2941  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Elon Musk Wont Sell his Bitcoin on: March 24, 2022, 04:46:38 AM
Can we believe his statement? I don't think his statement is trustable. Some people can state the opposite of what he does.
I suspect he plans to sell their crypto assets when he states to keep his BTC, ETH, or Doge. But who knows? We even don't care whether he wants to keep or sell their crypto assets. However, there should be an impact on crypto market if someone/company that has a big number of crypto assets trying to sell most of their crypto coins.

Elon will say anything to stop bitcoin from dumping hehe. When whales want to dump their coins, they will be very bullish and cause a pump where everyone begins to buy. When everyone begins to buy this is where the whales dump on you. They want you to be their exit liquidity. Similar to Su Zhu, much of the whales are bearish if they are bullish in social media and bullish if they are bearish.

Also, Tesla's bitcoin in the treasury will not be according to Elon's decision if Tesla holds or dumps. Tesla is a public company with a board of directors. If bitcoin gives them a red income statement every quarter showing that it is a bad investment, I speculate the board of directors might decide to sell the investment similar to any other investment. Bitcoin is not special, it is only another gamble for Tesla.
2942  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2022-03-23] El Salvador Postpones Planned Bitcoin Bond on: March 24, 2022, 03:08:14 AM
@stompix. I speculate that the potential investors for the bitcoin bonds might be discouraged that the issuer was not going to be the government of El Salvador anymore. It appears Bukele's team behind the bond changed the roadmap and made state owned company La Geo as the issuer. This will not be a similar bond. A government issued bond is a more secure and safer investment, I reckon.

Anyone herd whats happening between Jorge Masvidal and Colby Covington?
They moved fighting outside octagon to streets and Miami restaurant Papi Steak, so this two really heat each other or they want to get more attention from media and press.
Someone recorded and released video of the incident:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aFO5LMF7zdc

I speculate that Colby Covington will begin taking his payperview payment, that he did not get from the UFC, from Jorge Masvidal after Colby's lawyers file the lawsuits against Masvidal for battery and assault hehehe. If this feud is not fake, I also speculate that Jorge Masvidal might become like BJ Penn. However, if this is only a fake feud, Colby and Jorge are deserving to win awards for best actor and best storyline for fiction hehehehehe.
2944  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏆 2022 OSCARS - Nominees, Odds and Predictions! on: March 23, 2022, 02:49:08 AM
Yes, only a small bet hehehe. It is also only a bet if the academy would allow a black actor to win as best actor in this year's Oscars hehehe.
Since in the last twenty years four black actors won "Best Actor in a Leading Role" Oscars I don't think that's such a big issue anymore, situation changed. What people often forget is that black American actors not only have white Americans as a competition, but also actors from several others predominantly white countries like United Kingdom, Ireland, Canada, Australia, Spain, France etc and all those actors gravitate to United States. As a matter of fact, in the last ~20 years, only 13 out of 20 Oscars in that category were won by Americans. I mean, it sucks that we even have to talk about quotas and stuff like that, simply let the best man win.

You will be shocked on how the owners of the studios in America's movie industry might be racist. I will not say more about this because it might be offensive to some of the people of this forum hehe. In any case, I might also only be being my skeptical me again hehehe.

This feels like a bit of a weird year for some reason as someone who's an American who watches a lot of movies, I've barley heard of the nominees this year. ( funny thing as I'm typing this message an Oscars ad just popped up on the TV lol ).  I have seen Don't Look Up and absolutely loved it as well as a couple of the other movies. It's so hard predicting who's going to win.  I'm going to try and watch a few more of these movies so I can then make an informed bet on all this.

This is my advice on how to watch the movies nominated for best picture in order. You should begin with the movie with the feel good feeling and end it on the most boring movie hehe.

Movies you can watch with someone.

Coda
King Richard
Belfast
Licorice Pizza
Westside Story

Movies you should watch by yourself.

Dune
Drive my car
Nightmare Alley
Power of the dog

Nightmare Alley made me laugh in the ending when I watched it alone. There are some movies that you need to watch alone to take in the story and take in the character development.
2945  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why NFT might become important in the cryptospace and the world on: March 23, 2022, 01:40:54 AM
NFT looks important because the trading volume of NFT is very large. there are many people who want to buy NFT at a high price while hoping it will be more profitable in the future. Unlike most crypto coins which are highly dependent on the market situation, NFTs are very different. The NFT ecosystem is moving due to rumors/speculation so it's hard to predict. maybe this is what makes NFT has its own place in cryptospace.

I disagree. There is certainly more in NFT art than being a medium for profit. There is value in a new type of culture being created because of new mediums similar to NFT. I will also predict that NFTs will bring more mainstream users to the cryptospace than bitcoin, altcoins and defi.

It is beginning with fashion brands already. These companies will certainly bring more than a billion people in the cryptospace through NFTs.

2946  Bitcoin / Press / [2022-03-23] El Salvador Postpones Planned Bitcoin Bond on: March 23, 2022, 12:52:04 AM
It appears there has been a delay in the bitcoin bond and it would not be very shocking if there are more delays for this similar to the bitcoin ETF. The skeptical me thinks that the government of El Salvador might be evaluating what type of political pressure might come to them if they continue to issue those bonds. They say unfavorable market conditions, however, I reckon the type of investors that would be attracted to those bonds are not much affected to unfavorable conditions of the mainstream markets.

#NewProfilePic https://mobile.twitter.com/nayibbukele/status/1485031106982428677?s=12

El Salvador has postponed its planned $1 billion bitcoin bond offering due to unfavorable market conditions, Finance Minister Alejandro Zelaya said on Tuesday on Salvadoran TV show "Frente a Frente."

It had initially been scheduled to launch between March 15-20 but the Russia-Ukraine war and its impact on the price of bitcoin caused the government to change the date, according to Reuters.

"I think this is not the time. There are some moves on the planet," Zelaya said, adding that he prefers the issuance to take place between March and April. "In May and June sometimes you can, but the market variables get different. After September, it is difficult to raise, unless you are previously funded, as in the case of bitcoin bond," he added.

According to Zelaya, the bond will be issued not by the government but instead by the state-owned thermal energy company La Geo. It will have a sovereign guarantee provided by the Salvadoran state, he added.

I would be very much impressed if Jorge Masvidal and Colby Covington are giving their 100% commitment to this feud if it is fake. It might also impress uncle Dana and cause him to promote Covington versus Masvidal 2 hehehe.

UFC welterweights Jorge Masvidal and Colby Covington reportedly got into a scuffle on Monday night at a Miami restaurant. Shortly following reports of the incident, Masvidal posted a video to social media addressing Covington directly.

2948  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏆 2022 OSCARS - Nominees, Odds and Predictions! on: March 22, 2022, 05:50:06 AM

What I've watched recently is CODA 2021 film which is also nominated. The only teenager who can talk and heard but comes from a family of the deaf. She gained confidence thru the Choir trainer who discovers she can sing well.
CODA was a pleasant surprise for me. I expected very little since I knew that it was a remake of a french movie called The Bélier Family and as you know Hollywood usually butchers originals. But every once in a while we get a good remake (remember Scorsese's The Departed that won Best Picture Oscar back in 2007?) and it might even get an Oscar, probably "The Best Supporting Actor" one.

I actually thought its a very unique story with a unique kind of family. So it is not very new at all. There must be a difference between its story otherwise it would be complete plagiarism. The local film producer in my country also butchers Holly movies and its very obvious because everybody watches Hollywood movies.

I wasn't following Oscar back in 2007 but I have watched The Departed several times with some friends who invited me to thier house, I just don't tell them I have already watched it. My favorite part of the movie was when his fellow student noticed him when he arrived in the FBI office and told another person that he never saw this guy again until today, who was also the one who killed Leo inside the elevator.

My bet for Best Picture is Belfast.

I already saw @bbc.reporter's bet on the first page. We're watching who else will post something like that.

Those picks are only my choices during that day and they might change. I have also mentioned that Licorice Pizza might win for best original screenplay after watching it. I have not watched it when I shared those picks.

The odds offered are high on Benedict Cucumber. This might be a good punt hehe.
Yeah I think its a good bet, given the odds and how good he was in the role. Then again, I wouldn't put a lot of money on that bet as I doubt that underdog will win two years in the row.

Yes, only a small bet hehehe. It is also only a bet if the academy would allow a black actor to win as best actor in this year's Oscars hehehe. I will not share more of my thoughts on that racism conspiracy. I might get cancelled hehehehehe.
2949  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: LooksRare NFT marketplace token is pumping on: March 22, 2022, 04:47:12 AM
Simplecryptoguide.com has created an introductory guide to LooksRare (LOOKS) here: https://simplecryptoguide.com/how-to-buy-looksrare/
The guide will take you through the process of buying, selling, moving, and storing your crypto. In addition to providing an overview of the project itself.

Simplecryptoguide.com aims to provide an objective introductory guide for people who are new to the cryptocurrency space, providing a step-by step introduction through the basics.

Looksrare has been a disappointment for me. I still hold some Looks tokens that I have bought when it was $2.70 on January, however, the volume during the beginning of the marketplace was 90% wash trading. It appears that the whales who invested during the presale can stake their tokens while it was locked before the vesting period. Those whales dumped what they staked and made millions while the community is left bagholding. The price is presently pumping, however hehehe.

It appears Sifu also known as Omar Dahini, Omar Patryn, Michael Patryn remains to have control of much of WonderlandDAO's treasury after being voted out by the community? This appears to be a very head shaking situation for their investors.

https://etherscan.io/address/0x5dd596c901987a2b28c38a9c1dfbf86fffc15d77

Also, how is Omar Dahini not in prison after his QuadrigaCX adventures? The skeptical me thinks that he is being supported by a certain intelligence agency for fundraising hehehe.

The information on the chain shows that about two hours ago, Frog Nation's former CFO Sifu successively transferred about 1,000 Ethereum into Tornado Cash. The Wonderland DAO voted to remove Sifu before.

2951  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏆 2022 OSCARS - Nominees, Odds and Predictions! on: March 21, 2022, 04:46:17 AM
The film is really good, I was even surprised that "censorship" allowed it to come out because people can see too many direct analogies with what they see in real politics.
While I generally liked the movie I don't see anything controversial going on there that would call for censorship of any sort. Unlike some other countries, United States don't have much issues with filmmakers criticizing and ridiculing politicians. For example, remember Fahrenheit 9/11 that won the Oscar back in 2005, or Vice that was also made by McKay and that also won Best Picture nomination.

After all, Don't look Up is not going against mainstream narrative at all, and instead is just ridiculing politicians and general public. If this was truly controversial film that goes against any sort of currently popular narrative, you would never see Hollywood A-listers like Meryl Streep or Leonardo Di Caprio being part of them.

Looks like I will skip "betting on a "Best Actor in a Leading Role" category as 1.13 on Will Smith is simply too low and not a good bet to take. If it stayed round 1.3-1.4 like it was in the beginning, I would definitely put some money on it, but this is just not worth it. Having watched the movie, I honestly don't understand how in hell is he the clear favorite as imho Benedict Cumberbatch did a much better job in The Power of the Dog. In King Richard we see a classic Will Smith, nothing extraordinary but I doubt that we will see yet another upset in this category like the last year when Hopkins won over late Chadwick Boseman.

Agreed. I also liked Don't Look Up, however, in my own opinion it is not a movie that is deserving to be nominated for best picture. Don't Look Up being a Netflix movie appeared similar to an ordinary Saturday night TV movie.

Disagree on Will Smith, there is a chance that we might witness another upset for best actor. There has not been a black actor who has won an oscar for best actor since 2007. The odds offered are high on Benedict Cucumber. This might be a good punt hehe.

This is only one of the articles written about Massage Watson. There are many more criticizing the Browns and the retelling of Deshaun Watson's massage escapades hehehe. It appears Deshaun Watson should tell his lawyer that they should start bribing those girls and use 1 year of his salary.

In any case, would the Cleveland Browns fans accept him? I reckon Atlanta might because Watson is from a town in Georgia.

Browns' acquisition of Deshaun Watson proves one thing: There's no bottom for the NFL

The member teams of the NFL are morally bankrupt.

They were yesterday. They are today. They will be tomorrow.

Friday's Deshaun Watson-Cleveland Browns news was only the latest confirmation.

Still facing 22 civil suits for sexual misconduct after a grand jury did not find cause to charge him criminally, and having not played in over a year, Watson and his agent David Mulugheta engaged in a disgusting game of "The NFL Bachelor," telling teams to make their pitches and then slowly letting finalists know who was still in the running for the final rose.

The wilted, thorn-covered rose.

After once telling the Browns they weren't pretty enough, Cleveland got a lot more attractive when it offered the thing everything almost always comes down to: money. The Browns committed to a five-year, fully guaranteed contract that included a raise, and suddenly they became the apple of Watson's eye.

2953  Economy / Speculation / Re: What Effects Did the Tether Reserves Breakdown Have on Bitcoin and The Market? on: March 21, 2022, 02:38:06 AM
It appears the forum cave trolls' speculation on iFinex, Bitfinex, Tether, that they are holding commercial papers of Chinese real estate developers might be true. It might not only be true, this hedge fund has ordered a financial instrument to be created to short Tether. This is very much similar to when Michael Burry had a financial instrument created to short mortgage backed securities on 2007. Everyone thought he was crazy. Watch it in the movie The Big Short.

Christian Bale as Michael Burry in The Big Short

Hedge Fund Fir Tree Bets Big With Short of Stablecoin Tether

Fir Tree Capital Management is making a substantial short wager on Tether, the stablecoin that’s under intense scrutiny from regulators.

The $4 billion hedge fund, founded by Jeff Tannenbaum, constructed a way to short Tether in an asymmetric trade, meaning the downside risk is small and potential to make money is great, according to clients of the firm.

Fir Tree is betting that its short wager could see a payday within 12 months and its thesis against Tether centers around the coin’s roughly $24 billion in high-yield commercial paper, much of it the firm believes is tied to Chinese real estate developers.

China’s real estate sector is in crisis, led by China Evergrande Group, the world’s most indebted property developer that is heading toward a government-driven restructuring. While Tether has said it doesn’t own Evergrande paper, Fir Tree expects that some of the paper it does own will lose value, causing a potentially large drop in the reserves it holds, the investors said.

2954  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why NFT might become important in the cryptospace and the world on: March 21, 2022, 01:13:54 AM
The concept of NFT seems to be an upgraded version of a coin or token utility of the blockchain itself.
Basically using the blockchain network only to transact, send, receive and shop on any platform that accepts the coin to buy goods.
in contrast to NFT, which can reach a wider range of applications, if an application requires NFT to use it, I think it is incomplete if it only uses coins that are only transacted in general.
NFT is used to read the platform as a token of ownership it is the core of NFT and therefore NFT is quite important in the cryptocurrency world.

I disagree. NFTs have become more popular because it has something to do with the culture of the cryptospace than the utility side. I reckon Cryptopunks is certainly a very good example of this. It was free to mint with no utility during 2017, however, today one cryptopunk is presently valued more than $100k for every cryptopunk. Why is this? Similar question on why Andy Warhol's paintings and his other art works are more than $100k for every piece.

@cabron. In a world where America will give Taiwan to China, I reckon that might be the beginning of the descent of America as the no.1 superpower and world police. Countries protected under treaty in NATO will slowly leave because it appears America cannot protect them hehehe.
2956  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Binance worth more than sum of European banks? on: March 20, 2022, 06:17:05 AM
@Lucius. However, would I be correct in assuming that Binance's real networth might be very much underestimated? Last year I was speculating that FTX might kill Binance and become the largest exchange in the world. But I began to think that I might be wrong after I read this article. Su Zhu might be saying something that forum cave trolls like us do not know.

Binance CEO Changpeng “CZ” Zhao is worth an estimated $96 billion, a figure that rivals tech billionaires Mark Zuckerberg, Larry Page and Sergey Brin, according to Bloomberg.

Zhao’s net wealth has been estimated for the first time by the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, which concludes that it exceeds that of Asia’s richest person, Mukesh Ambani, the chairman of Indian conglomerate Reliance Industries.

The $96 billion figure does not take into account Zhao’s personal crypto holdings, meaning it could be a significant underestimate.

2957  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why NFT might become important in the cryptospace and the world on: March 19, 2022, 04:27:20 AM
There was a thread arguing why we should not invest in NFTs. I agree that similar to the ICOs of 2017, there will be scams and this is a good reason to avoid them. However, similar to ICOs as a democratic method to fund a project, NFT is becoming a cultural submovement that also earns income for the artists and the collectors of the artists’ work.

Also, those digital art pieces might also develop into something important in the cryptospace similar to how a Van Gogh or a Picasso are important in the physical world. This is art, this is culture and because we are humans, much of us have an inborn ability to create art and treasure art of different forms.

I speculate similar to ICOs and Defi, NFTs will be here for many years.

I agree. NFT is a place where artists and art enthusiasts come together to create and appreciate the work of the artist. Where what is judged there is the art regardless of the price of a work of art, art fans will not care about it. I also think that NFT will continue to exist like ICOs and DeFi. Because I think there will be many artists who will work through NFT to distribute their work digitally.

Then the game industry, which in my opinion will continue to grow, will also enliven the NFT market and make it live for many years.

However, once NFT and Defi merge, it might not be the artists who dictates what NFT will be more valuable or be the most beautiful. I speculate that similar to the art industry, with art sellers and agents who run the industry, it will be the market but in a more scalable method through Defi.
2958  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2022-03-11]The legendary investor spoke about the future of bitcoin on: March 19, 2022, 03:21:36 AM
@cabron. It will cause a real estate collapse and it will certainly cause a collapse on the whole American economy. America is waiting on what China will do with Russia. They might be waiting for a mistake. The Biden administration might be excited to sanction and freeze Chinese owned assets and Chinese owned companies in American jurisdiction hehehe.

"Now, the co-founder of the Quantum Fund and Soros Fund Management, Jim Rogers, has warned "what is happening with the U.S. dollar now is the end of the U.S. dollar"—but cautioning governments likely won't allow bitcoin to be used as an alternative."

First, one questions his judgment given Soros is involved.  Something like bitcoin would undermine Soros' entire gameplay since it would allow individual people to protect themselves from what he and his ilk want:  control over everyone and everything.  Is he truly giving his opinion or giving their hope?

Also, George Soros is a bear. He almost broke the Bank of England, the Bank of Thailand, the yen and other currencies in the foreign exchanges. There were many larpers who cheered when Soros was speculated to be investing in bitcoin without research on his track record for shorting forex hehehe. If the community hates Elon Musk, I am quite certain they will also hate George Soros hehe.

Is Binance worth more than the sum of all European banks now? Might be close

Is the numbers legit tho? I am not sure. Long ago I've read that tether's marketcap was bigger than every bank in Bahamas (where tether's bank Deltec resides) and their customers' account balance combined. There could be a huge fuckery going on in this space but we will never know until it goes full gox  Cheesy

Su Zhu did not show any numbers, however, it has been speculated that the Asian crypto hedge fund founders and whales might be in secret private discord servers with Asian exchange owners and founders. Su Zhu might have an informed guess on how large Binance's real networth. It might not be as big as the combined networth of European banks, however, it might be underestimated.
