2881  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: March 04, 2022, 03:29:04 AM
According to Covington, he is taking a pay cut for this fight versus Gamebred Masvidal because he does not care about the money for this fight. I am shaking my head in skepticism. What will happen to Colby Covington's share of the pay per view if he did not accept it? Everything will go to Masvidal?

Also, does everyone really believe in this feud between Colby and Masvidal? Is Colby really helping Masvidal if his share of the pay per view is going to Masvidal? Head shaking.

UFC welterweight contender Colby Covington was allegedly willing to take a pay cut and give up pay-per-view points to fight at UFC 272.

During his UFC 272 pre-fight media day availability, Covington detailed how personal this fight is for him to the point that money is an afterthought.

“This is just a personal rivalry, this isn’t about the money,” Covington said. “I didn’t come here to fight for money. I took a pay cut, I didn’t care about the money for this fight. This is about settling a blood rivalry, this is a long time coming. This guy’s been holding it off as long as he could until he had no other opportunities. This is the biggest opportunity he can get to pay his alimony, to pay his child support. So of course he’s gotta come and get this losing paycheck.

When further pressed for clarification, Covington doubled down on his financial stance regarding his fight with Masvidal.

“Yeah, I foregoed the pay-per-view, I don’t care about the pay-per-view for this fight. I wanna come put on a show in the UFC and show that I’m deserving of being a lifetime UFC fighter.”

2882  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2022-02-26] Putin’s attack triples Ukrainian crypto exchange’s trading volume on: March 04, 2022, 02:32:28 AM
@Kakmakr. Agreed, the Russian hackers and programmers are certainly some of the best in the world. We are witnessing this with Vitalik's invention Ethereum hehehe.

In any case, it also appears that the volume of the Russians who are trading their fiat currency for bitcoins is  increasing in Binance. I predict Binance will stop accepting the ruble not because of political pressure. Binance will stop because the ruble will become completely worthless.

With Russia becoming increasingly closed off to the financial world following its invasion of Ukraine, it appears Russian investors are becoming increasingly active in the cryptocurrency market.

Since Russia staged its invasion, average volumes of ruble pairs on crypto exchange Binance have surged, increasing to an average of $35.8 million per day compared to $11 million per day before the invasion began. The heightened activity represents one of the few places where Russians can move rubles.

2883  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: EBAY might accept BITCOIN on: March 04, 2022, 01:57:22 AM
I reckon much of the people's skepticism is directed to the wrong argument. This is not about if Ebay will accept or not accept bitcoin. Ebay will certainly accept it similar to Paypal did. However, the argument should be if Ebay would be issuing their own token or their own NFTs after accepting bitcoin hehehehe. This is a business tactic to enter the cryptospace and take money from it. The skeptical me thinks that they never cared to support it.
2884  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Errol Spence Jr vs. Yordenis Ugas 3-Belt Welterweight Unification Match on: March 03, 2022, 06:19:58 AM
He will surely prepare and do unusual drills to add up to his stamina. His training camps know that Spence is another tough
opponent and they will do more reviews to study any available leads to have that chance of winning.

In the first place, Ugas won't ask WBA several times if he won't prepared to fight Spence Jr. Since his request was being granted, it's like a big opportunity that comes to him that's why he was expected to be more serious on defeating Spence Jr. as part of his target to unified all the belts at 147lbs.

A tough goal to achieve honestly knowing the strength of Spence Jr. and Terence Crawford but it doesn't mean he will fail surely.

I hope even at the event of him losing the fight, if ever, he will give Spence Jr. a tough fight or much better, if he wins the fight.

You want to stretch your luck and your purse so you will face fighters that will give you big money and legacy fights for Ugas he knows he has a little chance to beat Spence but he wants to take the opportunity while he is the champion, he can give Spence a good fight but I don't think he can beat Spence unless Spence suffer an injury in the course of the fight but a healthy Spence can beat any fighter.

Winning against Manny really open the door for Ugas to fight Spence. If Manny win that fight, it should be Manny vs Spence, but since he won by a big upset, the governing body doesn't have any option but to offer Ugas to Spence. We will how good Ugas is against Spence. He is fighting a prime fighter and the odds doesn't look good for him.

It was Pacman versus Errol Spence already before a doctor discovered that Spence had a torn retina in his right eye which was speculated to have been torned in the fight with Shawn Porter. Also I reckon it would have been useless to organize Pacman versus Errol Spence if Pacman won versus Ugas. Pacman needs a longer time to recover because of his old age. I speculate that it would have been 2 years before he can box again.

2885  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏆 2022 OSCARS - Nominees, Odds and Predictions! on: March 03, 2022, 05:49:52 AM
You got to be a good movie critic to learn who to put your money on. Oscar date is far yet so there maybe time to watch those movies or perhaps just go with whats been talked on celebrity forums and find out of their hints.
Yeah, I think it helps with betting if you watch the nominated movies, but you just have to differentiate what you personally think is the best movie, and which one you would like to win, and sometimes those two are the same thing.

What's also important is to avoid betting on certain Oscar  category if odds are too low. For example, in the last year's Oscar thread I said that 1.08 on Chadwick Boseman winning best actor award is a bad bet. And remember what happened? He lost and Anthony Hopkins won the award, and I must say it was a well deserved win as he was my favorite as well.

Agreed. Watching movies will certainly help you choose your bets for the minor categories. I am not certain if the best adapted and original screenplay categories is a minor or a major category, however, after I watched The Licorice Pizza I knew it would be my bet for best screenplay. The odds confirmed it when the sportsbooks began listing it.

On Chadwick Boseman, we should also know in what political storyline the academy voters are in the mood for hehehe. The academy members might have wanted to forget the memory of black lives matter and voted for the actor with priest role hehehehe.
2886  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Sentiment Poll for March on: March 03, 2022, 04:19:29 AM
Sentiment seems to be jumping all over the place from week to week. There feels like a great deal of uncertainty is in the market right now with people’s predictions changing depending on how Bitcoin moved that day. Right now people are back saying $50K, but a few weeks ago it seemed like $10K was imminent. I’d be scared to buy or sell here, but it does feel to me like we’ve changed directions and it’s up from here. I guess it will remain to be seen if that’s the case or if we’re just witnessing a head fake before the next leg down.

Agreed. However, this is sentiment which is based always on emotion and much of us in bitcointalk.org are emotionally unstable hehehe. This is why I voted I don't know again. This market appears to be under the control of the market makers similar to Alameda Research which I speculate would dump bitcoin during tax season to cause a lower cost basis.
2887  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2022-02-26] Putin’s attack triples Ukrainian crypto exchange’s trading volume on: March 03, 2022, 03:06:28 AM
@o_e_l_e_o. I reckon the small exchange that does not scam their users will certainly become one of the most trusted and also might become one of the big exchanges hehe. Being a big exchange will cause them to have compliance difficulty with regulators, however. A business tactic they can use is split their size into different smaller exchanges. I speculate Nitrogensports is doing this tactic through nitrobetting.eu.
2888  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Who’s who in the gambling subforum? on: March 02, 2022, 03:16:11 AM
@buwaytress. I checked their post history. I trust your suggestions, however, they are not very active in providing information, opinion or share a prediction except for trofo who is in the list already. But I will add them as the gem whisperers hehehe. Experts who are not very active but gives rare gems in the subforum.

@Saint-loup. Agreed on tyKiwanuka. I will add him as another gem whispherer in the gambling subforum.
2889  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: March 02, 2022, 02:37:54 AM
UFC 272 news update. Uncle Dana has chosen Renato Moicano as the replacement for Rafael Fiziev.

This is a good choice, I reckon. Renato Moicano is a good fighter and he had a high ranking in the featherweight division before he lost to Jose Aldo and Chung Sung Jung then going to the lightweight division. Will this fight also be a big opportunity for him to get another high ranking in the lightweight division? The fight will be in 160 catchweight.

UFC 272 has itself a new co-main event, with Renato Moicano being selected as the replacement for Rafael Fiziev in a fight against Rafael dos Anjos in a catchweight bout.

Though both fighters are active in the lightweight division, the fight will be contested at 160 lbs in a catchweight bout.

2890  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Sentiment Poll for March on: March 02, 2022, 01:42:43 AM
@Yaunfitda, @Vaskiy. I shared this in a thread that was locked by the moderators yesterday. It appears everyone speculates that it is the Russians who are panic buying. However, is it ordinary people, business institutions or the government?

I reckon if they buyer is the government of Russia, it might imply that this might be a preparation for a longer war.

Bitcoin once exceeded $44,000 in the past 24, an increase of 15%. Luna risen 23%. But it is rare that U.S. stocks have not seen a similar surge. Market sentiment states that sanctions may lead to a rise in Bitcoin adoption. Rumours about Russian purchases Bitcoin are spreading.

Payments and remittances companies have also begun to stop their services in Russia. If bitcoin is not available what is the next coin that might be available? That might be the next pump hehehehe.

Cross-border payments company Wise and remittance processor Remitly have suspended their money transfer services in Russia, following new sanctions over the weekend against the country in response to its invasion of Ukraine.

2891  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2022-02-26] Putin’s attack triples Ukrainian crypto exchange’s trading volume on: March 02, 2022, 12:05:43 AM
Jesse Powell, the CEO of Kraken, made some good tweets about it: https://nitter.net/jespow/status/1498112741684363265

As he also says though, is that Russian (and Ukrainian, and indeed all) users should be aware that account freezes could be implemented at any time and without warning. You should be withdrawing your coins to your own wallet as soon as possible.

It appears that Jesse Powell might also be admitting that if Kraken was pressured enough into compliance, he would have no other choice but to what was ordered by the regulators. I reckon users from Russia should begin looking for smaller exchanges that are not getting very much attention from news media and the government hehehe.
2892  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Oscar Awards 2022 betting thread on: March 01, 2022, 05:48:38 AM
This is wishful thinking for me to be honest, but it seems that Dune has some chances, and that is quite amazing taking into account that there are at least a couple of movies about it and at least one extraordinary mini-series. I just love science fiction and I think that an Oscar given to a science fiction classic may result in more interest from the Hollywood producers to engage into further production.

I am quite certain that Dune will not have a chance to win the award for best picture. The academy also appears to have ignored Denis Villeneuve as a nominee for best director. However, it might win much of the awards in the minor categories like best visual effects, best film editing, best original score, best production design and in a major category, best cinematography. All of the odds have been presently listed in sportsbet.io and other sportsbooks beginning last week.

2893  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: March 01, 2022, 03:43:04 AM
^  Dunno but that’s the thing...  It’s gonna be our first time seeing Fiziev in a 5 round fight.  And Dos Anjos isn’t a push over at 155.  But we’ll see, I just watched Fiziev’s last match vs Brad Riddell and it looked like he cardio was good.  He didn’t slow down like he did in the past.  So maybe he is ready for 5 rounds.

UFC Free Fight:  Fiziev vs Riddell

^ I’m starting to lean Fiz after watching that.

I’ll watch this one next later after I do some stuff

https://mmacore.tv/videos/Paul_Felder_x_Rafael_Dos_Anjos_Full_Fight_UFC_Fight_Night_182_Part_1/10375434/6zmqwcuT

This will be a sad day for you and for the other fans of the Attaman Rafael Fiziev. The fight has been cancelled because Fiziev appears to be infected with the coronavirus. However, there might be good news hehehe. Islam Makhachev wants to be the replacement fighter. The UFC should give the approval, I reckon. We can be quite certain that Islam has no injuries after the fight vs. Bobby Green.

UFC lightweight contender Islam Makhachev has offered to step up on short notice to fight Rafael dos Anjos at UFC 272.

dos Anjos was supposed to face Rafael Fiziev in the co-main event of UFC 272 before Fiziev recently pulled out due to COVID-19. Makhachev fought and won just days ago against Bobby Green at UFC Vegas 49.

After getting word of Fiziev pulling out, Makhachev is willing to step up and fight dos Anjos at 170 pounds. Makhachev and dos Anjos were supposed to fight on multiple occasions in the past, with both fighters pulling out on different occasions.

In a recent tweet, Makhachev called out Dos Anjos for a fight in the UFC 272 co-headliner.

2894  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: World War III & Bitcoin on: March 01, 2022, 01:12:01 AM
According to Wu Blockchain, this pump was caused by the Russians who might be panic buying bitcoin, assuming that they are doing this to escape sanctions. It is not clear if ordinary users are doing this or business institutions or the government of Russia.

However, this is very concerning because if the major buyer of this pump is the Russian government, does this imply that they are preparing for a long war or a possible world war.

@o_e_l_e_o. I agree especially for those people who are in Russia. It appears the government of Ukraine, through the ministry of digital transformation has formally asked 8 exchanges to freeze the accounts of users from Russia. I am not certain how pressured those exchanges might be, however. I am following the news on this very closely.

Also, the treasury department of the United States has also begun something hehe. I am not quite certain if this is regulation or a campaign against Russian cryptocoin users because how can they enforce this outside of centralized entry and exit points similar to exchanges.

The U.S. government is warning crypto exchanges not to facilitate transactions for individuals and entities newly added to its sanctions list.

The Treasury Department published new regulations banning U.S. persons from providing any support to certain Russian oligarchs and entities as part of an ongoing effort to sanction Russia over its invasion of Ukraine, with the rules taking effect on March 1.

“All property and interests in property that are in the United States, that hereafter come within the United States, or that are or hereafter come within the possession or control of any United States person of the following persons are blocked and may not be transferred, paid, exported, withdrawn, or otherwise dealt in … deceptive or structured transactions or dealings to circumvent any United States sanctions, including through the use of digital currencies or assets or the use of physical assets,” the document said.

2896  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Oscar Awards 2022 betting thread on: February 28, 2022, 02:28:52 AM
@Silberman. Agreed. However, because we know that politics, self interest or social narratives influence how the 9000 members of the academy vote, how do we use this to make our bets? This is why I was asking what are the political and social storylines of 2021?

I speculate if Russia’s attack on Ukraine begun before the Oscar awards’ voting process, I reckon the movie that might have the most votes or with the most attention would be a movie like Belfast. The American movie industry is overflowing with liberals and progresives who use the movies and awards presentations as a medium to deliver their messages and ideas hehehe.

In any case, 1.66 odds for best original screenplay for Licorice Pizza is very good, I reckon.

https://sportsbet.io/sports/event/specials/entertainment/oscar-best-writing-original-screenplay/oscar-best-writing-original-screenplay-62060d3ba4ec5bd31f06ae37

The movie was good, however, not very good. It appeared to be created by artists for artists who lived during the early 1970s in the San Fernando Valley area.

2899  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why NFT might become important in the cryptospace and the world on: February 27, 2022, 03:48:12 AM
Only in game NFTs are useful not all those low quality art NFT that people are buying for thousands of dollars, it's only a matter of time that people will start realising that they waste money on so many NFTs, many of them will die and some will be worthless.

I very much disagree with your reply also. Do you know these Andy Warhol paintings? They are very similar to the style of NFT art, however, they are being bought and sold for millions of American dollars. What Andy Warhol has done was get images of famous people or images of ordinary things and create art out of them.

We might not presently know this yet, however, NFT might be the combination of culture and the cryptospace.

2900  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: February 26, 2022, 06:19:11 AM
I know this is not MMA news but seems EAGLE FC is eying a GSB vs Khabib grappling match. That seems interesting. As for Green vs Makachev, this isn't the best decision Makachev and his team could have made. Yeah, on paper Makachev get's a fairly easy win, but, what if he doesn't? It's still MMA and anything can happen so what if he doesn't? Then he falls so deep back into the division it will make the Kola Superdeep Borehole look like a mole hole.

Who is GSB? Did you mean to type GSP? Yes this will certainly help Eagle FC in marketing and promotion of the organization and also help them increase their fans. However, if Khabib wants to grow his business much more quickly he should offer Conor to be a shareholder in his company as payment to be a fighter for Eagle FC hehehe. This is will be a master level business move by Khabib if Conor agrees.

Oh come on, you know I meant GSP, it was a typo Cheesy And not just GSP, but 'Best life' GSP as he seems to be living his best life after stepping out of fighting. I am certain Conor would take him up if that type of offer came up XD I mean, seriously, without Conor fighting, those two would make a serious business threat if paired, maybe even disrupting the current balance of MMA power (UFC, Bellator, ONE...). And I bet Conor would be totally up to it, KHabib seems to be the problem here.

In other news, dashcam footage of Jon Jones arrest has surfaced, and Chad Mendes seems to be back on the juice, at least that's what Bisping says Smiley

Khabib might not have a problem in making Conor join Eagle FC. There was an interview with Khabib where he said that Conor is the strongest of his rivals in the UFC. You can try find the video in Youtube. Khabib should also include El Cucuy hehehe. This will certainly cause other fighters to join Eagle FC instead of Bellator or One.
