It looks like I would start out there with only 250 TH/s at present.
Only 250TH... only?! That's 1000x my hashing power.

You would be lucky to get $50 for an S1 in my opinion. I see them going for $20, and then the rest of the price would most likely come from the shipping of the actual unit. Most people will not buy a large lot of S1's. Another large problem is actually finding people to buy your miners.
I paid $19 for my S1, plus about that again in shipping. I would not pay more.

Really don't see the point when you can already tip members with their profile's btc address (assuming they've got one).
Not against it either, good if there was an option to hide Changetip if implemented. At the very least it would give people a choice.
I think the problem is that some people want an user-friendly system, like changetip (this is the unique reason valid). What is un-user friendly about copy/pasting someone's BTC address into your wallet and sending them a tip? I think ChangeTip is great for Twitter and the like, but totally unnecessary here.

These are S3+ upgrades, not S3++. I don't know what the difference in specs is, however.
Thinking about it, though, for $100 for that upgrade kit I could just buy a separate S3, then have both the S1 and S3 running. Or buy an S3 and sell the S1 for $10-$15...
my bad just noticed there was a new S3 ++ didn't notice the extra + .. sorry etc etc . the way it looks only diff i see is power at the wall 265w i think read some place over what 355w at normal speed. Yea, but why buy an upgrade kit and go through the trouble of swapping boards and stuff if you could spend the same money and get a complete S3 and then sell the old S1? What am I missing here that makes upgrading seem like it's worth it? Any why are there no S1 -> S5 upgrades, don't they use the same case set-up?

HI ALL!
What is the explanation about rising btc ?
Because it's good for me but I don't understand why ...
Thanks for future answer!
Take Care all
Here you go, Fortune just published an article about the climb over $300 yesterday: http://fortune.com/2015/03/11/march-10-bitcoin/

S3++s don't work internationally because they're low density units, making shipping costs just silly. People already go crazy about S5 shipping costs, imagine it 2x worse.
Perfect opportunity to sell S3++ upgrade boards for all those old S1s out there, gathering dust. Just the boards would be cost effective to ship globally.

I clicked a few of the houses at that link, every single one I clicked has the words "natural gas" and "well" in its description, but not a single one had a "natural gas well". So I ask again, show me a picture of one. I've driven across the US twice, I've been to a lot of places in this country, and never once seen a house with its own natural gas well.

If you could make money by posting and asking how to make money there would be a lot of rich people around here.

I'm seeing reference to a S3++. Would this be an air cooled C1? Heat a problem?
The C1 is a liquid cooled S4 variant, different line.

S3++ would make a good case for bitmain to consider shipping just boards .... even upgrade kits for the S1 doorstops still out there!
This would be a dream come true!

Does someone knows if a static IP address is required for participation or it will work with a dynamic IP address?
The PIX value documented in https://getaddr.bitnodes.io/nodes/leaderboard/#peer-index considers weekly latency as well. If you are behind dynamic IP, you may not stay on the same IP for a week hence limiting the PIX value that your node can reach. My IP address changes every 6 months or so, or whenever router is off for at least 2 hours, I think I'll give this a try, I'll have to set up something to warn me if IP address change, any ideas on this? Bitnode sends out emails when your node goes up or comes down once you register an email address. If you get an email saying your node is down, but you have internet connectivity, then check if your IP address has changed.

Hello Bitmain. Do you have any estimation on when an S6 will be available (if made), and the time frame?
I imagine it will be made available for sale sometime in the near future at $949 1 hour later price changed to $995 1 hour later price changed to $1199 1 hour later price changed to $1299. This just in, due to a phone call they received and some clouds in the sky, price will be $1699.

Agreed. I'm making a formal call of shenanigans against Bitmain.
Do not support their transparent price gouging. Additionally, I would recommend miners move off Antpool in favor of any other pool (Except EclipseMC because Fuck Butterfly Labs).
I agree wholeheartedly. It's a move that clearly shows no respect to the miners. Yup. Move off of Antpool if you mine there. For sure no "consumers" should be supporting Ant and mining there, nor should any of us purchase their hardware anymore after this latest stunt. I have been wanting looking at the S5 for a while, but now I'm going to spent my money elsewhere.

I saw a post on one of the bitcoin news sites the other day talking about gavin's discussion at mitbitcoinclub and they were saying that he still says a hard-fork to increase transaction size is in the works. That he thinks it won't be in the next version but possibly could be in the one after. That he has to achieve consensus on with the "5 core developers" which have push access to the git repo.
Just read that earlier today, here is the link: http://insidebitcoins.com/news/gavin-andresen-optimistic-about-scaling-bitcoin/30652“I’m actually, right now, working on just getting consensus among the five, what I call, core developers — the five developers who have push access to the git code. I think I’m getting close to convincing them that we have a plan that will work. I’m probably going to have to write some more code . . . I think we have a year to eighteen months. I would love the next release of bitcoin — the next major release, which will be sometime in the June timeframe — to have a scheduled hardfork to increase the block size in it. I probably won’t get there. It’ll probably be in the release after that, but we’ll see.”

I used them just the other day, walked across the street to Wells Fargo, and had BTC in my wallet about an hour later. My next BTC purchase will come from BitQuick as well. Thank you.

hi, i rarely post here..but i got a business idea how we literally can make risk free money.
the business idea is we form a couple of investor
then use the bitcoin make a real legit escrow website/starting a company
since theres so many scam related with bitcoin, i guess there are also plenty of demand with user needed to transfer/trade their bitcoin without getting scam
so ppl will put btc in our company as escrow, then we charge a bit of fees
after customer done with their btc related business, we release the btc to seller (after deduct a bit fees). done
so thats how we make money with btc..what do you think?
I think you described the established escrow process well. And you think you're going to attract investors and make money doing this how?
