I appreciate the help, I was concerned that because I was a freebie it may have been damaged by the previous owner so thought I would come here seeing as I had problems. But it turned out that the problem was the operator  Roll Eyes......me  Cheesy

Nice one cheers guys. I'll see if I can sort something out tomorrow after work. Try and get one version of a miner working lol.

Thanks for the replies, ive just sorted it. Had to unplug it and plug it in again while cgminer was running  Roll Eyes Its now hashing and flashing away woohoo!!!!!!

Don't use zadig with bfgminer? well thats probably my issue then as ive just download bfg to try and get my U3's and compac to work  Roll Eyes

How do I undo what zadig has changed?

Both U3's are good as they will run and work on cgmienr direct through the laptop usb. So cant be a power issue either. Im stumped  Undecided

If you already have a Windows copy of cgminer, the dll is in that folder. Just copy and paste.

What drivers did you install for the stick? What's the light doing when you plug it in, and when you fire up cgminer? Additionally, if you're using a stock cgminer, the stick enumerates as a U3. If the voltage is too low for it to initialize at 225MHz, you might turn it up a bit. You'd probably see the white LED flash a couple times when cgminer starts, and then about every ten seconds while cgminer is running, as it tries to initialize the stick and fails. Try adjusting the voltage upward and see what happens. If you can measure it, probably set it to about 670mV and see where that gets you. While you're at it, measure the voltages on all the testpads on the back and post what they read out.

Thanks for pointing out the dll file, just pasted it in there and set up a bat file and got cgminer(gecko version) to run and the two U3's are picked up and hashing, the compac is picked up but wont hash, it comes up with a Libusb-success error. Ive used zadig to install the win usb driver, ive installed it and reinstalled it numerous times.

The lights on the gekko are steady green and a couple of blue/purple flash like it starts hashing then just goes back to steady green.

I know it works as ive plugged it into my Antrouter and it worked in there fine, but because it drew all the usb power the antrouter stopped hashing itself.

Well I cannot get two U3's working on the R1 for more than 5mins without them both dropping out. Im at my wits end. The U3's will both has away together on cgminer no problem so I know its nothing to do with the amount of power they are getting. Just the R1 not playing ball.

Has anyone else got any ideas?

change the hub - mine started that wAy until I changed the hub to a simple cheapo 4-port hub

Ive tried a cheap usb2.0 hub and a cheap usb3.0 hub and now a powered usb 2.0 hub and still they will drop out every couple of minutes for 5 mins then stop completely.

Hi,

I need some help please. Im not exactly computer minded but ive delved into the world of mining (albeit small time). Im currently trying to get two U3's and a compac stick to work on a powered usb hub.

My current bat file is the following (all one long line):-

bfgminer -o eu1.bitminter.com:3333 -u gtaddict_u3 -p x  -S antminer:all --set antminer:chip=BM1382 --set antminer:voltage=x800 --set antminer:clock=237.5 --set antminer:timing=0.02241 --set compac:clock=200

But when bfg miner starts it says there are no devices found. Where have I gone wrong?  Huh

Thanks.

Thanks for the replies guys. I have downloaded the compact version of cgminer but it says I haven't got a "zlib1.dll" so it wont run.

Now im not that well computer minded and ive tried various additional bits in the bat file of cgminer 4.9.2 but it always comes up running at 225m and 775v for the U'3 but doesn't recognise the compac. It only shows the two U3's even thought they are all plugged into the same powered hub.

Hi guys,

Ive received a gekko stick as a little bonus when I bought a U3 from ebay. Ive got the two U3's working fine on cgminer 4.9.2, but I cant get it to see the gekko. THey are all connectd to a powered usb hub.

Can anyone shed any light on this?

I have entered no additional settings in the bat file, just my pool and user info.

Has anyone got an example of a full line of info for the bat code that I can copy and change the relevant info?

Thanks in advance.

Ok so a little update to my issues ive been having with hooking up multiple U3's to the R1.

My old U3 ended up being dead, so that's now going. I bought a replacement which is being recognised by the R1, BUT, they will both drop out intermittently. Would this be due to the usb hub being non-powered and the R1 cant supply enough power, or would it be due to something else?

They are both hooked up to an atx breakout board with the 24pin connector from my psu connected (until I can get another 8 or 6pin pci cable).

Thanks for any and all help received already and for any future help Smiley

I'm liking the improvements of the site. Bravo!

I'm from the United Kingdom by the way Wink

I'm currently at 137m and with the voltage box blank as I was told it doesn't do anything anyway. That's as fast as my one will go before it starts to restart all the time.
2855  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BITMAIN AntRouter R1: 1st wireless networking device with bitcoin mining chip on: March 29, 2016, 09:17:58 PM
Well new grey goo did nothing. Still the same problem. Even downloaded the cgminer version from the Bitmain support website and it causes the program to stop working once it gets to the voltage request thing. So looks like it's actually dead. So if anyone wants a U3 let me know. It's going cheap only £15  Cheesy
2856  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BITMAIN AntRouter R1: 1st wireless networking device with bitcoin mining chip on: March 29, 2016, 05:40:33 PM
It was working fine through the circuit board and PSU connection then suddenly stopped. I'll put it back together late me with some new thermal gloop and give it another go.
2857  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: GekkoScience Compac BM1384 Stickminer Official Support Thread on: March 29, 2016, 03:28:49 PM
Well my U3 has 1382 chips in it as its now apart to see if I can see anything wrong. Ill re-do the thermal goo and fire it up again on the off chance the old crusty paste had anything to do with it. If not then its going for spares or repairs on ebay.
2858  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BITMAIN AntRouter R1: 1st wireless networking device with bitcoin mining chip on: March 29, 2016, 03:26:29 PM
Plugged the one in to the laptop and tried to run it through cgminer and cgminer wont load. It comes up with the first line then doesn't load until I unplug the U3. Ive just loaded it again while writing this and it says "MTX Icarus something". Also when it loads (after ive unplugged the U30 it says "AMU 0: write voltage comms error werr=-4 amount=0     Failed to set frequency, too much overclock?"

Now I haven't changed the settings since I last had it connected to cgminer before I got the R1. Would all that mean ive got a dead U3 now?
If you can't get the U3 hashing on its own no matter what (did you re-zadig a few times?) then you probably have a dead U3. Sad

My last U3 hashed along as it usually did until one day it just wouldn't get recognized by the computer any more and I gave it away for cost of shipping.

Yep done the zadig a few times and again tried loading cgminer etc first then plugging it in etc etc but nothing. Oh well time ti take it to bits and have a look at it.

Have you tried a different power supply?  I don't see that being mentioned that is something I would test to.

They are not really quality ones that were included with them at sale.

Yep ran it from the standard power brick (7.5a 12v) and direct from my psu which runs my S3's and still zilch. Its apart now. Going to re-do the thermal paste as th old stuff was really crusty and see if that does anything. If not then ill sell it for spares or if someone has the know-how for repairs.
2859  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: GekkoScience Compac BM1384 Stickminer Official Support Thread on: March 28, 2016, 08:41:09 PM
Hi sidehack, I've got a dead U3 would the chips be any good for a USB stick? I'd like one but obviously can't get them anymore. Would it be able to be run from a standard hub (non powered) through an Antrouter?

Thanks.

The U3 uses the BM1382 chip (same as S3)

The compac stick uses BM1384(same as S5)

Worth mentioning as I had the same idea when 2 of my U3 died :p

Great minds  Wink

ok maybe not so great compared so some guys on here  Cheesy

Well the U3 is apart and the thermal paste is all crunchy so going to replace it and give it another try.
