You can't really afford to that at this stage. Portugal's attack will likely be too strong to just hope they can do that for 90-120 minutes and hope to win it on penalties again. I don't think Portugal will make the same mistake of underestimating Morocco either. I think Portugal are a better team/squad than Spain as well. It's going to be interesting to see if Ronaldo is benched again. I guess they proved that they don't need him but it's still a balsy move. If it pays off it will be commended but if not I'm sure he will be criticised. Personally I don't think they should have brought him on at all in the last game. They were 5-1 up at that point and could have risked injuring him so they should have left him off and send home the message that he's not above being left out completely.
Also I think Portugal are used to and don't mind coming up against that kind of play and mentality. I expect Morocco will probably try to do as they've done, niggly little fouls, stout and resolute defence, but Portugal have the right kind of mix up to crack open that door. I'll be hoping for goals today, yesterday was nice to see 4 goals in regular time, really want to see an early goal to force a comeback. Funny thing though is Netherlands played 80 minutes as if they were in the lead, so maybe Morocco won't be too perturbed. They'll fancy freekicks too. Agree on Ronaldo. Send him home if they don't want to play, but I feel like it's a fine balance for the coach to keep morale. The crowd clearly loved him, the loudest cheers was when he came on. On the one hand, such results are always shocking, on the other hand, I expected something like this (I wrote about it). Bright teams like Brazil are very often destroyed by disciplined "middle peasants". In fact, Brazil lost in the first serious match, they need to seriously think about their self-perception, maybe they overestimate themselves. Congratulations Croatia. A great team that consistently performs successfully in all international tournaments. This is amazing for such a small country.
I wouldn't ever call Croatia a peasant team, haha. Rankings are a bit arbitrary but they've maintained a hugely respectable rank in FIFA, and do have decent players. The last time a team went far with peasants was Iceland, Trinidad & Tobago. Their teams had actual peasants, literal farmers! I'm not sure if the Greek Euro winners (who beat Ronaldo twice in the tourney) had peasants in their squad, but they were at least 5 times more "peasant" than this Croatia team!

Worth mentioning Chipmixer is the only service that breaks chronological chain of inputs also, something to me still the most interesting way to mix, and still perhaps the method detectors use as the most logical way to trace transactions. In other words, you will get coins even older than what you send.
Note I also wear the signature so account for my bias.
Note also this is not trustless.

Maan that Netherlands goal haha. First time in a long time I saw that kind of freekick, man lying down didn't prevent it, and Weghorst saves his country again.
Penalty kicks again, if that happens I am so not watching haha. Messi better put this game to bed.
Netherlands Croatia? What?

What's your definition of decentralisation? If it's concentration of supply in a few, then a shitcoin I could create right now and airdrop to 100 million active wallets so no single holder has even 0.001% of supply would be decentralised?
Like Husires says, there is no absolutes, only relatives. And you really would have a hard time finding a less centralised coin in any aspect.

Starting to get a bit nervous about the game.. I don't really give us much chance, but the beauty of football is that you can always win against the run of play.
We have a decent team and we'll be able to control parts of the game - but I do not feel we are capable of putting Brazil under any kind of continuous pressure.
If they do score early, I'm afraid the game might turn real ugly real quick for us - so I hope our defence will be better than ever. They are in for a rough day.
It's precisely this thing about football I love. To watch, when the first team I followed was the whipping boys of my local league. Then to play, when my team was always bottom of competitions but one particular event we went just 2 games short of actually winning something... on a day when everything clicks for the underdog and not for the favourite, it's amazing. Croatia's got a great team, and a style that's not terrible to watch, I honestly wouldn't know what to do if I were coach. You can't really frustrate Brazil (their players are better at that game). You can't be patient with them, as they're so fast now this team, probably fastest Brazilian team I can remember. You can't pressure them either, because they're better at turnovers. 0-0 half time would be ideal... early goal, I agree, will kill the spirit. I got pretty ok money on Croatia as a hedge against my Brazil outright... and a cheeky Lovren goal (I forever remember his header against BVB). Footballing gods, hear our prayers haha. 5.5 points away from a prize spot, but that's counting on them not getting points themselves. Almost impossible but hey, you never know.
I won't rule it out yet. Good luck for the last matches buddy. Good luck to you. I think whomever in the top 10 who gets 2 exact scores today gets a nice boost, but the aim for me is just to get 2 close scores. I'll be ruined if both games end in draws I think this Superbru world cup competition is very interesting, and we should do it again for next big sport event, maybe for Australian Open in January.
Tennis would be something very different for sure. I don't follow it as much these days, and never really in as much depth as football but it'd be something special, a pool and a quiz format. No more Slissy there hopefully heh.

Frankly, I hope we can see this kind of organizations continuing. I think the Champions League is a nice field for this. We can collect some money and create an organization like a pool next year.
Definitely would like to do something similar for UCL too, it was hard enough getting participants for pool, but now we already have proof that people are willing to play a format like this, will be cool to see what else we can come up with. Credit to Cro2 for putting this out to test (and see it work successfully!). My prediction (and no offense guys haha):
I hope your prediction comes true since I wasn't expecting to make it this far so a 4th-3rd place finish is already a big win for me. Then there is no more pressure and expectation haha. Dream big, force your luck, as Trofo would say. You're already in a great position now, enjoy it and GL! The thing is that however you spin the questions, eventually it al comes down to luck. If the teams are close and the question is possession based, if 1 ream scores early they will give possession to the other team.
The same as counterattacking - the team that will counterattack is the team that is already leading.
Yeah, I would say, the people who don't know football at all will suffer from terrible luck (picking the most ridiculous answers all the time) and if you just follow the tournament, you'll at least put yourself on equal luck footing with everyone else. Going to be hard to top the format you guys did

Right from history, Spain are known for this style of football, the tiki taka play is their known trade mark and they have stock to it for many decades and don't look to stop it now. They played well against Morocco and created few chances because Morocco had a very solid defense and were able to read the game and understand the tactic and attacking strategies which made it so difficult to break their defense. We just have to give Moroccans the credit and not entirely blame Spain for the loss.
Yup, don't think enough people give credit to Morocco, and too much discredit to Spain. On another day, they might have gone through and then no one would be talking about it -- do think they're just not flexible enough when other teams do prove they can adjust to the opponent. Morocco to go one better this round, though? They now must also prove they can adjust to a Portuguese team who know how to play the same battle of attrition.

I came across this news on CNBC where standard chartered bank claims that bitcoin will reach 5000$. Being a bank, this can be their wish and not a reality. Banks do not want bitcoin to become popular and therefore they spread this negative information so people panic sell and do not adopt bitcoin. Don't worry. This is the same list the bank likes to do, which contains surprises that may or may not happen (it includes things like Biden getting impeached). It's not exactly unfounded, since they see tech stocks being the trigger with multiple bankruptcies in the forecast (we already know the biggest ones are laying off big time). So it's not a "wish" as you say, neither is it a "reality", but a worst case scenario. And really, if that's the worst, expect a huge bounce from 5k. It's not as bad a FUD as media has made it out to be, it's really just predictions. The same team predicted a USD/CNY pact in 2019, and then Covid happened, and they predicted 2022 to be not just Covid recovery but accelerated growth in global economy too, and we know how that turned out heh.

24 points which I am pretty sure it will not make any difference to the people at the top if they keep hitting what most other people will hit,in fact it is exactly these other persons including me that should come out with "alternative" predictions in order to try and recover.I think though it will be very difficult for many people to try and fight their way up in the standings with just 24 points or 8 games left in the total,I personally do not expect anything despite being just 7 points away from the 10th place,I know it will be impossible for me to overtake them.
Still plenty of points, though I daresay after QFs are done, everything will be more or less settled if people just stick with safe picks. I'm thinking at least a draw and 1 final upset would shuffle the board a little for those daring to take the risks. Onus is definitely on us mid-tablers to take those risks heh. Remember, this is extra-time score so 0-0s to penalties would be a daring 3 pointer for those counting on some teams to just bore each other. 5.5 points away from a prize spot, but that's counting on them not getting points themselves. Almost impossible but hey, you never know.

Nice going, Steve! Works great for me, thank you! Probably going to use this in future when on my phone so I don't need to login to Sportsbet.
Linking the account went smooth, didn't even need to leave the bot page. Only issue now is seems the betting currency's just in USDT, which I'm just about all out of. Wen BTC?
Any way to share bets already made/settled for some bragging action?

In addition, the very fact that you have a Ledger or Trezor indicates that you have a cryptocurrency. This information can be used by attackers.
You may very well already be advertising you likely own Bitcoin simply by: having a forum account, KYC'd at an online service, even Tweeted about Bitcoin. A hardware wallet used properly already prevents wannabe attackers from accessing it online. I'd wager the number of people falling victim to Bitcoin theft from a hardware wallet wouldn't show up on a pie chart of ways people lost their Bitcoin to thieves.

Still going to enjoy watching this thread. Definitely looks like Bitcointalk natives are having a strong showing! My prediction (and no offense guys haha): harkorede v woodieslaman29 v itlongrunralle14 v kanapkacls63 v casperbgdthen, it'll be a Harkorede v CLS63 final, with Harko taking it all. Feel free to share winnings with me for my 100% accurate prediction What a shit new for a few that Ronaldo doesnt start the game. Now we can say, the really fun beguns, the big prizes are ahead. So lets keep pushing guys, good luck to all the participants, but more for the Bitcointalk natives, destroy that foreing asses. Yeah, as mentioned didn't at all know about the coach bustup he had after the last game, or I'd never have gone for him, not that it mattered for me as my challenger had "No" and I'd still have ended up losing. Lineups mistakes cost me (but still, it was luck). Have said it often, if he doesn't start, the stars will shine and they absolutely did.

Been a while since I put down on UFC but I'm thinking Błachowicz has really good odds (3.36 with a boost at Sportsbet) so I put a few satoshis down on him. Almost acca'd that with Paddy for over 45/10 but I thought better not chase too much.
For the MM picks, I went for most of the heavy favourites (anything less than 14/10) except Blachowicz, and then randomly picking the guys whose names sound more aggressive (yes, purely arbitrary in other words).

I'm really enjoying in the first day without football It has been a bit of an overload, especially since I've watched almost all of the games so far. Unfortunately, I don't feel we can parry Brazil in the QF - they are everybody's favorites for the title. I'll give advantage to Netherlands, Portugal and England and hope for a miracle for Croatia. Yeah, I get you, football's great but it does get tiresome even without watching all the games, just keeping an eye on them, plus we're all sort of "invested" in multiple events. Got to say it's well worth the entertainment, always living up to expectations. I got money on Croatia qualification, pretty good odds. Of course I want Brazil through as the bulk of whatever money I have left is on them but I don't mind hedging a bit if they fall short. @casperBGD @darxiaomi: Argentina, Morocco, France my picks for money. I know NL is set up precisely how they should, but Messi is enough, I think/hope. Pool is England, Portugal, Argentina, no sweat.

|
|
What do we think boys?
Hard not to see Brazil go through to the final, Argentina should be their sternest test and if they take that scalp, the final is theirs. Mbappe should also power France through England unless Kane, Saka, Bellingham bring their best, but up next is Portugal have finally wisened up and are warming up to the idea of not starting Ronaldo. It allows for a very different, very dangerous Portuguese side -- I see them as French equals on the field in that case, but only if they find a way to take Morocco out first. They're the best European team to do it because they know how.

I don't think it's as hypothetical a situation as you imagine. I did get into Bitcoin in 2016, so had about a year and a half to accumulate before Bitcoin reached ATH. But it wasn't like I was buying Bitcoin, merely getting paid in BTC. And if you're getting paid in it, you're selling most of it anyway (since it's your income). I was saving into the hundreds of thousands and millions -- was not at my dream 1 BTC by the time ATH hit.
Today, we're not too far away from post-2017 prices.
You can still adopt now as if you were 5 years early.
I do know potential investors seem to see fractions as a problem, but adopters aren't bound by that mindset, in my experience.

Nice. I see the main character looks a lot like Sweet Tooth (graphic novel I bought for kids just last year).
Question: yeah I think Bitcoin users are bad ass, and those success stories (financially) are really bad ass too. I do know of one but a question first: you only take positive stories? We also have probably plenty of terribly bad stories which can also be really cool as comics.
Something dumb but semi true: After being told he's a loser for posting his Bitcoin address as a QR code in reddit on memes, guy keeps doing it, getting banned, but somehow continues to receive small tips from fellow incels and randos.

@buwaytress great comeback that was really close and for a second I thought I was packing when I saw Ronaldo score not until the offside flag was raised...and the Portugal match kept me on the edge of my seat looking at how easy goals were flying in, otherwise love the sportsmanship keep it up Yeah same here, I tried not to react but I did when the ball hit the back of the net, and with replays I hoped he was somehow still in his half but it was so offside I laughed. The last corner too, I said if he scores, I'm going to not shit on him so much. Well done, though, I want you to win it all so I can say you knocked me out

Man, that's a lot of customers in such a short time -- they come and ask because of your Bitcoin sign or you talk to them about it? Because that's some amazing numbers, no other way to describe it, considering you're not advertising digitally for a digital payment method.
Exactly what I thought, 13 costumers in a month is almost 1 costumer paying with cryptocurrency every two days during 30 days. It leads me to assume OP is from a country which Bitcoin and other cryptos are widely used to ease whatever economical frictions must be going on there. My country has quite considerable volume in the region (mostly exchanges and stablecoins) and yet I doubt merchants who accept Bitcoin are able to get similar numbers as OP. Yeah, which is why I asked. The case study does seem to have conflicting scenarios of common Bitcoin use, which suggests a high level of financial tech proficiency... yet at the same time archaic banking (SMS from the bank to confirm settlements instead of instant settlement from regular fiat). Even in Iran where the systems are completely closed off from the outside world because of sanctions, their internal banking has instant settlement as you might expect, Bitcoin is just a way to accept payments from the outside world (or send outside).
