2983  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to explain bitcoin in 20 minutes? on: March 13, 2016, 05:15:58 PM
We're asked at university (computer engineering department) to make a small presentation about something new in the technology world, and the term 'new' is relative here, none of my prof have ever heard of bitcoin or the term crypto currency (they're all super old school guys...). We're allowed to use any helping stuff (programs for demo, videos, images, etc...) to explain in 20 minutes. I'd like to explain the idea of bitcoin (why it was created), how it works (would like to talk more on block-chain concept and how it works), advantages and disadvantages of using it, maybe some historical events about it...
So I was wondering if you guys could help me on how the presentation should be going, what are the points that I need to have more details about??

Thanks in advance Smiley
why dont try to tell them some video from bitcoin.org website, they will more understand, and you just search some knowldege about based bitcoin working, ming bitcoin, and decentralized.
2984  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Ethereum an Altcoin? on: March 13, 2016, 04:50:46 PM
Can someone please explain Ethereum to me? I've been reading and trying to understand but am very confused.
Is it an altcoin? Is it dependent on Bitcoin? They say that it works hand in hand with Bitcoin, but how?

My understanding is that it is just a blockchain that can be used for developing software - but is ether a coin or is it real estate on the Ethereum blockchain?

I'm not interested in technical bla bla bla.. I just want some explanation in plain terms. What is it?
dude,if Etherum not a altcoin,it will not listed on exchange,as you know now etherum listed in almost every altcoin exchange.
2985  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to Create my own currency? on: March 13, 2016, 04:47:17 PM
Hey everyone.

Before you start yelling, "NO MORE SHITCOINS!"
There is a reason why I make this thread.

I want to make my own coin.
I want to me it, myself.

So there will be no empty promise's of features since I know what I will be able to do.
This is not just a "ohh, I got a basic coin together, lets launch" kinda of coin.

I want to do a little research and see how good I can make it.

My biggest issue at the moment is the software to create the coin.
What software?
What despences, and how to install them?

Stuff like that.

Would really be nice of someone could help.

Thank you!

you need so many things, good developer, sponsor, programer, altcoin name, and good promotors. dont think about this if you just corious and dont know about crypto, its will wasting your time.

2987  Economy / Exchanges / Re: BTC-E TRADING SYSTEM HALTED, WITHDRAWALS NOT WORKING, TROLLBOX PANICKING on: March 13, 2016, 04:22:47 PM

It's a rough Sunday for BTC-e. The shady bitcoin exchange affectionately referred to as "BTC Putin" by traders has a rare issue of towntime now. Although it has a reputation as being associated with the mafia it has been one of the most reliable, never having any real hacking outside an old inside job issue in 2012 involving a compromised LibertyReserve key.

What is happening now though is not a hack. There's no evidence of any coins leaving the known BTC-e wallets. However, there are clearly some technical issues, and when people can't withdraw funds it's not the best thing for customers.

From TheMerkle we have this screenshot of the last trades before the system halted:

BTC-e finally announced on around Noon Sunday UTC, March 13 that they have problems to attend to, maintenance they say:

yes, some exchange left us start from some issue that happening on their system, but i hope btc-e not one of scam exchange,i hope the system get well soon.
2988  Other / New forum software / Re: The Bitcointalk forum on: March 13, 2016, 04:01:39 PM
I am just wondering, like 2 years ago people said the new forum was almost done, yet I see no changes at all to the forum software being used.

Is there a thread somewhere where I can see the progress being made?
i dont see that news,i never see people talk about "forum was almost done"
but if there was exist,i think dev never let that happen, they always seriously to create and developing this forum, this is the biggest bitcoin forum,i think this  forum will never done.

2992  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Wait, what about Litecoin? on: March 12, 2016, 05:24:53 PM
I've seen alot of threads about Ethereum/Monero/Dash, but what do you guys think about Litecoin? Is it a sleeping giant? Maybe once the Bitcoin halving occurs and the price shoots up, Litecoin will follow. Please leave your thoughts/predictions below.  Smiley

2995  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum price falls 22% in 1 day on: March 12, 2016, 05:15:01 PM
According to coinmarketcap, Ethereum is down 22% in just one day.

What do you think?
its normal, and i dont think that price will stay for some week,i see the highest price up to 0.03 BTC,and after that, kep down like ass curve.
2996  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum is a billion dollar bubble on: March 12, 2016, 05:10:26 PM
It's getting pretty hard for anyone to make the case that Ethereum isn't a giant bubble. What makes this coin worth a billion dollars?
yes you right,Etherum have good developer and now the market up to i bilion,i dont mind if this will happen, and now i dont have any Etherum, shitt.
2997  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: how to exchange my Epay balance to bitcoin? on: March 12, 2016, 04:46:38 PM
Hello,guys and girls:

Anyone here has joined Epay's "Awards for Merchants(each Epay merchant will be rewarded $10, each 1st referrer will be rewarded $5)" of epay.com and sucessfully to get rewarded $10? Or has joined their previous program"awards for verified users"?

Well, the thing is , there is some balance in my Epay account now, but i am confused how to transfer it to bitcoin? Which Epay exchanger should i choose? and how?
why dont try to post this on services or loan thread, you will get some people who need epay, and i think if you use site or exchange, you will got some fee.
