2901  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2020-03-30] Apple is rumored to announce support for Bitcoin payments on: April 04, 2022, 03:31:08 AM
There was a picture that Jack Mallers shared in social media where he was in front of the Chase Manhattan bank wearing a baseball cap with the word apple. I reckon it was only to honor Steve Jobs where he also had his picture taken in front of IBM headquarters. I thought it was only a joke.
2902  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: GGG vs Murata - Reschedule on: April 03, 2022, 02:31:00 AM
@milewilda. Similar to what I have said in the other thread about boxing predictions, Murata might be very underestimated for this fight. The fight will be in Japan where Murata is the hero, GGG will be 40 years old on the day of the fight, Murata is only 36 years old with a 2 inch reach advantage. Also, all of Murata's losses he challenged those boxers again and won them each with a knockout. Would you bet GGG with very small odds?

That's true that Murata has the reach advantage, it's more like of an almost 5 inches reach advantage because it was a 12 centimeter gap. However, I don't agree in that particular statement that Murata's age is also an advantage compared to the 4 year older GGG at the day of the fight because that is just a short span and it's not that Murata have experienced and fathom GGG's ring IQ and experience when he was also 36 years old.

However, would you bet on GGG with very small odds and with this presenty old GGG who has some disadvantages against him? The fight also being in Japan is making me speculate that the referee and the judges will be in the yakuza's payroll hehehe. I would not be shocked if this fight ends in an upset split decision and Murata the winner.

If GGG wants to win, this fight should not reach the judges' scorecards, he has to beat Murata by knocking him out.
GGG has 36 KOs from 41 fights, I'm sure he can beat Murata by KO.

So if you want better odds, just guess which round GGG would stop the fight, or bet on ranges every 3 rounds.
I have a feeling 1-3 rounds gives better odds.

GGG winning by a knockout against Murata is not impossible, actually given his stats/record, the chances of GGG getting a KO is high and I don't doubt him at all that he can still do it this time around. Aside from that, he really needs to end this fight with an explosive finishing punch to attract more attention and put an end to the people who are doubting at his capabilities.

Aside from the tasty odds, can GGG really stop it between round 1-3? My best guess would be 5-7.

This fight might go to the decision, I reckon. However, the sportsbooks have not yet offered any odds for rounds betting, fight ending and round ranges. My only hope for this one is the sportsbooks are thinking something similar as much of the fans and speculate GGG will knockout Murata hehehe. This fight being in Japan is already head shaking.
2903  Economy / Speculation / Re: Terra cofounder Do Kwon is the one who is pumping Bitcoin on: April 03, 2022, 01:58:01 AM
Very strange that for the past 2 days he hasn’t bought anything. Checking that ETH wallet and it still contains $450M or so.

Lately with him and Saylor buying more Bitcoin with his $200M that he borrowed using Bitcoin as collateral, seems lots of buys happening last and this week.

I think we will hit $50K this week and hope that the rally isn’t short lived when he is out of funds to buy.

Do Kwon might not pump bitcoin today. According to this tweet he will only be listening to music hehe.

https://mobile.twitter.com/stablekwon/status/1510425541404692485?s=12

However, he also tweeted this yesterday. He might be waiting for the price to dump first before he begins buying. I speculate bitcoin to be more than $50k by the end of this week.

https://mobile.twitter.com/stablekwon/status/1510192448450211843?s=12

Also, Saylor always buys on the top of the pump hehehe. Someone shared a chart with Saylor's tweets and after every declaration of a buy, bitcoin dumped. He should certainly fire his trader.

The law will affect exchanges and non-custodial wallets, such as metamask, ledger and trezor, as I explained.
So this mean you aren't even allowed to hold your Crypto on a Ledger/Trezor?

No, it means that if you hold your crypto on a Ledger, Trezor or any other non-custodial wallet, you will have to provide information about a receiver when you are sending your crypto. The same will probably be when holding your crypto on an exchange.

But how will they know who owns each address? There is no mention about mandatory KYC procedure for people who holds crypto on a non-custodial wallets. If there won't be a KYC, how will they know who are the owners? And if they don't know who is the sender, how will they punish him for providing false information about a person they are sending crypto.
Damn, can't we just say we are sending money from one wallet of ours to other? They won't know shit TBH.

Agreed hehehe. The problem with this is those people creating the laws do not or have not thought on how to enforce them. This will be a complicated problem and the paperwork for this would be enough for them to give up on many cases. It will be a problem for the users only during the beginning, however, similar to many other laws they cannot be enforced to the fullest extent. There will still be users who will still enjoy their privacy in the cryptospace.

@Kakmakr. They might have learned that they should not brag about their seizures of large amounts of cryptocoins hehehe.

In any case, the article also mentioned that the DOJ has indicted Big Vern on January. He might have made  a deal with the DOJ in exchange for the private keys of the address containing the stolen coins. Also, those coins were split to hundreds of addresses which makes me speculate that they might not be put on auction.

2907  Economy / Gambling / Re: Would you support a collective boycott of all Russian gambling platforms? on: April 02, 2022, 06:56:21 AM
@Marvelman. It appears that you created this thread as an attack on 1xbit only because the owners are Russian? The site is considered a scam in this forum because they might have been reports of selective scamming on their own users similar to what HitBTC has done. However, to boycott because they are Russian should not be supported. There are many peace loving Russians who do not support what Putin has done to Ukraine.
I don't think he only attacks 1xbit literally though He mentioned the name above but he is also asking of other Russian owned gambling site in which maybe he has no idea so he cannot put in OP.

And also he ahs no rights to attack specific gambling site as His Own gambling site in Signature is facing problem now as there is a accusation against them

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5391828.0

But we are supporting this act for the benefits of Ukraine and World peace .

That makes it a worse argument. How is the fault of Putin and the Russian government also the fault of an innocent Russian gambling site owner who might be against the war? If we see an old Russian lady selling fruit on the sidewalk, should she also be banned from selling fruit? I shake my head at his proposal.
2908  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / CME Group 'Looking At' Offering Solana, Cardano Futures on: April 02, 2022, 05:20:13 AM
The CME offering derivatives for Solana and Cardano would certainly increase the legitimacy of the markets for these coins, I reckon. For mainstream institutional investors, their choices are only Bitcoin and Ethereum because the volume of their investments needs higher liquidity that no other cryptocoin derivatives can offer. The CME might change this for Solana and Cardano. However, why not offer Binance smartchain also? Solana experienced downtime and it might not be reliable. Cardano is unusable.

King of Solana whales. Sam Bankman-Fried, CEO of FTX

Solana (SOL) and Cardano (ADA) might soon have futures contracts available on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, a CME Group executive said earlier this week.

Payal Shah, the director of equity and cryptocurrency products at CME, spoke at CryptoCompare’s Digital Asset Summit in London.

"We’re looking at it,” she said when asked if CME was considering offering futures and other derivative products for altcoins. “We get a number of client requests for anything outside the top two—Solana, Cardano.”

2909  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2022-03-28] Grayscale Threatens Legal Action if SEC Rejects Bitcoin ETF bid on: April 02, 2022, 04:27:59 AM
They could certainly argue it is arbitrary and capricious and certainly if the SEC didn't have a valid reason a court could impose a remedy.  Given the political nature of the left-leaning judges, much would depend on the judge that hears the case initially and then which group of circuit court judges hears the appeal, unless it was en banc.

Iirc SEC has already rejected ETFs for the reason that Bitcoin market is not mature enough, telling that the price fluctuates too much and the exchanges are showing overly inflated fake volumes.
And while I don't like to hear it, they're right about that. On the other hand, is that a good enough reason for rejecting the ETF? That may be a lottery game with the only winners being the lawyers paid big for the lawsuit.

I reckon that it might be Gary Gensler who does not want a bitcoin ETF for whatever reason. I speculate that it is not because of the market not being mature enough or the assumptions of market manipulation. It might be that there are people who are behind the SEC who do not want bitcoin to reach a certain level of public acceptance.

@Rikafip. This thread has gotten more attention after the Oscar awards presentation than before this when we were talking about the movies and which might be the best bets hehehe. I reckon it might be the correct time lock the thread.

For me that looks staged and the same time not. I mean the joke on Jada was the worst part of it, but it's just so unprofessional for Will to resort with violence in front of national TV smh.

It was not staged. Will Smith made a public apology through social media and the Academy of motion picture arts and sciences is considering removing Will Smith from being this year's best actor.
2913  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Binance worth more than sum of European banks? on: April 01, 2022, 02:38:26 AM
@Lucius. Hehehe asking exchanges to reduce the withdrawal fee might be similar to asking the rich billionaires from Saudi Arabia to reduce oil prices by 30% also. Also, I was only arguing that Su Zhu might know more than us. I agree that he might be lying, however, I am certain that he has sources on private information.

In any case, did CZ also buy shares of Fortune magazine? This is the latest cover. It also appears that much of the bitcoin news media has overestimated his networth by $20 billion hehehe.

"NFL approves OT rules tweak for playoffs only"
source: https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/33622482/teams-assured-possession-playoff-rules-change

Quote
NFL owners approved a modified proposal for overtime Tuesday that will guarantee each team a possession, but only in the postseason.

The rule for regular-season games, which allows the team with the first possession to win if it scores a touchdown, will remain unchanged.

Bills would've scored... Grin

Agreed, this is a very good change! The NFL should not leave the teams their playoff season being left on the luck of a coin toss. It might also be good for the regular season if they also change it. I think something similar also happened to the Chargers versus the Raiders.

The Buccanners head coach retires, he will be replaced by Todd Bowles. Will Bowles be a good head coach? What do you NFL experts say? Also, what will this do to Tom Brady?

Bruce Arians surprised the NFL world on Wednesday night when he announced his retirement.

Arians is moving into the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ front office as a senior football consultant, and will be replaced by defensive coordinator Todd Bowles.

Naturally, the announcement drew plenty of reaction from the NFL world on social media — both congratulating Arians on his retirement and praising Bowles, who will get his second shot as a head coach in the league after his first stint with the New York Jets.

2915  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: March 31, 2022, 06:43:42 AM
@Distinctin. The promoters might give GGG his trilogy against Canelo only if he gets the victory versus Murata dominantly and convincingly. I am quite certain Canelo will not agree with GGG on anything if GGG wins with a close decision against the Japanese fighter. I reckon it might be a close decision because GGG is old. He will be 40 years old on the day of the fight. Murata is also taller with a reach advantage of 2 inches and he is also younger. The fight will also be in Japan. I will not be shocked if the corrupt judges will give this a split decision for Murata.
2916  Economy / Speculation / Re: Terra cofounder Do Kwon is the one who is pumping Bitcoin on: March 31, 2022, 05:13:46 AM
crypto winter is over

A drop from 69k to 33k is not really crypto winter. It's more like those winters the temperature barely go below 0C and it's not snowing Wink
For comparison, the previous crypto winter was at a 6x price drop (or more).
But yes, as headline it looks catchy.

My point is that there's still plenty of room for an actual crypto winter to come, although I do hope it won't come this time.

Another catchier headline might be this bet by Do Kwon against a whale that they agreed for $10 million from each person. This bet was only after a similar bet done against another whale for $1 million from each. Do Kwon made a total bet of $11 million on the price of Terra's token called Luna to not be under $88.00 after 1 year.

Terraform Labs CEO Do Kwon has finalised a bet with a crypto personality known as GCR, or Gigantic Rebirth, to the tune of $10 million over the future price of Terra (LUNA).

Both parties have now sent $10 million in stablecoins (USDT for Kwon and USDC for GCR) to an escrow account, which is simply an Ethereum wallet owned by a veteran crypto trader known as Cobie.

Do Kwon also joked about asking for a short sell before sending $139,450,000 in USDT to Binance 1 day after hehe. It appears the pump will continue.

I am once again asking you to short #btc

2917  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2022-03-28] Grayscale Threatens Legal Action if SEC Rejects Bitcoin ETF bid on: March 31, 2022, 04:25:14 AM
Grayscale is not ruling out seeking legal action against the Securities and Exchange Commission if the agency continues to prohibit the launch of a spot cryptocurrency ETF, CEO Michael Sonnenshein said.

While it sounds interesting (and maybe intriguing), it means nothing.
You know, "verba volant"; it's just words. It can be seen as a "political" declaration. I read it like: if SEC denies the ETF, Grayscale may or may not fill legal action Cheesy

However, it can indicate a certain amount of the pressure (which SEC may or may not take into account).
Just until July (did I understand right, is it so late?) everybody would have forgotten these declarations.

I am also skeptical like you, unless Grayscale's lawyers found something under the rules that they might use to force an approval of the conversion. However, yes, this might only be a desperation effort for public support. Let us wait for July 6 if the decision will cause a pump or a dump hehehehehe. We cannot be certain what the market might be on July, however. The market does not pump 100% of the time on good news.
2918  Bitcoin / Press / [2022-03-30] $540 Million of Bitcoins from 2014 Possibly Linked to Cryptsy Theft on: March 31, 2022, 03:32:33 AM
This is another head shaking development on another theft from another old exchange. Similar to the news on the American government's recovery of the coins from the hack of Bitfinex, it also appears that the coins stolen from Cryptsy on 2014 to 2015 might also be in the hands of the American government. This is only speculation.

I am not certain if the American government holds those coins, however, if they do, will the American government auction these coins similar to what they have done before or will they send them to mixers to hide them and later dump them? I speculate through the movement of these Cryptsy bitcoins, it appears it might be for dumping.

A whole lot of bitcoin stemming from wallets created in 2014 moved on Tuesday and the funds may be tied to the Cryptsy theft. The now-defunct cryptocurrency exchange led by Paul Vernon lost millions of dollars worth of digital assets years ago at the end of 2015.

More recently at the end of January 2022, the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) announced it had indicted Vernon for allegedly stealing over $1 million from digital currency wallets. The DOJ said Vernon, otherwise known as ‘Big Vern,’ stole from accounts between May 2013 and May 2015 and proceeded to deposit the stolen funds into his own bank account.

The funds that moved on March 29, 2022, derive from BTC wallets that were created on July 29, 2014. All 11,325 bitcoin were processed at block height 729,587, and the action was caught by Btcparser.com, and Whale Alert. “The massive amount of activated dormant [bitcoin] in the previous posts are possibly linked to the Cryptsy hack/theft,” Whale Alert tweeted on Tuesday. Onchain analysis further shows the 11,325 bitcoin may have originated from Cryptsy, according to clustering from oxt.me data as well.

The stash of bitcoin sat idle for more than seven years, and some people suspect the crypto may be in the hands of the U.S. government. The speculation derives from the recent Bitfinex hack coins that moved this year, coupled with the coincidental and recent DOJ indictment of ‘Big Vern.’ However, unlike the Bitfinex hack coins that consolidated into a single address, the transfers processed at block height 729,587 were sent to a wide range of addresses.

2919  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: March 30, 2022, 04:10:45 AM
You mean prime Canelo? Yes, you have a point. Well, if that happens then it's quite clear that GGG doesn't stand a chance to defeat the current Canelo as he don't got what it takes anymore. So a trilogy will be nonsense to even bother make it happen.

Canelo is just 31 years old so we can take that factor that he's on prime. It's an advantage over a 40-year-old GGG. If Murata will defeat GGG, non-sense to fight now with Canelo if he can't handle the types of Murata, how can he defeat Canelo which is currently powerful at this stage?

GGG will be tested by Murata. It can also be considered as his training before facing the stronger Canelo.

We all like to see the trilogy. GGG has to pass Murata if he really likes the third fight with Canelo.

Agreed. It is also head shaking that boxing fans want to witness a trilogy for Canelo and GGG. This Canelo of today would knockout the GGG of today in 7 rounds that everyone might say that it was unfair for the promoters to give GGG to Canelo hehehe. Compare the improvements of each boxer and decide. I reckon it is Canelo who has been challenging himself for his legacy.
He has accomplished a lot already and could surpassed Julio Cezar Chaver Sr as the greatest Mexican boxers of all time. He already set the bar high, with his 5 belt and the first Mexican to do so. And then he has a tons of followers as well. For his legacy, this will be the ultimate, to close the book on GGG and win in this trilogy.

However, would the trilogy be good for Canelo? What would this offer him? I reckon if GGG wins one of the other championships in light heavyweight division, this might tempt Canelo to fight him again. If GGG has nothing to offer except the past, Canelo will not fight anyone after Bivol except the other champions in light heavyweight division to secure his legacy. He is 31 years old, he will not waste his time on GGG.
2920  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [BOXING] George Kambosos vs Devin Haney - Undisputed Lightweight Title - June 5 on: March 30, 2022, 03:27:08 AM
@Kemarit. However, I speculate that @bisdak or @Boafeng might be surprised on why George Kambosos is the favorite considering that Teofimo Lopez jr. is the only big name in his record. There were speculations that Lopez had problems in his preparation against Kambosos. Also, Haney might be very fast for Kambosos and Haney would not have a similar style like Lopez where he will fight power with his own power. Haney might take this to 12 rounds and win with a unanimous decision.
