How do we know that Datum won't sell the users' personal data stored inside their BigchainDB and IPFS database to interested companies themselves?
I think there is a trust system in there. We are trusting them to make an investment and users will trust them to they won't sell their personal data. I don't think there is an actual way to know. well, i did not read about a trust system or anything like that, but your personal data is encrypted and you give the data buyer your encryption key to decrypt it, what i have understood in the whitepaper. Still, i believe if they want to abuse it, they can do. We can't control the system in every step. They can, so if you think they are legit and won't be a problem, that is my opinion of course. |

I'm excited to see the mediated chat mode being utilized for the efficient resolution of disputes. I think its a great feature from UTRUST.
If understood correctly the whitepaper explains that in such dispute buyer is going to carry the weight by paying 2% mediation cost to UTRUST. Now imagine a large amount of value involved.. Not a pretty perspective to say the least. I asked UTRUST what a strange policy they plan on using here but have not received an answer. Also nobody but one responded to my earlier post about it. Did anyone really take it in and have an opinion? Not a biggie to you? And as their mediator is probably a real person it will be interesting to know what guidelines they follow and over time the reputation of dispute outcomes. Things like human error, benefit of doubt and partiality come to mind. I'm just curious how UTRUST is going to effectively protect buyers and not make money quite literally off their backs. Honestly, I wonder if Paypal had this exact policy implemented where a buyer pays mediation fee, would they be a great deal less popular. Penny for your thoughts.. When I opened a dispute on PayPal I really don't recall if I paid a mediation fee. But btw, my thought about this is, the most fair move is to ask for that 2% only if they solve your dispute, I'll be ok with that but I'm not so sure if I'll agree with a fee payment in advance When I opened a dispute in Paypal I don't think I paid any money for it but they couldn't solve my problem. They made it worse so I am not sure about that. If they would have solved it, I would happily pay %2. |

As far as i understand they wont be hiring anyone. Any user can be a manager as long as he invests some money and is able to convince investors to trust him with their money by providing a successful trading history with profitable investments. I understand same. Anyone wants to risk at least his 1.000$ can be a manager. And if they make a good trade profits, investors would jump to his boat. If they get bigger exchanges involved with the project, i would invest even more to be a manager. I don't think there is a cap for maximum. But if you want to gather 10.000$ for your tokens, you should put 10.000$ of your own. |

Well the risk is bad coded bot which would bring bad results, or a mass adoption of which would bring bad results, or the incapacity of the bot to react in time to particular important news. They will really have to focus on bug hunting to eliminate all mistakes in the code before the full release. No one wants to loose money because of a bug in the code. I would still be careful in the beginning and double check every parameter. The big risk in my mind is if some smart traders know how the bot work and manipulate the pattern. They will take money from those lazy people who leave their bots working alone. So changing strategies (DAFs) is needed, and also development which will happen for sure. I don't think that it's easy to track how a bot works, it takes a lot of time and the bot changes the tactics of trade. I think devs will be aware of this problem and will think of all possible scenarios of manipulation. I don't think it is an issue devs would probably think of. There is too many big players on the market and too many movements. You can't just single out a bot and presume its actions. |

Actually, I wonder if it is possible at all to attach custom rules and conditions to the Merchant Tokens? If so, what would that interface look like? Don't tell me retailers have to write a smart contract in Solidity or similar language.
If that's actually needed, I think they will need to code the contract for the merchant. Providing an example contract or a contract creation tool would also be options that would help avoid that being a problem. It will be better if the GATCOIN team facilitate them with friendly interface. If not, it will be like they created their own project / works independently (looking for someone who understand these things first or taking time to learn it first) or this platform is only suitable for merchants who understand crypto. Isn't the whole idea behind this project, that GATcoin creates the tokens for them (writes the smart contract) how the merchant requests or at least advices the merchants step by step at creating their tokens? I'm sure it will go this way otherwise it will become a mess of tokens created by merchants. Very curious how the platform will look and how everything will work. Hope there will be enough to really test the application. I dont know why they are waiting with android version. I know they said for now they will present just iOS one but i think they should invest some time to release a version for everyone else also. It will boost the ICO investments for sure. Same here, more people are owning an Android phone. It will be released and I really hope it will be fast because I'm very curious. Is there anyone with an iOS who has tested this? As far as I understood if you use UTrust tokens you don't pay merchant fees, only eth network fees (this is normal, you need to spend gas to move your tokens, always)
I understood the same way. It was said by dev, and it is a logical decision. You can't do it free because of ethereum chain needs a fee, so it is a good solution. |

If transactions are stuck in the blockchain, so be it. If the transaction will go to Genesis Vision after the pre-sale was sold out, they just get there funds back and they can try again during the ICO.
What about the ICO will it be stopped if there is a big backlog? No! So why do it for a presale?

I think they just stopped selling option tokes not because transaction got stucked but because if they sell an excessive amount of option tokens they will sell too many GVT with presale bonus, screwing up who want to only join the ICO. "Genesis Vision team launched a special option program for ICO participation. This way the company gave the participants’ a guarantee to acquire GVT tokens at a specific price during the core ICO. Options also give some additional bonuses for tokens amount, and can allow early supporters to book their tokens in advance at a price they consider fair." Ah ok, I had misunderstood everything. Weird to not have any hard cap for the presale. Indeed. Why no hard cap? Why wasnt there a smart contract were let say: 20% of the tokens are for presale with a bonus of ...%. When all tokens are sold, just say sold out! This would be much beter to see a pre-sale that is sold out then a pre-sale that is cancelled. Anyway, glad there is so much interest in this project! I missed presale so crowdsale will be for me and everyone else  It is odd indeed. And what was the number for stopping it. They was watching it and said now it is very high demand lets stop it. Anyway of course it is a great thing there is a good demand. Still the process is little odd. |

Has anyone found what benefits token buyers get out of holding the tokens?
The worth of the tokens will decrease if more people use this. Although I don't think this is planned as an investment so you don't need to get additional bonuses out of holding the tokens. Maybe essentially this is a utility token and not an invesment token, so they wont give you any special benefit for holding the tokens. Wait what? Then why would people want to participate in the ICO at all? Is Soma some kind of philanthropic project? To be able to answer that question I think we first need to know what exactly Soma's business model is. Has anyone found a description of it? Wait what? you dont want bonus? you dont want cheap price? But still i didnt give an absolute answer before, there was a "maybe" word. The thing you think is bonuses and cheap price now may be a different thing in the future. It is very important to see what is soma's business model and what are tokens for? I couldn't see anything yet about it. |

I believe that if utrust gets mass adoption, it can bring more people to crypto world. With that effect, it can make a good bump for all cryptocurrencies.
True, UTrust could be one of the projects, or maybe THE project, which will open the crypto world for masses. Maybe it takes some time, but there is a lot of potential here. It will help adopt cryptocurrency thanks to the link with fiat currency, and what will attract customers is the transaction fees and speed of each transaction, so when cryptocurrencies are mainstream utrust will be on top of all the other projects, mostly the ones that do not offer protection of funds, so yeah, investing is a no-brainer  . I agree, thats the basics that people needs, low transaction fees and a smooth transaction. Utrust must be competitive enough from those existing methods not just an idea alone but in real action. Yes but it must also be easy to handle. I think one of the main problems why crypto isn't as popular as it could be is the problem with all this stuff around. You need to save your priv. keys, make backups of your wallet, encrypt it, check every transaction double and three times, so that you send your coins to the right address etc etc. The average user don't want this and is afraid of it. Yes it is very hard to send their money to 0x32838wssdjedu28328e3sdah is very hard for common people. When i was doing my first transaction i said my money is flying out of window right now. I don't think they will do a very complicated system and common people would easily use it. |

They already announced that they have a partnership with an Asian company, gatcoin will start in Asia, mostly Japan and go from there, so this means that they have a market ready to be in after the release of the platform. ICO in one month, maybe it's time to buy ETH now, it's going up slowly since yesterday but we're approaching byzantine upgrade, my target is $400/ETH minimum by 2 november
With the Byzantium Hard Fork in mind it could indeed be a good idea to stock up with ETH now before the price of ether moves steadily up till the start of the ICO. I said byzantine instead of byzantium lol  . But really, if anyone want to invest in UTrust's ICO it's better to stock up ETH now, just see the pattern on coinmarketcap Before last hard fork btc doubled its value, maybe eth do the same. It is probably a wise decision to stock it now. If that happens like that, people who bought at presale will be happy even more than now. I am still sorry about i missed it. |
