4.9.2 should also work. Moreover, U3 is considered to be more stable with it.
It worked fine just couldn't over clock it which is what I wanted to do with the u3. It's just something to play with. If it's kind of stable on 4.9.0 then I'll leave it as is. Still don't quite understand why I can't overclock on .2, the bat file I ran was the same.

Solved it I'm now running it on cgminer 4.9.0 as I think ck must have put a default volt and freq setting for the U3 in 4.9.2. So now I can change the settings aslong as I run it on 4.9.0 Thanks for the replies though

I think there's something wrong with the command line. Maybe some symbols which look alike but are different. Did you type it or paste from somewhere? Also you can try to use a conf file.
I copied it from this thread or possible Dogies setup thread. Then just added the freq and volt on the end as ive seen in videos etc. Ive even copied the frq and volt from ck's readme file in the cgminer folders. But still cgminer is showing 225 and 775mv

Come on weve got to find a block soon my rental runs out tomorrow afternoon. *fingers crossed for a double whammy overnight*

Yea ive set it to freq 250 and volt 800 but still it runs at 225 and 775mv
Im using cgminer 4.9.2 if that makes any difference?

Hi guys,,
Bought a U3 as a little hobby to underdtand the cgminer aspect of mining. I also have 2 S3's but they are obviously easier to set up and maintain.
Im having trouble overclocking it though. Currently runs at 225mhz and 775mv even though I have the bat file set up as follows:-
cgminer -o -u -p x --au3-freq 237.5 --au3-volt 800
(obviously with pool data and uswrname data in there.
Can anyone point me to where ive gone wrong?
Thanks.
Anyone?

Chucking my 2 pence worth in. I have had no problems with this pool ever. Aslong as you stick with it instead of jumping on and off you won't have a problem. I've found DrHaribo to be both professional and willing to help whenever and wherever he can.

That's what I've tried to do for this trial of renting. Spread it out to cover ten shifts (approximately 50hours) so I cover as many as possible at a better rate so I get a better percentage of the share. If this pays off I'll try a bigger rental for shorter time.

I have always rented Fixed at a slightly higher price. Reason being is your order will go on pause if the price goes up on a standard order. Then after the price goes back down your miners will restart. Here's the thing. All of your miners dropping out near the end or in the beginning of a shift can dramatically decrease your return if its not fast enough to catch up work and get your regular shift work percentage. I like to keep mine between 5-10% on all shifts, therefore guarantying a profit return, unless the block solve goes beyond 80%, but then again, if we hit 2 in a row after, its all good and 70% profit Just my 2cents .... That is exactly what I wanted to confirm. Looks like I'll be doing a fixed one next time then. Keep getting emails saying the hashrate has decreased

Well I'm renting 10Th for a couple of days hopefully it will pay for itself in that time. It keeps dropping out though. Is it better to do standard and adjust the price to get it running again or have fixed at a slightly higher price?

I sent 0.1btc which (according to my wallet) is 224bytes. Based on your 20satoshi per byte im almost double that.
I may just send the transaction again with a 0.0003 fee and see if that makes any difference. Ive got enough to cover it in my wallet so wont be double spending it but obviously don't want to lose the 0.1 I sent in the first place.
that should be enough to get your tx through. it shouldn't take long unless the tx spends an input from an unconfirmed transaction. Its cleared. Thanks for the replies. Much appreciated.

Well ive sent 0.1btc to my nicehash wallet so ill see what that can get me I can get 15Th for 53hours at 0.0030btc/th/day. Having never done this before is that a good rate?

Hi guys,
Having only recently sent my first btc I included a fee of 0.0001 to the transaction. Is this enough or should it be more?
If it's not enough and the transaction is stuck what happens next?
Thanks.

Well just thought I'd update this seeing as I started it.
Cleaned out the 2 S3's I've got with a small brush and a vacuum cleaner. Both intake sides of the heatsinks were pretty clogged up with dust, so were the gaps around the fan motors.
Just got them up and running and after a few minutes they are already running 2-3 degrees cooler and seem to run quieter too seeing as the fan speeds have dropped around 200rpm (so the gui says anyway).
Ill update again in a couple of days to see if the hashrate has been affected.
Should be the same, that sound pretty much in par from what happen whenever i clean any kinf of miner and even my GPU's when i clean them after they've collected some dust. I enjoy the noise drop a lot. I have them running under my desk in my bedroom (free heat so the radiator is turned off ). I used to be able to hear them clearly from downstairs but now I can hardly hear them at all. Needless to say a clean once they get noisy again will be in order. On the hashrate side of things they have been running for about 4.5hours and its not any better. I was being optimistic thinking I might be able to squeeze a couple of GHs out of them with a clean You're pretty lucky you can't hear your s3s at all. I have one next to my wifi router next to my tv, and at night I hear the whirring of my s3 hashing ALL NIGHT. The good thing is the sound makes me sleep faster, bad news is if I wake up at night and I hear it, I can't sleep ;-; It's probably just old components. My antminer used to energetically mine at 450 ghs without O.C , now it mines at the slow speed of 430 ghs. Well I used to find it hard to drop off to sleep, but now im hoping ill be alright now they are quieter The old S3 is running 218freq and getting 420ghs/avg, the S3+ is at 250freq and getting 495-500ghs/avg. id like another s3+ to swap out the old S3 but cant seem to get one at a decent price.

Never rented hash before so don't know what to do NiceHash.com is the best. Sign up for an account. Send bitcoin to the NiceHash Wallet. Setup Pool details: mint.bitminter.com. Create new order. Don't forget to setup a new miner name on Bitminter to send the Hash to. Watch the video: https://youtu.be/_5OPQpfmwyYDoes it have to be a different worker or can it be the same worker name ive already got? It can be the same worker, but I would recommend that you create a new one to see the hashing difference. Well ive setup my account just waiting for the payment to clear (first time ive sent btc so hope ive done it correctly). Also set up another worker as you've suggested. Still got to wok out the orders aspect, but would like to cover as many shifts as possible to raise my share of the block if one is found.
