If I had 50Th of my own gear is rent all the time aswell. But ant afford to seeing as my little S3's don't pull in much of a share. I rent from time to time but never see a return on it. Not unless we hit double blocks which is rare these days for some reason.

I get a fair bit of rejected work when I rent. I rent nicehash in Europe and point it to bitminters eu server but still get more than I normally do on my own gear. Must be something to do with what miners are selected and if they keep switching miners to keep you at your Th/s request.
2883  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: 6pin to 6pin with join in the middle. on: March 24, 2016, 03:42:01 PM
Well I joined the cables together 3 positive to 3 positive and 3 ground to 3 ground and my psu wont switch on with it connected. Not sure if its me or the circuit board.

Its got 3xEPS 8 pin, 1x24pin, 2x6Pin, 1x5v 4pin, 16 pairs of screw down terminals, a switch and led, and 5x 270 16v RS419 capacitors on it.

Ive connected the 6pin connector from the peripheral/sata 6pin socket on the psu, to the 6 pin socket on the board, and then run two barrel connectors from the screw down terminals to my two U3's.

Im lost as to why its not working  Huh
2884  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: 6pin to 6pin with join in the middle. on: March 24, 2016, 06:15:22 AM
That is exactly what I was trying to explain  Cheesy  Just couldn't find the right words.

Its not for anything major just a couple of U3's with some bits that Klintay included when I bought an Antrouter. But unfortunately I cant seem to get it to recognise more than one U3. Ive even tried a USB 2.0 and a USB 3.0 hub Sad

I don't know if the U3 is anything like the U2 driver wise but if it is try pulling all the U3s, remove them out of device manager and uninstall the divers.  Then reboot, plug them in and reinstall the drivers.  I've had to do that many times with just 2 U2 on one machine.

Whagt do they show up as in device manager? Would the fact Ive got the Zadig Uart driver still installed from when I ran one on cgminer be a problem?

You may be completely correct. I don't know.

The only thing I see (from my point of view only), is that I have 10 work shifts consisting mostly of 11+% work shares and that slowly falls away to become 10's and 9's.

Well, another block was just found as I was writing this. Congratulations Fefox.

I wish I knew what your settings were Wink

** The BTC block was marked as stale at first. Then it changed to 99 confirmations left. Also, don't see any payouts. Not sure I understand. Oh well, I'm new at this.  Huh

I suppose the block needs more confirmations to be payable. So payout is now pending.

The more hash power the pool has the more shares it has to divide the block by. I only have 2xS3's so my share is 0.0255% so I don't get a lot. But if someone jumps on the pool or switches gear over and suddenly there's another 200-300Th then my share drops down to 0.0187% which is obviously quite a chunk. There will always be fluctuation with share percentage as the pool hashrate is always changing depending on if bitminter is a failover pool for some peoples miners.

In regards to payouts take a look at your translation history on the website it should list exactly what you have received and what has been paid out to your btc address that you should have provided.

Ok so I've got two 6pin extension cables (male one end and female the other) but I need a cable that's got two female ends so I can go from my PSU to a power distribution circuit board that has a 6 pin socket on.

Would I be ok to cut the male ends off and join the cables? If so, can I group all the positives together in an electrical crimp connection and all the grounds in another crimp connection?

So all three positives from one end would come together in the crimp then go back out into there individual wires to the other end of the cable (6pin plug-3 wires--crimp--3 wires,6pin plug)?

OR do I have to crimp connect each individual wire?

Hi guys,

Is there something ive got to enable on the R1 for it to recognise more then 1 U3? Im running them through a Sabrent 4 port Usb 3.0 hub which works fine with one. But when I hook up a second I cant seem to get it to appear on the R1 gui and the hashing light doesn't come on.

Anyone?
2889  Bitcoin / Mining support / 6pin to 6pin with join in the middle. on: March 23, 2016, 12:02:23 PM
Hi guys,

Basically I've got two 6pin extension cables and need one with two of the same type of ends so I thought I could butcher them and join them together.

My question is, can I put all three 12v onto one connector between the two? So it would be 3 into connector then back into 3.

Can I do the same with the ground aswell or would it be better to join them individually?

Thanks.
2890  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: PSU for Antminer S3 on: March 23, 2016, 11:14:04 AM
Im running two S3+ overclocked to 243M and they both run off a Corsair RM1000 PSU. Runs with the standard cables (8pin to 2x 6+2 pin). I know its not advised running the split end cables but ive had no problems so far.

Although not 11% shifts my best shifts (thanks to the rental) have just all disappeared aswell. Back to dust payouts for me  Undecided

Im guessing it would be a safety issue, but why not give you an explanation? Do you know this electrician? If not find another one  Cheesy
2894  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: BITMAIN Antminer S3 support and OverClocking thread on: March 20, 2016, 03:54:30 PM
Buy a new controller board and install that and try again.
2895  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: BITMAIN Antminer S3 support and OverClocking thread on: March 20, 2016, 06:10:34 AM
Sounds like you bricked the first one by putting that double hash crap in there.

Second one a reset should work to gain access to it.
2896  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: BITMAIN Antminer S3 support and OverClocking thread on: March 19, 2016, 08:37:34 PM
Ive got that screen on both my S3+ (yes I know this is the regular S3 thread Wink )and I had it on my old S3 aswell but all of them were blank and have been since I fired them up. They are all overclocked to a degree and run fine and achieve good hashrates.  Smiley
2897  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Antminer s5 Dorm help on: March 19, 2016, 08:20:18 PM
If the miner was set to dhcp then it should be connected. Have you got access to the dorms internet router? or are you able to run an IP scanner to search for it on the network?
2898  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: BITMAIN Antminer S3 support and OverClocking thread on: March 19, 2016, 06:22:42 PM
But does it make any difference on what the PSU is sending to the miner? Have you got a wattage reading device on the plug socket?
2899  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Bitminter bitcoin mining pool - Pays TxFees, Merged Mining, Fair PPLNS rewards on: March 19, 2016, 05:26:05 PM
Well I've rented 5th and spent 0.05BTC on it. It's covered 4 shifts and still got 1day 15houts remaining. Thanks to bguillot I've earns half of that back so far. It's the first time it's ever looked likely to break even or make a profit!  Shocked
