" Interest in NFT and metaverse drops: Google Trends

Based on data from Google Trends, searches for the words "NFT" and "metaverse" dropped sharply in February. They fell by 68% and 64%, respectively.

Also, over the past week, NFT's trading volume dropped by 32%. Now it amounts to $407 mln. "

This is not very shocking if everyone will consider that the cryptospace always a hype and pump stage that has always been followed by a fud and dump stage later in this cycle. It is very much similar as ICOs and Defi. However, did ICOs and Defi die? No they became important parts of the continued existence of cryptospace and its culture. NFTs will become part of this culture too, I reckon.
2862  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What will be the next big industry move? on: March 09, 2022, 05:15:08 AM
Everyone is speculating on NFT and the metaverse might be the next industry move and I agree, however, no one is speculating on the hyperdollarization of the gambling industry in the cryptospace through stablecoins. Also not only USDT or USDC, also decntralized stablecoins like DAI, TUSD and others too. I mentioned this before, if there was a smart owner of a gambling site, he would begin accepting stablecoins now while the cryptospace is under a bear market.

really good take
dollar-pegged coins will probably grow up in terms of % of total dollars in existence and may be a good option for those who want no exposure to crypto volatility (only exposure to fiat volatiliy, but this is a different story)

Tether and USDC hyperdollarized the exchanges of the cryptospace. DAI, Terra and other decentralized stablecoins are hyperdollarizing Defi. I reckon other forms of services in the cryptospace that handles money should also follow. They cannot let their users coins become $1.00 tomorrow and be $0.50 on the next day hehehe. A cryptogambling service with stablecoins and Defi features will certainly be a big industry move.
2863  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: March 09, 2022, 04:26:44 AM
Looks like there will be some problems with the next fight in London. Dana White wants to have the Russian fighters there but he smells the troubles coming.
I expected this to happen and I was surprised to see this weekend fight card is going normal with Magomed Ankalaev and Azamat Murzakanov coming from Russia.
One solution could be to use Khabib's Eagle FC for local fights, but if situation continue to escalate we might see MMA moving to China for international fights including all countries.
I never understood why people who play sport gets banned because of politics but I guess it's all connected.

It will not be in China, I reckon. This move will certainly be politicized by the Biden administration because China is a silent ally of Russia. Dana is also a popular supporter of the Donald Trump during his presidential campaigns. He does not want give Biden the wrong type of attention hehehe. However, the UFC can always go to fight island, Abu Dhabi for international fights.

Will Khabib's Eagle FC continue their promotion in America? Are the allowed?

@PrimeNumber7. Have you seen their social media accounts, their videos or their pictures? I reckon those people do not appear like they can hack Bitfinex. They might only be the scapegoats. Also, I really speculate that the real hackers might behind this is within the American government and the scapegoat couple is being paid to play their part in a scheme to retrieve the coins.

@timerland. Agreed! Their reputations began falling when Sifu was discovered to be one of the Quadrigacx scammers. I also speculate that the securities and exchange commission of Andre Cronje's country might have sent him a letter telling him that an investigation will begin on him hehehe.

In any case, some of his projects were not rugs. Yearn Finance is not a rug, also some of his early projects in Fantom are not rugs. However, Solidly and Solidex might be rugs. They were the last projects to have the community provide the liquidity for Andre, Anton, Dani and Sifu to dump hehe.

2867  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: March 08, 2022, 04:50:45 AM

Just recently, Bob Arums claimed that a clash and rematch between Nonito Donaire and Naoya Inoue might take place next month. Although unusual to see that there still no clear updates now.

Donaire-Inoue rematch in April ‘really close,’ says Arum.

It's better for me to have this first before anything else. They need a rematch. Donaire is the first boxer to give Inoue a tough and bloodied fight even. They should settle it for the 2nd time.

Wow, now Donaire got Inoue first. A lot are wanting to see the Inoue vs. Casimero. But seems that Donaire will finally settle what's left here. Can Donaire beat Inoue before his retirement? This will be another interesting fight. April is already next month, so maybe, both camps are in the final arrangement regarding this deal. But when it comes to favorite, I believe, Inoue will still be favored here and Donaire will be the underdog. Regarding the gap of odds, may not be that wide.

I disagree because Casimero's name is not as big as Nonito Donaire. Casimero's was also made to look like a clown versus Rigondeaux after he was saying before the fight that he would knock Rigondeaux out. Donaire's last 2 fights ended his opponents in knockouts. If you are the promoter would you promote the fight that will be liked less and sell less tickets or will you promote a rematch between 2 exciting boxers in the bantamweight division?

However, why is Bob Arum making this fight only 1 month after the speculative announcement? Inoue and Donaire do not need to train? But this is an important fight.
2868  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2022-02-01] Indian Govt to tax crypto gain at 30% and introduce Digital Rupee on: March 08, 2022, 02:06:32 AM
30% is very huge to be honest but rather than banning it i would prefer paying tax after all paying taxes make country become more great.

and introduce digital ruppe is step ahead with other country except china  Grin if the digital ruppe sit on chain like eth or bsc it would be more great s

The Indian government taxed it high because it wants the people within their jurisdiction to be discouraged from using it and also to encourage the use of the digital rupee. This is an expected reality because all governments want control and order. However, what the Indian government might not have discovered is the real users of the cryptospace, those users who are not in this as a speculative investment are those ones who will be hard to tax.
2869  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2022-02-26] Kazakhstan ministry halts illegal crypto mining operations on: March 08, 2022, 01:15:49 AM
25% is a huge amount, especially nowadays with the energy crisis that has been growing for months and where every saving counts
On this one, I agree with the government. You can mine, but the rules must be the same for everyone. I'm of course ok with people mining bitcoin but it shouldn't be unfair competition and parasitism

I disagree. I think that it is necessary for the survival of the bitcoin network for many miners to be unfair and be parasites in an antagonistic environment. I reckon if all of these miners only follow the rules without question, it would create an environment where the government can manipulate and open the mining industry to suppression or maybe also prohibition.

Participating in any cryptocoin should be open for everyone whether it will be holding, doing transactions, mining or staking.

I did not like Licorice Pizza so much, however, it quickly made me think of the best original screenplay category when I was watching it. I searched the odds and it confirmed the speculation.
Hah really? I honestly didn't have that though about any of the movies I saw so far.

I also recommend everyone to watch Drive my car. It might be the underdog of 2022 hehehe.
I haven't seen that one yet as I have issues finding 3 hours of spare time to watch it one go, even though by the looks of it looks like something I might like.

Yes, however, it was not because I thought The Licorice Pizza was a very good movie. It was because it gave an impression that the voters of the academy would like the screenplay of the movie. The movie was more an art film than a movie to please an audience, I reckon. Also, you will certainly like Drive my car but there was a few minutes in the movie where it might have lost the plot and found itself again in the ending.
2871  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Errol Spence Jr vs. Yordenis Ugas 3-Belt Welterweight Unification Match on: March 07, 2022, 02:53:33 AM
Really wish we can just finally see Spence fight Crawford.  That would be an epic fight.  Expecting Spence to take care of business here.  Hopefully they can work out the fight details to get the Crawford match done.  Would be one of the fights of the year if they can make it happen.

Agreed. However, Terence Crawford's next fight will be vs. Keith Thurman. According to some articles, Ugas wants to fight Crawford if he wins but it appears Errol Spence wants to avoid Crawford if he wins. I reckon the promoters might organize this when they are already not in their top shape similar to Brook versus Khan.

Oh yeah? I think I didn't heard about that because the first rumored fight of Keith Thurman is against Donaire but again it was just also a rumored one, anyway we can only do some speculations and the promoters will have the last say if indeed it will be good for their boxer, or if the is too good. We cannot really know for sure if who's going to face Keith Thurman next.

Donaire versus Thurman? Who said this? Is this going to be organized in WWE wrestling? Please share the source of the news hehehe.

We will see who is fighting who base on the result of this fight. Lots of rumors going on, of course the big fight we all wanted is Crawford vs Spence, but still Spence has go and win against Ugas first and then they can sit down and talk about the money and purse. I think that's the big obstacle here, both  wanted more money because they think they are the A-side.

Agreed and no one can criticize either of them if each of them want more money from the pot. I reckon Terence Crawford might not attract viewers as much as Errol Spence, however, Crawford has won versus Shawn Porter with a techincal knockout which gives him an argument to take the same amount of money.

In any case, I am quite sure everyone would be disappointed to read the news after Spence vs. Ugas hehehe. It might be Keith Thurman vs. Errol Spence or Keith Thurman vs. Terence Crawford.

2872  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: This Ukraine issue has me thinking a lot. In a crisis, how valuable is bitcoin? on: March 07, 2022, 01:39:01 AM
Bitcoin might not be the only valuable coin during this war. It also appears that the whole cryptospace will be valuable for Ukraine to get more attention, to issue their own tokens or to mint their own NFTs to fund themselves during this war hehehe.

Similar to what I have said in another thread before, I reckon NFTs are becoming a special part of internet culture.

Ukraine's government abruptly canceled its planned crypto airdrop and said it would instead sell NFTs to raise funds following last week's Russian invasion.

@zasad. Add some of these projects to the list, much of those projects created in Fantom. It appears one of the famous founders the cryptospace has rugpulled on their followers. There might be many people who might say that it was not a rugpull, however, I would be more skeptical on that. They released Solidly and Solidex and then abandon them less than 3 months later? It would be naive not to speculate that this was not planned.

Andre and I have decided that we are closing the chapter of contibuting to the defi/crypto space.
There are around ~25 apps and services that we are terminating on 03 April 2022.

Most notibly
yearn.fi (use yearn.finance)
keep3r.network (use thekeep3r.network)
multichain.xyz (use multichain.org)
chainlist.org (lots of people replacing it)
solidly.exchange
bribe.crv.finance

Unlike previous "building in defi sucks" rage quits, this is not a knee jerk reaction to the hate received from releasing a project, but a decision that has been coming for a while now.
Thanks you to everyone that supported us over the past few years.

2874  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Swiss City of Lugano to Make Bitcoin Legal Tender on: March 06, 2022, 07:36:54 AM
It is not only weird but also stupid to even consider Tether safe as a regular user, let alone make it legal tender at a city or country level. We all know that Tether is a highly risky altcoin and worst of all it is centralized and the central authority controlling it is not some regular developer group, it is a very shady company that has been under multiple investigations by authorities that could (I believe it definitely will) lead to shutting down the company and death of Tether.

It appears that the city of Lugano wants to use the American dollar but only without depending on the American Federal Reserve's dollar printer hehehe. This is comedy. However, I certainly agree with you. This acceptance will only spread Tether's systemic risk from the cryptospace to also slowly go to traditional financial systems.
2875  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: EBAY might accept BITCOIN on: March 06, 2022, 06:37:09 AM
Maybe a hype it seems. If ebay did posted it on their website or confirm by them then theres a possibility. But if none we can only speculate that this might just another shilling for btc as the market seems going good inspite of the current russia ukraine war thats happening.

But just last night btc dumped. Due to a big holder of btc releases it. Looks like the guy cashing out and didnt noticed this ebay hype news. Whales really ignore fundamental trending.

I am quite certain the announcement is to hype Ebay. I speculate that their yearly projection might be negative because of the pandemic and what might appear to be another economic recession coming because of the Federal Reserve's attempts to control inflation by increasing interest rates.

According to Covington, he is taking a pay cut for this fight versus Gamebred Masvidal because he does not care about the money for this fight. I am shaking my head in skepticism. What will happen to Colby Covington's share of the pay per view if he did not accept it? Everything will go to Masvidal?

Also, does everyone really believe in this feud between Colby and Masvidal? Is Colby really helping Masvidal if his share of the pay per view is going to Masvidal? Head shaking.

UFC welterweight contender Colby Covington was allegedly willing to take a pay cut and give up pay-per-view points to fight at UFC 272.

During his UFC 272 pre-fight media day availability, Covington detailed how personal this fight is for him to the point that money is an afterthought.

“This is just a personal rivalry, this isn’t about the money,” Covington said. “I didn’t come here to fight for money. I took a pay cut, I didn’t care about the money for this fight. This is about settling a blood rivalry, this is a long time coming. This guy’s been holding it off as long as he could until he had no other opportunities. This is the biggest opportunity he can get to pay his alimony, to pay his child support. So of course he’s gotta come and get this losing paycheck.

When further pressed for clarification, Covington doubled down on his financial stance regarding his fight with Masvidal.

“Yeah, I foregoed the pay-per-view, I don’t care about the pay-per-view for this fight. I wanna come put on a show in the UFC and show that I’m deserving of being a lifetime UFC fighter.”

Source https://www.mmanews.com/2022/03/colby-covington-pay-cut/

I buy the rivalry, I mean, it could be fake, but I buy it to a certain extent, there is no reason I wouldn't, people fall out. What I do not buy is Colby taking a pay cut Cheesy He might be spinning it in a way that he asked for more money, they rejected him and now he says he took a pay cut Cheesy So that's like me saying I took a pay cut at work because my boss denied my pay raise that I asked XD

However creating drama and the shouting causes me to be very skeptical because they appear to be overdramatizing this feud. It might be real, however, if they are in the Oscar awards the both of them would also be nominated for best actor hehehe.

Also, I would be much more skeptical of this feud if Jorge Masvidal wins the fight. An Oscar trophy should be the prize for the winner hehehe. The loser gets complimentary oscar for supporting role.
2878  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏆 2022 OSCARS - Nominees, Odds and Predictions! on: March 05, 2022, 05:22:52 AM
I am not certain if the best adapted and original screenplay categories is a minor or a major category, however, after I watched The Licorice Pizza I knew it would be my bet for best screenplay. The odds confirmed it when the sportsbooks began listing it.
You liked Licorice Pizza so much? For me it's one of the weakest movies in the "Best Picture" category and a big disappointment, probably because I usually like Paul Thomas Anderson movies but this one simply didn't sit well with me. My personal favorite among "best original screenplay" (I think its an important category) movies is probably Don't Look Up, even though I think it won't win the award. Overall this year's best original screenplay category is kinda weak.

On Chadwick Boseman, we should also know in what political storyline the academy voters are in the mood for hehehe. The academy members might have wanted to forget the memory of black lives matter and voted for the actor with priest role hehehehe.
Hah yeah, he was favorite purely because of his death and all the "Black Lives Matter" stuff, but it was perfectly clear to everyone that Anthony Hopkins performance was superior. Then again, being the best actor of the year doesn't mean that you will get the Oscar and same thing goes for every other category.

Last night I watched another "Best Picture" nominee, Spielberg's West Side Story. Another big disappointment, no chemistry between main characters at all.  I have no idea how that ended up being nominated in that category, maybe because Steven Spielberg reputation. It's one of those movies that shouldn't have been made at all, since the original West Side Story from 1961 still works. After all, that movie won 10 Oscars back in the day.

I did not like Licorice Pizza so much, however, it quickly made me think of the best original screenplay category when I was watching it. I searched the odds and it confirmed the speculation.

Agreed on the new West Side Story. I thought it would create an impressive production design and costumes but it appears Dune created better hehe.

In any case, if someone asked me to bet from my heart, I want best picture to be Coda, Kenneth Branagh for best director, Ciarán Hinds for best supporting actor, Judi Dench for best supporting actress, Dune for best cinematography, Dune for best original score, Dune for best sound, Spiderman no way home for best visual effects, Coda or Drive my car for best adapted screenplay and Licorice Pizza for best original screenplay. I do not care for the other categories.

I also recommend everyone to watch Drive my car. It might be the underdog of 2022 hehehe.
2879  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: EBAY might accept BITCOIN on: March 05, 2022, 03:06:25 AM
I reckon much of the people's skepticism is directed to the wrong argument. This is not about if Ebay will accept or not accept bitcoin. Ebay will certainly accept it similar to Paypal did. However, the argument should be if Ebay would be issuing their own token or their own NFTs after accepting bitcoin hehehehe. This is a business tactic to enter the cryptospace and take money from it. The skeptical me thinks that they never cared to support it.

Issuing their own token will be the option to take, it may not accept BTC or ETH at all.
It's been discussed several times, there were links above since 2014 but nothing so far had done by eBay to accept BTC. In a recent interview when eBay CEO was asked if they'd be adding BTC and ETH, he just said eBay will be a platform for physical or digital but never mention accepting the currencies.

https://www.fxempire.com/news/article/ebay-could-soon-permit-bitcoin-ethereum-and-altcoin-payments-917077

I disagree. The will accept bitcoin, ethereum, dogecoin or any cryptocoin that will give their acceptance the most attention. Much of the community will larp adoption and use their coins to buy something on Ebay only to show everyone the screenshot in social media. After this, what would Ebay do? Issue a ebaycoin hehehehe. This is becoming similar to much of the ICO projects in the cryptospace where they need to issue a token to protect the project. However, issuance is less of utility, more of attention.

NFL, NFLPA agree to suspend joint COVID-19 protocols

The NFL and the NFL Players Association have agreed to halt all aspects of their joint COVID-19 protocols, effective immediately.

Operations will return to normal following nearly two years of restrictions, the league relayed in a memo on Thursday, obtained by NFL Network's Tom Pelissero.

It is a long-awaited awaited announcement as there will be no more requirements for masks, tracking devices, surveillance testing or capacity limits, unless they are required by state or local laws.

In any case, this is the lastest news from Tom Brady. When will the teams begin trading for players? What is the situation on Jimmy G and Trey Lance? Is Trey Lance ready to be the quarterback?

Now, Brady is adding more fuel to this speculation. The quarterback appeared with Fred Couples on SiriusXM radio and Couples asked him this question: "Maybe you can tell us where you're going?"

To that, Brady gave a labyrinthine answer that does seem to leave the door open a smidge.

"I tell you, I wish I had a clear vision of what the future holds," said Brady, via Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times. "I think for me, there's a lot of great things and a lot of great opportunities that I know I said right after football season. I was looking forward to spending time with my family. And I've done that the last five weeks. And I know there'll be a lot more of that, too.

"So, you know, I like staying busy, that's for sure. I played a little bit of golf and I'm actually gonna see my parents tonight, which will be a real highlight for me on their turf. I'll be sleeping in the same bed I slept at when I was a kid. I don't think my mom knows I'm coming home yet. So it's just between my dad and I, it is a little bit of a surprise. So looking forward to that, looking forward to some golf in the next few days and some more family time, and then we'll figure out where we go from there."
