No, if you look for 1LdRcdxfbSnmCYYNdeYpUnztiYzVfBEQeC with Google, you find nothing about this scam.

Someone has linked 53880 BTC for the next Byteball distribution

What a lucky guy !  Smiley

Quite honestly the app gave no indication i was not connected to the network, GBYTES plural were sent, none arrived.  Upon investigation the bot section of the app states socket closed. This worries people, investors, noobs, like me. I'm investing family money and now it is ..... ?  It's very disconcerting, and there is no help.

OMG you didn't get answer within an hour for a potential bug in a feature introduced 2 days ago  Roll Eyes

The app doesn't even work. And no one can fix it thus far, for a simple connection to the network,  so i will offer caution for investors.

What are you talking about ?
305  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: June 03, 2017, 03:49:04 PM
Hi, do I have to link my bitcoins with my byteball account in every single distribution phase, or is it enough to link it just once in the chat-tool to benefit from every single distribution phase ?

It's needed only one time. Just check before distributions that your device is still paired with transition bot.

How much we get for 1BTC in wallet?

0.0625 GB per BTC you own.

Please, support byteball, request poloniex to add this great coin!
From poloniex coin request rules: "We like to see evidence of the developers' dedication to the project, community interest, and above all else, innovation. If you feel your coin is truly innovative, we want to hear about it."
That is the exact description of byteball, so submit your request here:
https://poloniex.com/coinRequest

In case you are not familiar with byteball, here are list of possible answers:
What is the name of the coin? => Byteball
What is the coin's symbol? => GBYTE
Please link to the announcement page. => https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1608859.0
If the coin has a website, please link it here.  => https://byteball.org/
If the coin has a block explorer, please link it here. => https://explorer.byteball.org/
Please try to write your own explanation!
Please explain why you would like to see this coin added to the exchange. => "The developer is very active, community is growing, it is already trading on several exchanges like Bittrex, Cryptox, Cryptopia, Changelly, and Bitsquare."
If this coin has any significant innovations over other coins, please elaborate on them here. => "Byteball is great coin with unique method of storing and ordering data as directed acyclic graph. It has witnesses system to prevent double-spending, has ability to issue assets (including private ones), chatbots which can easily implement almost any functionality. It's distribution system is also unique and fair. Please check this coin, it worth it!"

The more exchanges have the coin listed - the more people know about it and can participate in development, the better the infrastructure for byteball will be, the more it will cost, so spend your 3 minutes and send this request to Poloniex!

It could be very fun if GBYTE get higher price than BTC before Polo lists it, all these guys who missed it would rage so much Grin

I read it's possible to create your own assets (no idea how that works). It's the first time I read blackbytes being "the first", in other words is it possible to create one like it? Like Loycebytes?

Sure you can create your Loycebytes, this is the way to do it programmatically: https://github.com/byteball/byteballcore/wiki/Issuing-assets-on-Byteball
As I read on Slack, there is a guy who set up a website to allow anybody to create easily an asset. So you will have soon a more convenient way to create it.

Actually it's 5 million bucks. Well deserved indeed for a free new coin instead of a hyped ICO. I hope the success will continue after the airdrop.

Oh, so the 1% is not being distributed in stages then, right?  Anyway, something tells me we'll be talking about a much higher figure soon!   Wink

Technically Tony owns the keys of genesis address so he still owns all the remaining bytes to be distributed.
He already moved his 1% to a specific address that you can see on 4th position of richest list: https://byteball.fr/Top100ByteballRichest.php

do we know how many more distributions there are after this one ?

ball park, like are we talking 1 or like 5, 10 ?

Nobody can tell precisely, I would say between 5 and 10.

Question for any BB developers out there:

Would it be possible to create tokens on top of the BB infrastructure like ETH does?

Yeah https://github.com/byteball/byteballcore/wiki/Issuing-assets-on-Byteball
There is no GUI yet but this feature is nicely integrated in BB, you don't need to use a smart-contract to manage the tokens. If you just need a token, BB is better than Ethereum for this.
312  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: May 31, 2017, 05:37:28 PM

hmm..distrib is really uneven..take example on MINEREUM for distrib more equitable..this bank schema of distrib is really disgusting.

Byteball needs to keep a decent capitalization to not be attacked by spamming. By distributing according to richness, you make sure that people can afford to hold the bytes you give them.

Which is the best way to install the wallet on different devices - different computers and perhaps mobile, sharing the same account?

go add-wallet->multidevice-wallet
You can choose a multidevice-wallet that requires a signature from every devices if you're looking for maximum security, or a multidevice-wallet that requires only one signature from any device if you want an easy wallet for small expenses.

Thanks for the help, but I've tried to do that but the most I could achieve is to pair the devices which now allows me to chat between my laptop and my phone which I couldn't care less. My bytes still appear only on one device.
It's a real shame that in such a nice project there are no instruction on how to use the wallets. You can't even experiment too much with the wallet full of bytes, risking to lose the coins if you make mistakes. Am I the only one having this problem?

Now that your devices are paired, you create the multidevice-wallet and you transfer bytes from your current single-wallet to your multidevice-wallet (a device can have multiple wallets that you select in hamburger menu). Then you bytes will appear on both devices.

If you do, I'll test it. But only with small amounts.
It could be very good for Byteball's popularity to have a build-in casino inside the wallet. No more slow deposits, no more deposits at all, just click and go.

There is an oracle that provides random numbers, you won't need to trust the dice since the bet will be a smart-contract. Anyway I will have to limit the betted amount since my Byteball richness is limited.

I think we should maybe make some steps to be included in more than few exchanges. Bittrex wallet issue is just so annoying.

More liquidity and gbyte is on the moon.

There is no magical way to list Byteball on more exchanges. You can still try to ask Poloniex: https://poloniex.com/coinRequest

Developer guide for issuing new assets on Byteball:
https://github.com/byteball/byteballcore/wiki/Issuing-assets-on-Byteball

I will read more about this but first reaction to this kind of post is not different than usual one. Why we need more assets when our on going project needs to see adoption and practical usage. I think wiki can be helpful to understand why developer need to issue new one.

It's the same purpose as ethereum tokens, except the feature is built natively in Byteball and you don't need to write a smart-contract to manage the assets you emitted.
If someone needs to emit a token, it's good for us if he does it on Byteball cause that means more Byteball users.

More dice site
This can be implemented in chat, right? A Dice bot to bet against could be a very cool feature to use from within the wallet's own chat.

If you promise me you'll use it, I can code a dice bot next week-end  Cool

Taking control the Byteball network with 10 USD a day ?

I have read the byteball white paper and I find this new concept really promising, in particular insofar as byteball does not need millions of asics processors running 24/24 to ensure network stability.

However I am wondering about its global stability strength.

I see on byteball.fr stats that witnesses post around 5000 units per day to ensure the "reality strenght" of the network.

The minimal cost (header + payload commission) of posting a unit is 501 bytes.

So, at the current byteball GB price on exchange markets, posting 5000 units costs 0,5 USD.

It seems that an attacker, bringing with him his own witnesses, could easily (with a budget of, say, less than 10 USD a day) completely flood the network and eject the current honest witnesses.

Will the "near conformity rule" prevent from such a take over ?

As far as I understand the rule, attacker can modify the witness list incrementally (one by one) so it will just take 12 units on the main chain to make the complete switch toward his bad witnesses list.

He could then impose his own "vision of reality", allowing double spend and so on...

I add that the required budget would actually be *even lower* as the attacker would get back most of the header and payload fees.

Did I misunderstand something or is it just a weakness of youth ?

Others Byteball users won't reference their units to the attackers's unit because the witnesses are too much differents. All the attacker will do is to create is own byteball network fork that everybody will ignore.

No technical overkill, but practicability und scalability. That convinced me.

Everything is like this in Byteball.
The white paper is hard to read at first cause the approach is different from what we already know but when you read again you realize that all these powerfull features work with simple mechanism. Indeed, with some work, anybody with an average intelligence can understand deeply how Byteball works. This is very good for adoption, any average coder is able to build on top of Byteball.
