crypto is shit right now.
- legislations and regulations are destroying the profit for most part of investors
- Taxes are being looked into like really hard, and noone can predict how much money they are going to take from your pocket
- The mining market is becoming HIGHLY CENTRALIZED, with big players and ASICS destroying normal people, taking out from bussiness almost 90% of those that were interested in this market.
- End of anonimity is really really near, with governments and banks doing their best to track people investing on crypto, so that the government can crash you with taxes.
- Almost every exchange is cheating. they are manipulating the market , creating fake buy orders just to hype people up and then sell for their 10% weekly profit. This has come to an end, that's why for almost 1 month the prices have not moved a single bit. They ARE TOTALLY PLAYING WITH PEOPLE. THEY ARE KILLING THE GOLD COW REALLY QUICKLY , THOSE GREEDY BASTARDS.
- Coins are not offering what you would expect from them, and some coins like ETH are being surpassed by other easily.
- No coin is giving the amount of smart contracts or money they are getting by commercializing their coin, so you are blind at picking them. This does not happen in any other market in the world. Either you know the value, o you can see the product. Here, you cannot "track" the product, nor know the value by smarts contracts signed or amount of money won by activity.
Much more reasons, but only one conclusion:
THIS MARKET IS ABOUT TO DIE, AND WILL TAKE ALL OF YOU WITH IT. You don't have to believe. Just deal with it when it happens. And don't cry, accept it as a man and live with it.

you should also consider heat in the room.
At 25șC my PSU uses less power to power the rigs. for example, i have one corsair HX 1200i that uses 900W from the wall to power a 6 gpu rig pulling 189,8 mh/s. it can go down by reducing core clock below actual 1240mhz. But i would also lose performance. when ambient temp is around 35șC (i live by the sea and it's very hot on summer) my PSU needs around 935W from the wall to power the rig.
Today, at current prices, it makes sense to tweak gpus to use less power, even getting lower hashrate. BTW, my cards use from 837mv for an RX 570 to 956mv for a very low ASIC RX 580. the rest in the middle are around 850-868mv.

wallets can be hacked. Exchanges can be hacked. so none of them are safe.
But, and this is important, if you have your coins in a centralized exchange, the government can access that information and crash you with taxes. If you have them in a wallet, the government will eat shit.
So better in wallets.

2 rigs with 12 gpus well optimezed (RX 580 and RX 570) doing 31,3 average mh/s, is doing around 376 mh/s. those rigs are using around 1800w from the wall.
Its mean your miners are not even close to optimized , your power draw at the wall should be under 1600 watts  with a "optimized" 12x RX580 rig to answer your question, we have to stablish a base line. What's the meaning of PROFIT, for you? is winning 40$ a month what you would call profit???
Because that's the most you will get right now with an E3 paying 7 cents (suppose taxes included).
Current profitability with Bitmain E3 and 0.07$/kWh is actually around 60$/months 40$ a months or 60$ a months / miner, yes i would call that as a profit for sure If my miners are paid back already , then i would call that 40-60$/months/miners as a big profit  5 of my cards are doing 32,4 mh/s at 1240/2250 868mv. Are you sure what you are saying? i don't think so. It's widely proved, that the best ratio performance - power consumption is 1240/2250 at something around 850 to 878mv depending on how good your card is. i don't think it's wise for you to talk about "optimization" without actually pulling out numbers to discuss. |
