That's awesome! Are you considering stocking smaller amounts of gold? Buying a full ounce is pretty hardcore.
Selling gram quantities of bullion would put it in the range of casual miners, and would generate a lot of interest.

On Page 20 of the Sunday Times ingear section. "Show Me The Money:Bitcoin is a shadowy virtual currency that can be used by anyone in the real world. Its popularity is growing but critics fear it is an invitation to criminals." Ah, I see. This was a joke! I wouldn't even dignify it as a joke; I was being flippant, and failed to communicate this explicitly, or with a smiley etc. Excuse me. There are a great many Europeans who feels that the interest rate of the Euro is adjusted to suit the German economy and agenda, and that Germany is using the Euro as a tool to manipulate other economies, but this is opinion. EDIT:Corrected Missing Title

My numbers on my hard drive? Yes, I'll move them around when I want to.

Germany controls the Euro. If Bitcoin is not violently throttled, it has the capacity to destroy the Euro. This, coupled with German's natural love of authority, means that mainstream German society will resist Bitcoin along with Australians etc.

Especially since no sane person takes the Australian media seriously. Read a few articles on anything remotely controversial, and most will be goose-stepping it up to the party line.

I like having you around, Atlas.
If I recall correctly, you are adolescent. This is a horrible, disgusting time in life that will pass. I hope your mood problems are pass with it.
All those of us who've gone through similar periods can tell you is that, though it might take years and work, it can get better.
Embrace those around you who can help, and keep your head above water (I think you'll appreciate the irony in that mixed metaphor).

Bitcoin is going to be discussed at live.twit.tv, this time. I'm pretty sure. I'm going to try to correct any glaring errors.

It's a shame that LRC couldn't manage to wrap their heads around Bitcoin before posting this.
It's astounding how many people state that Bitcoin is worthless because they did not value its initial state. I valued it because it was cool (and should have paid more attention with BTC I bought/earned). Now I value it because it will revolutionise the world. Trading shiny lumps of metal is no more fundamental than transaction announcements. They're both pretty good. I look forward to when we can trade gold based predominantly on its industrial value.

This site is amazing! Well done. If I were in New York, I'd be making plans immediately.

While the moderate purchasing power I am likely to accrue from the increased price of Bitcoin price increase is pleasant, it's not my primary motivation for sticking with Bitcoin.
I genuinely believe that Bitcoin can change the world for the better, and don't intend to sell my coins at all. I buy things with my coins.

Interesting. Through that lnk, I saw this. It would appear that it is illegal to trade a virtual currency for a physical item or service in China. I wonder how long before they crack down on that. The poor Chinese might find be the first to find out what it's like when the old guard fights back.

Why the fuck don't they just put up a "Members Only" png? Silk Road positively delights in frustrating potential customers with their cryptocommunication.

BOOM, LanYu! That's the answer.
The question isn't whether we should change that which we call Bitcoin, but should we start trading in millibits.
Should the client default to millibits now? I say yes, but who the fuck am I?
This would encourage trading in millibits pretty quickly, and I think we, maybe, can rely on a significant portion of potential Bitcoin users understanding "one thousandth of". Probably.

Something similar to this was attempted in the United States. It was called e-gold. It might still be profitable on free land, if you can find some. There's obviously demand for such a service, and it shouldn't be too difficult. I prefer Bitcoin, though. Hits all my sensibilities. Gold is a very useful element, but I prefer P2P to centralisation.

It's going to be awesome for that kid to be able to show off a photo with 5 gold tons worth of pizza.

There's also the issue that the EFF will probably be defending Bitcoin in the near future. Possessing an income stream in Bitcoin would be a bit of a conflict of interest.
