In testing:
Direct upgrade from STOCK KNC firmware 2.00 to my firmware!!!! ... so far, in practice its been working =)
Will post .bin v.98 build to github later on.
No more need to flash .img files =)

This will keep all ur current settings as well =)

Is the webGUI running on an http server? Can it render PHP files? If so, I can make a quick API in PHP and that would open up the firmware to be controlled through a mobile app.

No, PHP is not installed, its just a barebones lighttpd service that handles the webgui.

If it's lighttpd than yeah you can run PHP through CGI, you just have to include it in the conf.

Some updates coming down the pipe as improvements to my firmware:
Very soon:
(next release)
Advanced settings page, all my modifications will show their current setting =)
So, DCDC will show the box checked if turned on or box blank if not on. The Temp dropdown box will show current temperature threshold.

(later on)
*At some point coding an update button next to my version info in lower corner of STATUS page. Which will perform sync w/ git & install my latest goodies.

Think anyone would want to have a mobile app to control/view/configure the clunky KNC local webpage? bfgminer already has an API for most of the options anyway, but for your custom additions, if you allowed an API to hook into them, I could make an app to control everything.
304  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: August 19, 2015, 05:15:16 AM
yeah that did it, looks good  Smiley

I'll send you another .25 btc tomorrow, appreciate your hard work

no problem on the testing, any time

Awesome thanks a bunch man I really appreciate it =)

I was about to test out your 0.95 release but realized there is no compiled image. Do you mind compiling this one? I could set up a buildbot in the future to have it auto generated on a nightly basis.

Im keeping it private atm, deciding how to release it ... also its being tested.

Hmm, alrighty then.

Just out of curiosity.....if as I suspect....KNC has done its last firmware updates for Titan (and also imho neptune) .....is there a way to upgrade
when/if the next bfgminer miner beyond 5.1.0 comes along? Or does that depend on what bfgminer adds for enhancements vs how knc equip works?

Lastly I see that KNC posted the 'source' on github has anybody done anything interesting with that or as yet have not felt the need due to past
knc support

just asking last thing i programmed was in apple ][ basic... Smiley

I've been looking into the source code and seeing what I could improve or make slightly better. Can't really do much improvement for these types of ASIC's, but it may be possible to pull off integrating a more stable control system. I'll see what I can do. Whether everyone here likes it or not, the KNC Titans are still the best Scrypt ASICs in terms of MH per Wattage (at least in Canada it is). Titans still suffer quite a bit from fast block efficiency, maybe something can help fix that issue without having to use a set difficulty.
307  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: March 26, 2015, 04:48:21 PM
Will knCMiner offer Batch 1 Titan customers bonus mining cubes just like Nepy customers?
If yes, I'll be very happy~

No they won't. You don't want them.

I've noticed something. I've gotten my massive Monarch order from ButterflyLabs (even though I had to wait a year), and when I compare the products to KNC's Titans... I just feel weird about this. Both companies took a year too long to deliver their products realistically for customers to ROI. When I received from both of them, ButterflyLabs actual hardware is soo much more premium. No broken screws or faulty hardware/software. Just works. I realize BFL assembles in the USA, but that shouldn't matter with units that boast "efficiency". Freaks me out that no legit company can provide a premium product on time. Spondoolies is he closest i've seen.
308  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: March 24, 2015, 04:53:07 PM
Still waiting on hearing back for an RMA on the board that doesn't work. Even added new SD card, flashed it, and formatted. Nothing. I am so livid with this company, i mean, we've already lost a lot, and when you spend as much as you do and the cannot immediately return your messages and get you mining, considering we've already lost so much, it's just plain wrong.

I hope someone exposes this company for what they are, a den of theives taking our $$ for Venture Capitial and then funding their own operation with preorder money, instead of going to bank getting loans, they use this method of screwing over us.

Think i read last year they netted 100 million. Yes, we should be very very pissed off here.

I sent several cubes back in the fall... they never returned any of them. Not even one. They won't even respond to my e-mails for updates.

The Titans or the Neptunes?
309  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: March 22, 2015, 07:14:58 PM
<snip>

Also, yes i've tried numerous types of Class 10 sdcard's as per this threads sadness. I literally do not want to send this board back as it'd take a week to get it back (plus I have to pay customs again).
Unfortunately, it does seem like this is a Pi issue. So i'll have to RMA. Hopefully that goes over smoothly :/

Does the board power up w/o any cubes attached?

Does the LCD show anything?

What image are you flashing on your new SD cards? 1.02 or the full 2.0?

Yes i'm able to power up the board without cubes. LCD is blank throughout any configuration I use. I flashed the 1.02 img, and the 2.0. Both boot up and run on my old Pi, but not the one they sent me. Trying to figure out how to use my old pi with it. But the GPIO port is smaller :/

*EDIT* Just decided to buy a local Raspberry Pi B+ instead of RMA'ing the entire board and waiting + paying. :/ Why do I feel like the next two shipments from batch two are going to punch me in the face in just the same way.

My batch 1 controller has also just died - blank LCD and doesn't respond to a reflash/change of SD card as it did in the past. The controller comes on with 1 led and I can see web interface but not the cubes.
Would you mind sharing how you modify a standard raspberry pi B+ to be compatible with the titan? The connectors JP10 etc all look different + what about mounting the daughterboard?

The new B+ has the same pinout and fits exactly into the actual controller board. If yours has an ethernet port and the yellow rca jack, then it wont work and you'll need to get the newer pi B+.if you can see the web interface, that it's probably not a software/pi problem. Same thing happened to me, and I had to go to the advanced tab, and set the clocks for each die. Applied it, then it started detecting cubes and mining.

Lol, well so far, i'm getting the advertised 430-450 MH/s for this first shipment. If it goes like this for the other two, I could possibly ROI within a year!...if I don't die of sadness looking at that 256 MH/s miner for $1500 first.

Just received a batch 2 Titan. Got an extra cube to achieve the higher promised hashrate. Can't use it however because the controller board I got doesn't have a working ethernet port/firmware.

Anyone else had a problem starting up the titans with a blank screen and no ethernet activity? Did anyone fix it with a proper firmware installed? (which I tried to no avail).

did you try a new SD card... I use a Sandisk 8gb Class 10 card....format it etc and such put the new 2.00 img on it...see if that is the work around ..ie a crappy SD replace it?

if by the above you mean the raspberry pi usb port is shot......not sure if they are using the ones on the 1st batch titans  but anyway

i was told by knc staff (take that as you want like they know squat) that you can just replace directly a raspberry pi B+ 512mb unit to the knc daughterboard if the raspberry pi is broken....others on here i think have done so (or maybe it was knc forums which are now down)

BUT THIS ALL DEPENDS IF THEY USED THE SAME RASPBERRY PI AS THE 1ST BATCH ...no idea....they could have redesigned everything maybe toss some pics on here for the more knowledgeable of the folks here to help...guess we have to stick together now that they 'sunk' knc forums such as it was....

anyway all i got i wish you luck

by the by let us know here if you got the raspberry pi B+ 512mb unit or did you get the NEWEST unit...curious...also is the board different then the old board on these units or did they simply toss in the extra cube and it is the same setup as a batch 1 .....anyway good luck all that comes to mind ...others on here will likely know more on this again pics may help the more tech savy here to help you out

Well.. here's the Titan batch #2's controller board. The whole shipment is pretty much them just tossing in an extra Titan cube I guess. (have two more titan shipments coming in :/).

Here's the Titan batch #2 Raspberry Pi

And here's the extremely old Pi I have to show differences.

Also, yes i've tried numerous types of Class 10 sdcard's as per this threads sadness. I literally do not want to send this board back as it'd take a week to get it back (plus I have to pay customs again).

Is it a gambling type ?

I think you should move this thread into gambling section

Yes it's gambling. But I noticed that Just-Dice's thread is in this section, and that's purely gambling. So if it's okay in this forum, so should this thread be.

316  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Bitsweep.io - Crypto Minesweeper! on: January 06, 2015, 07:46:49 AM

Here is an app i've been working on for a while now and just finished it! It's a Paycoin minesweeper game! Win XPY by tapping the boxes that don't have bombs in them! I would appreciate it a lot if some of you could test it out, if it gets populated then I can justify expanding it's feature set. It has 0% house-edge! meaning I do not impose any advantages from the server. Entropy increases with more people playing by using a rolling UUID code that splices with the pseudo-random server UUID with almost no lag (between rolls)!

To allow for easier betting, a single paycoin = 1000000 bits (one million bits). No minimum deposit, 0.001 (transaction fee) minimum withdrawal. To get 10000 FREE bits (0.01 XPY), simply message me outside of hashtalk (email, im, etc..) by googling my name.

This app is currently for Android, Windows, Mac OSX and Linux (I'll be working on an iOS version if wanted).
This game is currently for Paycoin (XPY). I know how some of you feel about Paycoin, but I will definitely allow more cryptocurrency in the future.

Features:
- 0% House Edge
- 0% Deposit/Withdrawal Fee
- Rolling client/server UUID code
- Best odds compared to any other coin game!
- Highest reward for your risk!
- Multi-platform
- NEW Update 1.1 - Two-Way Referral System! Refer your friends to play and you all can benefit!
- NEW Update 1.1 - Powerups! Use powerups increase your chances of winning! (Powerups will be credited every hour, starting with Update 1.2)

Full Changelog will be @ http://qberty.com

Play Bitsweep here: http://bitsweep.io

Coming Soon?:

- Multiplayer (think battleship, where each player tries to find the bombs that their opponents place)
- Android Wear / Google Glass Support (not sure if anyone would want this, but i'd like to see if I could do it) The website will be just like the app once I make the app feature complete and I get an SSL certificate all set up with bitsweep.io
317  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] Whaletrading.com - Anonymous Coin Exchange (0.10% Trade Fee!) on: September 13, 2014, 01:29:18 PM
The beta app is now on Google Play for Android. I'm looking for a couple of people who are willing to test the iOS (iPhone/iPad) apps. PM me.

Updated OP with Google Play link.
318  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] Whaletrading.com - Anonymous Coin Exchange (0.10% Trade Fee!) on: September 11, 2014, 11:01:44 AM
nice design with low trade fee, but I think you might want to change the text colors a bit to have better contrast as I can hardly read the text, darker color for the background would be good

It may look a little awkward because i'm using the new Roboto font from Android L. But I assure you, when using the apps on the devices themselves, it' looks pretty good. If colors are that much of a problem, i'm going to allow anyone to change the theme up to whatever mix of contrasting colors they want. Smiley

Bump for some feedback before I start adding other coins and posting in their respective threads.
320  Economy / Service Announcements / [ANN] Whaletrading.com - Anonymous Coin Exchange (0.10% Trade Fee!) on: September 09, 2014, 12:01:36 PM
Whaletrading is a new multi-platform app based exchange trading platform for crypto-currencies that allows truly anonymous trading without even needing an account! I've been developing this for quite some time now and I feel it's ready for the public to test out.

Features:
- Minimalist Design
- Optional Anonymous trading
- Native apps for major platforms (Android / iOS has highest priority)
- Push notifications of a specified price
- Fair Voting system (Votes with the highest balance every week get automatically activated instantly)
- One of the lowest trading fees (0.10% for EVERY coin)
- One of the lowest withdrawal fees (0.0001 for EVERY coin, + any transaction fees that the coin requires)
- Uses Authenticated API's (Instead of having a CPU heavy website load every time, every native app handles the graphics and rendering)
- Purging (Allows you to completely erase your account at any moment immediately withdrawing all coins to their respective withdraw addresses)
- Win Coins! (A couple of my side projects for coin games will be seamlessly integrated without touching the ecosystem of the trading platform)

Testing:
I've currently submitted both iOS and Android apps to their own app stores and am awaiting their publications. The Android App is currently in BETA and is available right now at http://whaletrading.com
In the event that Apple doesn't approve the iOS app, i'm looking for testers (100 maximum) to test out the iOS build.

Platforms:
The iOS and Android clients are 100% complete and I am now working on the Windows/Mac/Linux builds which should be available very shortly.

Web Platform:
Why is there no website for trading you ask? Very simple. Speed, and stability. Having each native app use API's to gather ONLY the data they need, minimizes bandwidth usage by a great amount and speeds it up. Running the service this way also makes it stable as it cannot be DDoS'd in the traditional sense. If one API goes down, there's about 12 others as a backup on different servers!

Suggestions:
I mainly started this service because I was tired of dealing with a million differently featured exchanges for trading coins. If anyone has any suggestions to improve this service, please let me know I'm open to any new innovative ideas.

Thanks for reading.
