2901  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: Kanos Antminer Updates gone? on: March 18, 2016, 08:20:49 PM
kano, ive flashed new bitmain firmware to my new (to me) s3+ in an attempt to bring the HW% down from 0.225% and I want to flash you update over the top but when I putty in it and type in the wget command line, it returns with "server returned error HTTP/1.1 404 not found".

Is this something ive done wrong or something to do with where the updates are stored?

Thanks for you help in advance  Smiley

Edit:-   I didn't put the capital "A & S" in AntS3. Blimey ssh can be a touchy mistress  Roll Eyes Cheesy
2902  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S3+ Discussion and Support Thread on: March 18, 2016, 06:16:57 PM
Mike,  yea I ssh into it this morning and checked and both read 4.9.2 even though the gui says ones at 4.0.6 and the other is 3.8 something.

I'll risk updating the one that says 3.8something and then do kanos update again to see if it improves.

2904  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S3+ Discussion and Support Thread on: March 18, 2016, 10:54:38 AM
So I've just got to ignore the HW% and readings then. I suppose on the pool side nothing has changed in regards to rejected work but it's still annoying that the new one reads 0.25%hw and the one with other reads 0.002%hw. Obviously I just want to maximise my share on the pool. Would this be a factor on the hashrate the pool receives?
2905  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S3+ Discussion and Support Thread on: March 18, 2016, 08:55:55 AM
version you will see 4.9.0

Just shipped my last sold S3+ with Kano's cgminer update so I can't see it on my own but if I remember correct it should be the latest version 4.9.2 working after the upgrade?

I did check them this morning before work and both showed 4.9.2.  But that still doesn't explain the high HW% compared to the other one.
2906  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S3+ Discussion and Support Thread on: March 17, 2016, 10:01:22 PM
I've done kanos updates on both machines yet they both still show the cgminer versions I've mentioned previously in the software section.

Plus why are the HW%'s so different? They have been running about the same time since I turned them both on after booking up the new(second hand) s3+.
2907  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S3+ Discussion and Support Thread on: March 17, 2016, 08:56:04 PM
Why don't you want to use the latest one ?

https://enshop.bitmain.com/files/download/antMiner_S320150109.bin

It has all the fixes, I can't see the point of upgrading to a known bad version...

You could even use Kano's version...

Ive already updated to kanos version but it didn't change the cgminer. The New(second hand) s3+ ive just hooked up is showing a 0.2235% HW, but the S3+ I have that's running 4.6.1 and kanos update has a rate of 0.001%HW.

That's the only difference so thought updating to the firmware with 4.6.1 would be beneficial.

Is the firmware update ive listed definitely a bad one that bricks miners?

2908  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S3+ Discussion and Support Thread on: March 17, 2016, 08:43:04 PM
Hi guys,

If I were to update the firmware so that my S3+ runs cgminer 4.6.1 rather than the 3.12.0 it currently has how would I do it?

Ive downloaded bitmains update :-

antMiner_S320141013.bin

which isn't the newest one but the one with the cgminer update and ive read the manual and it says to use the "flash new image" section to do it. Is that correct?

2909  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BITMAIN AntRouter R1: 1st wireless networking device with bitcoin mining chip on: March 17, 2016, 06:24:29 PM
On a different note, ive changed the settings for the R1 and it doesn't seem to make any difference when I change the freq. Volts is set at 0725 which is what it was after I did the update. But I put the freq upto 125M but it still hashes at 5.2ghs.

Anyone have any ideas?
Why are you using 125?  I know the chips technically support that freq, but really 225 is the lowest the U3 really operates at.  Basically the valid U3 frequencies are 225, 237.5, 243.75, 250.

0725 is less than stock voltage setting, 0750 is stock I believe and I don't think the U3 likes to go lower.  0800v/250freq is what a lot of people ran their U3 at to get 60+GH out of it, mine ran at 58GH at 0785/237.5 so that's what I used.  Your mileage may vary.

That's the settings for the R1 NOT the U3  Wink

My U3 is currently set at 0800/250m  Grin

Edit:-  just checked on the u3 and r1 and the u3 had zombied. I thought this was fixed with crazy guys update?
I think in the time I was running a U3 off the R1 with crazyguy patch I had to manually restart it a couple times, still.  But the thing was I wasn't having to restart it every day or multiple times per day.  I think there are still issues with the U3 that not even crazyguy's magic patch can take care off, but I would not recommend anyone use a U3 without it.

That's fair enough I suppose. Cant have it perfect every time lol

Thanks guys, I went through the thread and found a few different post from Rich about voltages and frequencies etc. Also saw the disassembled r1 and still amazed you got it running that high  Cheesy

I'm tempted to use the guy interface and crank her up but may purchase some self ashesive heatsink a for the case first  Wink

2913  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BITMAIN AntRouter R1: 1st wireless networking device with bitcoin mining chip on: March 16, 2016, 09:51:13 PM
Cheers Mike. I totally get where you're coming from in regards to 5 or 8gh as it makes no difference at all really, but I bought it as a toy to play about with so may aswell see what it can do. I didn't realise it had already been covered in the thread I must have missed it.

Thanks for the info about the u3. I'll have a play about with the settings and see what I can do. Current one I have seems to like 247 and 820 lol.
2914  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BITMAIN AntRouter R1: 1st wireless networking device with bitcoin mining chip on: March 16, 2016, 09:03:43 PM
So I received my antrouter today from eyeboot.com (klintay on the forum) and got to set up with crazy guys update. Now im curious about whos changed the chip settings of the R1 to get the most out of it safely. What settings have you got?

Also when changing the U3 settings does the voltage auto adjust or do you have to manually enter a voltage when you change the freq?

Thanks in advance.

I've been trading with Sardasa since the beginning of the year. I've been buying btc and sending him PayPal. He's a good bloke and always carries out his deal, even when the transaction was delayed (once) he showed proof of the btc being sent then followed up with the transaction in the Blockchain. Top guy, and I continue to deal with him.
