@OP here is another one. The user BitStation keeps posting the below shit in every board lol

I’ve reported loads of low quality posts over the years yet my report accuracy is 95%. I don’t know how it isn’t 100% to be honest, I’m not stupid. I know what a shit post is yet only at 95% accuracy.
Oh well.

2902  Other / Meta / Re: I am flabbergasted that it actually happens on this scale on: April 23, 2018, 08:49:13 AM
I am missing the actual posts. Looks like those posts were deleted (good job, bringing the attention), wish you had an archive.is  Smiley

I bet most of these users are either newbies or Jr. Member or possibly Member. IMO the spamming will reduce dramatically if the campaign managers allow only Full member and above raked users for their signature campaigns.

theymos is trying his best to save this forum from these bounty hunters and I believe he will succeed.

Thank you for all these answers and I am satisfied finding my answers. I will lock the topic now to keep the forum clean.
2905  Other / Meta / Re: [Proposal: prevent account hack] A complete new login system for BitcoinTalk on: April 22, 2018, 08:00:57 PM
Are you saying that new members will need to have a Bitcoin address?

The reason I joined Bitcoin Talk was to find out about Bitcoin, and the best way to use Bitcoin.

There should not be any harm to create a bitcoin wallet and to have a bitcoin address. Now a days information are available anywhere on how to create an online wallet and to have an bitcoin address.

Yes there will be a needing for some tutorials of how to sign a bitcoin address. Again it's not gonna be that hard to find one online.

I didn't have an address at the time.

Calm down mate. No need to be that rude. Why not politely ask for the evidence against the claim. There must be a reason for the pharmacist to be a DT. You are insulting the whole forum DT system by the admin.

Please be careful on your words.
2907  Other / Meta / Re: [Proposal: prevent account hack] A complete new login system for BitcoinTalk on: April 22, 2018, 07:43:05 PM
Then the threads that will be getting created here en masse will be "I lost my Secret Key please reset".

I agree with you however I guess people will take this very seriously because it's a secret key.

>>> For my Ledger neno affiliate login I only have the Secret Key and I know that If I lose it then I am going to lose my entire account and earned BTC in there.
>>> For my Bitcoin wallet I am very careful of saving my 12 word phrase because I know if I lose any of the word then I am going to lose all my stored BTC.

By the way we will still have these kind of people who will even lose their secret key. By default these people are careless, forum won't need them for good (I guess).

There are several two factor options available on the new forum software and I if theymos was going to implement them on this forum he likely would have by now but the current software isn't great for this.

-I hope theymos has in mind of not using an email address to keep us anonymous (those who want to).
2908  Other / Meta / [Proposal: prevent account hack] A complete new login system for BitcoinTalk on: April 22, 2018, 07:25:07 PM
it has been about 6 months since my account was hacked and I sent proof.
Legendary account got hacked - 4 months gone - Admin is Sleeping - Wake Up Admin
Account Hacked - No Response From Theymos/Cyrus - Please tag account

Background
Sadly I see a lot of accounts to get hacked. Poor account holders create alt accounts and try to recover their hacked account with the staked bitcoin address (if they signed one before). Unfortunately, if they do not sign a bitcoin address then they never can recover their lost account. I would like to thank Tomatocage for this great idea of recovering BitcoinTalk account.

The current system for recovering a hacked account is manual. I assume we do not have many mods too so obviously it takes a lot of time to get back a hacked account even if you have a signed message on stake your bitcoin address topic.

I learnt from one of my topic that theymos wanted to give us an experience of being anonymous. But with current registration system, we are asked for a valid email address. The leak of the system is, you can create a BitcoinTalk account with an email address that is not even your own, the system do not verify your given email address. The idea of not verifying the email address is, to keep the user anonymous1.

It is obvious that theymos wanted us to use our Bitcoin address for account registration and maintaining the BitcoinTalk account. May be when theymos (actually satoshi) started the forum that time SMF did not have registration with Bitcoin, login with Bitcoin feature. I doubt if still SMF added this feature.

I guess improving the registration system and login system will help us to avoid the unfortunate account hack issue of the members. This will also automate the entire account recovery system or may be we won't even need an account recovery feature.

The proposal
I have two proposals. Let me be very quick on describing them.

Proposal One Inspired from ledger neno affiliate signup and login page

Registration process input fields

Click here if unable to see image

Instead of the email address field ask for the username.

Once the user submit the data then give the user a Secret Key (system generated) and advice the user to keep the Secret Key safe. Because for login they will use this secret key. It's like losing your 12 phrase of your bitcoin wallet. There will be no need for account recovery.

Login input field

Proposal Two Inspired from a-ads affiliate signup and login page

Registration process input fields will be only your Bitcoin address.
Additionally the registration page can ask for a username.

Login input field

Click here if unable to see image

At the time of login always ask for signing a message in the Bitcoin address that was used for registration and authenticate that message for login. Again there will be no need for an account recovery.

Limitation
Applying first proposal will be difficult (not impossible) in my opinion because every existing user will need the secret key which we do not have now. It is easier when a system starts from the initial stage.

Proposal two is really possible to add with our existing system. Give enough time (may be 6 months or a year, really a long time) to the current users to add their Bitcoin address with the system. Those who are regular they will do it easily and those who are not regular and discover it after the new login and registration system will be implemented, they can use the stake your bitcoin topic and use their staked BTC address to recover their lost account manually. Keep the stay logged in feature so that the users won't need to go though the sign a message process every time to login with BitcoinTalk.

Conclusion
If we can adopt with any of the above proposed registration and login process then account hacking will dramatically drop (may be zero) also the mods will not have an extra load of manually recovering hacked account or lost account.

PS: Apology for my messed up formatting

1 Does this mean when we create a blockchain.info wallet, we are not actually anonymous? They verify our email address.

2910  Other / Meta / Re: "YOU CANNOT MERIT THIS POST" on: April 22, 2018, 11:53:05 AM
My sincere apologies if I somehow missed the answer to my question somewhere along the way.  I came down with the flu when Theymos rolled out the merit system, and most of what I read for the first week of it was in a feverish daze.

I was just attempting to merit a really old post in this thread, because I really liked one of AfricanHunter's responses--and yes, I'm fully aware that it's a wasted merit.  You don't see this level of literacy much on bitcointalk anymore.

The message I got was "YOU CANNOT MERIT THIS POST".  So can someone clue me in as to whether we're not able to merit posts based on how old they are?  I assume that's the reason for the rejection.  The thread is from 2012.

Man, those old threads are some great reading.

Mate there are no such statement anywhere that you can not merit an old post so technically you can merit to anything if you want.

Personally I prefer to merit a post which is recent. Every single day a lot of members are really creating good contents.  Since merit thing is directly connected to ranking up so back in my mind I always want to make my sMerits useful for others both for ranking up and giving credit to a post.
2911  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Looking for investment managers on: April 22, 2018, 11:44:51 AM
I believe you are Igor Chekun (clue the username), the CEO, Founder. From the position you are in, I expected more professional approach from you, not just a one line statement.

Anyway, looks like you need someone who can do PR/marketing consultancy/marketing planning or even a manager for entire marketing section for your project. I will leave my linkedIn here for you to have a look. I will not bother to look at your project for now until you show any interest on me after looking on my linkedIn page. I can assure you my marketing skill. Send me a formal request on my linkedIn with the reference of this conversation, I will share my resume with you if needed.

Best of luck with the project.
2912  Other / Off-topic / Re: Question regarding common forum softwares but especially smf on: April 22, 2018, 11:34:28 AM
is it possible to create a forum where people can either do a social login

or a login with accounts from other smf?

I can not tell you smf but from common sense I can say if two forum located in two different server then I do not think it will really help. I guess for login authentication you need to communicate with browser's session variable. Same session variable is not gonna work for different server IMO.

It is completely possible to add social login feature for any forum even with smf. If smf currently do not have such feature then all you need to do is hire a developer who can do the job.

Hello,

We are https://cryptocube.exchange, a small exchange located in Romania.

Romanian banks cartel are closing every account owned by local cryptocurrency exchanges, thus leaving us without any option to operate. We don't want the project to die so we are looking into partners to continue the project in a different country. We have all that is needs: developers, graphic designer, marketing, we need just a normal country where accounts are not closed without reason.

DM for more details.

Hi, how about if you are open to move the business in England. I can help you. I will send you my email contact with other info in you DM. Email me details.

Edit:
Ok, here is the issue. Since you are a newbie so I can not PM/DM you.

I leave you my LinkedIn here. I have existing company in England. I can help you however I have to know accounts and other legal details currently you have.  I will also would like to know my financial benefits if we can agree upon a contact.
PS: Feel free to share your email so that we can communicate privately.
2914  Other / Meta / Re: Giving 50 merits was legit or ALT? Need your thoughts on: April 22, 2018, 10:56:35 AM
why can, he already has 50 merit but rank still Jr.Member?
is this a cheating? or system failure?
the first time I've also seen not even 50 merits, but 100 merit as I recall

The reason is the user still does not have enough activity to rank up. It's only 50 now. To become a member you need 60 activities.

You missed reading this...
The required scores are:

PS: I see you are lacking the basic info of the forum. I hope you would not mind to read the first 6 sticky posts of meta board (Click here). It really will help you a lot to understand the forum and will solve a lot of any other possible question that you have in your mind related to the forum.
2915  Other / Meta / Any technical error for BitcoinTalk is down only for me? on: April 22, 2018, 10:49:52 AM
My local time around 16:35 (GMT+6), BitcoinTalk from my side was offline (error: 502, ray id and etc in on the screenshot).
I checked with "Down for everyone or me" but it said the site is up. I am wondring what could possibly go wrong that only I was offline.

PS: This is first time I have taken an initiative to record the error. Before I when the site was offline for me, I actually did not bother to take a note or bothered to valid if it was only me.
2916  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [Idea] Online Photo Coffee Book DIY software - Pay with Bitcoin on: April 22, 2018, 10:43:16 AM
Not sure if there are any website exists that has such function. I would suggest a google search with keywords like "good coffee books from photos" etc.

I am having a thought if you are looking for something like snapefish?
2917  Other / Meta / Re: My account got hacked on: April 22, 2018, 10:15:29 AM
Seems like the Ethereum address is yours and verified successfully however unfortunately, the spreadsheet does not contain the Ethereum address.

Even if the, the spreadsheet would contain the Ethereum address still, I am do not think you could recover the account since it requires singed btc address to prove that you are the account owner of any account. May be any extensive initiative could help, just may be.

PS: Try your best with the last hope you have. From the hacked account post history, try to find the post where you have posted the ETH address (if you did ever). Take an archive.is reference so that if even the hacker change the topic, still you can have the prove. Then update this thread or try any other possible way to recover your account.

Good luck.

2920  Other / Meta / Re: Giving 50 merits was legit or ALT? Need your thoughts on: April 21, 2018, 08:31:20 PM
Maybe this is time to introduce a "report possible merit abuse" on each profile merit's section, so you can just report this kind of activities to mods. It is incredible how many people are abusing of the merit system, I've seen many many cases of people receiving merits from other accounts, 20 each time, by post of the type "I love eating sandwiches" (not literally, but you get my point).
The merit abuse is happening every day, and to report each case in a new thread can be exhausting and difficult to organize. Just this bottom and I truly believe it is going to mean a great change, for the merit abusers will be immediately detected, and can be investigated by mods.

I like this idea. The ultimate punishment may be a permanent ban. This way the abusers will have fear to abuse the merit system.

The merit system were introduced without any prior notice. Once merit system introduced on the last January 25th we have seem members (even DT members, it was not their fault) were sending merits to each others just to see how the system works. This way a lot of merits were wasted but the people who got merited in that period they still having the benefit (helping on ranking).

IMO before adding "report to possible merit abuser" if possible then reset the entire merits to the initial setting and start over again. Or may be just start over the entire merit system again without even adding any new feature like you suggested.

Members are now more familiar with the entire merit system so there will be less mistakes (may be a very small percentage) if we start over again.
