2841  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Local Laws about Crypto on: July 19, 2018, 10:19:31 AM
Laws even not related to cryptocurrencies are made available for everyone. Laws are simply your basic rules, regulations, and rights when you are living in that country, not showing you your laws or even some of it will simply mean that your own government is depriving you with your own rights. I won't be touching a lot with the subject matter but laws are made available even in the web. Such as my country all Supreme Court cases (Old and New ones), Our own Constitution, Republic Acts, and Executive Orders, and even Legal Memorandums are made available for us in the internet, it is just one search away in Google. Now I can't help you with any particulars as I don't know where you live or what site is your government using to store your laws and other legal regulations but try DYOR it will really help you a lot.
2842  Economy / Speculation / Re: Monthly USD returns since 2011 on: July 19, 2018, 08:13:21 AM
It is simple dollar cost averaging (DCA) don't work in Bitcoin or any other cryptocurrencies, this types of investments cannot be maximize just by buying it at any price and sitting on it as it is volatile meaning there are many good entry points when buying it. This chart where they show that we buy at the first day of the month and sell and turn out on a loss in the last day of the month shows us that there are many good window of opportunity by waiting at the best price possible during those months. If you really value your money waiting for the right time to buy is your best option. Some even consider shorting all their holdings if they want to have more at a cheaper price.
2843  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-07-18] ‘Wow’: Ethereum Fees Higher Than Bitcoin’s For First Time Ever on: July 18, 2018, 08:02:35 PM
At this rate we might see ETH fall behind on the crypto market's latest price rally. If ETH is having issues as what has Bitcoin has experience before then we might see a shift of funds from its holders as we have seen before in the market. We might see ETH in a loss while other cryptos are in a gain and fueling my guess is BTC is looking strong on how it break the 7,000$ price resistance while Ethereum quickly corrected back below at the 480$ level after staying at the 500$ level for a short while. Ethereum must now find their own way of unclogging their network before it will start to fall behind more.
2844  Other / Meta / Re: Improve the quality of new topics on: July 18, 2018, 07:14:59 PM
Really? A merit system for incentivizing your thread on being a megathread? I don't think so you are technically promoting more spam to happen in the forum. With your proposed "improvements" if I want to earn merits the easy way then I would resort on creating topics with general questions like "Is Bitcoin the new Gold?", "Why Banks are Scared of Bitcoin?", "Is Bitcoin the Future of Currency?", or "Is Bitcoin Illegal?" topic questions like this can generate me a lot of merits in no time especially when this topics are posted in the Bitcoin Discussion section as they can easily be answered by a lot of people and all of them will have a generic or similar answer. Just remember the basics, merits are earned by creating high quality post not by receiving tons of replies from the thread you created, quantity does not mean quality.
2845  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Supportchain.su - SCAM on: July 18, 2018, 06:16:35 PM
Before you accuse of Scam, ask why it was done?
I can also sue every other person who did something wrong or accuse him of something, without knowing it, you're blaming the company..

Are you on drugs? Why are you defending them? There is no time to waste asking "why" questions. Any legitimate company would never steal someone's identity.!!! Now lets them come back and defend themselves. Then, if they prove who they are and explain why they did that, maybe the SCAM accusation can be removed.
But what to expect from someone/team that starts a project stealing people's identity?
I am a SEO team and I tell you why it was done so.
Since we don't have any Advisors at this stage, we took photos from public access, not knowing who it is.
At the moment we have removed the photos in order to eliminate misunderstanding on the part of different people (such as you)
We agree with different people who want to work with us advisers, but until we took them we took the photos from public access if this information is clear, please remove this post about the fraud. Wink
What you did by using pictures of real persons and changing their names and titles to create your own "advisory team" is called fake endorsement and you did that for your own personal gain, what you did is considered as a fraud and I don't think removing it is enough to prove that other parts of your business is legit already because what you have done prove to us your ICO is not worthy of our trust. If you really want to have a clean ICO promotion you should have launch your ICO without faking an advisory team if you really don't have one. Looking at other "members" of your team it looks like their pictures are stock photos from the internet. My advise for potential investors is to stay away from this ICO as it is a potential scam.
2846  Economy / Gambling / Re: BitShuffle.io - Graph Betting on: July 18, 2018, 05:03:19 PM
I just checked on your site, it is pretty good to have such binary game. This is been so long since someone is trying to made any nice binary gamble. But when it comes to the payout, is there anyway to verify our bet that it is a provably fair? Which price are you referring your higher and lower payout? As you can see here, provably fair system is a must for every site. If only you can tell us how it works may be everything should be good
The prices are set at random and it is not based on real world prices. If you tried the game you will see how it works. The price chart's line is continuously moving and anytime you can press higher or lower when you think you are comfortable with the range of how high or how low are the prices are during the bet you are making this will also automatically start your bet and will set a finish line for your prediction. I do agree that your provably fair system needs more explanation as well particularly on how your finish line is set if is it on or before the bet is made.
2847  Economy / Economics / Re: Do you think Jeff Bezos will beocme a trillionaire? on: July 17, 2018, 07:04:35 PM
The simple answer is no or at least not in the near future. Jeff Bezos adding 40$ Billion to his wealth does not make his path to become a trillionaire clear. Yes his business is set as it has been future proofed by him but does it mean there will be no competition for him? Of course not other conglomerates or even startup companies will try to rival and take some market shares away from Amazon. Just take a look at Coca-cola and Pepsi they have been taking shares from each other. Amazon just needs to have its match.
2848  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: India May Levy 18 Percent Tax on Cryptocurrency Trading Starting July 2018 on: July 17, 2018, 04:10:58 PM
India May Levy 18 Percent Tax on Cryptocurrency Trading Starting July 2018, it is good news for every Indian who are waiting for that, it means Indian government has accepted Bitcoin currency. Indian economy is on the way of growth and needs to move to increase its cash flow and taxing crypto so it is a decent move. A hope to Indian cryptocurrency investors that bitcoin is being legitimized. A large volume of potential users are available in India, if an income is taxed, then it should mean that earning through that mode is legal. What a great news! Finally something beginning.
It seems like the Indian government don't have any updates about this one. Also I think this Goods and Services Tax is a little too much for an actively traded asset, this would mean that every time they sell a cryptocurrency they would be subject to 18% tax, but if this is classified as a capital gains tax then I would understand it as you would only pay if you have earned a gain. In my opinion I don't think this is India's way of moving forward but to dissatisfy Indians to invest in cryptocurrency. The must bring this tax rate down if they ever push through with this classification.
2849  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-07-17] World’s First Bank-Owned Crypto Exchange Launches Publicly in Japan on: July 17, 2018, 02:06:35 PM
There is nothing bad about this news, a bank-owned cryptocurrency exchange will in fact give more assurance to its investors and traders. Knowing that a bank is the one who is operating and managing the cryptocurrency exchange you know that your funds is safe in your portfolio. Another thing is that it is properly licensed by the Japanese government which clearly means that it is backed up by their own government. SBI holdings is a big bank company in Japan, having a stock value of 24.87$ in USD they are a top performer. A big company like SBI will go a long way when it comes to influencing other companies on joining their views.
2850  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Hardware Wallets & Security flaws on: July 17, 2018, 12:44:00 PM
There was a post before that provided a pdf file explaining while hardware wallets are not safe even the ones being sold by Ledger. I have read it carefully that buying 2nd hand hardware wallets and also the ones in retail stores are vulnerable to this Evil Maid Attack. Based on how I read it this attack remains to be undetected to the user and the wallet's system, you will just know that your hardware wallet is tampered when you don't have any holdings left in your wallet. Main solution is buying the hardware wallets directly to the manufacturers' stores. Maybe still providing some kind of tamper proof seal will give the buyers a peace of mind, there are a lot of counterfeits out there and this is just one of the necessary security to have.

This guy is a big spammer and should be blocked from using the forum.
You can Text me on whatsapp +91 9657746573
I want some serious deals.
This is my message from June 16 2017,
I still own this phone number.
This is a link to your profile, not to a post on the forum. This isn't proof of a posted phone number.
Then again, this is Bitcointalk, not Phonetalk, and a signed message is much more reliable.

But, the posting style is the same before and after the password change:
Posting quality was bad before:
That is for the reason that bitcoin is new as compared to others. Like if you are considering companies like unsilver and nestle and any other well-known multinational company, so brother they are operating since long time. We have been just started in 2009 and till 2016 this bitcoin wasn’t to be seen at any place. We can count these last two years for bitcoin as its growth. So it will take time.
And posting is bad after:
All we can do is to hope for the good and expecting a better market conditions as we are in danger zone these days it is actually the price which put us in fear but we should remember that it is a market favorable for long term so we should stay calm in the market like a duck and paddle like a crazy underneath. The market f our desire will come soon this year as the market low price is attracting people to invest.
It could just as well be an account that was sold a year ago, and the original owner is now trying to claim it back.
I'm not leaving red trust on this case, it doesn't smell right.
Agreed, it seems like both parties are not telling the whole story here. We have Smarty14392 here who is not telling an explanation why Smarty14392_alt verified a Bitcoin address who has been previously been used in his account. And Smarty14392_alt who didn't think of trying to recover the Smarty14392 account by clicking the forget password if only his password has been change while his email address remains unchanged which he can successfully reset via email verification. Both parties need some more explaining to do or provide more covincing proof.
2852  Other / Meta / Re: My account Smarty14392 was hacked on: July 17, 2018, 08:36:44 AM
I got some bad news for you Smarty14392 or whoever is currently using it, it seems like your post for your Whatsapp number is not real. And you only altered the code for the quote to make it look like it was an older post compared to the date when the password was change.
You can Text me on whatsapp +91 9657746573
I want some serious deals.
The code from the quote looks like this one:
Code:
[quote author=Smarty14392 link=action=profile;u=952148 date=1497626905]
So it only redirects us to your profile page. Can you explain why? Because it seems like you just have altered a quote to make it look like you have an older post or maybe your post of the whatsapp number got deleted.

2853  Economy / Gambling / Re: BitShuffle.io - Graph Betting on: July 16, 2018, 07:34:33 PM

How does it work?
The graph goes randomly up and down while the average point of the graph is always 1.00 - All the results are pregenerated so the game is completely fair and is not influenced by the website owners in anyway!
What you have to do is to guess if the graph will be lower or higher the current point on the graph , The site will multiply your bet according your betting efficiency.
I though this is a binary option site and trying to seek out on which price you do had followed (I though it is on BTC price) but im shocked you have stated that it is randomly going up and down?
This is prone to manipulation of such movement we dont even able to check out the fairness of those movements.
What is efficiency?
Efficiency determines the multiplier on correct prediction. 75% efficiency means you'll be rewarded 75% of your bet amount once round ends. Efficiency grows up to 95% as you win predictions.

Thats freaking 25% house edge on that case where you would able to get 1.75 if you do able to hit prediction.
There isn't actual house edge in the game , since the higher/lower the graph is the more chance the user has to win , for example if the graph is at 1.15 there is way more chances that the end point will be less than that since the average point is 1.00 , We are working on adding a provably fair explanation that will be simple as possible for every user and the math behind the game.
I do agree that this isn't actually a house edge as you are the one who will predict if it will be higher and lower on a certain point, you can actually be the one to choose to put your bet prediction set at "higher" when you see the graph is at its lowest point giving you a greater chance that it will go up, the same thing can be said when it is at its top price you can set your bet at a "lower" prediction. Provided that this game is provably fair I think that this is a fair game for gamblers. I do think that starting at 75% efficiency is kinda low maybe starting at 80% should be better.
2854  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Explain crypto to someone like he's five? on: July 16, 2018, 06:41:19 PM
I'm pretty sure OP is talking about the "ELI5" (Explain Like I'm Five), which is basically when you ask for a simplified explanation of anything that can be understood by anyone (even by a 5 years old kid ~that's the joke btw~). There is even a dedicated subreddit for this (/r/explainlikeimfive).

"Used when you want someone to explain something in the simplest way possible." - ELI5 on the Urban Dictionary
Assuming if that 5 yo know the basics about money, you can explain that a cryptocurrency is like money the only difference is it is some kind of money that cannot be touch unlike the regular fiat money and can only be seen on wallets that exist with your mobile phones and desktop computers. But even explaining it like that to a 5 year old I don't think he will understand what cryptocurrencies still are as their brain is still not fixated to that kind of subject matter. Yes they might repeat what you have said but I don't think they have understood it in any way.
2855  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-07-16]Having Approved 12 Crypto Exchanges, a South Korean Industry Body Is on: July 16, 2018, 05:15:27 PM
The link you provided is different from the news preview you have shown. Here is the link of what news you are providing if we are on the same track.
Having Approved 12 Crypto Exchanges, a South Korean Industry Body Is Under Fire

The Korea Blockchain Association (KBA), that deals with the inspection of cryptocurrency exchanges, is suffering from overwhelming scrutiny. In May, the regulatory body conducted an in-house examination of 12 digital currency exchanges operating on the country’s crypto market. As a result, 12 out of 12 crypto trading platforms were approved.

Read the details in the article of Coinidol dot com, the world blockchain news outlet: https://coinidol.com/former-finance-minister-backs-quickx-project/
The problem here is they should have limited the cryptocurrency exchanges who will pass in the first place. If they don't have the manpower to maintain and monitor all 12 exchanges then I think the next step would be selectively shutting them down by not renewing their licenses anymore. If they will do this they need to use some kind of striking system where the exchanges who has the least amount of strikes will remain in operation in South Korea. For me having 12 cryptocurrency officially licensed in South Korea is really a problem when it comes to security as it would be impossible to monitor all of them at once without the proper manpower to do so.
2856  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: EU 4th AML directive to cut down crimes related to Cryptocurrency on: July 16, 2018, 12:38:19 PM
If you are talking about the price movement in Bitcoin with this kind of initiative in the EU I don't think it will have a negative effect on Bitcoin's price when it comes to stricter enforcement. I know some of you might be thinking that the criminals will be liquidating fast their cryptocurrency holdings in order to stray away from this rule the exact opposite might happen. In order for them to stay under the raider they might be moving their funds in small tranches just like what other small traders are doing in order for them not to be notice by the authorities. This alert on bank transaction thresholds might not be effective enough to identify who the real culprits are.
2857  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Bitcointalk's FIFA World Cup Pool Discussion Thread on: July 15, 2018, 06:11:59 PM
Damn!!! My predictions was 2 goals shy. But I still have moved up in the leaderboards in the match predictor's leaderboard
When will the rewards be given out?
Im 4th as i see  Smiley
I don't think you are the clear winner at the 4th place. Yes you are right that you are placed at 4th in the match prediction part but for the bracket challenge you are 2nd to last. Remember that we will be adding both scores for both leagues based on the rules given by hilarious. The members with the most total points from both leagues will be the winners of the pool.
2858  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Bitcointalk's FIFA World Cup Pool Discussion Thread on: July 15, 2018, 04:03:07 PM
Gained 266 pts with  my Belgium vs England Prediction. Let see if my prediction at France vs Croatia will be right. Got them at 3-1 with France winning the world cup. Currently it is 2-1 at Half Time and I think I am on the right track as of the moment, I know I won't win the pool anymore I just want to see my name climb up to the leaderboards. Goodluck to your World Cup predictions everyone.
2859  Other / Meta / Re: BITCOINTALK (BTALK) Tokens? || Wait what?? on: July 15, 2018, 12:39:58 PM
Currently priced at .006505$ per coin in coinmarketcap with a ATH of .018$ per coin I don't think we need to be serious with this one as even the developers openly admitted that this coin was created just for fun and does not really discussed any kind of value or use at all. Tokens that are generally created for without any point and distributed for free always ends up being a worthless coin. Thinking about this cryptocurrency will be used in any kind of transaction seems to be impossible as they won't even consider this as their first choice when transacting in BCT or even outside of the forum. I honestly didn't knew a token like this existed until now.
2860  Economy / Reputation / Re: I'm ignoring posters who start threads with all caps titles. on: July 12, 2018, 09:07:30 PM
Threads like this one has a potential to become a breeding ground for members required to reach their post requirements. Not only the topic is common but with using all caps with its title it will attract low ranking members who will surely post generic answers and then it will soon become a megathread. So I don't think you will lose anything when it comes to topics like this one as you won't find any post meritable or if you do it will be buried and covered with worthless trash.
