Ultimately if you don't like our price then go elsewhere or design your own. There is no obligation to buy.

Is that the first rack mounted ASIC prototype I see?

2804  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Black Arrow's Avalon on: June 14, 2013, 05:21:30 PM
Not interested at that price; not really even close to a break-even situation. n a Diff will be 40MM at delivery, and thats if you actually hit your timeline.  You need to consider margins far lower than the 100% your trying to get, especially o preorder.

Anyway; good luck, others might be interested.

Why is an Asicminer Blade with 13Ghash worth 50BTC and Avalon 65Ghash doesn't worth 99BTC?

No offense BlackArrow but your FPGAs, ASICMINER Blades, ASICMINER USBs, and now.. your price for an Avalon clone are way too expensive for most experienced bitcoin mining investors that do their research on the Bitcoin network projections and profitability. The way difficulty is going up so high fast, a lot of these overpriced options have a possibility that they will never break even. Most of the people that are buying the overpriced mining equipment are going to get burned IMO. I've seen most of them using the logic like "well.. if Bitcoin value goes up, then it's a good investment anyways," but in reality they would just be better off buying Bitcoins in that scenario.

KNCMiner set an attractive price, and scam or no scam there are going to be a lot of people that throw money at them blindly... millions of dollars easy. Do you want to be an overpriced Avalon reseller and sell thousands of dollars of equipment, or do you want to be a big boy in the ASIC arena and sell millions of dollars worth of equipment with attractive pricing? The day is going to come very soon when ASIC manufacturers have to come down on their current pricing. You could be one of the first and capture a large market share.

Nevertheless, the more ASIC options the better, so I wish you luck in your venture.

Yummy.. watermelon.

I think (maybe) I get what he's saying. I think he is accusing that they are mining with customer hardware.

I will think it over some more Coblee.

I admit sometimes I am quick to make a decision or say something without really thinking things over as thoroughly I should.

It's hard to say no to the creator of Litecoin, you are seriously like a God to me... minus the praying and church stuff. Well.. OK, maybe that was a bit of an exaggeration, however I do hold a great deal of respect for you. Smiley
2807  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [LTC] [ANN] Physical Litecoins by CryptoVest (Project on hold)) on: June 13, 2013, 09:10:36 PM
Wow, very sorry to hear this, though along with not going down the pre-order path it does help to confirm your integrity, if you & your backers do decide to launch a physical LTC some time in the future, there may well be room for two or more manufacturers in this market, then you already have a lot of goodwill, best of luck & hope to hear more in the future re this &/or other projects.

Cheers Otoh,

I assure you it was never my intent to scam, I only wanted to make something neat for Litecoin that didn't exist yet. Another part of me feels that my time would be better spent working on creating another product/service that doesn't exist and building upon the Litecoin infrastructure, rather than competing with someone from the community working on a similar project.

Thx for your effort!

I'll donate a small ammount:)

2808  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [LTC] [ANN] Physical Litecoins by CryptoVest (Coming soon!!) on: June 13, 2013, 06:38:56 PM
Hi everyone,

After all this I have decided not to make the coins. I spent too much time organizing things and polling the public for their opinions, that it seems that someone else has beaten me to the punch and made their own physical Litecoins. This was a surprise to me, seeing as though this person never made an announcement or anything. I can't honestly take my investors money (over $10k) and use it on this project knowing that there will be competition and that his ROI will likely take a large hit. Believe me, no one is more upset with this turn of events than I am, I have spent over a thousand dollars on design and programming a custom program to generate/print addresses, and most of my free time the past few months has gone into planning or organizing some part of this.

Thank you all for your interest,

Ch
2809  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: These physical LTC look awesome! on: June 12, 2013, 11:59:06 PM
They havent even started selling them yet.

Yeah, but I haven't even had mine made yet. There is about a 3 week lead time at the very least to go from a design to a product.

Profit margins are so small for this type of thing, if there's competition I'll have to lower my prices and it's not worth my time. I make $40+/hr at my day job, I'm not going to work myself silly on this project for peanuts.

I actually think I know who is making them by deducing several things because Coblee knows who it is already... this guy is on the Litecoin dev team so it would make since Coblee was aware he was making them. The guy offered to partner with me when I made my thread, but was going to make me sign a contract and pay for legal fees, etc., so I turned down his deal. I suppose maybe it is my fault, but if I partnered with everyone that asked to partner with me in this deal, I'd have 10 partners by now.

Anyways, I guess I'll just go back to being a lowly miner... life is much less stressful that way anyways. Smiley
2810  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: These physical LTC look awesome! on: June 12, 2013, 11:29:09 PM
Looks like I have competition.

I don't want to get in a bidding war with another physical Litecoin company, so I think I'll just bow out gracefully.

Perhaps I shouldn't of posted my idea here on the forums for anyone to steal... oh well, you live and you learn.
2811  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Cloud Hashing on: June 12, 2013, 11:14:40 PM
If you don't trust them just pay by credit card and charge back if they don't deliver.

Disclosure: I bought 1 July contract. This won't make me rich but I imagine it's profitable.

Good luck with that...

Cloudhashing is using BFL hardware that they only just now pre-ordered (well.. OK, they ordered in Feb/March/April... something like that.)

There is no way that they actually get mining hardware in or before July, seeing as though how late their BFL pre-orders are.

2813  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Block Erupter USB Sales on: June 11, 2013, 10:16:24 PM
My reasoning,

I am not trying to mine my 2 BTC back as much as I am trying to mine my ~ $240.00 back.... but if I mine .5 BTC over the entire life of the device lets say, and it costs me nothing to run, then all I need is for BTC to be ~ $480.00 / USD to break even at this point right.

Except if you are thinking that way, not buying one in the first place would give you $960

This.

Everyone complains that ASICs are overpriced...

It is because so many noobs are willing to pay 2 BTC+ for 300Mh and most likely never break even. Hell, 10 Gh is going for 50 BTC.

The "free markert" aka the idiots of these forums bid the prices up, so high there's no way they're breaking even in a year or less.

Only idiots/the uninformed are paying these prices.

I remember you giving this deal out way back when 420.

It looks like it kinda bit you in the butt.  Undecided

I should have bought a contract with you as well, I am kicking myself right now.  Smiley

But then I would have felt bad for you to have to sell your Litecoins so cheaply, so I guess it would have been bittersweet.

I hope you are well, haven't seen you around in a while.

Cheers,

2817  Bitcoin / Hardware / What ASIC horse are you backing? on: June 09, 2013, 05:49:41 PM
So, there are many many options to buy ASICs now (hooray)!  Grin

Almost too many.. it has become hard to decide what to buy!  Embarrassed

I thought it would be interesting for everyone to post which company they are planning on/have ordered ASICs from and why.

I'll start it off by saying I've ordered some Avalon bulk chips and have no idea where I'm getting them assembled yet, but I am leaning towards Terrahash. I am also looking to buy an ASIC built on a smaller process node (BFL/kncminer/bitfury/etc), but I haven't decided which company to go with yet. I am leaning towards kncminer/bitfury because of their attractive prices.

What have you ordered or are planning on ordering and why?

My current breaker gets hot and doesn't trip when it blows, power goes out and switch is still on -.- , I'm worried about this breaker causing problems so I'm going to replace it. What should I be looking for? I don't want to just go to ace and pick up a cheapie, I want one that is going to do good by my rigs. Cheesy

Looking for recommendations.

No offense, but if you have to ask these types of questions, you really need to get an electrician. It is obvious to me you don't know what you're talking about.

I mean come on.... your question about if you needed GCFI breakers was so lol. You are going to hurt yourself or someone else.
2820  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: SMOS linux 1.0 - Scrypt Mining Operating System on: June 08, 2013, 02:46:47 PM
Backdoors on a mining rig OS?

Just use a simple password for your rigs and pool, and don't log into any online accounts on your rigs. You should be fine if you do this even if there is a key logger or something.

PS: OP, I love you long time.
