2801  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Best Alt coin to invest in 2014 on: April 14, 2014, 03:22:16 AM
Only thing unique about BC IMO is its multipool. None other causes so much market manipulation :/

Multipool isn't proprietary, either.  Zeitcoin and NEM are at least two coins which intend to run Multipools.

2802  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: When/if will BlackCoin crash? on: April 14, 2014, 03:16:11 AM
It's a pump and dump.  A month and a half ago the pump of the month was Mintcoin and Vertcoin.

There's nothing special about Blackcoin at all and here are the reasons

- Faster Transaction speeds ~ a lot of alternate coins can claim this too
- Proof of Stake.  Old mechanism ~ Peercoin, NxT and other coins have had this for ages
- Bitclone (the client is a reskin of BTC)
- Distribution.  Top 100 wallets own the majority of Blackcoin.
- Novelty merchandise

I know the Bagholders and Whales will say I am a naysayer but there's absolutely nothing here to push Blackcoin into the $100+ million capitalization and let alone to keep it there.

Litecoin was a fluke, in part due to the dumb funds who missed out on BTC and threw money on LTC, and it's not likely to be repeated since those funds have since learned their lesson and realize they sit on worthless LTC coins.
2803  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What makes Bitcoin a revolutionary technology on: April 14, 2014, 03:08:26 AM
I think Gold and Precious metals are worthless in a bugout scenario.   A million dollars in gold weighs 25 KG / 55 Pounds and is difficult to conceal.   Never mind there is all the paper work proving you own some, so criminals or government officials with access to that information will be making a beeline to your residence.

We know from throughout history that refugees who had gold or precious metals on their possession had said valuables taken from them by patrolling militias or scrupulous border guards from other countries.  It's supposedly no different today - there's testimony from Syrian and African refugees that they've been robbed by Middle Eastern and European immigration officials / soldiers / mafia.

It's a choice between being a refugee with nothing more than the clothes on your back versus a refugee with Bitcoin (with the wallet on cloud or somewhere on the internet), I would prefer being the latter.

China has a population over a billion and a normal riot over there makes Occupy Wallstreet look like a picnic.  A lot of people fear revolution (revolution brought chaos in the FSU) or counter-revolution (from the hardliners who hate capitalism), hence why the Chinese have been buying BTC.

Is an alpha test by the end of the month a guarantee?
2805  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [NEM] NEM -New Economy Movement - No Envy Movement - Updates+Discussion thread on: April 14, 2014, 01:22:34 AM
A distribution of this scale has never been done before.  It's hard to say how 3000 stakeholders are going to behave.

I'm inclined to believe it's easier for 1 whale to dump than to convince 300 to do so but we'll see.

2806  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] BlackCoin (BC) | on exchanges | PoS | No premine on: April 14, 2014, 01:05:34 AM
Poor distribution in this coin.  Top 100 wallets (wallets=/=unique people) control the majority.
2807  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Best Alt coin to invest in 2014 on: April 14, 2014, 12:59:40 AM
I  don't think there is anything unique about Blackcoin - it's a Bitclone with PoS (old mechanism) and poor distribution (top 100 wallets control more than 53%.  Wallets =/= unique people) and some rhetorical improvements ("faster than Bitcoin, blah blah")

It's currently the pump and dump.  Looking back 90 days the PnD used to be mintcoin and vertcoin.
2808  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NXT :: descendant of Bitcoin - Updated Information on: April 13, 2014, 10:23:08 PM
NxT to drop below $20 million shortly?  Are the NxT whales jumping to NaS?
2809  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] BlackCoin (BC) | on exchanges | PoS | No premine on: April 13, 2014, 07:57:51 PM

So BlackCoin is the real test to see how viable can a POS coin be with all the right ingredients.

What test?  Proof of Stake has been out for ages and several coins have implemented it (Peercoin, NxT, et cetera).  Proof of Stake is only appealing for people on top of the pyramid.

2810  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] BlackCoin (BC) | on exchanges | PoS | No premine on: April 13, 2014, 07:54:58 PM
Pointing out a legitimate bubble is not FUD.  There's no uncertainty here.  There are clear patterns in the alternate digital community and I provided two good examples.  Each time there's a downturn in digital currencies some random coin is always pump and then left to die.

There's no incentive for subsequent investors to come in and buy BC when it's valued at $10 million as the ROI isn't there anymore.  Meanwhile the Whales, who bought in for pennies when the capitalization was less than $100K, have incentive to convert their BC into BTC or a portfolio of new alternates.

People were saying the same thing when it went up to 4890 sat and then dropped to 2000. They said the same thing when it jumped up to 9380 and settled down to 5000. Then it went back up to 9199 and settled down to 7100.

You're not very good at seeing patterns. Perhaps you shouldn't be investing your money in alt coins.

Ad hominem / straw man are logical fallacies and not valid arguments.  Though I didn't expect any better from a blackcoin bagholder.
By the way - it's only my third post on this thread and they were all posted minutes ago, so you're mistaking me with other people.

All I have to do is look at screenshots of Blackcoin and it's a Bitclone with PoS and a few vendors selling novelty merchandise *yawn* - I know a pump and dump when I see one.

Of course I'm not an investor - I like to be involved with innovative coins and help them grow.  All I have to type is "Blackcoin wallet" on Google images and all I see is a Bitclone with a PoS - what's so great about this again?
2812  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] BlackCoin (BC) | on exchanges | PoS | No premine on: April 13, 2014, 07:04:38 PM
It's a pump bubble.  No way Multipools are generating over $1 million.

This happens each time Bitcoin and all the alts decline in value - some random coin is selected and everyone throws dumb money at it and then people are stuck left holding the bag.   It has happened several times in the past 90 days.

Last time it was Mintcoin / Vertcoin where the whales and bagholders were exclaiming, since it saw massive gains out of nowhere, that it would replace BTC.   Roll Eyes

2813  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [NEM] NEM -New Economy Movement - No Envy Movement - Updates+Discussion thread on: April 13, 2014, 06:48:10 PM
1. This is the NEM thread post your coin info in the appropriate places. NOT HERE!!

2. I own zero NAS

3. I do find it funny that many of us supported NEM when it was only a fork/clone. Now we act like this so horrible LOL!!! Just saying!!

It was hypothetical discussion back then and nobody supported NEM because it was a fork of Nxt (there were other, now abandoned, $hitclones of NxT at the time).

NEM was supported then because it promised to take NxT's worst feature (distribution), modify it and make it palatable to the mainstream.   Now NEM is a different creature with new code, features but also with good unparalleled distribution.
2814  Bitcoin / Press / Re: 2014-04-12 CoinDesk - Why Bitcoin is Fated for Boom and Bust on: April 13, 2014, 06:34:27 PM
What bust?  Had you bought in a year ago at $100 you saw a return of 400%, which beats anything you can get from a portfolio (2% to 20%) or the bank (laughable interest rates).

The international remittance industry is worth $500 billion and the international black market (which isn't all Mafia - often it's ordinary people paid under the table) is worth $10 trillion and then Bitcoin can also attract interest from the retirement funds ($20 trillion) and Gold Enthusiasts ($1.25 trillion) who are looking to diversify.

Right now Bitcoin and all the alternate coins are small blips compared to their true potential where a $1 trillion capitalization in two decades is an achievable goal and that's coming from a pessimist.

2815  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [NEM] NEM -New Economy Movement - No Envy Movement - Updates+Discussion thread on: April 13, 2014, 02:38:58 PM

Clearly, the multipool is not the only factor. Blackcoin has brought some innovation to the market(the multipool), has gathered an enthusiast community and comes with no premine and no inflation because it is POS.

It has inflation but is very low in total 1% yearly inflation.

Which is still high for a crypto as most $Fiat see 1% to 3% inflation in a year and it adds up over the decades.
2816  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [NEM] NEM -New Economy Movement - No Envy Movement - Updates+Discussion thread on: April 13, 2014, 04:55:42 AM
So what are the benefits of a multi pool?

The benefits are the following, we get to integrate the miners(which is a very large community) and create a steady buying pressure on the price, which naturally leads to steady price increase. (For more info check blackcoin as a case study)

The multipool will allow people to mine the most profitable coin, automatically convert their gains in Nem through buying on the exchange and pay them in Nem.

I can agree with this but the emphasis on steady should be noted.  BC is doing $1 million in volume at the moment and I don't think it's due to multipools alone?
2817  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [NEM] NEM -New Economy Movement - No Envy Movement - Updates+Discussion thread on: April 12, 2014, 07:08:00 PM
Is it true that the top 3 IPO investors received 37% of all coins, and the top 11 IPO investors received 71% of all coins?

RankingAccount NumberNAS received% of total 10bn NAS

1178276707217239482643988005003.99%

So NAS is a clone of Nxt, with the only innovation being that it takes Nxt's worst feature (bad initial distribution) and makes it even worse. It will be severely dumped by those top 10-15 investors; how is anybody in their right mind paying 20 satoshi for this?!?

As well one of the NaS whales (possibly the creator himself) just dumped all their coin and bought up entire sell walls of NxT (the reason behind NxT's surprise upswing today).

The issue with NxT wasn't its' technical features but rather it's distribution and taking NxT's worst feature and making it worse isn't ever going to work.

Your competitor NAScoin was just added to the first exchange: dgex.com

your move NEM!

Not in the same league, so not a competitor.  Nas coin is a poor copy of NxT with a sockpuppet developer who has already been banned once.

it exists. so yeah currently another league :Wink

and so are you Grin

AFAIK Nas is a clone, one man developer and a mining coin.  No idea why people are promoting, mining coins are obsolete and the exceptions like Doge were fads at best.

Good that you say Afaik. Because it is completetly wrong what you said.
Clone with improvements.
More than one dev
No mining. But POS for Transaktion costs

No I was spot on.  Nas is a $hitclone of NxT and there's no team, just one guy pretending there is (like Marinecoin)

Another NxT clone (which won't fix BCnext's flaws) and ran by a sock puppet developer (7 posts and named after the coin) who has been banned twice. NAS doesn't belong on this thread, it's the first of many NxT $hitclone scams.
