honestly in my opinion, we are leading with manipulators, btc movements affecting price, etc...

But the truth is all of this amazing features, great community, developer. etc... can't go unnoticed for long time... With big marketing campaign, and well known people in twitter, social networks, youtube videos, articles, you know... MARKETING. Vanillacoin will be BIG, i mean really BIG.

Its just a matter of time, get your positions when is cheap, don't cry later  Roll Eyes

On another note I was reading through general Vanilla talk the other day and thought this is the best way to describe the origins of VNL.

"Miner ++ Is a high performance C++11 cryptographic currency library that is not a clone of the original Satoshi codebase. It is 100% backwards compatible with Peercoin or any derived cryptographic currency.

Dark ++ (Work in progress) A framework for building or extending decentralized DarkNet applicants.

Vanilla has a strong community & cult like following for the sole Vanillacoin Developer John Connor.

The IRC chat is active & John is pretty much in there daily.

Vanilla coin also supports their own Forum (talk.vanillacoin.net) just like how BitcoinTalk started.

John Connor states that this is just the beginning and to date the Releases/Updates have not disappointed.

John has dedicated this project as a full time job 8 hours a day 7 days a week. John states Vanilla is developed by someone that has worked on every major peer-to-peer technology dating back 15 years."

Now with all that combined doesn't that remind you of a certain someone.

Also checkout the Whitepaper for VNL for another headspin with the signed message by John Connor http://vanillacoin.net/papers/vanillacoin.pdf

Yes, you're right

It seems they are now showing vnl into their web http://btc38.com/altcoins

This is the beginning of VNL implementation in btc38.com

https://talk.vanillacoin.net/topic/259/btc38

That's not actually anything.  If you keep loading more, they show the 664 coins from coinmarketcap.  There are under 40 tradeable coins on the site.  Also, hokus_pokus is right about the url: http://btc38.com/altcoin

Yes, you can fake amounts in many ways, editing html through navigator, and taking a photo of that fake could "seems" legit

But the truth is currently there is only 11millions of a maximum of 30millions.

Guys, what is the current amount of available coins vs. total coins that will be minted? I see (link below) that it is rated at 12million/30million but I remember a couple of posts back John mentioned that he could produce a screenshot with 100,000,000; I'm guessing he meant satoshi?

Thanks again Smiley.

a dump now would be a sure disaster, as there is only 16btc in the buy orders. i currently have ~77btc worth on polo.

might be a better idea to suppress again and accumulate more, then release all suppression once it hits around 5k and ive collected another 500k, this method pays off best.

No one asked you about your coins, you did it on your own behalf. If you want to be taken seriosly in the future, you MUST prove it on the blockchain so we could move forward, otherwise you will be branded as a BS spreader and liar. I highly doubt you own that much VNL, but you act like a spoiled child anyway, such behavior is unworthy. Where is your cheerleading attitude?

bad time for alts altogether, but at least VNL is holding strong!
excellent work john connor, everyday your amazing us with your creativeness and innovation!

short term people want hype and flashy pictures, long term this the quality code and no hype approach will bring great success.

For a person with a big bag you strangely feel sad on the price increase.

If you still have any it will be a disaster, if you continue to hold and spit poison in the future, Dave. Dump it now and buy YOVI.

I'm a bigger VNL whale, so you better do what I said. Wink

Yes, the near future looks amazingly good  Roll Eyes

I respect Johns privacy, but I disagree on the effect of doxing a REAL known talented dev.  I mean if John was the guy who invented Gnutella, Edonkey, Limewire, Napster, Bittorent, Peercoin, Bitcoin, etc., being able to advertise that would lend HUGE credibility to the project and trust from potential investors.
Justin Frankel and Tom Pepper invented Gnutella while working @ AOL (they bought winamp + shoutcast). AOL shutdown the project when they found out so they told AOL to go fsck themselves and abandoned Gnutella. The Gnutella protocol was reverse engineered within weeks and within a year there was upwards of 25 independent code bases. People did not copy/paste back then(like in crypto-currency), there was no such thing as clones in file sharing except those that disabled adware, etc. I personally know Bram Cohen and so no I did not invent BitTorrent either. I personally know Jed MccaLeb but no I did not invent Edonkey2000. Mr. King invented Peercoin. Sean invented Napster and I personally know the Macster team that later became part of core Napster in California. Limewire(NYC near ED2K) is JAVA so I did not invent it or have relations with their staff. I think I covered your list. The only ones I have not contributed to are Limewire and I've never submitted a pull request to Peercoin or Bitcoin. Cool

Thank you for your support.

This coin is one of those ones you just keep buying and buying, Great work John.

Thanks.

This could be a reason for this rise

https://bitcoinmagazine.com/articles/as-the-bitcoin-price-rises-to-new-highs-investors-seek-to-explain-recent-gains-1446586942

low volume on Polo, waiting for update from John!

hope update comes fast, price is going through the floor, not sure why... was looking very promising just a few months ago...
The price has not moved much, it's just an illusion because BTC is moon for no reason. USD price still between 3 and 4 cents as it's been for months. There is a complete lack of VNL sells(I see accumulation) except for a bot and one or two people. Go look at the charts. Cool

Thank you for your support.
318  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [UNOFFICIAL] VNL | Vanillacoin 0.3.9 | Node Incentives | ZeroTime | POW/POS on: November 04, 2015, 06:37:44 PM
Answering point 2:

Im running 5 super peers, and getting around 60-120VNL each day (of course holding  Cheesy Cheesy)

If you are running the wallet 24/7 you will have more possibilites to take a "reward" now the rewards are 7.407vnl.

You need to get 10.000 vnls, and when you have into your wallet, sent a transaction to your own address of unique 10.000 (without zerotime)

after sending the 10k you must restart your wallet

after that you must go to your wallet data (where stores wallet.dat etc) and edit config.dat and disable proof of stake editing to "0" if not, when you stake, you'll lose the balance of 10.000 and stop node super peer.

You must check in config.dat the port, and open TCP & UDP

you can check you are super peer in the console doing "getincentiveinfo"

I hope don't forget anything.

Best Regards, and enjoy community,

I'd like to thank everyone for their helpful responses; I am actually buying my first coins on Polo right now and am eager to give the coin a try.

I still have some outstanding questions though:

1. Is there a linkdin page or somewhere I can get a bio and other RL info from the dev?

2. Do superpeers need to be hosted? I assume they need to be hosted due to the need for constant uptime/ if so, is their a service that can help me do this? I am not very technical but I will have my first 10k coins by the end of the day.

3. I have heard about Proof of Stake and have a general understanding of the concept, not sure how is works in practice though; I mean, do I just open my wallet and let my cash "stake" by itself? Does it even need to be open? Would it be better if I hosted it on a server? Etc.

Thanks,
   Pablo.
319  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [UNOFFICIAL] VNL | Vanillacoin 0.3.8 UPD! | Node Incentives | ZeroTime | POW/POS on: October 27, 2015, 09:44:24 AM
My first staking was about 70hours later
Because i did the transaction of the coins into a big amount, then it takes time to stake.

If you want to stake fast, do transactions of less than 250coins.

Stake works fine.

How much time does it usually take to get any POS after depositing Vnl into your wallet and leaving it unlocked for staking

It will take around 8 hours minimum age to stake. Everything you need to know is in the OP.
It's been more than 48 hours now but i only have 700 Vnl in the wallet now left the rest of it on exchange .Had to move them over to exchange i had something go haywire on my pc all of my wallets were showing a balance of 0 and no transaction  history think i might have installed a bad wallet while mining Lunarcoin  .So i restored wallet from back up and sent them all to exchange and just stared  moving my coins back from exchange

John connor is true that you aren't focusing into marketing because maybe you and more people wants to get as much VNL as possible at this current prices

because to be honest, super peers rewards, zerotime, and dark++ coming... marketing could be made by itself.

Regards.

waiting to the moon.......

With BTC doing it's run, it may be a bit before it floods back into alternatives. We will see where the market takes us. Cool
