2981  Economy / Speculation / Re: Should I cash out my BTC now? on: July 18, 2017, 09:37:24 PM
If you had your payment in BTC, would you cash out your money or you would wait increasing of cryptocurrency?

How much do you get laid? Say if you have a part time job as a freelance/coder or graphic designer I would probably just leave all of the bitcoin that I earned from it alone. It shouldn't be that much and I would just invest that in bitcoin, unless you are desperate need of that money. This would be different if you went full time and your payment method was bitcoin. Firstly I would not recommend this since it too risky as a full time job. I would recommend you turning 70-80 percent of your earning into foat for bills, food etc.
2982  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What happens in the world of cryptocurrency if.... on: July 18, 2017, 10:04:22 AM
What happens in the world of cryptocurrency if people already know a lot about BTC or altcoin? Huh
Because as we know that currently not many people know about btc or altcoin.

Up, up, up we go. If the entire world knew about bitcoin there is no doubt that bitcoin will reach at least 5k, unless the way they found out about bitcoin was really dodgy and they had a bad view of bitcoin. Even altcoins wll be going through the moon and there will be heaps of new companies that try to profit off this like companies that make altcoins or trading exchanges. Probably something else we will see are super slow confirmation times due to a congested blockchain.
2983  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin vs Taxes on: July 18, 2017, 02:25:37 AM
I've heared that in some countries people have to pay the income tax after buying fiat for their bitcoins. Anyone faced such problem? If yes then how you deal with it in your country?
At one point of view  bitcoin is an instrument for investment so ppl buy it willing to get income in their currency.
At the other point it is a currency and it might be used with a purpose of saving. In this case the tax would be stupid.

Whenever you sell bitcoin for fiat currencies, like on websites like localbitcoins.com, you will have to pay a tax that the website will take away from you. Before, when buying or selling Bitcoin there wasn't a tax that was taken away from you, but now since Bitcoin has caught the eyes of some governments, they have implemented a tax on them. This makes it hard to make profit off Bitcoin, especially by doing buy low, sell high. Try sell in large quantities to avoid being taxes a lot.
2984  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What could possibly go wrong? (Segwit) on: July 18, 2017, 02:19:52 AM
Hi
I'm really struggling to see why we are already seeing a decline in BTC price due to the incoming fork.
From what I understand:
  • We see an alternative crypto that has a very small likelihood of overtaking Core, as Core will be better than old BTC after the fork. Plus Core is just, well,
     king.
  • Alternative crypto lasts a day and dies. Life goes on.
I'm surely missing something here. I'm literally ready to drain my bank accounts on the 31st of July, wait a few weeks and sell enough BTC to cover my expenses - surely leaving me with a large amount of BTC as profit?

With my current knowledge on Segwit, I can't see any reason for panic. What am I misunderstanding?
Thanks

This is mostly due to panic and the snowball effect, when Bitcoin dropped 200 in 5 or 6 hours, a lot of people panicked and quickly sold their coins, which dropped the price even lower and then people would do this again and again, dropping the price even lower. Also, some people will sell their bitcoin, just to add to the price drops and then attempt to re buy the bitcoin at a lower price. People are probably panicking right now due to the possible soft fork or hard fork that might happen recently. This is pre segwit anticipation, and Bitcoin seems to be recovering and rising back to its former glory.
2985  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Use Social Media for Bitcoin on: July 18, 2017, 02:08:03 AM
That's a good idea but it really depends on what type of friends you have. If your friends aren't that into technology and not that interested in new things and trying new things out, forcing bitcoin on them wouldn't be a good idea, and will only push them away from the idea of bitcoin. I think just getting more media attention related to Bitcoin will help promote it, there are heaps of people who read the news and/or watch the news, and if bitcoin was talked about, positively by the media, there will be more people interested in and investing in it.
2986  Economy / Speculation / Re: WHEN will BTC rise again and WHY? on: July 18, 2017, 01:36:35 AM
Ive been watching the markets sence bitcoin was 150$/BTC, i have been promoting bitcoin and the use of it for a long time, but why should BTC ever rise again? There have been a peak thru overbuying and now somebody has to pay = coin value drop.

Hard fork, soft fork doesnt matter the value wont rise above 2k$ again?
It wasnt meant to?

I have not sold my Coins but i dont believe in 4-10-100 000$ /BTC

Don't panic sell your coins, just because Bitcoin has dropped pretty low this couple of days, doesn't mean you should panic sell all your Bitcoin. The reason why bitcoin has dropped so low these couple of days was due to the hard/soft fork that will be happening on August the first. Bitcoin looks like it is stabilising again, and looks like it is steadily rising back up. Don't give up hope, after August the first, everything will be fixed (hopefully).
2987  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can we know about Aug 1 before Aug 1? on: July 17, 2017, 07:41:30 AM
Maybe I'm fantasizing but haven't markets priced in Aug 1 already?

Will we have to wait until the very day to know whether soft or hard fork or whatever?

Or can you pick up signs that the solution is decided already while cryptos are behaving like a tempest in a teapot?

Well, the market right now may or may not be the market of August the first, after the hard fork or soft fork. For all, we know Bitcoin could drop to 1000 USD or it could even rise all the way to 3000 USD. Right now though, Bitcoin has recently fallen from 2800 USD all the way to less than 2000 USD in a matter of days, but it seems like the prices are stabilising and going back up. Bitcoin rose 100 in only 3 hours, so we may see Bitcoin back where it is soon
2988  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy before aug 1 or after? on: July 17, 2017, 07:26:27 AM
Hi guys. Im waiting and hoping this dump
Will continue to 1300 or 1500 before i buy
Which do you think is more ideal
Before aug 1 so i can participate if it splits
Or after aug 1 so i can read the market reaction?

I would definitely recommend buying now, since if after August the first Bitcoin doesn't go up back to 2500 or remains here, or even drops, I would be very worried about bitcoin's future. Right now it seems like the Bitcoin price is stabilizing and going back up, just 4 hours ago it was at 1950, and now it is rising back up to 2050. So yeah, if you have the funds I would definitely recommend buying a couple of Bitcoin now since it doesn't look like it will be this low ever again, or at least for a long time. Also after August, the first Bitcoin may be taking a trip to the room or totally flop, keep that in mind.
2989  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do Banks fear cryptocurrency on: July 17, 2017, 07:06:04 AM
Yesterday the Central Bank of Albania issued a warning about the uncertain and unsafe nature  of cryptocurrencies
They called on people not to get involved. Should we be afraid or the banks are!

That bank was probably feeling threatened by Bitcoin and crypto currencies and felt like they had to make a statement regarding this. And their fear is exactly what I would have expected, the banks are not just brushing Bitcoin off, they are acknowledging it as a real problem that could severely damage their business. But Bitcoin hasn't become that mainstream yet so it is impossible to say that Bitcoin will overtake the banks now, but in the future that is definitely possible, especially with our every growing technical world, Bitcoin seems like the ideal currency.
2990  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to setup offline bitcoin wallet on: July 17, 2017, 06:49:35 AM
Hi Guys could you please suggest me on below things

1)How to setup offline bitcoin wallet
2)which is  the best way and best software to install to create offline wallet.

What for, how much Bitcoin do you have. If you have a bunch of bitcoin I would recommend using cold storage which is super safe. Cold storage is a form of storing your Bitcoin offline which is what you are talking about here.
Some types of offline storage or cold storage include:
1. Storing your Bitcoin on a USB drive or a hardware wallet, some hardware wallets include ledger wallet and Trevor.
2. Using a paper wallet which is a document that contains all your information Bitcoin related, passwords private keys etc.
3. Physical items such as physical bitcoin.
2991  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is there a relation between Bitcoinprice and Gold price? on: July 17, 2017, 06:36:10 AM
Hi folks,

I'm new posting here but old investor. I was wondering if there's a direct correlation between bitcoin price and  www.bitcoin.com  and Gold price  www.goldprice.com .
If you look at the charts in evident that gold started to drop when bitcoin did or vice versa? Is there any systematic correlation?
Thanks in advance

Don't think there is much of a relationship with gold and bitcoin, they are both investments but that is all their similarities and of course not any bunch of investments are related. Gold is super stable and barely rises or falls, while on the other hand, Bitcoin is a decentralized currency which makes it fall and rise in price a lot. Gold has been around for centuries as a precious metal and something that held value, but Bitcoin has only been around for 10 years or so. I don't think that when gold falls or when Bitcoin falls, the other investment will fall as well.
2992  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: BITCOIN EXCHANGE SCAMMERS on: July 17, 2017, 06:23:45 AM
HELLO PEOPLE I HAVE  A LOT OF PROOF IM GLAD THAT I HAD A CHANCE TO WRITE SOMEWHERE AND REPORT ABOUT THIS FUCKEN SCAMMERS I WISHED I KNEW ABOUT THIS ROBBERS AND BOOLSHET SCAMMERS. THEY STOLE MY MONEY AND NEVER SEND ME EVEN MESSAGE THEY EVEN BLOCKED ME. SO PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM https://payticoins.com  AND https://www.onestpay.com/   PLEASE PLEASE SO MUCH SHARE THIS TO EVERYONE AND STAY AWAY IF YOU AND YOUR FRIENDS DONT WANT TO LOSE MONEY. THANK YOU SO MUCH.

Hey, just reviewed the 2nd site (https://www.onestpay.com) and it seems definitely looks more legit than the first one. The design is more fluid and there is actually a logo for the tab the website is located in. Then I checked out the affiliates tab for the website. It says you receive 10 percent also. If you would receive 10 percent off all the bitcoin that you get other people to deposit on the site with, the website wouldn't make a profit and it seems that and would lose money. So even if the site has a better design, it is still a scam and stays away from it, please.
2993  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: will the bitcoin ecosystem learn anything from the August crash? on: July 17, 2017, 06:02:55 AM
So, it is already here. it was to be expected. the market do not want a fork and it shows it with a big fall and the market will be in this mood until the situation clears out. The fork will be imposed anyway because...reasons. pick the one you like. Your prefered excuse won't change the situation we are to face until mid August.

Now, the question, looking forward is, will the bitcoin participants learn something from this? is there any change to be expected on how bitcoin will develop in the future? is a change even desirable?

my impression is that as it is, bitcoin governance is better than free beer for propagandists and I do not see why this would change any time soon. Reason is dead.

People have already learned about the August 1 hard fork, and that is probably the reason why the Bitcoin price has to feel so quickly these couple of days, due to this pre segwit anticipation that has caused everyone to think that bitcoin will probably die soon and they will lose all their money. This is called pre segwit anticipation and is causing most of the people who have invested in Bitcoin to panic and then quickly sell it at around 2000 USD even though it is a loss.
2994  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: BITCOIN EXCHANGE SCAMMERS on: July 17, 2017, 05:19:20 AM
Just had a look at https://payticoins.com/ and the website doesn't even have a logo on the tab, any reputable website would have a logo on the tab, but PaytiCoins doesn't, the first sign of something, have a look here: http://imgur.com/a/UYRvK.

Then just take a look at the affiliates tab on the navigation bar of the website and it says that your affiliate cut is 10 percent. 10 percent. Let that sink in. How can any site make any profit when it is giving 10 percent to the affiliates, either the site is offering you say 80% of what your Bitcoin is really worth, or the site is a scam. And looking at the website's design, I would say it is leaning towards the scam part.

The first site is definitely a scam, will be back to review site 2.
2995  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Carefull with Bittrex on: July 17, 2017, 05:03:13 AM
I would like to issue a warning to all users about the Bittrex.com exchange.

They lock accounts and demand enhanced ID verification for no apparent reason

Take action today (withdraw all funds) or be faced with the selfie ID procedure without warning

I am facing this situation for <1 BTC account balance

I'm sure that Bittrex has sufficient grounds on to request for this ID verification for you, it should just be a small hiccup for you, what is wrong for you to give ID verification for them? I would recommend trying to contact them via their twitter, facebook, email or slack. Still seems pretty suspicious for the site to allow you to deposit around 1 BTC and then just not allow you to use it or even deposit, maybe a word with them should fix it. You may have posted in the wrong section since Bittrex didn't scam you at all.

Firstly, you don't need that many caps in a thread, we get that you are mad about getting scammed but we would understand it better if you used better grammar and also used the correct scam accusation format which is more pleasing to read. The format can be found here:https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=260073.0 and I would recommend using it next time. I really don't understand what you are saying, so if you can offer a better format for your report, I'll come back to attempt to help you
2997  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Duckdice.io [SCAM and SHADY behavior] on: July 17, 2017, 04:35:16 AM
Scammers Profile Link: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=917361

Reference Link:
Amount Scammed: 9 bitcoin

What happened::
Hello,

Nickname : Ozafejyw782

I am their biggest winner : https://duckdice.io/stats

I am a casino highroller, I like casinos, poker etc.  Today, I played for my first time on duckdice.io I saw on their bitcointalk's thread that they have a bonus 120%. Let's try it !

I deposited 2 BTC for my first deposit, claimed a bonus, set up 2FA. I was a bit surprised, I got 2 btc extra. I thought that will be like a poker bonus to clear. I can see that I have to clear it. Then I thought it will delete only the 2 BTC extra if I delete it.

Let's gamble ! I played and won from 4 bitcoin to 9.xx and 23% bonus cleared. A lot of beggars spammed me in PM. I got more than 20 private messages in 1 hour.

I had to go, I still didn't trust the website, small, young, not a good reputation(not a bad too) I decided to withdraw but I have my bonus. That's normal, I cannot withdraw.

I decided to cancel my bonus. Even if I lose my extra 2 BTC. It is safer with a young website like that. I click cancel and are you sure yes in 1 second, without reading anything ( My fault) but I never thought there was a shady feature like that.(The proof it is shady, the admin stan talked to me and told me they will change it on monday)

BOOM : 0 balance. I refresh : 0 balance.

I contacted the moderator : barcode. He was very helpful instead of the other moderators (except mharckie
helpful as well). He told me to talk to the admin who was here : DuckHunt. He didn't answer me.

Then, I started to lose my temper and made a scandal in the chat and magic : an admin "Stan" answered me. He explained me that I decided to cancel my bonus and I had to read. The balance is cancelled. I explained him that's was a shady feature and I just want my account like before : 9.xx BTC balance and 23% bonus cleared. I will clear it and if they are lucky I will lose it.

I asked them if they had enough balance to keep a 10 btc max bet as well (at least 800 BTC) but no links, nothing.

Here their rules :

To claim bonus your balance must be greater or equal to deposit amount.
Your Balance will be locked while bonus is active. You can cancel bonus at any time.
Bonus must be wagered 55x to became a part of your balance.
Wagering contribution is 50% from bet amount.
Reload Bonus can be claimed only twice per day.

It is NOT written:  the balance will be cancelled as well but ONLY the bonus.

At the same time, the admin "stan" sent me a funky proposition : Deposit 5 bitcoin and I will see what I can do for you. IS IT A JOKE ? They stole me 7 BITCOIN and now they want 5 MORE ?

I wanted to get my money back 9 BITCOIN with the same 23% bonus cleared but now they tried to scam me against their own rules, I want the whole balance on my bitcoin address. I want them to give back the money of all the players who have been f***ed by this shady behavior.

STAY AWAY FROM duckdice.io

Oh god, I feel so bad for you. I thought this was just an old post when Bitcoin was only like 500 USD. Dude rip that 5000 USD, I guess when DuckDice.io canceled your winning that is debatable but they have no right to just take your deposits now. This isn't your fault, the site's terms were clear and when you cancel a bonus you shouldn't have to lose all the money you deposit in the first place, this is a pretty big sum and I would maybe recommend taking legal actions because what DuckDice is doing here is totally illegal and I dont want other people getting scammed.
2998  Economy / Economics / Re: Do you think billionaires invest in BTC? on: July 17, 2017, 04:13:08 AM
I just always wonder if those billionaires still invest in btc. Do they even know btc exist?

Well after doing a quick google search I found 3 billionaires who have a fair bit in Bitcoin as an investment. Props to them.

- The billionaire (Mike Cannon-Brookes) who said he had around 10 percent of his net worth in Bitcoin and ethereum. He said he highly regrets not buying bitcoin in 2010.

So yeah there are a few billionares who are currently going fairly big on cryptocurrencies, I am pretty sure there are other billionaires who are investing in Bitcoin but they probably haven't just revealed their cards yet.
2999  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to use BTC securely in the deep web? on: July 17, 2017, 03:35:05 AM
I'd like to pay with BTC in a deep web site. The site itself is NOT illegal, but it's like a social networking site, there's all kind of people there.

1) What settings should I use in TOR browser?

2) Should I use a VPN in addition to TOR even if I am not into illegal activities (but deep web social networking)?

3) Any additional security advice?

Firstly, always use an onion browser, like TOR to browse the deep web. If you want some extra security, I would recommend getting a vpn, some of the good ones are express VPN, and they even accept bitcoin as a payment method. Say you found something worth 100 dollars on the deep web and you want to buy it, here are some of the steps you should do:

1. Open your Tor browser and turn on your VPN.
2. Use a mixing service, some of the big ones are Chipmixer and Bitmixer to mix your chips and then you will be super safe.
3. Buy the product.

Simple.

...will be launched on the 1st of August. Are you happy with this?

Bitcoin doubler isn't such a good word, maybe use a more technical term. It is pretty hard to predict what will happen in the future but this definitely seems possible and the prospect of this happening isn't that unlikely.

What is the best way to prepare for two chains?   If I transfer BTC to a core desktop wallet before 8/1, How do I make sure I can spend them on both chains?   Will there be a different wallet program compatible with the core wallet.dat?

Well in preparation for August the first, the one thing you must have access to your private keys so I would definitely recommend a buying a ledger wallet or trezor wallet so you will have access to your private keys, which gives you certainly that you won't lose your bitcoin through a hard fork, which is what segwit is. There is
