to keep the story he told you about the supposed nature of his business to yourself?
The reason is that I am a patient man.  If I don't hear anything substantial from him between the 12th (his "earliest pay out date") and the end of the month I will post it all for you so let's say November 1.

Cool. I look forward to reading it.

I'm an advertising creative.

Since you're one of the relatively few people that's had a chance to speak to trendon, what do you make of the idea that he was passing money to Zeek? Given that he shut down the same day that Zeek did, and their payouts would have given him about 10.5% per week.

Again there are two possibilities and only time will tell which one is true:

1) What he told me about his business was true, in which case it was not a Zeek pass through.

2) What he told me was a lie, in which case it could very well have been a pass through.

There are things that make me hope/believe that his business was legit.

However, one thing that worries me was a brief posting somewhere in all the various threads (I don't know where anymore) that someone found a reference to Zeek on his wife's web site.  If that is true (I did not see it myself) then that does support the possibility that the business either was always a pass through or may have started out legit and then (d)evolved into more and more of a pass through as he took on more and more debt and may not have been able to find customers for his business.

If anyone has proof that there was a Zeek reference on his wife's web page please point it out if you get a chance.

I saw the Zeek reference, it was on his wife's twitter page. She posted a link to a Zeek related website. Like yourself I have lost it in the maze of threads. It was just a link, nothing explicitly about her involvement, so it could just be circumstantial.

Is there any particular reason you are choosing to keep the story he told you about the supposed nature of his business to yourself?

Your the kid no one wants around but you need to hang with because his parents called your parents aren't you?

What are you, a fucking idiot? Maybe if you had listened to this guy you wouldn't have lost so much money in ponzi schemes.

@Burtw: Do you actually communicate with people with that many years of inbreeding? You're a bigger man then I Wink

Haha you gave money to Hashking. How is that working out for you?

How many others did you get scammed by wisely invest in, oh Captain of Industry?
289  Economy / Long-term offers / Re: ★ VESCUDERO's Risk-free Weekly Term deposits at 1.5% ★ [Recently closed] on: October 04, 2012, 09:47:30 PM

I did a back-of-the-napkin calculation that he spent 898.320 BTC on interest. That's actually on overestimate as I assumed a uniform 2% throughout (did not account for the change to 1.5%), among other things.

If you take that as being about USD $9,000 (again, rough calculation), to put things in more familiar terms, you can ask: is that really a big deal?

For most people, it's a big deal. But if you are a wealthy person who has money to put into bitcoin, maybe not.

He did claim to put money into loans and other projects. So that could offset some of the cost, perhaps.

In that vein, if vescudero expected a fall in bitcoin price, he could have been pursuing the following strategy:
Step 1: Borrow lots of bitcoin
Step 2: Sell it for fiat
Step 3: Bitcoin price crashes
Step 4: But back bitcoin to pay back depositors
Step 5: Profit

If the strategy works, you make big money. If the strategy fails, you only lose a fraction of what you stood to gain, i.e. (in this case) around $9,000.

Just some random, hopefully interesting thoughts.

If people want to continue accusing vescudero of scamming, it would be interesting to look at the list of depositors and see how many no established reputation, small post counts, and/or login patterns that support being socks. (I suspect you will find this data to *not* substantiate scamming accusations, but I don't know for certain. For the record, he currently has a well-deserved positive rating from me on bitcoin-otc.)

That is an interesting thought and an interesting gamble. He could well have been doing that. Equally he could have bought the trust of the community for the low price of $9k in order to abscond with a much larger sum later on. I am not calling him a scammer by any means, it's clear to see that he hasn't scammed anyone with this scheme.  I am just saying that running a very high interest deposit scheme like this is suspicious as hell, and the fact that he paid everyone back at the end doesn't make it suddenly beyond suspicion.
290  Economy / Long-term offers / Re: Dank Bank Deposits - dank soul guarantee - 1.2%-2.0% weekly on: October 04, 2012, 07:23:00 PM
I believe if I work hard and focus my energy on guitar, I will reach my dreams.

Well that is reasonable.

Perhaps, it sounds a little cocky to say I will be X good in X months, but my lifetime of sensing/feeling the future is what gives me the confidence to say that.  Whatever you believe is true, after all, we create our reality in the mind.

That isn't reasonable.

As senbon mentioned, time is going faster, exponentially, as more change happens in less time, everyday.

No, it doesn't.

This year has felt like several lifetimes, to me, due to the amount of what I experienced.  Those that adjust their frequency to change with the universe will be impacted by the change.  All it takes is love.

What?

2012 is real, it's not the end of the world, in a destructive manner, it's the end of our illusion of a world.

No, it isn't.

Senbon sent me this video, while it's not where I learned what I know, I feel like it does a good job describing the oncoming changes and validity of spiritualism through scientific means.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dVUU3p5iHMA

What?

I think you must be a fictional character created by an anti-drug campaign.
291  Economy / Long-term offers / Re: Hashkings Lending,Deposit 1.25% INSURED, ALL PPT ACCOUNTS CLOSING ON 8/19 on: October 04, 2012, 05:41:39 PM
What he explained was not based on "an unverifiable arbitrage opportunity".

Very interesting. I've never heard any explanation of Pirate's business that didn't hinge upon arbitrage. (Other than, of course, the speculation that he was merely a pass through to Zeek Rewards.) Would you be so kind as to pass on the information he gave you, or perhaps link to where you may have divulged it elsewhere?
292  Economy / Long-term offers / Re: Dank Bank Deposits - dank soul guarantee - 1.2%-2.0% weekly on: October 04, 2012, 05:26:20 PM
My ego's big, why, because I believe in myself?  Do I talk shit to people on the internet?

Thanks for your input though, obviously 6 weeks of practice won't amount to godlike music.  I'm just getting started, remember, I said humans are growing exponentially.  We are still quite far from that steep curve in a couple months.

It's fine and normal to be useless on guitar after only six weeks practice (although in all honesty, if they put in the hours, most people are far better than you by that point). The problem is that you are claiming godlike talent with no godlike music to back it up with, and you are predicting godlike success in a very short timescale. Have you ever heard the phrase "Don't put the cart in front of the horse"?

Self belief is a good quality to have, but you are claiming that you will absolutely, definitely be a "successful musician" by the end of this year. You are absolutely nowhere near!

Self belief is: "If I work hard and focus I will be able to achieve my dreams." It's not: "I will definitely be a rock star in 3 months even though I currently suck balls."

If you were claiming the former then I would be encouraging you now. Honestly man, if you plan for success in a more rational way, with a more realistic timescale, then you have a much better chance of getting where you want to be.

Do I think you will be a successful rock star one day? Hell, I dunno, maybe. But I think it's very unlikely. I have one friend who was signed to Interscope for a while a few years back, and another friend who was on Universal Republic more recently. They both were immeasurably talented, practiced and played live for years and years, they both got exceptionally lucky to be signed to major labels, and they both got dropped eventually after failing to get the kind of mainstream success that the label were hoping for. They are actually brilliant musicians and they got chewed up and spit out by the music industry.

You are a beginner, a beginner who isn't actually taking to it too well, and you think you can succeed where they failed? Ok, I admit, it's possible, eventually, if you put in all the effort that they did and even more, but after just three months? No fucking way. It's not going to happen Dank.
293  Economy / Long-term offers / Re: Hashkings Lending,Deposit 1.25% INSURED, ALL PPT ACCOUNTS CLOSING ON 8/19 on: October 04, 2012, 05:10:56 PM
BTW (as if it matters to you) I did meet with him in person and disussed his non-ponzi explaination of how the whole business worked.  He was either telling the truth and has fucked up the shut down of a legit business OR it was legit business idea that became a Ponzi OR it was a scam from the beginning with a business model that sounded legit to an IDIOT like me.

I'm guessing the latter. Didn't he say that his business model was to do with arbitrage? You know who else claimed huge profits from arbitrage? Charles Ponzi himself.

If Pirate spun you a similar yarn that Ponzi spun his investors, and you believed it blindly, then you are indeed an idiot and you should think about microwaving your balls for the good of mankind.

If he showed you a legitimate business model, that wasn't based on an unverifiable arbitrage opportunity, and you got your accountant to examine his accounts fully and he/she saw no irregularity, then you're not an idiot and Pirate is a truly fine fraudster. However I doubt that was the case.
294  Economy / Long-term offers / Re: Dank Bank Deposits - dank soul guarantee - 1.2%-2.0% weekly on: October 04, 2012, 04:56:46 PM
This is the way I look at it: you can play with your ego, by learning chords, taking lessons, constructing a song, etc.  Or you can play with your soul, play in the moment by feeling the energy.  When you play with your soul, you are basically channeling the universe's energy (god) through you and into music.

When you play, you must be channelling the part of the universe that is a methane swamp on some far away planet, or a Mexico City garbage dump. Your "music" is shit. Perhaps you telling us that it is literally excrement, and you are channelling this shit through your guitar.

You have literally no guitar playing skill or any evidence of talent. Everyone has to start somewhere, but you are so utterly, utterly deluded about your own abilities. Unless you plan to corner a lucrative market in people paying you to be quiet, I think it will take many years of practice before you will ever earn a single cent from your guitar. And that is if you get over your aversion to actually learning how to play.

You cannot play guitar. You will not be a professional musician anytime soon. Anyone can see that. Everyone is telling you that. Why are you so deluded? I think you are either a dumb fuck or you are mentally ill.

If you actually want to make a success out of your life, you need to snap out of these insane, narcissistic delusions of grandeur. Anyone can see that you don't possess even a fraction of the skills, talent and intelligence that you claim. What do you think will happen to you if you carry on the path that you are going, instead of learning actual skills for real? It's funny that you talk about ego in such negative terms when your own ego is so preposterously inflated.

I would like to go on record in this thread at this time for 2 points:

1) I believe this payback to be in preparation for a larger scam in the future

2) I believe some of the posters that replied that they were paid back in full are sock-puppets of Vescudero.  Most of the <100 post count users should be looked at for questionable posting history.  I also believe he actually did pay back some real "investors" too.  It is easy to lie about the size of his payback - did we get any block-chain verification for this?  of course not.

I just wanted this on record with a time stamp that Vescudero is 100% a scammer still.  He is going for a longer scam.

He's definitely doing something

Either some of the transactions are fake, or this guy lost a lot of money for the purposes of building up trust.

I'm sure there are some legitimate reasons for someone to drop a lot of money to build up trust quickly. Maybe his reputation is going to help him do some fantastic, honest, business deals in future.

If you ask me though, there's something fundamentally suspicious about a man who runs a high yield investment program at a loss to himself for the purposes of building trust quickly. It screams "confidence scam"

Of course most people here lack the critical faculties to recognize this.
296  Economy / Long-term offers / Re: Hashkings Lending,Deposit 1.25% INSURED, ALL PPT ACCOUNTS CLOSING ON 8/19 on: October 04, 2012, 02:38:50 PM
I am waiting until the 12th and see what he says and what happens.  At that time I will evaluate all of my options (as will many of us).

I live in Colorado so it is a bit of a truck to get down to Texas - but time will tell.

Weren't you one of Pirates most vocal supporters, defending him to the death against all those false accusations of it being a scam and a ponzi scheme?

Haha, man, I thought you were a sockpuppet or at the very least a paid shill. Now you're saying you lost money? Ahahaha. You must feel like a complete retard now. Do you actually have downs syndrome or what? Classic. Good luck getting your money back on the 12th, you fucking dumbass. Imagine losing money in such an obvious ponzi, spending months defending it, and then getting all your cash stolen like everyone else. Jesus christ, how do you remember to breath?
297  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: UK's first Gold ATM on: July 01, 2011, 07:56:08 PM
97 views and no reply?

Can I assume then that this is actually workable?

I live within a tightly knit community in South East London. I think I could get nearly every shop in the town to accept Bitcoin. I know a good proportion of the shop owners. You'd have to repackage it as "community money" though as this town is one of those socialist hippy arty California type towns.

They tried the community money thing in Brixton a few years ago. It didn't work. I take it you're talking about New Cross. I also take it that you've never been to California, haha.
298  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Making it public: I have moved the disputed 643.2771 BTC into an escrow account on: June 22, 2011, 01:54:48 AM
To be honest I kinda wish Kevin got away with all the coins.

For one thing, it would force Mt. Gox out of business when they had to compensate those who lost coins in the hack which I think most of us can agree is a good thing. Now that Bitcoins are actually worth a good chunk of change, it's preposterous to have the leading exchange be run by an idiot and a liar like MagicalTux.

For another, a very lucky innocent person would have received the windfall instead of a malicious hacker.

It would be a massive win/win.

Kevin: I stand to gain absolutely nothing, but I think you should get your $5m. The only person who should be punished is the person who allowed all this to happen: MagicalTux.
299  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Gavin will visit the CIA on: June 21, 2011, 10:01:41 PM
Lol, a nice amount of patriotism... maybe we should invite Gavin here in Europe  Grin

Do you think that your standard of living is higher in Europe?

Hahah, yes. This isn't the 50s anymore man.
300  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [Reality Check!] Strong Indication MtGox Is Packing Up to Run w/ Money and BTC? on: June 21, 2011, 09:38:50 PM
That would be the most hilarious thing to have happened yet to BTC.

I'm sure it has crossed their mind, but you can't hide long enough from 60000 people with the level of intellect displayed here to spend the kind of money they have stashed.

The level of intellect displayed here?? 90% of the people here are idiots man. OP is a prime example.
